With the rapid development of competitive sports, the incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is on the rise. Such injuries may shorten athletes′ career and lead to other long-term adverse consequences. Although athletes generally recover well after ACL reconstruction, many still struggle to return to their pre-injury performance levels. Advances in the understanding of ACL anatomy and injury mechanisms, along with the evolution of surgical techniques and rehabilitation methods, have provided more individualized and tailored options for athletes following ACL injuries. However, there is currently no consensus in China regarding surgical and rehabilitation strategies for competitive athletes aiming to return to sports after ACL injuries. To this end, the Sports Medicine Committee of the Chinese Research Hospital Association and the Editorial Board of the Chinese Journal of Trauma jointly formulated the Expert consensus on surgical treatment and rehabilitation for competitive sports athletes returning to sports after anterior cruciate ligament injury ( version 2025), and presented 14 recommendations covering surgical indications, preoperative rehabilitation, surgical timing, surgical strategies and postoperative rehabilitation strategies, aiming to improve the surgical treatment and rehabilitation system for ACL injuries in competitive athletes and facilitate their return to high-level sports performance after injury.

Objective:To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics and diagnosis of high-grade succinate dehydrogenase-deficient renal cell carcinoma (SDH-RCC).Methods:Three cases of high-grade SDH-RCC diagnosed by immunohistochemical staining and/or molecular testing were collected from Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University and 971 Hospital of Navy of Chinese People′s Liberation Army from January 2015 to December 2023. The clinicopathological characteristics and immunohistochemical features were summarized using light microscopy. Two cases were tested for gene mutations by next-generation sequencing. Results:Of the 3 cases, 2 were male and 1 was female. The ages were 49, 61, and 53 years, respectively. Gross examination revealed that all tumors were single nodules with diameters of 7.0, 4.5, and 5.2 cm, respectively, grayish white in color with irregular borders. Cases 1 and 2 exhibited solid cut sections, whereas case 3 had cystic and solid cut sections. Microscopically, all cases had high WHO/ISUP nuclear grade (3 or 4) and overt invasion. Case 1 exhibited a solid, sheet-like growth pattern with numerous scattered glandular ducts or acinar structures. Case 2 displayed a diffusely growth pattern reminiscent of sarcoma. Case 3 demonstrated intracystic papillary and nodular infiltrative growth patterns. Large clear cytoplasmic vacuoles could be observed in the focal areas of case 1 and case 3. Prominent peritumoral lymphocytes in stroma were noted in case 1. Case 1 was diagnosed with regional lymph node metastasis, and case 2 was diagnosed with renal vein thrombosis. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that SDHB and SDHA were deficiently expressed in 3 cases, while PAX8, FH, and INI-1 exhibited diffuse expression. CD10 (1/3), CA9 (1/3), and CK20 (1/3) were occasionally expressed. The Ki-67 proliferation index ranged from 10% to 50%. Two cases underwent next-generation sequencing and were both found to harbor pathogenic mutations in SDHA (case 2 had a frameshift mutation, and case 3 had a splice site mutation). All 3 cases were followed up for 11 to 112 months. Case 2 died 11 months post-operation, while case 1 and case 3 survived for 19 and 112 months, respectively, without any recurrence or metastasis.Conclusions:High-grade SDH-RCC is a rare subtype of SDH-RCC. The tumor exhibits various architectural patterns and is often misdiagnosed as other types of renal cell carcinoma. The presence of cytoplasmic vacuoles may be indicative for diagnosis. Compared to typical SDH-RCC, the high-grade subtype generally shows a larger tumor size, higher TNM stage, greater invasive potential, and poorer prognosis. For high-grade SDH-RCC, routine SDHB immunohistochemical staining may be necessary. The occurrence of high-grade SDH-RCC may be associated with mutations in SDHA.

Objective:To evaluate the impact of self-crosslinked hyaluronic acid (SCH) gel on endometrium recovery after artificial abortion. Methods:A multicenter, prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted across 18 hospitals from December 2021 to February 2023, involving 382 women who underwent artificial abortion. Participants were randomly allocated to receive either treatment with SCH gel (SCH group) or no treatment (control group) in a 1∶1 ratio. The primary outcome was endometrium thickness in 14 to 18 days after the first postoperative menstruation. Secondary outcomes included changes in menstrual volume during the first postoperative menstruation, menstruation resumption within 6 postoperative weeks, time to menstruation resumption, duration of the first postoperative menstruation, and incidence of dysmenorrhea. Results:Baseline characteristics of participants were comparable between the two groups (all P>0.05), with 95.3% (182/191) in SCH group and 92.7% (177/191) in the control group completed the study. The postoperative endometrial thickness in SCH group was significantly greater than that in the control group [(9.78±3.15) vs (8.95±2.32) mm; P=0.005]. SCH group also had significantly fewer participants with reduced menstrual volume [23 cases (12.6%, 23/182) vs 31 cases (17.5%, 31/177); P=0.038]. Although SCH group experienced less dysmenorrhea during the first postoperative menstrual period, this difference was not statistically significant [28.5% (51/179) vs 37.1% (65/175); P=0.083]. Outcomes were similar between SCH group and the control group regarding the proportion of participants who resumed menstruation within 6 weeks postoperatively, time to menstruation resumption, and duration of the first postoperative menstruation ( P=0.792, 0.485, and 0.254, respectively). No serious adverse events were observed during the study period, and no adverse events were attributed to SCH gel treatment. Conclusion:The application of SCH gel after artificial abortion is safe and might aid in the recovery of the endometrium.

A teaching clinic is an outpatient clinic specialized for teaching, where trainees are responsible for medical activities such as medical history taking, physical examination, and diagnosis and treatment, under the assistance and guidance of teachers. Only a few hospitals in China have built up teaching clinics for standardized training of pediatric residents. This paper summarizes the experience in the operation management of the standardized residency training teaching clinic in Children's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The teaching clinic takes teaching as its core task, adheres to humanistic care, and follows the principle of hierarchical progression. Its operation involves organizational approval, preliminary arrangements, outpatient appointments, the implementation of teaching activities, and other processes, which are carried out under organizational management and quality management. We have explored a preliminary strategy for evaluating the teaching effects of teaching clinics, and proposed some suggestions for the future development of pediatric residency training teaching clinics such as increasing objective evaluation methods and increasing pediatric subspecialty teaching clinics.

Objective To investigate the correlation between Yes-associated protein(YAP)nuclear expression and tumor size with prognosis of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC)and to study the role of YAP in EOC.Methods 120 patients with EOC were selected as the experimental group, including 38 patients with early stage(Ⅰ+Ⅱ)EOC and 8 2 patients with advanced stage(Ⅲ+Ⅳ)EOC.3 0 normal ovarian tissues obtained from patients with uterine leiomyoma were enrolled as the control group.Immunohistochemical(IHC)assay was em-ployed to determine YAP expression and sub-location.The relationship between YAP expression and the pathologi-cal parameters of the 120 patients with EOC was analyzed,so as to the prognosis of these patients.EOC cells(C13K and OV2008)were cultured with varying initial cell volumes.Ki67 expression and cell proliferation were tested by immunofluorescence and cloning assay respectively.YAP expression at mRNA and protein levels were de-tected by q-PCR and Western blot respectively when the cell conference of EOC cells reached to low(60%)and high(90%)cell density. Results The YAP nuclear expression was significantly higher in the EOC group com-pared to the control group(P<0.05).The average diameter of stage Ⅰ+Ⅱ EOC was larger than that of stage Ⅲ+Ⅳ EOC(P<0.01).The high nuclear expression of YAP was positively associated with pathological grade, clinical stage and the level of Ca125>1 000 IU/ml,while negatively correlated with tumor size(all P<0.05).Survival analyses showed that smaller tumor size(<10 cm)and higher YAP nuclear expression were negatively as-sociated with the 3-year overall survival rate of EOC patients(P<0.01).C13K and OV2008 cells cultured in the low density group exhibited a high number of clone formation, high Ki67 and YAP expression(P<0.01).The down-regulation of YAP expression could decrease the cell viability of EOC cells in the low-and high-density groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Higher level of YAP nuclear expression and smaller tumour size are inversely associated with the clinical prognosis of patients with EOC.Inhibiting YAP nuclear expression leads to a decrease in the prolif-eration capacity of EOC cells.
