This paper summarizes Li Fei's academic insights and clinical experience in treating intractable facial paralysis.Li Fei posits that prolonged illness inevitably leads to deficiency and stasis, and thus, the treatment of intractable facial paralysis should first focus on identifying the etiology and syndrome differentiation, resolving stasis and unblocking stagnation, and regulating qi and blood, with particular emphasis on the relaxation of the meridian sinew system. The meridian sinew system, affiliated with the meridian and collateral, serves as the framework through which qi and blood nourish muscles, tendons, and joints, playing a crucial role in facial paralysis treatment.Guided by the theory of the meridian sinew system,Li Fei employs syndrome-based treatment, integrating the anatomy of facial expression muscles. His approach includes needle-knife therapy to release adhesions and break stasis, acupuncture to harmonize qi and blood, and intradermal needle therapy for sustained stimulation.Through these methods, the meridian sinew system is relaxed,qi and blood are regulated, and facial muscles are nourished, leading to gradual recovery from facial paralysis.

Objective:To investigate the current situation of uncivilized behavior in workplace encountered by nurses in Xianyang City, and analyze its influencing factors, so as to provide a basis for formulating corresponding intervention measures. Methods:In May 2023, convenience sampling was used to investigate the general information, current situation of uncivilized behavior in workplace and coping style of 1310 nurses in 8 secondary and tertiary general hospitals in Xianyang City by using the general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Nurse Incivility Scale and the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of uncivilized behavior encountered by nurses. Results:A total of 1285 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective recovery rate of 98.09%. The total score of uncivilized behavior encountered by nurses was (86.41±22.49) points. Among them, the scores of five dimensions were nurses' uncivilized behavior (19.95±4.70) points, patients' uncivilized behavior (23.66±8.96) points, supervisors' uncivilized behavior (13.25±4.87) points, doctors' uncivilized behavior (14.32±5.63) points and colleagues' uncivilized behavior (15.23±4.93) points. The multiple linear regression analysis results showed that the hospital level and coping style were the significant influencing factors of uncivilized behavior in workplace encountered by nurses ( β=0.104, 0.056; P<0.05) . Conclusion:The current situation of uncivilized behavior in workplace encountered by nurses needs to be improved. Hospital managers should focus on coping styles, such as setting up simulation scene exercises, team cooperation training, training and counseling, so as to reduce the uncivilized behavior in workplace encountered by nurses.

Objective:To explore the feasibility of obtaining three-dimensional (3D) models of intraosseous and periosteal arteries of hallux phalanx using micro-arteriography with micro-CT scan. Methods:From January 2022 to April 2025, the Department of Orthopaedic, the 988th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force of the Chinese PLA conducted a study on 7 fresh-frozen specimens of distal lower limb (right lower limb) from an 85-year-old male, and both lower limbs from an 82-year-old male, a 78-year-old female and a 66-year-old male in the Department of Human Anatomy & Histology and Embryology, Peking University School of Basic Medical Sciences. Red lead oxide powder (Pb 3O 4) was ground and filtered through a 300 mesh, and then mixed with turpentine at ratios of 1 g ∶ 1.5 ml, 1 g ∶ 1.0 ml, and 1 g ∶ 0.5 ml to prepare lead-based contrast agent suspensions. After thawing the specimens at room temperature, the suspensions were injected via the popliteal artery in ascending order of concentration. After injections, the specimens were fixed in 10% methanal for 2 weeks. The proximal and distal phalanges of the hallux, with the surrounding periosteum preserved intact, were then harvested. The harvested specimens were scanned using micro-CT at an ultimate resolution of 12 μm. Subsequently, Mimics Medical software was used to reconstruct 3D models of the intraosseous and periosteal arteries within the phalanges. Results:Periosteal arteries in the proximal phalanx were primarily distributed near the joint region. A consistently large trunk artery entered from plantar side, supplying most of the diaphysis and head. There was a rich periosteal arterial network on both sides of the distal phalanx, which communicates with each other through the arterial arch in the bone groove. However, trunk intraosseous artery could be absent. Intraosseous arteries in the proximal ends of both the proximal and distal phalanges originated from periosteal arteries. These formed an interconnected arteriosomes and coursed parallel to the articular surfaces. Conclusion:The micro-arteriography acquired by micro-CT scan effectively visualizes intraosseous and periosteal arteries and enables the reconstruction and analysis of 3D models of the arteriosomes. The characteristics of arteriolar distribution provide a theoretical basis for osteotomy or internal fixation procedures involving a hallux phalanx.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2024;44(6):800-808
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of the differential expression of CD44 in glioblastoma(GBM),and the enrichment of related pathways combined with U87 cell verification. Methods Differential ex-pression and Cox analysis were used to find potential differences in CD44 expression between tumor patients and healthy people as shown by pancancer transcriptome and hazard ratio(HR).Immunoinfiltration and stem-cell re-lated scores of GBM patients with high and low CD44 expression groups were compared and the differences be-tween immune cell subsets, and their correlation with CD44 were further analyzed.Pathway enrichment of differen-tially expressed genes in high and low CD44 expression groups for GBM patients was performed.Over-expression(OE),knockdown(KD)and knockout(KO)of CD44 in U87 cells was done by constructing and packaging lenti-virus and using the electroribonucleoprotein complex;CD44 immunofluorescence staining was performed on U87 and U87 CD44 OE cells. The activity and apoptosis of U87 cells were detected by knocking down CD44 and the mi-gration and invasion ability of U87 cells were detected by knocking down CD44.Results The expression of CD44 in GBM patients was higher than that in healthy people(P<0.05)and HR>1.GBM patients with high CD44 ex-pression had higher stromal cell and immunoinfiltration scores, and GBM patients with high and low CD44 expres-sion had significant differences in the ratio of dendritic cells,CD4+memory T cells and regulatory T cells, all posi-tively correlated with CD44 expression(P<0.05).Differential gene enrichment in GBM patients with high and low CD44 expression was further associated with pathways related to cell migration and apoptosis(P<0.05).Experi-ments using U87 cells showed that CD44 was normally localized in the cell membrane, but for CD44 OE it accumu-lated in the cytoplasm.CD44 KD can lead to a decrease in cell viability, increased in cell apoptosis, with the cell migration and invasion ability of CD44 KO also decreasing(P<0.05).Conclusions Low expression of CD44 can decrease viability, migration and invasion of U87 cells and promote apoptosis rate of U87 cells, which leads to the deterioration of GBM and is a related factor potentially affecting the prognosis of GBM patients.
