Objective: To analyze the time-related factors influencing daily blood donation attendance at fixed donation sites in Nanjing and the heterogeneity among sites, and to provide evidence for optimizing site layout and operational management. Methods: Based on daily attendance data from 17 fixed donation sites in Nanjing for the full year of 2025, matched with contemporaneous meteorological and air quality data, a two-stage negative binomial generalized linear mixed model (NB-GLMM) was constructed. In the second stage, site-level static characteristics (number of scenic spots, daily operating hours, number of shopping malls, public transport stops, hospitals, universities, and residential buildings) were additionally incorporated. Model comparison was performed using Akaike information criterion (AIC). Significance of random effects was tested by likelihood ratio test, and site-specific random effects were extracted using empirical Bayes estimation. Robustness of the results was verified through residual diagnostics and multiple sensitivity analyses. Results: The first-stage model showed that rainfall was associated with lower attendance (IRR=0.943, P<0.001); holidays were associated with higher attendance (IRR=1.162, P<0.001); Saturdays and Sundays showed higher attendance than Mondays, with the strongest association on Sundays (IRR=1.195, P<0.001). Temperature exhibited a non-linear relationship (linear term P=0.051, quadratic term P=0.036). The joint results of the linear and quadratic terms for temperature suggested a nonlinear relationship between attendance and temperature. After introducing static characteristics in the second stage, the number of scenic spots (IRR=1.372, P=0.008) and daily operating hours (IRR=1.823, P<0.001) were found to be positively associated with attendance, while the numbers of shopping malls, public transport stops, hospitals, universities, and residential buildings showed no significant effects. Conclusion: Daily blood donation attendance at fixed sites in Nanjing is influenced by multiple factors including weather, day of the week, holidays, and site surroundings. Substantial heterogeneity exists among different sites; extended operating hours and more nearby scenic spots are associated with increased attendance.

Objective To analyze the prevalence and risk factors of sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), and to provide theoretical basis for the prevention of SAS in AD patients. Methods A total of 130 AD patients admitted to the Department of Neurology of Guang'an People's Hospital of Sichuan Province from January 2019 to September 2022 were selected and divided into control group (without SAS) and observation group (with SAS) according to whether the patients were complicated with SAS{AHI ≥5 times/h}. Snoring, waking at night, dry mouth in the morning, AHI and SaO2 values were compared between the two groups. Clinical data of AD patients, including age, gender, body mass index (BMI), AD course, tobacco and alcohol history, and neurodegenerative diseases, were collected by self-made questionnaire and consulting the patient's electronic medical record bed. Univariate analysis and logistic regression were used to analyze the independent risk factors for SAS in AD patients. Results Among 130 AD patients, 43 cases (33.08%) of SAS occurred. The proportion of snoring, awakening at night, dry mouth in the morning and AHI value in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). SaO2 value in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05). There were significant differences in age, duration of AD, BMI, smoking history, combined hypertension, neurodegenerative disease, PSQI score and PSQI score between the two groups (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that BMI≥28 kg/m2, PSQI score >16 points and CDR score ≥2 points were independent risk factors for SAS in AD patients (P<0.05). Conclusion The incidence of SAS associated with AD is higher, and the main risk factors are BMI≥28 kg/m2, PSQI score >16 and CDR score. Polysomnosis monitoring should be performed regularly to prevent SAS.

Consecutively hospitalized patients with confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan, China were retrospectively enrolled from January 2020 to March 2020 to investigate the association between the use of renin-angiotensin system inhibitor (RAS-I) and the outcome of this disease. Associations between the use of RAS-I (angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) or angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB)), ACEI, and ARB and in-hospital mortality were analyzed using multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression models in overall and subgroup of hypertension status. A total of 2771 patients with COVID-19 were included, with moderate and severe cases accounting for 45.0% and 36.5%, respectively. A total of 195 (7.0%) patients died. RAS-I (hazard ratio (HR)= 0.499, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.325-0.767) and ARB (HR = 0.410, 95% CI 0.240-0.700) use was associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality among patients with COVID-19. For patients with hypertension, RAS-I and ARB applications were also associated with a reduced risk of mortality with HR of 0.352 (95% CI 0.162-0.764) and 0.279 (95% CI 0.115-0.677), respectively. RAS-I exhibited protective effects on the survival outcome of COVID-19. ARB use was associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality among patients with COVID-19.

Objective To investigate the application significance of 3.0T MR three dimensional double-echo steady state(3D-DESS) and three dimensional-true fast imaging with steady-state procession(3D-True FISP) sequences in diagnosis of wrist cartilage of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods 26 patients who were clinically diagnosed with RA underwent wrist MR scans with 3D-DESS and 3D-True FISP sequences, while both sequences' scanning were achieved on 20 of them.340 articular-surface morphological conditions' were observed, which were divided into level 0, level 1 and level 2 damages according to morphological performance, and recorded on 3D-DESS and 3D-True FISP sequence respectively. The diagnostic differences in the number of lesions were compared for two sequences. Results The numbers were 79 and 50 for level 1 damage and 23 and 33 for level 2 damage on 3D-DESS and 3D-True FISP sequence respectively (P<0.05).The artifacts were showed in 14 patients on 3D-True FISP,and only two patients on 3D-DESS.Conclusion 3D-DESS sequence does better than 3D-True FISP in displaying RA wrist cartilage, which is able to provide certain help for treatment and prognosis evaluation of RA.

OBJECTIVETo study the feasibility of magnetron sputtering Cr-Ti-Al-N complex coating as an interlayer on titanium to enhance the titanium-ceramic binding strength.
METHODSWith a three-point bending test according to ISO 9693, the binding strength of Duceratin (Degussa) to titanium substrate prepared with 4 different surface treatments (polishing, polishing and megnetron sputtering Cr, Ti, Al, and N complex coating, sandblasting, sandblasting and coating) was evaluated. Ti/porcelain interface and fractured Ti surface were examined using scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS).
RESULTSThe binding strength of polished and coated titanium/Duceratin was significantly higher than polished titanium group (P<0.05). The binding strength of sandblasted and coated titanium/Duceratin did not differ significantly from that of sandblasted titanium group (P>0.05), and the strength in the two sandblasted titanium groups was significantly higher than that in polished and coated titanium group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONMegnetron sputtering Cr-Ti-Al-N complex on polished titanium can increase the titanium/porcelain binding strength. Megnetron sputtering coating is a promising Ti/porcelain interlayer.
