OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the correlation between phase angle and sarcopenia and its diagnostic indexes.METHODS:The PubMed,EMbase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang Data,VIP and SinoMed databases were electronically searched to collect studies on the correlation between phase angle and sarcopenia and its diagnostic indexes from database inception to May 8,2024. Two reviewers independently screened literature,extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies. Meta-analysis was then performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 14.0 software. RESULTS:A total of 50 eligible articles were included. Meta-analysis results showed that compared with the non-sarcopenic population,the phase angle was significantly reduced in sarcopenic patients[standardized mean difference (SMD)=-0.99,95％ confidence interval (CI) (-1.09,-0.90),P<0.00001]. The results of subgroup analysis indicated that the difference of phase angle was more significant in patients with severe sarcopenia and Asian sarcopenia. Moreover,reduction in the phase angle was more obvious in patients with malignant tumors and respiratory diseases with sarcopenia. And skeletal muscle mass index (Pearson's r=0.565,P<0.00001),grip strength (Pearson's r=0.446,P<0.00001),and gait speed (Pearson's r=0.405,P<0.00001) all showed a moderate positive correlation with phase angle. However,appendicular skeletal muscle mass index showed a very weak positive correlation with phase angle (Pearson's r=0.139,P=0.02). CONCLUSION:Phase angle has a significant difference between sarcopenia and non-sarcopenia population,and it is correlated with the diagnostic indexes of sarcopenia to different extents. It suggests that phase angle has some clinical values in the objective diagnosis of sarcopenia. However,the results may be influenced by some factors such as sarcopenia severity and detection instruments of phase angle. Due to the limited quality and quantity of the included studies,more high-quality studies are needed to verify the above conclusion.

Objective To search,evaluate and summarize the relevant evidence of exercise intervention for patients with multiple myeloma,and provide references for medical staff to guide patients to carry out exercise intervention.Methods The researchers conducted a systematical search in national and intemational databases,relevant guideline websites and professional society websites for related clinical decisions,recommended practices,guidelines,evidence summaries,expert consensuses,and systematic reviews for exercise intervention in patients with multiple myeloma since establishment of databases to May 2023.The quality evaluation,extraction and integration for evidence were conducted independently by 2 researchers,respectively.Results A total of 13 studies,including 2 guidelines,8 systematic reviews,2 expert consensuses and 1 randomized controlled trial,were included.There were 23 pieces of best evidence with 5 dimensions,including the exercise intensity effectiveness,contraindications and indications,exercise pre-intervention evaluation,exercise intervention style and intensity,and exercise intervention management.Conclusion The study summarized the best evidence of exercise intervention for patients with multiple myeloma.It is recommended for health professionals to fully consider the clinical situations to develop more detailed personalized exercise intervention programs based on patients'own situation.

Substantial evidence indicates a strong association between snoRNAs and critical clinical features such as tumor pathology and drug resistance. Historically, snoRNA research has concentrated on two classical mechanisms: 2'-O-ribose methylation and pseudouridylation. This review specifically summarizes the novel regulatory mechanisms and functional patterns of snoRNAs in tumors, encompassing transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and post-translational regulation. We further discuss the synergistic effect between snoRNA host genes (SNHGs) and snoRNAs in tumor progression. More importantly, snoRNAs extensively contribute to the development of tumor cell resistance as oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes. Accordingly, we provide a comprehensive review of the clinical diagnosis and treatment associated with snoRNAs and explore their significant potential as novel drug targets.

Objective:To investigate the correlation between fluid attenuated inversion recovery vascular hyperintensities (FVH) -diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) mismatch and the outcomes after endovascular mechanical thrombectomy (EMT) in patients with acute middle cerebral artery M1 segment occlusive stroke.Methods:Patients with middle cerebral artery M1 segment occlusive stroke who received EMT treatment and whose FLAIR images showed FVH in the Affiliated Hospital of Yangzhou University from January 2016 to June 2020 were enrolled retrospectively. The demographics and basic clinical information of the patients were collected. The modified Rankin Scale was used to evaluate the outcomes at 3 months after the onset of symptoms. 0-2 was defined as a good outcome, and >2 was defined as a poor outcome. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the independent influencing factors of clinical outcome. Results:A total of 77 patients were enrolled in the study. Their age was 67.16±9.63 years, 51 were males (66.23%). The baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was 14.16±7.49. Forty patients (51.95%) had a good outcome, and 37 (48.05%) had a poor outcome. Univariate analysis showed that the proportion of patients with FVH-DWI mismatch in the good outcome group was significantly higher than that in the poor outcome group (60.00% vs. 29.73%; χ2=7.103, P=0.008), and baseline NIHSS score (11.60±4.44 vs. 16.92±9.05; t=-3.312, P=0.001) and the proportion of patients with hypertension (65.00% vs. 86.49%; χ2=4.774, P=0.029) were significantly lower than those in the poor outcome group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that FVH-DWI mismatch was independently associated with the good outcomes (odds ratio [ OR] 0.345, 95% confidence interval [ CI] 0.121-0.984; P=0.047), baseline NIHSS score was independently associated with the poor outcomes ( OR 1.133, 95% CI 1.036-1.239; P=0.006). Conclusion:FVH-DWI mismatch was independently associated with the good outcomes after EMT treatment in patients with acute middle cerebral artery M1 segment occlusive stroke.

Objective To compare the incidence of perioperative complications and the degree of traumatic stress reaction between thoracoscopic radical esophagectomy and open radical esophagectomy for esophageal cancer.Methods 97 patients with esophageal cancer in our hospital were divided into group A (thoracoscopic esophagectomy,n =51) and group B (open esophagectomy,n =46) according to the operation method.The group A was given thoracoscopic radical resection of esophageal cancer,while the group B was given open radical resection of esophageal cancer.The operative indexes (intraoperative blood loss,intraoperative fluid volume,operative time,incision length),the incidence rate of perioperative complications,body traumatic stress response indexes [white blood cell count (WBC),serum C-reactive protein (CRP),free thyroxine (FT4)] and tumor markers [squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC),carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125)] were compared between the two groups.Results The group A had less intraoperative blood loss,intraoperative fluid volume and shorter operative time and incision length compare with group B (P ≤ 0.05).The incidence rate of perioperative complications in group A was lower than that in group B (17.65％ vs 36.96％) (P ≤ 0.05).There was no significant difference in the levels of WBC,CRP and FT4 between the two groups at the same time (P ＞ 0.05),so as the levels of SCC and CA125 (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions Compared with open radical esophagectomy,the thoracoscopic esophagectomy had lower incidence of perioperative complications,but there was no significant difference in the degree of traumatic stress reaction between the two methods.
