Background Health literacy is closely related to mental health, and improving health literacy has been shown to promote mental well-being. However, whether occupational stress among workers in mining and manufacturing is associated with their occupational health literacy remains inconclusive. Objective To study the levels of occupational health literacy and occupational stress among workers in three industrial sectors (metal ores mining, metal smelting, and manufacture of non-metallic mineral products) in Gansu Province, and to analyze the correlation between them. Methods Between May and December 2024, a stratified cluster random sampling method was employed to survey workers from 73 large, medium, and small and micro sized enterprises across the aforementioned industries in Gansu Province. Participants’ occupational health literacy and occupational stress levels were assessed. The LASSO regression model was applied to identifykey factors influencing occupational stress, and subsequently a multilevel random intercept mixed-effects logistic model was used to study factors influencing occupational stress and to explore the relationship between occupational health literacy and occupational stress. Results A total of

Objective:To investigate the level of occupational health literacy (OHL) of key populations in Gansu Province in 2022, analyze the influencing factors, and provide a scientific basis for the formulation of health education measures for occupational populations. Methods:From April to December 2022, a stratified cluster random sampling method was adopted to select 11472 workers engaged in frontline jobs in 8 key industries across 86 counties and districts in Gansu Province as the research subjects. The "National Occupational Health Literacy Monitoring and Survey Personal Questionnaire" was used to investigate their OHL. The content includes basic demographic information and occupational health literacy level, and the chi-square test analysis was carried out by SPSS 23.0 software, and the influencing factors were analyzed by logistic regression analysis model. Results:In 2022, a total of 11 118 valid questionnaires were completed in Gansu Province, and the OHL level of key populations in Gansu Province was 48.3%. The OHL levels of occupational health legal knowledge, basic knowledge of occupational health protection, basic skills of occupational health protection and healthy working methods were 50.3%, 81.7%, 33.1% and 63.3%, respectively. In the eight key industries, the OHL level of workers from high to low is: ferrous and non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry (56.6%) , non-metallic mineral products industry (56.5%) , ferrous and non-ferrous metal mining and dressing industry (54.3%) , environmental sanitation industry (50.3%) , medical and health industry (49.9%) , education industry (40.9%) , transportation industry (40.4%) , and express delivery/takeaway delivery industry (23.3%) . The results of logistics regression analysis showed that gender, age, ethnicity, marital status, education level, average monthly income, nature and scale of employers, and length of service were the influencing factors of OHL level of front-line workers in eight industries in Gansu Province (all P<0.05) . Conclusion:In 2022, the OHL level of key populations in Gansu Province was 48.3%, which needs to be further improved. Occupational health publicity should be strengthened for low-income, low-educated, newly recruited, young and micro-enterprise occupational groups.

Objective:To explore the risk factors for bronchiolitis obliterans (BO) after Mycoplasma pneumoniae bronchiolitis in children. Methods:A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 122 children diagnosed with Mycoplasma pneumoniae bronchiolitis in Department No.2 of Respiratory Medicine of Beijing Children′s Hospital, Capital Medical University, from March 2017 to December 2024. Clinical data, including general information, clinical manifestations, imaging findings, laboratory tests, and outcomes, were analyzed. Patients were divided into BO and non-BO groups based on the presence of BO. Differences between groups were assessed using Mann-Whitney U test, χ2 test, or Fisher exact test. Logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were employed to identify risk factors and evaluate predictive performance. Results:Among 122 children (73 males, 49 females), the age at onset was 5.0 (2.4, 7.1) years. The BO group included 21 patients, and the non-BO group 101. The BO group exhibited significantly longer durations of persistent high fever and higher peak levels of C-reactive protein, lactate dehydrogenase, and D-dimer compared to the non-BO group (9 (7, 11) vs. 4 (2, 6) d, 19 (7, 35) vs. 10 (7, 18) mg/L, 438 (337, 498) vs. 315 (274, 351) U/L, 0.36 (0.27, 0.91) vs. 0.21 (0.15, 0.29) mg/L, U=295.00, 743.50, 463.50, 470.50, all P<0.05). The BO group also had higher proportions of resting oxygen saturation <0.95 on room air (100.0% (21/21) vs. 43.6% (44/101)), inspiratory retractions (57.1% (12/21) vs. 18.8% (19/101), χ2=11.53), and adenovirus co-infection (38.1% (8/21) vs. 5.0% (5/101)) (all P<0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression identified prolonged high fever ( OR=1.83, 95% CI 1.31-2.58, P<0.001), inspiratory retractions ( OR=10.48, 95% CI 1.72-63.85, P=0.011), and adenovirus co-infection ( OR=42.47, 95% CI 4.04-446.87, P=0.002) as independent risk factors for BO. ROC curve analysis revealed that a fever duration cutoff of 7.5 days predicted BO with 0.71 sensitivity and 0.92 specificity. Conclusions:Prolonged high fever (≥7.5 days), inspiratory retractions, and adenovirus co-infection are significant predictors of BO after Mycoplasma pneumoniae bronchiolitis in children, which are helpful for early clinical identification.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between serum insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels and intracranial or extracranial atherosclerosis in patients with cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD).Methods:A total of 407 patients with CSVD admitted to Xiangya Hospital of Central South University between July 2021 and September 2023 were enrolled in the study. Carotid duplex ultrasound was used to measure the internal diameter, intima-media thickness (IMT), vascular wall thickness, plaque property score, stenosis index, and stenosis ratio of the bilateral common carotid arteries, internal carotid arteries, external carotid arteries, and vertebral arteries. Magnetic resonance angiography was used to assess the degree of stenosis in intracranial arteries. Patients were divided into 4 groups based on the serum IGF-1 levels (low level group:≤5.21 ng/ml, medium level group:>5.21 ng/ml and ≤10.73 ng/ml, high level group:>10.73 ng/ml and ≤24.26 ng/ml, extremely high level group:>24.26 ng/ml). The IMT of the common carotid artery, carotid plaques, diameters of various cervical vascular lumens, carotid artery diameter stenosis, and intracranial artery stenosis in 4 groups of the patients were compared. The relationship between IGF-1 and intracranial and extracranial atherosclerosis was analyzed by univariate Logistic regression analysis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis. Results:There were inter group differences among the 4 groups in internal carotid artery diameter [low level group 5.45 (0.50) mm vs medium level group 5.32 (0.55) mm vs high level group 5.30 (0.55) mm vs extremely high level group 5.30 (0.50) mm; H=8.210, P=0.042]. The carotid IMT [low level group 0.80 (0.05) mm vs medium level group 0.80 (0.05) mm vs high level group 0.83 (0.03) mm vs extremely high level group 0.83 (0.09) mm; H=8.107, P=0.044], the proportion of carotid artery vascular wall thickening [low level group 52.9%(54/102) vs medium level group 48.0%(49/102) vs high level group 68.3%(69/101) vs extremely high level group 60.8%(62/102); χ2=9.889, P=0.020], the carotid artery plaque property score [low level group 1 (2) vs medium level group 2 (2) vs high level group 2 (2) vs extremely high level group 2 (2); H=8.913, P=0.030] and the proportion of anterior cerebral artery stenosis [low level group 2.9%(3/102) vs medium level group 2.0%(2/102) vs high level group 4.0%(4/101) vs extremely high level group 10.8%(11/102); χ2=10.473, P=0.014] had inter group differences among the 4 groups, and the differences were statistically significant. Univariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that carotid artery vascular wall thickening ( OR=1.197, 95% CI 1.003-1.429, P=0.046), anterior cerebral artery stenosis ( OR=1.814, 95% CI 1.148-2.867, P=0.011), and basilar artery stenosis ( OR=1.530, 95% CI 1.084-2.159, P=0.015) were correlated with IGF-1 levels. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that after adjusting for age, gender, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and C-reactive protein, IGF-1 was positively correlated with the carotid artery vascular wall thickening ( OR=1.311, 95% CI 1.014-1.696, P=0.039); after adjusting for age, IGF-1 was positively correlated with the anterior cerebral artery stenosis ( OR=2.130, 95% CI 1.201-3.776, P=0.010); after adjusting for gender, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and cholesterol levels, IGF-1 was positively correlated with basilar artery stenosis ( OR=1.688, 95% CI 1.063-2.681, P=0.027). Conclusions:There is an association between IGF-1 levels and intracranial and extracranial atherosclerosis in patients with CSVD. IGF-1 may play a role in the development and progression of atherosclerosis in CSVD.

Acute symptomatic osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fracture (ASOTLF) can lead to chronic low back pain, kyphosis deformity, pulmonary dysfunction, loss of mobility, and even life-threatening complications. Vertebral augmentation is currently the mainstream treatment method for this condition. In 2019, the Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Trauma and the Spinal Trauma Group of Orthopedic Surgeons Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association collaboratively led the development of Clinical guideline for vertebral augmentation for acute symptomatic osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fractures. Six years later, with advances in clinical diagnosis and treatment techniques as well as accumulating evidence in related fields, the 2019 guideline requires updating. To this end, the Spinal Trauma Group of Orthopedic Surgeons Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the Spinal Health Professional Committee of China Human Health Science and Technology Promotion Association, and the Minimally Invasive Orthopedics Professional Committee of Shaanxi Medical Doctor Association have organized experts in the field to develop the Clinical guideline for vertebral augmentation of acute symptomatic osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fractures ( version 2025) , based on the latest evidence-based medical researches. This guideline incorporates 3 recommendations retained from the 2019 version with updated strength of evidence, along with 12 new recommendations. It provides recommendations from six aspects of diagnosis, pain management, treatment option selection, prevention of postoperative complications, anti-osteoporosis therapy, and postoperative rehabilitation, aiming to provide a reference for standard treatment of vertebral augmentation for ASOTLF in hospitals at all levels.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of eculizumab in treating hematopoietic stem cell transplantation-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA) .Methods:This retrospective study included 11 patients who developed TA-TMA after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and subsequently received eculizumab treatment at Peking University People′s Hospital between June 2018 and May 2024. The incidence of TA-TMA, treatment details, and clinical outcomes were analyzed. Results:Among the 11 included patients [4 males, 7 females; median age: 29 years (range: 9-56) ], underlying diseases were severe aplastic anemia (SAA) in 5 patients, acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in 3 patients, and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in 3 patients. The median time to TA-TMA diagnosis was 48 days post-transplantation (range: 4-213 days), and all patients met the diagnostic criteria for high-risk TA-TMA. The median interval from TA-TMA diagnosis to the initiation of eculizumab treatment was 12 days (range: 1-56 days). Patients received a median of 3 doses of eculizumab (range: 1-14). Ten of the 11 patients were assessed as having no response (NR) to eculizumab at the end of treatment or at death. One patient achieved a partial response (PR) but subsequently died after TA-TMA relapsed due to infection. At the last follow-up, all patients were either lost to follow-up or had died. The median follow-up duration was 88 days (range: 33-326 days), and the median time from TA-TMA diagnosis to the last follow-up was 31 days (range: 21-113 days) .Conclusion:Eculizumab demonstrated poor efficacy in this TA-TMA cohort. This might be attributable to the critical and complex condition of the patients, delayed initiation of eculizumab treatment, and insufficient dosage.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a chronic interstitial lung disease, is characterized by aberrant wound healing, excessive scarring and the formation of myofibroblastic foci. Although the role of alternative splicing (AS) in the pathogenesis of organ fibrosis has garnered increasing attention, its specific contribution to pulmonary fibrosis remains incompletely understood. In this study, we identified an up-regulation of serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 7 (SRSF7) in lung fibroblasts derived from IPF patients and a bleomycin (BLM)-induced mouse model, and further characterized its functional role in both human fetal lung fibroblasts and mice. We demonstrated that enhanced expression of Srsf7 in mice spontaneously induced alveolar collagen accumulation. Mechanistically, we investigated alternative splicing events and revealed that SRSF7 modulates the alternative splicing of pyruvate kinase (PKM), leading to metabolic dysregulation and fibroblast activation. In vivo studies showed that fibroblast-specific knockout of Srsf7 in conditional knockout mice conferred resistance to bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis. Importantly, through drug screening, we identified lomitapide as a novel modulator of SRSF7, which effectively mitigated experimental pulmonary fibrosis. Collectively, our findings elucidate a molecular pathway by which SRSF7 drives fibroblast metabolic dysregulation and propose a potential therapeutic strategy for pulmonary fibrosis.

Task performance is an important concern in ergonomics. Task performance is often affected by adverse ergonomic factors, resulting in health and economic losses. How to utilize effective indicators to evaluate the degree of impact of adverse ergonomic factors on workers' task performance is particularly important. In this paper, we conducted a literature review and analysis on the impact of adverse ergonomic factors on workers' task performance, focusing on summarizing available physiological, psychological, and neurocognitive behavioral function test indicators for evaluating workers' task performance. This summary of existing evaluation indicators provided reference and guidance for future evaluations of the impact of adverse ergonomic factors on workers' task performance.

The objective of this study was to investigate whether Stenotrophomonas maltophilia(S.maltophilia)induces ferroptosis,a form of iron-dependent cell death, leading to an inflamma-tory response in RAW 264.7 macrophages by elevating oxidative stress levels.RAW 264.7 cells were stimulated with varying concentrations of S.maltophilia.The concentrations of TNF-αand IL-1β were quantified using ELISA kits to assess the impact of S.maltophilia on the inflammatory response in RAW 264.7 cells. The activities of glutathione(GSH)and malondialdehyde(MDA)levels were measured using GSH and MDA assay kits to evaluate changes in oxidative stress.West-ern blot analysis was employed to detect the expression levels of COX-2,xCT,GPX4,and other proteins involved in ferroptosis signaling pathways, thereby investigating the effect of S.malto-philia on ferroptosis in RAW 264.7 cells. The results demonstrated that S.maltophilia induced concentration-dependent increases in inflammation and oxidative stress in RAW 264.7 cells,up-regulated the expression of COX-2 protein and down-regulated the expression of xCT and GPX4.Pretreatment with the ROS inhibitor N-acetylcysteine(NAC)significantly mitigated the S.malto-philia-induced oxidative stress and ferroptosis signaling activation, thereby alleviating the inflam-matory response.Furthermore, treatment with the ferroptosis inhibitor Fer-1 directly suppressed the activation of the ferroptosis signaling pathway and reversed the inflammation induced by S.maltophilia.These findings suggest that S.maltophilia triggers inflammation in RAW 264.7 cells by activating the ferroptosis signaling pathway via an increase in oxidative stress levels.
