Journal of Preventive Medicine 2024;36(4):355-358
Objective:
To investigate the use of e-cigarette and analyze its influencing factors among high school students in Wuhan City, so as to provide insights into developing control measures for adolescents.
Methods:
From September to November 2019, high school students in Wuhan City were selected by the multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method, and basic information, e-cigarette use and second-hand smoke exposure were collected through questionnaire surveys. Proportions of e-cigarette current use and attempt to use were analyzed, and factors affecting the current use of e-cigarettes were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
Totally 5 700 questionnaires were allocated, and 5 602 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective rate of 98.28%. The respondents included 2 925 males (52.21%) and 2 677 females (47.79%); 4 033 high school students (71.99%) and 1 569 vocational high school students (28.01%). The proportion of attempt to use e-cigarettes was 9.23%, and the proportion of current e-cigarette use was 2.03%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified male (OR=2.112, 95%CI: 1.285-3.471), vocational high school (OR=1.967, 95%CI: 1.214-3.186), private high school (OR=9.684, 95%CI: 5.648-16.605), family second-hand smoke exposure (OR=3.064, 95%CI: 1.741-5.392), second-hand smoke exposure in public places (OR=4.402, 95%CI: 1.687-11.484) and having close friends who were smokers (OR=6.432, 95%CI: 3.219-12.852) as factors affecting current e-cigarette use among high school students.
Conclusions
The proportion of current e-cigarette use among high school students in Wuhan City was 2.03%. Male, vocational high school, private high school, second-hand smoke exposure and having close friends who were smokers may be promoting factors for e-cigarette use.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2023;25(10):1597-1600
In recent years, corneal refractive surgery has flourished, but some patients have developed visual adverse symptoms such as decreased nighttime vision, glare, and halo after surgery. As one of the important factors affecting postoperative visual quality, accurate measurement and evaluation of the effective optical area is particularly important. This not only provides guidance for the selection of preoperative surgical methods and the design of optical areas, but also provides better postoperative visual quality for patients. This article reviews the research progress on the design and effective optical area of corneal refractive surgery.

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2022;44(8):874-877
Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Guizhi Mahuang Geban Decoction combined with conventional western medicine in the treatment of post infections cough (PIC), and to explore the mechanism. Methods:A total of 100 PIC patients in our hospital from January 2020 to July 2021 who met the inclusion criteria were divided into 2 groups according to the random number table method, with 50 in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the study group was treated with Guizhi Mahuang Geban Decoction and the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 10 days. TCM symptom scores were performed before and after treatment. The levels of neurokinin A (NKA), substance P (SP), neurokinin B (NKB) and calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) were detected by ELISA. Adverse events were recorded and clinical effects were evaluated. Results:The total clinical effective rate was 90.0% (45/50) in the study group and 68.0% (34/50) in the control group, and there was significant difference between the two groups ( χ2=7.29, P=0.007). The scores of cough, expectoration, pharyngeal itch and total score in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t values were 8.04, 6.30, 9.03, 9.71, all Ps<0.01). After treatment, NKA [(86.08±18.21) ng/L vs. (137.68±28.29) ng/L, t=10.85], SP [(54.23±11.28) ng/L vs. (71.75±15.34) ng/L, t=6.51], NKB [(96.15±20.19) ng/L vs. (149.84±30.22) ng/L, t=10.45], CGRP [(62.93±18.35) ng/L vs. (89.59±23.25) ng/L, t=6.37] levels in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01). The incidence of adverse events was 8.0% (4/50) in the control group and 10.0% (5/50) in the study group, and there was no significant difference between the two groups ( χ2=0.13, P=0.727). Conclusions:Compared with western medicine alone, Guizhi Mahuang Geban Decoction combined with western medicine can rapidly improve patients' symptoms, improve curative effect and have better safety for PIC. Its mechanism may be related to the regulation of NKA, SP, NKB and CGRP levels.

Objective:To summarize the publications in the field of neurofibroma and malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor in the past 25 years, to illuminate the cooperation among countries, academic institutions and researchers, and to compare the research topics between Chinese and English databases, and to predict the research trend. Methods:Web of Science and CNKI databases were searched, and literature about neurofibroma and malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor(MPNST) resection from January 1st, 1997 to September 2nd, 2021 were included. Excel 2017 was used for statistical analysis. VOSviewer 1.6.16 software was used for clustering and visualization of countries, institutions, authors, and keywords. Results:A total of 9 620 English articles and 957 Chinese articles were included. Over the past 25 years, Chinese and English publications have been increasing quickly. In terms of countries and institutions, most of the countries with a large number of documents published in English literature (top 10) are developed countries and the institutional cooperation between them is relatively close. In terms of keywords clustering, the result of English literature are more comprehensive, including the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of complications. The clustering result suggest that the potential research hotspots in the future may be the impact of tumor microenvironment on the development of neurofibroma and MPNST, molecular typing of neurofibroma, drug resistance mechanism of neurofibroma and so on. The clustering of Chinese literature can be summarized as the auxiliary diagnosis of neurofibroma and the treatment of complications. Conclusions:In the future, researchers may pay more attention to the role of tumor microenvironment in the development of neurofibroma, driving factors of neurofibroma and MPNST, molecular typing and drug resistance mechanism of neurofibroma.
