Digital technologies have become an integral part of complete denture restoration. With advancement in computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), tools such as intraoral scanning, facial scanning, 3D printing, and numerical control machining are reshaping the workflow of complete denture restoration. Unlike conventional methods that rely heavily on clinical experience and manual techniques, digital technologies offer greater precision, predictability, and efficacy. They also streamline the process by reducing the number of patient visits and improving overall comfort. Despite these improvements, the clinical application of digital complete denture restoration still faces challenges that require further standardization. The major issues include appropriate case selection, establishing consistent digital workflows, and evaluating long-term outcomes. To address these challenges and provide clinical guidance for practitioners, this expert consensus outlines the principles, advantages, and limitations of digital complete denture technology. The aim of this review was to offer practical recommendations on indications, clinical procedures and precautions, evaluation metrics, and outcome assessment to support digital restoration of complete denture in clinical practice.

Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2024;42(7):481-486
Objective:To investigate the effects of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) on neutrophil hypoxia and pyroptosis through nucleotide binding of oligomeric domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, and to analyze the role of pyroptosis on respiratory tract inflammotion induced by ZnO-NPs.Methods:In October 2022, primary cultured neutrophils were obtained from the abdominal aortic blood of SPF adult healthy SD rats. The neutrophils were treated with ZnO-NPs solution (0, 5, 10, 20 μg/ml) at different concentrations, and hypoxia group (5% O 2) was set up. Hypoxia and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were detected by flow cytometry, and the expression levels of NLRP3, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC), cleaved Caspase-1 were measured by Western blot. The activity of lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) in the cell supernatant was measured by coloration, and the content of interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) in cell culture supernatant was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) . Results:Compared with the control group, hypoxia and ROS levels of neutrophils in hypoxia group and ZnO-NPs groups were significantly increased ( P<0.05), and NLRP3, ASC, cleaved Caspase-1 protein expression levels, LDH activity and IL-1β content were significantly increased ( P<0.05). Compared with hypoxia group, hypoxia and ROS levels of neutrophils in 5 μg/ml and 10 μg/ml ZnO-NPs groups were significantly decreased ( P<0.05), NLRP3, ASC, cleaved Caspase-1 protein expression levels, LDH activity, and IL-1β content were decreased significantly ( P<0.05). There were no significant differences in hypoxia, ROS levels, ASC, cleaved Caspase-1 protein expression levels, LDH activity, and IL-1β content between the 20 μg/ml ZnO-NPs group and the hypoxia group ( P>0.05) . Conclusion:ZnO-NPs treatment may activate the NLRP3 inflammasome to induce pyroptosis of neutrophils which may be related to ROS and hypoxia.

Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), programmed death receptor 1 (PD-1) inhibitors and programmed death receptor-ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitors in the treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC).Methods:The databases of CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, China Biology Medicine disc, PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Clinical Controlled Trial Center Registry (CENTRAL) were retrieved, and the randomized controlled trial literature on the treatment of ES-SCLC with immune checkpoint inhibitors published from the establishment of the database until October 4, 2023 were reviewed. After screening literature and extracting data according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, the risk of bias in the study was evaluated using Review Manager 5.4 software. The disease remission, prognosis and adverse events (AE) of patients treated with ICI combined with chemotherapy (experimental group) and placebo± chemotherapy (control group) in the whole group and liver metastases and brain metastases subgroups were compared. Results:A total of 11 randomized controlled trials were included, with 2 243 cases in the experimental group and 2 059 cases in the control group. The included research data were complete and showed no selective bias. Compared with the control group, the objective response rate (ORR) of patients in the experimental group was higher [control group vs. experimental group, 64% (864/1 358) vs. 70% (1 088/1 532), RR = 1.08 (95% CI: 1.03-1.14), P = 0.003], and the difference was statistically significant; progression free survival (PFS) [experimental group vs. control group, the median PFS time, 5.14 months (95% CI: 4.88-5.40 months) vs. 4.76 months (95% CI: 4.70-4.82 months), HR = 0.72 (95% CI: 0.67-0.78), P < 0.001] and overall survival (OS) [experimental group vs. control group, the median OS time, 12.89 months (95% CI: 12.18-13.60 months) vs. 10.41 months (95% CI: 10.03-10.79 months), HR = 0.72 (95% CI: 0.67-0.78), P < 0.001] were all improved, and the differences were statistically significant. The OS of patients with baseline liver metastasis in the experimental group was better than that in the control group (experimental group vs. control group, HR = 0.82 (95% CI: 0.71-0.95), P = 0.009], and the difference was statistically significant, while the difference in OS of patients with baseline brain metastases was not statistically significant between the experimental group and the control group [experimental group vs. control group, HR = 0.84 (95% CI: 0.66-1.08), P = 0.170]. The incidence of AE [experimental group vs. control group, 31% (597/1 952) (95% CI: 24%-37%) vs. 14% (255/1 762) (95% CI: 9%-22%), RR = 2.25 (95% CI: 1.67-3.02), P < 0.001] and the incidence of drug discontinuation or dose change caused by AE [experimental group vs. control group, 21% (379/1 774) (95% CI: 12%-41%) vs. 19% (307/1 588) (95% CI: 6%-25%), RR = 1.20 (95% CI: 1.07-1.33), P = 0.001] in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant. However, the incidence of severe (≥grade 3) AE in both the experimental group and the control group was 34% (620/1 814, 557/1 632) (both 95% CI: 32%-36%), and the difference was not statistically significant [experimental group vs. control group, RR = 1.00 (95% CI: 0.91-1.10), P = 0.960]. The incidence of hypothyroidism [experimental group vs. control group, 11% (118/1 083) (95% CI: 9%-13%) vs. 1% (11/886) (95% CI: 0-2%), RR = 8.56 (95% CI: 4.63-15.80), P < 0.001] and the incidence of hyperthyroidism [experimental group vs. control group, 7% (75/1 083) (95% CI: 5%-8%) vs. 2% (17/886) (95% CI: 1%-4%), RR = 3.27 (95% CI: 1.95-5.46), P < 0.001] in the experimental group were both higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant. Conclusions:ICI combined with chemotherapy can effectively improve the OS, PFS and disease remission of patients with ES-SCLC, as well as improve the survival of patients with liver metastases. However, there is no benefit in the survival of patients with brain metastases. The incidence of immune-mediated AE to ICI combined with chemotherapy has increased, but the overall safety is good.

Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2024;33(9):860-864
Burnout is a complex syndrome, which is characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. Existing researches had demonstrated that burnout impairs cognitive functions, including executive function, memory and attention, with most studies focusing on behavioral aspects. This paper systematically reviewed previous burnout-related researches, including the changes in neural electrical activity, as well as alterations in brain structure and function which affected cognitive performance. The paper highlighted the negative impact of burnout on cognitive abilities and explored its underlying neural mechanisms. Additionally, it identified that cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive training, and aerobic exercise were effective interventions for managing burnout. Therefore, future research can be conducted by investigating intervention studies that focus on the impairment of cognitive ability and brain function, as well as burnout at varying degrees of severity. Furtherly, the interventions designed to prevent burnout and the development of proactive burnout prevention questionnaires for different groups are highly warranted.

Objective:
To evaluate the image quality of novel dark-blood computed tomography angiography (CTA) imaging combined with deep learning reconstruction (DLR) compared to delayed-phase CTA images with hybrid iterative reconstruction (HIR), to visualize the cervical artery wall in patients with Takayasu arteritis (TAK).
Materials and Methods:
This prospective study continuously recruited 53 patients with TAK (mean age: 33.8 ± 10.2 years; 49 females) between January and July 2022 who underwent head-neck CTA scans. The arterial- and delayed-phase images were reconstructed using HIR and DLR. Subtracted images of the arterial-phase from the delayed-phase were then added to the original delayed-phase using a denoising filter to generate the final-dark-blood images. Qualitative image quality scores and quantitative parameters were obtained and compared among the three groups of images: Delayed-HIR, Dark-blood-HIR, and Dark-blood-DLR.
Results:
Compared to Delayed-HIR, Dark-blood-HIR images demonstrated higher qualitative scores in terms of vascular wall visualization and diagnostic confidence index (all P < 0.001). These qualitative scores further improved after applying DLR (Dark-blood-DLR compared to Dark-blood-HIR, all P < 0.001). Dark-blood DLR also showed higher scores for overall image noise than Dark-blood-HIR (P < 0.001). In the quantitative analysis, the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) values between the vessel wall and lumen for the bilateral common carotid arteries and brachiocephalic trunk were significantly higher on Darkblood-HIR images than on Delayed-HIR images (all P < 0.05). The CNR values were significantly higher for Dark-blood-DLR than for Dark-blood-HIR in all cervical arteries (all P < 0.001).
Conclusion
Compared with Delayed-HIR CTA, the dark-blood method combined with DLR improved CTA image quality and enhanced visualization of the cervical artery wall in patients with TAK.
