Objective To characterize working memory performance in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS)and spleen-deficiency syndrome and to examine its associations with clinical symptoms by Sternberg working memory task(SWMT).Methods 31 CFS patients meeting both CDC-1994 criteria and consensus criteria for spleen-deficiency pattern were recruited from outpatient clinics and universities from September 2022 and June 2025.31 healthy controls were also recruited based on age,sex,and education.All subjects completed the SWMT.Group differences were analyzed.Within the CFS cohort,reaction time(RT)was correlated with scores on the checklist individual strength(CIS),36-item short-form health survey(sf-36),and fatigue scale-14(FS-14).Mediation was examined.Results RT lengthened with increasing memory load in both groups.CFS patients displayed slower RTs than controls in the baseline and 6-digit set(P<0.05).The 3-digit RT difference,though not significant(P>0.05),yielded a medium effect size(r=0.36).Accuracy did not differ between two groups.Among CFS patients,3-digit RT correlated positively with CIS total and the 4 sub-scale scores.6-digit RT correlated with the SF-36 health-transition dimension(r=0.396,P=0.027).CIS and FS-14 scores directly impaired SF-36 social functioning without working-memory mediating.Conclusion CFS patients with spleen-deficiency exhibit slowed processing speed rather than capacity loss.The close link between working-memory slowing and fatigue suggests a distinct neural basis.These results support the traditional concept"the spleen stores Yi"and integrate TCM pattern differentiation with modern cognitive neuroscience in CFS.

Objective To explore their inter-relationship,cognitive performance and cardio-electroencephalographic coupling in coronary heart disease(CHD)patients with heart-qi deficiency pattern were characterized.Methods Thirty CHD patients who met the diagnostic criteria for heart-qi deficiency were enrolled.Thirty healthy volunteers without heart-qi deficiency or CHD served as controls.Cognitive function was assessed with the repeatable battery for the assessment of neuropsychological status(RBANS).Simultaneous resting-state electrocardiogram and electroencephalogram were recorded,and the strength of heart-brain coupling was quantified by calculating the maximal information coefficient(MIC)between heart-rate variability(HRV)and EEG signals.Results Compared with controls,heart-qi deficiency CHD patients showed lower RBANS total scores and reduced performance in immediate memory,visuospatial/constructional ability,and attention.Significant between-group differences in HRV-EEG MIC values were observed at several channels(P<0.05).In patients,the MIC values for HRV-Beta(channel FC1)and HRV-Delta(channel F2)were positively correlated with RBANS total score(P<0.05).Conclusion CHD patients with heart-qi deficiency exhibit impaired cognition and altered cardio-electroencephalographic coupling.These findings suggest that heart-brain interactions may contribute to the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying cognitive decline in this population.

Objective The objective of this study was to explore the value of enhanced recovery surgery(ERAS)in perioperative period of laparoscopic assisted colorectal cancer surgery.Methods From November 2015 to July 2016,86 patients with colorectal cancer treated with colorectal surgery were divided into ERAS group and routine treatment group.All patients underwent laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer.The operative situation,postoperative recovery and complications were analyzed in this study.Results There was no difference in the operation time and bleeding volume between the operation group and the conventional treatment group(P>0.05).The postoperative ventilation and defecation time in the ERAS group were earlier than those in the routine treatment group.The postoperative hospital stay and the postoperative pain score were lower than those in the routine treatment group.The rate of postoperative complications was lower than that in the routine treatment group(P<0.05).Conclusion The operation of laparoscopic colorectal cancer under the guidance of ERAS can help patients to recover from hospital,shorten the hospitalization time and reduce the cost of hospitalization.The further application of ERAS should be combined with various disciplines.

Objective To study the characteristics of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in patients with lung cancer,gastric cancer and breast cancer.Methods Five hundred and eight patients with cancer from the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (256 cases with lung cancer,152 cases with gastric cancer,100 cases with breast cancer),and 50 healthy volunteers were collected.Two ml peripheral blood were obtained from these cases.The distribution of lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood was measured by flow cytometry in these cases.The data were analyzed using SPSS 16.0 software.Results The number of lymphocytes of cancer patients was decreased,the healthy volunteers was 5125,breast cancer patient was 3642,gastric cancer patient was 3178,lung cancer patient was 2895.The case of outliers of lymphocyte subsets classified based on the three kinds of cancer was 218 (85.2％,lung cancer),133 (87.5％,gastric cancer),88 (88.0％,breast cancer).The case of outliers of T-lymphocyte subsets classified based on the three kinds of cancer was 83 (32.4％,lung cancer),32 (32.0％,breast cancer),44 (28.9％,gastric cancer).The case of outliers of CD4 +/CD8 + classified based on the three kinds of cancer was 185 (72.3％,lung cancer),108 (71.1％,gastric cancer),84 (84.0％,breast cancer).The case of outliers of natural killer-lymphocyte subsets classified based on the three kinds of cancer was 32 (12.5％,lung cancer),22 (14.5％,gastric cancer),16 (16.0％,breast cancer).The case of outliers of B-lymphocyte subsets classified based on the three kinds of cancer was 38 (14.8％,lung cancer),52 (34.2％,gastric cancer),12 (12.0％,breast cancer).Compared to healthy subjects,the CD19+％ of patients with lung cancer was decreased (12.8 ± 5.0 vs.11.5 ± 5.7,t =3.006,P =0.003);the CD4 + ％ of patients with gastric cancer was decreased (39.2 ±7.7 vs.35.3 ± 7.6,t =2.315,P =0.023);the CD19 + ％ of patients with gastric cancer was decreased (12.8 ± 5.0 vs.8.9 ± 4.2,t =3.302,P =0.010);the CD8 + ％ of patients with breast cancer was increased (24.0 ± 8.1 vs.29.1 ± 13.0,t =2.019,P =0.047).Conclusion The number of lymphocytes in cancer patients is decreased,the abnormal rates of lymphocyte subsets in the three kinds of cancer patients are higher than those in healthy volunteers,the lymphocyte subsets of different kinds of cancers perform different characteristics.

Objective: To study the correlation between intestinal mucosa injuries and inflammatory reaction in cancer cachexia mice. Methods: 14 male BALB/c mice were randomized into two groups: control group and tumor-bearing group.For tumor-bearing group,a suspension of 10 6 murine colon 26 adenocarcinoma cells was inoculated s.c into each mouse.Non-tumor body weight,intestinal villus height,width,basal layer thickness and muscular layer thickness,TNF-?,IL-1,IL-6,IL-10,IFN-?,sTNF-RⅠand sTNF-RⅡ in the serum and intestinal tissue were determined at the 16th day following the inoculation. Results: The non-tumor body weight and intestinal villus height and basal layer width in tumor-bearing group were lost significantly as compared with control group.The concentration of serum TNF-?,IL-6,sTNF-RⅠwere higher and the level of serum IL-10 was less in tumor-bearing group.The concentration of intestinal tissue TNF-? was higher but the IL-1,IFN-?,sTNF-RⅠ and sTNF-RⅡ were less in the tumor-bearing group. Conclusion: The intestinal mucosa injuries have close relation with the inflammatory reactions in cancer cachexia.
