1.Experience of SHU Qijin in Diagnosing and Treating Salty Taste in the Mouth after Anti-tumor Therapy

[Objective]To summarize Professor SHU Qijin's academic experience in diagnosing and treating salty taste in the mouth after anti-tumor therapy.[Methods]Through learning from teacher in outpatient,reading ancient books and analyzing the medical records,this paper arranged Professor SHU's medical records of salty taste in the mouth after anti-tumor therapy and introduced his clinical experience in treating that from following aspects:etiology and pathogenesis,principles and laws of treatment,and provided one medical case as evidence.[Results]Professor SHU believes that salty taste in the mouth after anti-tumor therapy is closely related to overgrowth of the kidney fluid due to the imbalance of Yin and Yang and dampness caused by unrestriction of water-liquid metabolism of the kidney and spleen,and briefly summarizes the treatment principles in three aspects:reconciling and replenishing Yin and Yang of the kidney,invigorating the spleen and eliminating dampness.The attached medical record was identified as fire excess from Yin deficiency and damp abundance.Professor SHU treated the case by nourishing Yin and reducing fire as well as invigorating the spleen and eliminating dampness,modified Zhibai Dihuang Pill and Pingwei Powder was used for treatment and good results were achieved.[Conclusion]In the treatment of salty taste in the mouth after anti-tumor therapy,Professor SHU adheres to comprehensive analysis by the four examination methods and advocates flexible syndrome differentiation.Professor SHU's academic experience is rich and clinical curative effect is remarkable.Summarizing his medication characteristics has high guiding significance for the clinical application.
2.Formulation and analysis of comprehensive quality competency evaluation scale for medical graduates

Objective:To meet the demand of medical system for talents, the training of medical students' competency has become a new direction of medical education. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of training quality in medical graduates through the competency scale.Methods:Taking "attitude", "skill" and "knowledge" as the evaluation dimensions, the competency development was divided into four levels of "state", "explain", "apply" and "transfer", and we proposed the competence concept of "A.S.K.-SEAT" and formulated an evaluation scale. Questionnaires and behavior event interviews (BEI) were conducted in medical graduates of Shantou University in 2018. Reliability and validity of the questionnaire were evaluated and current situation of different competency items were analyzed.Results:A total of 155 questionnaires were collected with good reliability and validity, and 15 graduates participated in BEI. A total of 21 A.S.K. competency items (including five basic competency items and two discriminating competency items) and SEAT textual descriptions were finally established.Conclusion:A.S.K.-SEAT scale can provide valid references for the competency evaluation of medical graduates.
3.A 28-year retrospective analysis of clinicopathological data of children's renal biopsy

ObjectivesTo investigate the composition of clinical classiifcation and pathological patterns and their rela-tionships and change in children with renal disease undergoing biopsy.MethodsA retrospective analysis of pathological and clinical data obtained from children (≤14 year) with renal disease undergoing biopsy from 1984-1997 and from 1998-2011 was performed.ResultsOne thousand four hundred and sixty-two children underwent renal biopsy in 28 years, and 1313 patients were recruited in this study, 824 males (62.8%) and 489 females (37.2%). The mean age was 9 years and 4 months at renal biopsy. There were 921 children (70.1%) with primary glomerular disease (PGD) and 312 children (23.8%) with secondary glomerular disease (SDG). The main clinical classiifcations of PGD were nephrotic syndrome (NS, 31.2%), isolated hematuria (IH, 16.1%), and acute glomerulonephritis (AGN, 11.0%). The main pathological patterns of PGD were IgA nephrop-athy (IgAN, 27.6%), minimal change disease (MCD, 24.0%), and mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (MsPGN, 16.9%). The main causes of SGD were lupus nephritis (LN, 40.7%), Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura nephritis (HSPN, 34.3%), and hepatitis B virus related glomerulonephritis (HBV-GN, 19.6%). In this 28 years, the composition of PGD was decreased, however, the compositions of SGD and other renal diseases were increased. Compared with 1984-1997, the pathological manifestations of IgAN, MCD and focal segmental glomeralosclerosis were increased, MsPGN, IgMN, and crescentic glomerulonephritis were decreased in 1998-2011. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In SGD patients, HBV-GN was significantly decreased (P<0.05).ConclusionsPGD is the main disease in children undergoing renal biopsy. IgAN is the most common pathological pattern. NS is the most common clinical classiifcation. In this 28 years, the composition of PGD is decreased, SGD and other renal diseases are increased in children undergoing renal biopsy.
