Objective To systematically review international research on health communication, and to provide valuable insights and reference for China's health communication research and practice. Methods This study included 693 articles published from January 2023 to April 2024 in two authoritative academic journals in the field of health communication, ^“Health Communication^” and the ^“Journal of Health Communication^”. A systematic review was conducted on the themes, theoretical foundations, research methods, and populations of international health communication research. Results The findings in this study revealed that international health communication research topics were diverse, with hotspots including social media, health information behavior, health misinformation, stigmatization, trust, and risk perception. The results showed that 34% of the articles were based on theoretical foundations, and 93.3% employed research methods, focusing on adolescents, parents, women, and other key populations. Conclusion Domestic health communication research can expand its perspective from ^“information transmission^” to ^“social interaction^”, innovate theories and methods from ^“single paradigm" to ^“multi-integration^” and shift focus from a ^“mass perspective^” to ^“targeted care^” for the health of all populations. Domestic health communication practice can delve into the localization of social media health communication practices, the comprehensive management of health misinformation, and the critical application of new technologies.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of different fermentation methods and times on the fungal flora and chemical composition of Aurantii Fructus， in order to obtain the optimal fermentation conditions and flora structure， and to ensure the stability and controllability of the fermented varieties. MethodsScanning electron microscopy was used to observe and analyze the colony characteristics on the surface of Aurantii Fructus under different fermentation conditions. Internal transcribed spacer 2（ITS2） high-throughput sequencing， combined with fungal community diversity analysis and fungal community structure analysis， were used to obtain the fungal flora microbial categories of Aurantii Fructus under the conditions of traditional pressure-shelf fermentation and non-pressure-shelf natural fermentation for 7， 14， 21 d（numbered Y1-Y3 for the former， and numbered F1-F3 for the latter）， respectively. At the same time， the chemical components in the fermentation process were detected by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry（UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS）， combined with principal component analysis（PCA）， partial least squares-discriminant analysis（PLS-DA） and compound retention time， parent ions， characteristic fragment ions and other information， the differential compounds between the different fermentation samples were screened and identified. ResultsThe analysis of fungal community diversity showed that the dominant flora did not change at different fermentation time points in the traditional pressure-shelf fermentation method， while in the non-pressure-shelf natural fermentation method， there was a significant difference with the fermentation process， and at the genus level， the dominant genus of samples Y1， Y2， Y3 and F2 was Aspergillus， while the dominant genera of samples F1 and F3 were both Rhizopus. This indicated that the microbial growth environment provided by the traditional fermentation method was more stable， and the microbial community structure was more stable， which was more conducive to the stable and controllable fermentation process and fermented products. A total of 155 compounds were identified by compositional analysis， including 70 flavonoids， 38 coumarins， 10 alkaloids， 34 organic acids and 3 other compounds. After fermentation， two new components of ribalinine and pranferin were produced. Different fermentation conditions also brought about differences in chemical composition， multivariate statistical analysis obtained 26 differential compounds under two different fermentation methods， mainly including flavonoids， organic acids and coumarins. Comprehensively， the microbial community structure of samples fermented by the traditional pressure-shelf method of Aurantii Fructus for 14 d was stable， the species richness was high and the overall content of differential compounds was high， which was the optimal processing condition. ConclusionCompared with non-pressure-shelf natural fermentation， the traditional method has obvious advantages in terms of the stability of the microbial community structure and the content of chemical compounds， and the optimal condition is 14 days of fermentation. This study is helpful to promote the quality stability and fermentation bioavailability of fermented products of Aurantii Fructus， as well as to provide an experimental basis for the further improvement of the quality control methods of this variety.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the effectiveness and shoulder function of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) and open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) in the treatment of Neer three/four-part proximal humeral fractures in the elderly. METHODS: Randomized controlled analysis was conducted on 68 patients over 70 years old with Neer three/four-part proximal humeral fractures treated with RTSA or ORIF between January 2020 and June 2022. The patients were randomly divided into RTSA group ( n=32) and ORIF group ( n=36). There was no significant difference ( P>0.05) in the baseline data such as age, gender, body mass index, injured side, Neer classification, and preoperative Charlson comorbidity index, visual analogue scale (VAS) score, Constant shoulder score, Oxford shoulder score (OSS), and hemoglobin (Hb). The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, reduction of Hb on the 3rd day after operation, hospital stay, total cost of hospitalization, complication incidence, range of motion of shoulder joint at 2 years after operation, VAS score before operation and at 5 days and 1 month after operation, Constant shoulder score and OSS score before operation and at 2 years after operation, and imaging results during follow-up were recorded and compared between the two groups. RESULTS: Compared with the ORIF group, the RTSA group had longer operation time, less intraoperative blood loss, and higher total cost of hospitalization ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Hb reduction on the 3rd day after operation between the two groups ( P>0.05). The VAS scores significantly improved in both groups at 5 days and 1 month after operation ( P<0.05), but there was no significant difference between the two groups ( P>0.05). All patients were followed up 26-35 months, with an average of 31.2 months. In the RTSA group, there were 2 cases of poor healing of superficial incision and 1 case of transient nerve injury. There was no complication such as bone resorption around the prosthesis, lucent band, prosthesis loosening, or periprosthetic fracture in all patients. In the ORIF group, there was 1 case of poor healing of superficial incision, 3 cases of nonunion of fracture, 1 case of arthritis secondary to humeral head necrosis, and 1 case of bone absorption of large tuberosity, and no displacement or fracture failure of internal fixation was found in all patients. There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications [9.4% (3/32) vs 16.7% (6/36)] between the two groups [ OR (95% CI): 0.828 (0.171, 4.014), P=0.814]. In the RTSA group, 28 cases were graded 0 and 4 cases were graded 1 at 2 years after operation. Constant and OSS scores of RTSA group were significantly better than those of ORIF group ( P<0.05). The Constant score was significantly better than ORIF group in activity and strength, range of motion, lifting, abduction, and external rotation ( P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in pain, daily function, and internal rotation between the two groups ( P>0.05). The RTSA group had a significantly greater range of motion in lifting, abduction, and external rotation than ORIF group ( P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in internal rotation between the two groups ( P>0.05). CONCLUSION Application of RTSA as the initial treatment of Neer three/four-part proximal humeral fractures in the elderly can achieve better rehabilitation of joint activity and lower risk of early reoperation, and improve the quality of life of elderly fracture patients. However, the difficulty of revision and the high cost of treatment require the surgeon to pay full attention and strictly grasp the indications.

Objective To investigate the value of multimodal MRI radiomics in predicting muscle-invasive bladder cancer.Methods A total of 178 patients with pathology diagnosis of bladder cancer were retrospectively collected,including 31 cases of muscle invasive bladder cancer(MIBC)and 147 cases of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC).Patients were randomly divided into training group and testing group at a ratio of 7︰3.The range of bladder tumors in T2WI,diffusion weighted imaging(DWI)and apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)images were segmented as volume of interest(VOI)by using ITK-SNAP software.Radiomics features were extracted through A.K software.The optimal radiomics features were obtained through radiomics algorithm and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)method.Finally,the logistic regression analysis method and random forest model method were used to construct prediction models.The performance of prediction models was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.Results This study constructed four groups of models containing T2WI prediction model,DWI prediction model,ADC prediction model,and T2WI+DWI+ADC prediction model.The area under the curve(AUC)of T2WI,DWI,and ADC prediction models for identifying MIBC and NMIBC were separately 0.920,0.914,and 0.954 in the training group while those were respectively 0.881,0.773,and 0.871 in the testing group.There was no statistical significance between T2WI,DWI,and ADC prediction models.In training and testing groups,the AUC of T2WI+DWI+ADC prediction model were respectively 0.959 and 0.909,which were higher than the single sequence prediction model.The sensitivity and specificity of the training group were 0.905 and 0.853 and the sensitivity and specificity of the testing group were 0.778 and 0.795.Conclusion MRI radiomics prediction model can effectively differentiate MIBC and NMIBC.The T2WI+DWI+ADC prediction model shows better prediction efficiency.

BACKGROUND:Kidney deficiency is the main pathogenesis of osteoporosis.To study the relationship between the two major syndrome types of kidney deficiency,Kidney-Yang deficiency and Kidney-Yin deficiency,is beneficial for the development of clinical diagnosis and treatments based on the combination of disease and syndrome. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the biomechanical differences of the rat femurs with Kidney-Yang deficiency and Kidney-Yin deficiency caused by Yougui pills,and to demonstrate the scientific efficacy of medication based on the combination of disease and syndrome in osteoporosis from a biomechanical perspective. METHODS:The bilateral ovaries of 60 female Sprague-Dawley rats were surgically removed to establish an ovariectomized osteoporosis model.At 10 weeks after modeling,all the rats were randomly divided into a Kidney-Yang deficiency group(n=30)and a Kidney-Yin deficiency group(n=30).Rats with Kidney-Yang deficiency were given gluteal intramuscular injection of hydrocortisone,while rats with Kidney-Yin deficiency were orally administered with thyroid tablet suspension,once a day,for 14 consecutive days.After successful modeling,20 rats in each group were given a suspension of Yougui pills by gavage once a day for 12 consecutive weeks and the remaining 10 rats were used as the control group without intervention.After gavage,the microstructural parameters of the bone were measured using Micro-CT scanning.Three-point bending,finite element simulation,femoral head compression,and surface indentation distribution experiments of the femurs were performed on a mechanical testing machine. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Micro-CT revealed that the femoral bone density,bone volume fraction,bone surface density,trabecular number,and trabecular separation were improved in the Kidney-Yin deficiency+Yougui pills group compared with the Kidney-Yin deficiency group(P＜0.05);the femoral bone volume fraction,bone surface density,trabecular number,and trabecular thickness were improved in the Kidney-Yang deficiency+Yougui pills group compared with the Kidney-Yang deficiency group(P＜0.05).The three-point bending experiment showed that the femur elastic modulus,maximum bending strength and bending fracture strength were decreased(P＜0.05)and toughness was increased(P＜0.05)in the Kidney-Yang deficiency+Yougui pills group compared with the Kidney-Yang deficiency group.Finite element simulation showed that Yougui pills could significantly improve the bending resistance of the femurs in the Kidney-Yang deficiency group,but had no significant effect on the Kidney-Yin deficiency group.The femoral head compression experiments showed that Yougui pills could enhance the ability of the femoral head to resist deformation in the Kidney-Yang deficiency group,but there was no significant difference in the effect of Yougui pills on the surface properties of the femoral head in the Kidney-Yin deficiency group and the Kidney-Yang deficiency group.To conclude,Yougui pills can significantly enhance the biomechanical properties of the osteoporotic bones with Kidney-Yang deficiency,but have no significant effect on the osteoporotic bone with Kidney-Yin deficiency.

Objective: To explore the longitudinal correlation between smartphone multitasking and depressive symptoms, so as to provide an evidence based basis for promoting the mental health of college students. Methods: A total of 967 college students were recruited from one university in Taiyuan, Chongqing, and Shenzhen cities, China, by using multi stage randomized cluster sampling from October to December 2021 at baseline, and a follow up survey was conducted in May 2022. Smartphone multitasking behaviors were assessed by means of the Assessment of Smartphone Multitasking for Adolescents (ASMA), and depressive symptoms were assessed using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) among college students. Chi square tests were performed to compare the differences in depressive symptoms between different groups of demographic characteristics, and binary Logistic regression models were employed to analyze the associations between smartphone multitasking and depressive symptoms among college students. Results: The rates of depressive symptoms among college students at baseline and follow up were 35.2% and 42.3%, respectively. Compared to the low level smartphone multitasking index group at baseline, the moderate and high level groups were more likely to experience depressive symptoms at baseline (moderate level group: OR=1.74, 95%CI =1.22-2.50, high level group: OR=2.77, 95%CI =1.94-3.95) and followup (moderate level group: OR=1.41, 95%CI =1.01-1.95, high level group: OR=1.64, 95%CI =1.17-2.29) ( P <0.05). In addition, compared to the persistently low smartphone multitasking index, increased risk of depressive symptoms was associated with maintaining a moderate to high ( OR=2.94, 95%CI =1.83-4.71), and a higher ( OR=2.07, 95%CI =1.31-3.27) or lower smartphone multitasking index ( OR=2.02, 95%CI =1.27-3.19) ( P <0.05). Moreover, higher smartphone multitasking index scores were positively associated with the risk of new-onset depressive symptoms at follow up ( OR=1.87, 95%CI=1.07-3.27, P <0.05). Conclusions Smartphone multitasking behaviors are find to be associated with an increased risk of depressive symptoms in college students. There is a need to reduce smartphone multitasking in order to decrease depressive symptoms and promote students mental health.

Objective: To explore the association among neck-shoulder pain (NSP), low back pain (LBP) and co occurring symptoms with mental sub health in adolescents, so as to provide evidence for improving physical and mental health of adolescents. Methods: Stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 7 986 students from 12 middle and high schools in Shenzhen, Nanchang, and Shenyang cities from October to December 2019. The Assessment of Spinal Health of Youth (ASHY) and the Brief Instrument on Psychological Health of Youth (BIOPHY) were used to assess NSP, LBP and mental sub health. Binary Logistic regression model was used to analyze the association between NSP, LBP and co occurring symptoms with mental sub health in adolescents. Results: The detection rates of adolescents with NSP, LBP and co occurring symptoms and mental sub health were 9.1% , 9.8%, 9.5%, and 10.0%, respectively. The co occurring rate of neck shoulder pain, low back pain and mental sub health was 3.2%. After adjusting for confounding variables such as gender, age, being an only child, family residence, and parental education level, NSP ( OR=6.01, 95%CI =5.02-7.19), LBP ( OR=5.08, 95%CI =4.25-6.07), and co occurring symptoms ( OR= 5.96 , 95%CI =4.98-7.12) in adolescents were positively correlated with mental sub health risk ( P <0.01). Stratifying the gender, boys with NSP, LBP and co occurring symptoms ( OR =6.84, 5.80, 6.74)had a higher risk of mental sub health compared to girls ( OR =5.52, 4.65, 5.49) ( P <0.01). Conclusions NSP, LBP and co occurring symptoms in adolescents are associated with mental sub health. The mental health status of boys is more affected by NSP, LBP and their co occurring symptoms. Measures should be taken to improve spinal health in adolescents to reduce the incidence of mental sub health.

Objective: To describe the prevalence and association of dietary rhythm and depressive symptoms among adolescents, so as to provide a basis for improving unhealthy behavioral habits,and to promote adolescent physical and mental health. Methods: From October to December 2021, a total of 22 868 students were selected from one middle school and high school in urban and rural areas of eight cities, namely, Shenyang, Xuzhou, Shenzhen, Taiyuan, Nanchang, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, and Kunming cities, China, using a combination of purposive sampling and stratified cluster random sampling. A self administered questionnaire was used to assess adolescents dietary rhythm, and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) was used to assess depressive symptoms. Binary Logistic regression model was employed to analyze the associations between adolescent dietary rhythm and depressive symptoms, while the associations between adolescent dietary rhythm and depressive symptoms across gender and physical activity levels were stratified by gender and physical activity levels. Results: The detection rate of depressive symptoms in adolescents was 44.4%. The respective differences in the detection rates of depressive symptoms among adolescents of different genders, physical activity levels, and dietary rhythm disorders were statistically significant ( χ 2=157.51, 105.02, 3 282.50, P <0.01). Taking the low disordered dietary rhythm group as the reference, binary Logistic regression analyses showed that after adjusting for confounding factors such as age, gender，family location, family economic situation, whether only child, parental education level, and learning burden, physical activity levels, depressive symptoms were positively correlated with adolescents in the moderate disordered dietary rhythm group ( OR=2.63, 95%CI =2.45-2.83) and the high disordered dietary rhythm group ( OR=6.38, 95%CI = 5.93- 6.86). In addition, after stratifying by gender, dietary rhythm were positively correlated with depressive symptoms. The moderate disordered group (male: OR=2.62, 95%CI =2.37-2.89, female: OR=2.67, 95%CI =2.40-2.97) and the highly disordered group (male: OR=5.74, 95%CI =5.19-6.35, female: OR=7.11, 95%CI =6.40-7.89) were positively correlated with depressive symptoms. After stratification by physical activity levels, low, moderate and above physical activity levels among adolescents in the disordered dietary rhythm group (low physical activity: OR=2.91, 95%CI =2.58-3.29, moderate and above physical activity: OR= 2.50, 95%CI =2.28-2.74), high disordered group (low physical activity: OR=6.51, 95%CI =5.94- 7.13 , moderate and higher physical activity: OR=6.18, 95%CI =5.47-6.97) were positively associated with depressive symptoms ( P <0.01). There was an interaction between dietary rhythm and physical activity levels in regard to the development of depressive symptoms in adolescents, taking the group with moderate and above physical activity levels and low disordered dietary rhythm as the reference,the detection rate of which was higher in adolescents with low levels of physical activity and those in the moderate or high disordered dietary rhythm group ( OR=1.50, 3.90, 95%CI=1.39-1.61, 3.63-4.19, P <0.01). Conclusions Dietary rhythm disorders were found to be positively associated with depressive symptoms in adolescents. Regular dietary behaviors and increased physical activity play an important positive role in promoting adolescent mental health.

The incidence of intracranial aneurysms is high, which is the first cause of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage. The preparation of animal models for intracranial aneurysms is becoming increasingly mature, and has played an important role in research fields of etiology and intervention materials for intracranial aneurysms. This article reviews preparation methods and animal selection of animal model for intracranial aneurysms.
