Thymocyte selection-associated high mobility group box (TOX), a member of the high mobility group protein super-family, plays an important role in T cell development, functional maintenance, and exhaustion. It has been recently found that TOX exerts critical immunoregulatory functions during pathogen infections, and TOX expression is strongly associated with the intensity and tolerance of host immune responses. This review systematically summarizes the structural and functional features of TOX and focuses on its expression dynamics, mechanisms of action, and immunomodulatory effects during viral, bacterial, and parasitic infections, which provides a theoretical support to better understanding of the role of TOX in infectious diseases and provides new insights into development of potential immunotherapeutic strategies targeting TOX.

Objective To compare the short-term efficacy and safety of low temperature plasma radiofre-quence ablation(LA)vs.high voltage long duration pulsed radiofrequency(HL-PRF)in the treatment of cervico-genic headache(CEH).Methods Eighty patients with cervicogenic headache were divided two groups:one treated with low temperature plasma radiofrequence ablation group as group L(n = 50)and the other treated with high voltage long duration pulsed radiofrequency group as group H(n = 30).The two groups were compared in terms of the score by the Visual Analog Scale,score by the Range of Motion Scale,postoperative pain relief rate,postop-erative complication incidence,1,4,12,and 24 weeks after the operation,as well as the therapeutic effectiveness and safety.Results Both groups showed significantly lower VAS and ROM scores after operation(P<0.05).Compared with group L,group H had significantly lower VAS(all P<0.05)but insignificantly lower ROM scores(all P>0.05)at each time point.At T4,group H had significantly higher therapeutic effectiveness rate(P<0.05)and higher incidence of scalp numbness at T3,as compared to group L(P<0.05).Conclusion The low tempera-ture plasma radiofrequency ablation and high voltage long duration pulsed radiofrequency both are effective and safe in the treatment of CEH,the latter approach can achieve better therapeutic effectiveness 24 weeks after the operation than the former.

Objective To investigate the status quo of health literacy,motivation and self-management behaviours of patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA),to explore the influence of health literacy and motivation on self-management behaviours to the patients with KOA,and to clarify the relationships among the three factors.Methods Convenience sampling method was used to select 169 KOA patients who were treated in 3 tertiary hospitals in Xianyang between September and December 2021.General status table,chronic disease health literacy scale,patient motivation scale and chronic disease self-management behaviour scale were employed in the on-the-spot survey.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation of health literacy,motivation and self-management behaviour of patients with KOA.Results Total scores of health literacy,motivation and self-management behaviour of the patients with KOA were 79.66±11.91,54.97±9.95 and 23.75±8.89,respectively.It was found that health literacy and motivation of the patients were positively correlated with their self-management behaviour(r=0.872,r=0.822,both P<0.01).Health literacy of the patients was positively correlated with motivation of patients(r=0.877,P<0.01).Health literacy of the patients could be used to directly predict self-management behaviour of patients(β=0.708,95%CI:0.539-0.876),as well as to predict self-management behaviour of the patients through the mediating effect of patient motivation(β=0.228,95%CI:0.676-0.787).The mediating effect accounted for 24.36%of the total effect.Conclusions The health literacy,motivation and self-management behaviours of patients with KOA are all poor and they should be further improved.Patient motivation is the mediating variable in health literacy and self-management behaviour of the patients.It is suggested that nursing staff could encourage the motivation of patients hence to improve the self-management behaviour in the patients with KOA based on an improvement of health literacy.

Relativity between prescription and syndrome is a theory of clinical syndrome differentiation by exploring the inherent laws between prescriptions and diseases， and it is also a unique syndrome differentiation thoughts， which is the core and essence of syndrome differentiation and treatment. Relativity between prescription and syndrome was initially recorded in Treatise on Febrile Diseases（《伤寒论》）. Prescriptions include empirical prescription， classic prescription， and current prescription. Syndrome is symptom， but also pathogenesis. Relativity between prescription and syndrome means that the prescription corresponds to pathogenesis. The disease manifests itself differently in different patients， meanwhile the symptom changes at different stages. Therefore， simply applying the original classic prescription cannot better reflect the syndrome differentiation principle of “changing treatment with syndromes”， nor does it solve complex clinical problems. Mastering the principle of relativity between prescription and syndrome can improve the accuracy of the syndrome differentiation and understand the constant changes， thus grasping the core and essence of the syndrome differentiation. The classic prescription and its syndrome have the most fixed relationship， so that the classic prescription can be used as a typical representative to explore the relativity between prescription and syndrome. Based on Treatise on Febrile Diseases， this paper summarized the relativity between prescription and syndrome into nine principles， including using medical classics to classify syndromes， using prescriptions to classify syndromes， focusing on the main syndromes， changing prescriptions when the main syndromes change， changing medicines with syndrome changing， modifying prescriptions according to syndromes， changing dosage according to syndromes， syndrome differentiation according to pulse， and syndrome differentiation according to time. Through analyzing the content in Treatise on Febrile Diseases， this paper described the application of the nine principles to explore the scientific connotation and improve the accuracy of syndrome differentiation， thereby expanding the range of classic prescription applications and providing references for the flexibly application of classic prescriptions and improvement of clinical efficacy.

Objective:To investigate the effects of Bcl3 gene knockout on the composition of spleen immune cells and antitumor ability of mice.Methods:Bcl3 gene knockout mice (Bcl3 -/-) were established by CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology. Blood routine test and flow cytometry were used to detect the immune cell composition in Bcl3 -/- mice. Lung metastasis models were established by injecting mice with B16F10 melanoma cells. The number of tumor nodules in lung and the survival time of mice were used to assess the antitumor ability of wild-type (WT) and Bcl3 -/- mice. Results:Bcl3 -/- mice were successfully bred to a strain with normal growth rate and normal breeding performance. Furthermore, no embryonic death occurred. Compared with WT mice, Bcl3 -/- mice showed splenomegaly and a significant increase in the number of spleen immune cells ( P<0.05). The counts and percentages of platelets and neutrophils in Bcl3 -/- mice were significantly lower than those in WT mice. The proportion of CD19 + B cells showed no significant change, while the proportions of CD3 + T cells and T cell subsets (CD4 + , CD8 + , Treg) increased significantly ( P<0.05). The proportions of NK cells (NK1.1 + ) and neutrophils (Gr1 + ) decreased ( P<0.05), while no significant change in the proportion of DC (CD11b + ) was observed. There were a large number of tumor nodules formed by melanoma cells in the lung of Bcl3 -/- tumor bearing mice, and their survival time was shortened dramatically. Conclusions:Knockout of Bcl3 gene affected the development, differentiation and function of immune cells, thereby reducing the antitumor ability of mice.

The common Japanese Kampo medicine issued by MHLW was sorted and analyzed, record total ingredients, average dosage, total dosage of general prescription, maximal and minimal dosage of general prescription of Japanese Kampo was originated from the classic prescription. The ingredients of each prescription medicine was relatively less, and mostly composed of 4 to 9 ingredients. The average dosage was less, around 15-25 g and the average dosage of single drug was 3.16 g. The dose of Japanese Kampo medicine was relatively less, and it was only about 1/4 of the drug used in Chinese mainland. The reasons were related to many factors like historical evolution of Chinese prescription, the habit of taking medicine, people’s constitution of different nations and so on.

Objective: To investigate the effects of human adult T lymphoblastic leukemia virus typeⅠ (HTLV-1) infection on the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial damage in host cells. Methods: A cell model of HTLV-1 infection was established by co-culturing HTLV-1-positive cell line MT2 with HeLa cells. ROS, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and total mitochondria were detected using specific fluorescence probe labeling method. Cell apoptosis was detected by Annexin V-FITC/PI method. Western blot was performed to detect viral proteins Tax and p19, as well as mitochondrial proteins TIM23 and TOM20. After the treatment of MT2 cells with different concentrations of reverse transcription inhibitors (ZDV), relative viral loads were detected by quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot, and the mass of mitochondria was analyzed by flow cytometry. Results: After co-culturing HeLa cells with MT2 cells for 24 h, the ROS level in host cells increased without obvious cell apoptosis, while the mitochondrial membrane potential, mitochondrial protein expression and total mitochondria decreased significantly. When the replication of HTLV-1 in MT2 cells was inhibited by ZDV, the ROS level and total mitochondria increased. Conclusions HTLV-1 infection can cause oxidative stress in host cells, resulting in mitochondrial damage. Autophagy might be activated to degrade mitochondrial damage and maintain cell homeostasis during the infection.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of D5F3 and Survivin in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Methods 100 patients with non - small cell lung cancer admitted in our hospital from January 2016 to June 2017 were examined by immunohistochemical method, to analyze the clinical value of D5F3 and Survivin antibody in non - small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Results The coincidence rate of D5F3 was (20％), (++) was 33.33％, and the coincidence rate was (87.50％), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The positive rate of Survivin protein expression was correlated with the differentiation degree of non-small cell lung cancer, TNM stage and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). Conclusion D5F3 has high accuracy, sensitivity and specificity, and has important clinical diagnostic value; The detection of Survivin expression is helpful for clinical differentiation, clinical staging and lymph node metastasis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

Objective:To evaluate the safety of cardiac catheterization intervention therapy and transthoracic small incision surgery in the occlusion bydomestic occluder under echocardiography guiding in patients with atrial septal defect (ASD).Methods:A total of 1 080 patients with ASD in the occlusion by domestic occluder were analyzed retrospectively,and the interventional treatment were performed in 734 cases through cardiac catheterization intervention therapy and 346 cases through transthoracic small incision surgery.The patients undergone cardiac catheterization intervention therapy were guided under the digital substraction angiography (DSA) and were monitored by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) in the whole interventional process,and the efficacy was evaluated with TTE.The occlusion of transthoracic small incision surgery was guided under the transesophageal echocardiography (TEE),which was used to monitor the position of occluder and evaluate the efficacy immediately.Results:Two kinds of intervention in the occlusion by domestic occluder had achieved satisfactory results in patients with ASD.There was no statistically difference in the longest size of ASD between the 2 intervention methods,while there were statistically differences in the ratio between ASD longest diameter and atrial septal length,and the size of the occlusion,and the disparity between the size of the occluder and ASD longest diameter (D value),respectively (all P＜0.05).When the size of arithmetic mean of the ASD was ＜30 mm,the success rate of the 2 methods was both 100％.When the size of arithmetic mean of the ASD was ≥ 30 mm,the success rate was 100％ in the transthoracic small incision surgery and 50％ in the cardiac catheterization intervention therapy.Conclusion:Domestic occluder is safe.Compared with the imported one,its cost is lower.When the size of the defects is same,the occlusion is smaller in the transthoracic small incision surgery compared with that in the cardiac catheterization intervention therapy.When the size of arithmetic mean of the ASD is ≥ 30 mm,the success rate of the transthoracic small incision surgery is higher compared with the cardiac catheterization intervention therapy.When the cardiac catheterization intervention therapy fails,the transthoracic small incision surgery may be a better choice.

Objective To observe the curative effect of cervicogenic headache(CEH)treatment through the combination of pulse radio frequency(PRF)on the C2 dorsal rootganglion and continuous epidural space block.Methods Sixty patients with CEH in our hospital were randomly divided into groups A and B,30 cases in each group.The group A was treated with combination of PRF on cervical dorsal root ganglion and continuous epidural space block.The group B was treated with PRF on cervical dorsal root ganglion method.The pain VAS scores before treatment and at 1 week,3,6 months after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results Compared with pretreatment,the VSA scores at 1 week,3,6 wonths after treatment in the two groups had statistical difference(P＜0.05),moreover,the VAS score decrease in the group A was better than the group B.All the patients had no nerve and artery injury or infection complications.Conclusion It is safe and effective to treat cervical CEH through the combination of ganglion PRF on the cervical 2 dorsal root and continuous epidural space block.
