Bovine rotavirus(BRV)is an important pathogen causing diarrhea in calves. To understand the genomic charac-teristics and genetic variations in bovine rotavirus, and to further enrich data on the biological characteristics of rotavirus,we aimed to amplify 11 gene segments of the isolated and cultured G6P[1]bovine rotavirus BLL strain, perform whole genome se-quencing,and analyze the molecular characteristics.MEGA7.0 and DNAMAN software were used for homology and typing a-nalysis,and the whole genome phylogenetic tree was constructed to analyze genetic evolution relationships. The complete geno-type of the BLL strain was G6-P[1]-I2-R2-C2-M2-A3-N2-T6-E2-H3.Phylogenetic analysis of the VP7 and VP4 genes of the BLL strain showed that the VP7 gene had the highest homology with RVA/Cow-wt/HB01/China/2021,and the VP4 gene of the BLL strain was in the same branch as RVA/Human-tc/ISR/Ro8059/1995.From the sequence alignment of VP8*amino acids, the sialic acid domain of the BLL strain was found to be similar to that in other P[1]strains,but different from those in other types of strains, except for residue 189,which was the same as that in Ro8059 but different from that in other strains. The results suggested that the BLL strain might potentially infect humans. Therefore, continued monitoring and study of the biological characteristics of this strain are necessary to provide more information and evidence supporting further research on the cross-species transmission of group A rotavirus in China.

Objective To evaluate the prognosis and safety of patients with advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)who received I-125 seed implantation in treatment with anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody+chemotherapy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with stage Ⅳ metastatic PDAC who received anti-PD-1 combined chemotherapy treatment at Yixing Hospital,Jiangsu University from Jan 2021 to Jun 2023.Patients were divided into two groups based on whether they received I-125 seed implantation:the I-125 seed implantation+anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody+Chemotherapy group(IPC group)and the anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody+chemotherapy group(PC group). The follow-up period ranged from 2 to 24 months, with a median follow-up time of 9 months. The prognosis of patients was analysed in combination with peripheral blood biomarkers. The peripheral lymphocyte subsets of patients in different treatment groups were preliminarily analysed by flow cytometry. Results A total of 13 patients were included, with 5 in the IPC group and 8 in the PC group.Progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)in the IPC group were significantly longer than those in the PC group. The treatment in the IPC group was relatively safe, adverse reactions were controllable. The neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and CD4/CD8 ratio indicated that the prognosis of the IPC patients was better. The levels of regulatory T cells(Treg)and active regulatory T cells(aTreg)cells in the IPC patients were reduced after treatment compared with those of the PC patients. Conclusion The addition of I-125 seed implantation can improve the prognosis of patients with advanced PDAC who receive anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody+chemotherapy, the post-treatment levels of patients'circulating aTreg cells are reduced, and the combination therapy has good safety.

Objective:To investigate the relationship among seminal oxidation-reduction potential(nORP),sperm DNA frag-mentation(DFI)and semen parameters in patients with varicocele. Methods:Clinical data of 522 patients treated in the reproduc-tive andrology clinic of the Northern Theater General Hospital from November 2023 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed,in-cluding 435 men of childbearing age and 87 men of infertile age.The patients were divided into the varicocele group(n=116)and non-varicocele group(n=406)according to clinical diagnosis. The differences of seminal plasma nORP,DFI,sperm high DNA stain ability(HDS)and semen parameters were analyzed between the two groups. The relationship among general clinical data, seminal plasma nORP,semen parameters,DFI and HDS in patients with varicocele were further analyzed.According to the severity of varico-cele,the patients were divided into three groups, including mild, moderate and severe. And the differences of seminal plasma nORP and semen parameters,DFI and HDS among all groups were analyzed. The differences of seminal plasma nORP,semen parameters,DFI and HDS were compared between the varicocele and non-varicocele groups. Results:The total sperm count, sperm concentra-tion,progressive motility sperm percentage(PR%)and normal sperm morphology rate(NSMR)in patients with varicocele were sig-nificantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05).And seminal plasma nORP,DFI and HDS in patients with varicocele were sig-nificantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Seminal plasma nORP in patients with varicocele was significantly negatively correlated with total sperm, sperm concentration and NSMR(P<0.05),and significantly positively correlated with DFI and HDS(P<0.05).There were significant differences in nORP,total sperm count, sperm concentration,PR%,DFI and HDS among mild, moderate and severe varicocele groups(P<0.05).Seminal plasma nORP,sperm concentration,PR%and DFI in severe group were significantly lower than those in mild and moderate groups(P<0.05).Sperm count and HDS in severe group were significantly lower than those in mild group(P<0.05).In infertile patients, seminal plasma nORP,DFI and HDS in varicocele group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).And PR%in varicocele group was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Seminal plasma nORP in patients with varicocele may be an important marker of oxidative stress affecting DFI and semen parameters.

Objective To examine the changing prevalence and antimicrobial resistance profiles of Burkholderia cepacia in 52 hospitals across China from 2015 to 2021.Methods A total of 9 261 strains of B.cepacia were collected from 52 hospitals between January 1,2015 and December 31,2021.Antimicrobial susceptibility of the strains was tested using Kirby-Bauer method or automated antimicrobial susceptibility testing systems according to a unified protocol. The results were interpreted according to the breakpoints released in the Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute(CLSI)guidelines(2023 edition). Results A total of 9 261 strains of B.cepacia were isolated from all age groups, especially elderly patients. The proportion was 11.1%(1 032 strains)in children, significantly lower than the proportion in adults.About half(46.5%,4 310/9 261)of the strains were isolated from patients at least 60 years old and 42.3%(3 919/9 261)of the strains were isolated from young adults. Most isolates(71.1%)were isolated from sputum and respiratory secretions, followed by urine(10.7%)and blood samples(8.1%).B.cepacia isolates were highly susceptible to the five antimicrobial agents recommended in the CLSI M100 document(33rd edition,2023).B.cepacia isolates showed relatively higher resistance rates to meropenem and levofloxacin. However, the resistance rates to ceftazidime,trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole,and minocycline remained below 8.1%.The percentage of B.cepacia strains resistant to levofloxacin was the highest compared to other antibiotics in any of the three age groups(from 12.4%in the patients<18 years old to 20.6%in the patients aged 60 years or older). Conclusions B.cepacia is one of the clinically important non-fermenting gram-negative bacteria.Accurate and timely reporting of antimicrobial susceptibility test results and ongoing antimicrobial resistance surveillance are helpful for rational prescription of antimicrobial agents and proper prevention and control of nosocomial infections.
