Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(2):263-267
Objective:
To analyze the prevalence and the related factors of comorbidity of overweight/obesity and elevated blood pressure among primary and secondary school students in Changchun, so as to provide a basis for the intervention strategies of multiple disease prevention among primary and secondary school students.
Methods:
From September to October 2023,a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 32 552 primary and secondary school students aged 7 to 18 from 16 counties (cities) and districts in Changchun City for physical examinations and questionnaires on behavioral patterns. The Chi-square test was used for intergroup comparison and unconditional Logistic regression model was used for analyzing related factors of comorbidity presence of overweight/obesity and elevated blood pressure among primary and secondary school students.
Results:
The detection rate of comorbidity of overweight/obesity and elevated blood pressure among primary and secondary school students was 8.7%.The detection rate of boys(10.1%) was higher than that of girls(7.3%), the detection rate was higher among students in urban areas ( 10.6 %) than that in suburban areas(5.7%); and the detection rate among vocation high school students(15.7%) was higher than that in general high school students (11.8%), junior high school students (10.2%) and primary school students (5.3%).All the differences were statistically significant (χ 2=84.67, 239.28, 468.64 ,all P <0.01).The results of the multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that daily moderate to vigorous physical activity for 60 minutes or more ( OR =0.70) was associated with a reduced risk of comorbidity of overweight/obesity and elevated blood pressure among primary and secondary school students; boys ( OR = 1.46 ), urban residents ( OR =1.70),junior high school students( OR =1.78), general high school students ( OR =1.97), vocational high school students ( OR =2.20), and screen time without meeting the standard( OR =1.11) were associated with an increased risk of comorbidity of overweight/obesity and elevated blood pressure among primary and secondary school students(all P <0.05).
Conclusions
The comorbidity detection rate of overweight/obesity and elevated blood pressure and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Changchun is relatively high. Targeted measures should be developed to reduce the occurrence of overweight/obesity and elevated blood pressure with comorbidity of them.

Journal of Southern Medical University 2025;45(5):995-1002
OBJECTIVES:
To evaluate the impact of HBV infection on pre- and postpartum health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in pregnant women.
METHODS:
A prospective matched cohort consisting of 70 HBV-infected and 70 healthy pregnant women was recruited from the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University between April 17 and September 25, 2023. HRQoL of the participants was assessed at 16-24 weeks of gestation, between 32 weeks and delivery, and 5-13 weeks postpartum. Mixed linear models were used for evaluating temporal trends of HRQoL changes, and univariate ANOVA with multiple linear regression was used to identify the predictors of HRQoL.
RESULTS:
Compared with healthy pregnant women, HBV-infected pregnant women had consistently lower total HRQoL scores across all the 3 intervals, with the lowest scores observed between 32 weeks of gestation and delivery, during which these women had significantly reduced mental component scores (74.27±13.43 vs 80.21±12.9, P=0.009) and postpartum mental (76.52±16.19 vs 85.02±6.51, P<0.001) and physical component scale scores (77.17±14.71 vs 83.09±10.1, P=0.009). HBV infection was identified as an independent risk factor affecting HRQoL during late pregnancy and postpartum periods. Additional independent risk factors for postpartum HRQoL reduction included self-pay medical expenses, spouse's neutral attitude toward the current pregnancy, and preexisting comorbidities (all P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
HRQoL of pregnant women deteriorates progressively in late pregnancy, and HBV infection exacerbates reductions of physical function and role emotion in late pregnancy and after delivery, suggesting the importance of targeted interventions for financial burdens, partner support and comorbid conditions to improve HRQoL of pregnant women with HBV infection.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2024;41(7):783-789
Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics and molecular basis for children and adolescents with monogenic diabetes. Methods:A retrospective analysis was carried out for the clinical manifestations and laboratory data of 116 children and adolescents diagnosed with diabetes at Ningbo Women and Children′s Hospital from January 2020 to March 2023. Whole exome sequencing and mitochondrial gene sequencing were carried out on 21 children with suspected monogenic diabetes. Results:A total of 10 cases of monogenic diabetes were diagnosed, all of which were Maturity-onset Diabetes Of the Young (MODY). Six cases of MODY2 were due to GCK gene mutations, 1 case of MODY3 was due to HNF1A gene mutation, 2 cases of MODY12 were due to ABCC8 gene mutations, and 1 case of MODY13 was due to KCNJ11 gene mutation. Nine of the 10 patients with MODY had no typical symptoms of diabetes. A family history of diabetes was significantly more common in the MODY group compared with the T1DM and T2DM groups ( P<0.05). The BMI of the MODY group was higher than that of the T1DM group ( P<0.05). The initial blood glucose level was lower than that of the T1DM group ( P<0.05), and there was no significant difference compared with the T2DM group. The fasting C-peptide level of the MODY group was higher than that of the T1DM group ( P<0.05), and there was no significant difference compared with the T2DM group. Glycosylated hemoglobin of the MODY group was lower than both the T1DM and T2DM groups ( P<0.05). Conclusion:In this study, MODY has accounted for the majority of monogenic diabetes among children and adolescents, and the common mutations were those of the GCK gene in association with MODY2. Blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin of children with MODY were slightly increased, whilst the islet cell function had remained, and the clinical manifestations and laboratory tests had overlapped with those of type 2 diabetes. WES and mitochondrial gene sequencing can clarify the etiology of monogenic diabetes and facilitate precise treatment.
