[Purpose]To evaluate the liver and kidney safety of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)compounds in the treatment of gastric cancer.[Methods]The clinical data of gastric cancer patients who attended in Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2012 to February 2022 were collected. The results of liver and renal func-tion tests were rated according to National Cancer Institute-Common Terminology Criteria for Ad-verse Events(NCI-CTCAE)V5.0.The patients were divided into 4 groups:TCM group,TCM+chemotherapy/targeted/antivascular therapy group,TCM+TCM preparation group and TCM+chemotherapy/targeted/antivascular therapy+TCM preparation group, and the effects of TCM on liver and renal functions were analyzed.[Results]A total of 7 943 patients were included in the analysis,of which 2 941 cases receiving TCM ≥12 months,1 468 months ≥36 months, and 687 months≥60 months. The highest incidence rate of liver function abnormality was 13.71%,the highest in-cidence rate of grade 3/4 abnormality was 2.58%;the highest incidence of creatinine abnormality was 2.32%,the highest incidence rate of grade 3/4 abnormality was 0.37%in patients with differ-ent duration of taking TCM.Most of liver and renal function abnormalities occurred in the early stage of drug taking. The incidence of liver and renal function abnormalities in the TCM group was lower than that of the other three groups. The incidence of grade 3/4 abnormality for direct biliru-bin(DBIL)in the TCM group was 0.14%,for aspartate transaminase(AST)was 0.11%,for alka-line phosphatase(ALP)was 0.16%,for alanine aminotransferase(ALT)was 0.06%and for total bilirubin(TBIL)was 0.07%,and there was no grade 3/4 creatinine abnormality observed. The ab-normal liver and renal function indexes were not increased with the increase of the length of herbal medicine taking.[Conclusion]The study shows that long term taking TCM drugs and stan-dardized prescriptions for gastric cancer patients are safe.

A 55-year-old male patient presented with plaques on the face for more than 20 years, and no immunodeficiency diseases were diagnosed.Skin examination showed large areas of pink plaques on the nose, bilateral cheeks and upper oral lips with slight desquamation, verrucous hyperplasia on the dorsal area of the nose, and a bean-sized verrucous protuberance on the tip of the nose.Histopathological examination of the skin lesions revealed pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia in the epidermis and hyphae-like structures in the stratum corneum. Moreover, there was diffuse infiltration of inflammatory cells in the dermis, which mainly included neutrophils, lymphocytes, histiocytes and multinucleated giant cells.Periodic acid-Schiff (PAS)-positive spore-like structures were observed in the multinucleated giant cells.Culture of the lesional tissues on Sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA) medium showed grey-brown villous colonies.Microculture on the potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium yielded dark septate hyphae and pycnidia filled with a large number of spores.Microsphaeropsis arundinis was identified by fungal molecular biological techniques. The patient was diagnosed with cutaneous phaeohyphomycosis caused by Microsphaeropsis arundinis. The patient was treated with CO2 laser for the removal of verrucous protuberance on the tip of the nose, and oral itraconazole capsules at a dose of 200 mg twice a day. After 3-month treatment, the skin lesions subsided and the drug was withdrew.During 6-month follow-up,no relapse occurred.

Objective To survey the mental health status of rural-to-urban migrant workers in Shanghai. Methods The survey subjects were selected from migrant workers in Shanghai with a multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method. The Symptom Check List ( SCL-90 ) scores were used for evaluation of metal health status. Results The prevalence of mental health problem of 5 626 rural-to-urban migrant workers in Shanghai was 18.8% ( 1 058/5 626 ).The mean total score of SCL-90 was 114.86 ±31.21.Compulsive-obsessive, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility ranked the top three among 9 factors, with scores of 1.37 ±0.43, 1.31 ±0.43 and 1.30 ±0.41 respectively. The mean total scores and scores of 9 factors of rural-to-urban migrant workers in Shanghai were lower than those of Chinese adults norm the mean total scores(129.96 ±38.76) ( t =-15.34, -3.84 --24.08 respectively, all P <0.01) .There were significant differences in mental health among migrant workers with different age , education , marital status , living conditions and occupation (all P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of mental health problems in Shanghai rural-to-urban migrant workers is high, with are related to their age, education, marital status, living conditions and occupation.
