1.Buccal Acupuncture Alleviates Postoperative Pain in Patients Undergoing Radical Resection of Gastrointestinal Cancers: A Randomized Controlled Pilot Study.

OBJECTIVE:
To preliminarily investigate the effect of buccal acupuncture therapy on ameliorating postoperative pain and enhancing recovery quality among patients undergoing radical resection of gastrointestinal cancers.
METHODS:
Fifty-two participants were randomized at a 1:1 ratio to either the buccal acupuncture or the control group. The acupuncture protocol entailed targeting 5 predetermined acupoints [CA-2 (Upper jiao), CA-3 (Middle jiao), CA-4 (Lower jiao), CA-6 (back), and CA-7 (waist) and two adjustable acupoints [CA-1 (head) and CA-8 (sacrum)] on each side of the face. The outcomes included the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) scores for each day within 7 days postoperatively, 15-Item Quality of Recovery Scale (QoR-15) scores, analgesics consumption during and after surgery, incidences of postoperative nausea and vomiting, and perioperative levels of interleukin-6 and glucose. Adverse events related to acupuncture were recorded.
RESULTS:
Of the initial 52 participants, 46 completed the study and were included in the analysis. Findings indicated that the buccal acupuncture group experienced significantly reduced resting NRS scores in post-anesthesia care unit and throughout the postoperative phase (P=0.001 and P=0.003, respectively), along with enhanced QoR-15 scores on the 3rd postoperative day (P=0.008), compared to the control group. No notable differences were identified in the remaining indicators (P>0.05).
CONCLUSION
Buccal acupuncture therapy demonstrated significant effectiveness in reducing postoperative pain and improving recovery quality for patients undergoing radical resection of gastrointestinal cancers, presenting a viable intervention without associated adverse outcomes. Targeted radiation therapy using radionuclides is a favored approach for treating tumors.This procedure involves the delivery of drugs to the lesion site via carriers or interventional methods,followed by the emission of radiation energy that selectively irradiates the lesion tissue.This approach minimizes damage to normal tissue and achieves the desired therapeutic effect.Factors such as the type of therapeutic radionuclide,radiation energy,physical half-life,method of preparation,and toxicity determine their clinical application.In this paper,the characteristics and clinical application of therapeutic radionuclides were reviewed to providing reference for the clinical application of targeted therapeutic radionuclides.

4.Evaluation of intervention effect of health education on overweight and obesity among middle school students in Guangzhou

Objective:
To explore the effect of the comprehensive intervention on overweight and obesity among middle school students at the population level (health education lecture and official account push) and individual level (personalized dietary guidance), so as to provide a reference for preventing and controlling their overweight and obesity.
Methods:
Three junior high schools and three senior high schools were randomly selected in Guangzhou in 2018 by convenience sampling. Through physical examination, 1 457 overweight and obese students aged from 12 to 18 years old were screened. Intervention was administered through "Student Personalized Dietary Guidance" manual, health tweets on the official accounts, and health education lectures from September 2018 to December 2019. The Chi square test was used to compare the difference in overweight and obesity constituent ratio between the two groups before and after the intervention. And intervention effect was evaluated by analyzing the number needed to treated(NTT).
Results:
The proportion of overweight before the intervention was 66.71% (972/1 457), and decreased to 59.92% (873/1 457) after the intervention; the proportion of obesity before the intervention was 33.29% (485/1 457), which decreased to 26.63% (388/1 457) after the intervention. Among obese students, the smallest NNT was seen in the girl group aged 12-13 years (NNT=2.6, 95% CI =1.9-4.1), while the largest NNT in the boy group aged 14-18 years (NNT=5.9, 95% CI =4.7-8.1). The NNT of the girls aged 12-13 years was the smallest (NNT=2.7, 95% CI =2.2-3.5), and the NNT of the boys aged 14-18 years was the largest (NNT=7.4, 95% CI =6.0-9.7).
Conclusion
Health education at population level (health education lectures, official account push) with individual level (personalized dietary guidance) can effectively intervene overweight and obesity among middle school students in Guangzhou.
5.Association between maternal pre pregnancy and pre delivery overweight with overweight and obesity of middle school students:a case control study

Objective:
To explore the association between maternal pre pregnancy and pre delivery overweight with overweight and obesity among offspring during adolescence in Guangzhou, and to provide evidence for child obesity prevention.
Methods:
Based on the routine physical examination of primary and secondary school students in Guangzhou, random sampling was used to 6 middle schools and questionnaire survey was conducted among 3 384 students and their parents. Students with overweight and obesity were included in the case group, and the other students were included in the control group. Propensity Score Matching (PSM) was adopted to reduce selection bias. Logistic regression model and χ 2 test were used to analyze the data before and after PSM.
Results:
The result of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences between overweight/obese group and the control group by gender, schooling stage (middle and high schools), picky eater, family history of obesity, family monthly income, delivery mode, high birthweight, and gestational weight gain before PSM( χ 2=42.38, 10.64, 14.47, 26.85, 10.58, 13.59 , 15.53, 20.64, P <0.05). After PSM, results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between overweight/obese group and the control group in middle and high schools, and mother delivery mode( P >0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of overweight and obesity of maternal pre pregnancy on adolescent offspring was 1.54 times higher than control group (95% CI =1.01-2.36) before PSM, and the overweight and obesity of maternal predelivery also increased the risk of overweight and obesity of adolescent offspring( OR=2.35, 95%CI =1.67-3.31). After PSM, maternal overweight and obesity pre pregnancy ( OR=2.17, 95%CI =1.41-3.34) and maternal overweight and obesity pre delivery( OR=2.99, 95%CI =2.08-4.31) significantly increased the risk of overweight and obesity in adolescent offspring.
Conclusion
Maternal overweight and obesity pre pregnancy and pre delivery are associated with increased risk of overweight and obesity in adolescent offspring.
6.Effects of exposure to low-dose ionizing radiation on changing platelets: a prospective cohort study.

BACKGROUND:
Numerous studies have concentrated on high-dose radiation exposed accidentally or through therapy, and few involve low-dose occupational exposure, to investigate the correlation between low-dose ionizing radiation and changing hematological parameters among medical workers.
METHODS:
Using a prospective cohort study design, we collected health examination reports and personal dose monitoring data from medical workers and used Poisson regression and restricted cubic spline models to assess the correlation between changing hematological parameters and cumulative radiation dose and determine the dose-response relationship.
RESULTS:
We observed that changing platelet of 1265 medical workers followed up was statistically different among the cumulative dose groups (P = 0.010). Although the linear trend tested was not statistically significant (P
CONCLUSION
We concluded that although the exposure dose was below the limit, medical workers exposed to low-dose ionizing radiation for a short period of time might have increased first and then decreased platelets, and there was a dose-response relationship between the cumulative radiation dose and platelets changing.

8.Plaque accumulation at the fitting surface and cleaning status in patients with full-arch implant-supported fixed prostheses: a cross sectional study

Objective:To observe the plaque accumulation at the fitting surface and oral hygiene status in patients with full-arch implant-supported fixed prostheses, and explore the possible influencing factors.Methods:Twenty-eight patients [17 males and 11 females, (63.0± 10.8) years old] with 40 full-arch implant-supported fixed prostheses (18 maxillary and 22 mandibular) were collected from January 2012 to September 2020 in Department of Implantology, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. Plaque accumulation at the fitting surfaces were evaluated during the follow-up visit after 6 months following definitive prostheses delivery, by analyzing the digital photographs recorded by ImageJ. Meanwhile, the cleanliness of the fitting surface of prostheses and oral hygiene status were recorded. The oral hygiene habits and the patients′ satisfaction with the prostheses were investigated by questionnaire, and the difference of plaque accumulation between different cleaning habits of dentures were compared.Results:The debris index of the fitting surface of the 40 full-arch implant-supported fixed prostheses were 3.28±0.75, and the percentage of area covered with plaque was (51.6±19.0)%. The debris index and plaque accumulation of the mandibular prostheses were significantly higher than that of the maxillary prostheses ( P<0.05). In most mandibular prostheses (16/22), calculus was attached to the lingual side of the anterior tooth area. The reserved cleaning space of the restoration showed more plaque accumulation than in other parts. There was no significant difference in the percentage of area covered with plaque between groups with different cleaning habits. The satisfaction survey results indicated the "clean" project had a lowest score. Conclusions:The cleanliness of patients with full-arch implant-supported fixed prostheses was poor, and the hygiene status of the mandibular prostheses was worse than that of maxillary, especially in the anterior tooth area of mandibular prostheses. The influence of different cleaning habits on plaque accumulation was not observed.
9. A model study of diagnosing mediastinal metastasis lymph nodes in non-small cell lung cancer based on CT radiomics

Objective:
To establish radiomics models based on different CT scaning phases to distinguish mediastinal metastatic lymph nodes in NSCLC and to explore the diagnostic efficacy of these models.
Methods:
The CT images of 86 preoperative patients with NSCLC who were performed both plain and enhanced CT scans were analyzed retrospectively. The 231 mediastinal lymph nodes were enrolled in this study which were divided into two independent cohorts: 163 lymph nodes enrolled from January 2015 to June 2017 constituted the training cohort, and 68 lymph nodes enrolled from July 2017 to June 2018 constituted the validation cohort. The regions of interest (ROIs) were delineated on plain scan phase, arterial phase and venous phase CT images respectively, and 841 features were extracted from each ROI. LASSO-logistic regression analysis was used to select features and develop models. The area under the ROC curve (AUC value), sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of different models for distinguishing metastatic lymph nodes were compared.
Results:
A total of 6 models were established, and the AUC values were all greater than 0.800. The plain CT model yielded the highest AUC, specificity, accuracy and positive predictive value with 0.926, 0.860, 0.871, 0.906 in the training cohort and 0.925, 0.769, 0.882, 0.870 in the validation cohort. When plain and venous phase CT images were combined with arterial phase CT images, the sensitivity and negative predictive value of the models increased from 0.879, 0.821 and 0.919, 0.789 to 0.949, 0.878 and 0.979, 0.900 respectively.
Conclusions
The CT radiomics model could be used to assist the clinical diagnosis of lymph nodes. The AUC value of the model based on plain scanning was the highest, while the sensitivity and negative predictive value of the model could be improved by combining the arterial phase CT images.
10.Contamination prevalence and drug resistance spectrum of MRSA from classrooms in Guangzhou primary schools

Objective:
To investigate the distribution and drug resistance situation of staphylococcus aureus (SA) and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from the classroom environments in primary schools of Guangzhou.
Methods:
The air and the surfaces of door handles, desks, chairs, light switches and floor were sampled in the classrooms of 8 primary schools selected through stratified clustering method in Guangzhou from May to June, 2016. SA and MRSA were isolated and identified, and drug sensitivity tests were conducted.
Results:
A total of 760 samples were collected, the detection rate of SA and MRSA were 8.8% and 4.2%, respectively. There were statistically significant differences in the detection rate of staphylococcus aureus among different sampling sites(P<0.01).Detection of SA and MRSA on the floor,light’s witches and surface of deskes was both above 6.0%. The multiple drug resistance rate of MRSA was up to 100.0%, and the main resistance mode was Penicillin-Erythromycin-Rifampin-Tetracycline-Teicolanin.
Conclusion
MRSA can be detected in air, door handles, desk surface, chair surface, light switch and floor of primary schools. Relevant administration departments should pay attention to the environments health of Guangzhou primary schools.
