1.Efficacy and Application Characteristics of Cold Chinese Medicines Based on Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2020 Edition)

ObjectiveTo provide a reference for the rational clinical use of cold Chinese medicines by sorting and analyzing their properties, flavors, meridian tropism, primary therapeutic indications, methods of administration, dosages, and precautions as recorded in the 2020 edition of Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China (Chinese Pharmacopoeia). MethodsCold Chinese medicines for internal and external use included in the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia were entered one by one, and their efficacy, properties, flavors, meridian tropism, methods of administration, dosages, and usage precautions were statistically classified and summarized to guide clinical medication use. ResultsA total of 259 cold Chinese medicines for internal use were included and categorized into 18 efficacy groups, mainly comprising heat-clearing drugs, water-excreting and dampness-draining drugs, and phlegm-resolving, cough- and asthma-relieving drugs. Their predominant flavors were bitter, sweet, and pungent, and they primarily entered the liver, lung, and stomach meridians. The main methods of administration included decocting first, grinding into powder for oral use, or preparing into pills or powders, with most dosages ranging from 9 to 15 g. A total of 83 cold Chinese medicines for external use were included, involving 16 efficacy categories. Their main flavors were bitter, sweet, and pungent, primarily entering the liver, lung, and large intestine meridians. The main external application methods were grinding into powder for topical use or preparing decoctions for fumigation and washing, with most dosages ranging from 9 to 15 g. Whether for internal or external use, cold Chinese medicines should be used with caution or contraindicated in pregnant women. ConclusionThe cold Chinese medicines included in the 2020 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia are mainly suitable for patients with carbuncles, swellings, and coughs. However, in clinical practice, it is necessary to strictly follow the principles of syndrome differentiation and treatment, pay attention to administration methods and dosages, and use cold medicines rationally and effectively to improve clinical efficacy.

Esophageal cancer is a prevalent malignant tumor of the digestive tract in China, and radical surgery remains the cornerstone of its comprehensive treatment. However, multifactorial challenges such as postoperative gastrointestinal tract reconstruction, traumatic stress, and tumor-related metabolic disturbances render esophageal cancer patients highly susceptible to malnutrition. Perioperative nutritional support therapy plays a crucial role in enhancing surgical safety, improving clinical outcomes, and elevating patients' quality of life by regulating metabolic homeostasis, preserving organ function, and optimizing the immune microenvironment. This article reviews the mechanisms underlying malnutrition in esophageal cancer, methods for nutritional status assessment, and precision intervention pathways based on multi-omics evaluations. The aim is to strengthen clinicians' awareness of standardized perioperative nutritional management for esophageal cancer patients and promote its clinical implementation, thereby facilitating postoperative recovery and improving long-term quality of life.
3.Chaperone protein facilitates soluble expression of Mannheimia haemolytica PlpE protein in Escherichia coli

To verify whether chaperones can promote the soluble expression of PlpE in Escherichia coli and whether the expressed protein is active,prokaryotic expression and Western blot detection were performed.The results showed that:The PlpE prokaryotic expression vector pET-32a(+)-plpE was expressed as inclusion body,and the expression form was not changed by changing the concentration of inducer,induction time and temperature.The companion proteins pG-KJE8,pGro7,pKJE7 and pG-Tf2 were co-expressed with pET-32a(+)-plpE in Eschierichia coli expres-sion system,respectively.When the final concentration of IPTG of 0.5 mmol/L,L-arabinose of 0.5 g/L or tetracycline of 5.0 μg/L were added as inducers and induced at 37 ℃ for 8 h,the results showed that the molecular companion pGro7 could change the expression of rp-PlpE from inclu-sion body to soluble expression.pG-KJE8,pKJE7 and pG-Tf2 had no effect on the expression of rp-PlpE.The soluble rp-PlpE can react specifically with the positive serum of Mannheimia haemolyti-ca.Therefore,the study showed that the co-expression of the chaperone protein pGro7 can make the rp-PlpE protein express in a soluble form,and the purified protein exhibits reactogenicity.These findings lay the foundation for the establishment of a subunit vaccine and serological diagno-sis methods for Mannheimia haemolytica.
4.Analysis of CT imaging characteristics of high altitude pulmonary edema

Objective To analyze the CT manifestations of high altitude pulmonary edema(HAPE)to provide radiological evidence for its early and accurate diagnosis.Methods Totally 200 HAPE patients clinically confirmed at some hospital from April 2021 to April 2024 were enrolled into a study group,and 56 individuals undergoing health examinations at the hospital's physical examination center between January and June 2023 were included into a control group.Examinations were carried out with a United Imaging uCT528 40-slice spiral CT scanner.The patients in the study group were observed in terms of HAPE staging,the extent of pulmonary involvement,CT manifestations of different stages including location,distribution,density and morphology of pulmonary lesion.The diameters of the main pulmonary arteries and ascending aortas of the subjects in the two groups were measured,and the ratios of the two diameters were calculated.SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results In the study group,there were 26 cases(13.0%)at early stage,105 ones at progression stage(52.5%),32 ones at critical outbreak stage(16.0%)and 37 ones at resolution and absorption stage(18.5%),and there were 35.5%with unilateral lung involvement and 64.5%with bilateral involvement.At early stage,HAPE chest CT manifestations included increased and thickened bilateral bronchovascular bundles,widened main pulmonary artery lumen and faint ground-glass opacity in lungs;at progression stage,HAPE chest CT manifestations revealed multiple cloud-like or patchy areas of increased density within lungs;at critical outbreak stage,CT scanning indicated diffuse patchy opacities and consolidation in lungs,white lung-like changes could be found in some severe cases,and bronchial air signs were shown within affected segments in some ones with severer signs in the right lung than in the left lung;at resolution and absorption stage the CT manifestations were similar to those at early stage,with lesions completely resolving after treatment.The study group had the diameters of the main pulmonary arteries greater while the diameters of the ascending aortas less than those of the control group,and the ratios of the diameters of the two diameters in the study group were higher than those in the control group,with the differences being statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Chest CT is an important examination method for the early diagnosis of HAPE and clarification of its clinical staging,which directly reflects the pulmonary pathological changes in HAPE patients and helps doctors fully understand the disease progression.
5.Correlation between postoperative stress level and sufentanil dosage in breast cancer patients

Objective:Investigating the correlation between postoperative stress levels and intraoperative sufentanil dosage in breast cancer patients.Method:A retrospective selection was made of 100 BC patients who underwent surgery at Shaanxi Cancer Hospital from Apr. 2023 to Apr. 2025 as the research subjects. According to the dosage of sufentanil during the operation, they were divided into low-dose ( n=33), medium-dose ( n=34), and high-dose ( n=33) groups. The general data and postoperative stress levels of the three groups were compared and analyzed. Based on the results of stress levels, BC patients were further divided into the normal group ( n=75) and the elevated group ( n=25). The clinical data, laboratory indicators, and intraoperative sufentanil dosage of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Binary Logistic regression was used to analyze the factors influencing the postoperative stress level of patients, and a nomogram was constructed. ROC and DCA were used to analyze the predictive value and net benefit of the nomogram. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the factors influencing the stress state of patients and the postoperative stress level. Results:The levels of endothelin-1 (ET-1), norepinephrine (NE), and cortisol (Cor) in the high-dose group after surgery were significantly lower than those in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group ( t=9.55, 11.07, 82.91, P<0.05). The stress levels and the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), C-reactive protein (CRP), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in the stress group were significantly higher than those in the normal group. However, the levels of sufentanil drug, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were lower than those in the normal group ( t=2.02, 2.04, 2.15, P<0.05). Multivariate analysis of binary logistic regression showed that the dosage of sufentanil ( t=2.02, 2.04, 2.15, P<0.05) ; Multivariate analysis of binary logistic regression showed that sufentanil dosage ( OR=0.58, 95 %CI: 0.24-0.93), SOD ( OR= 0.63, 95 %CI:0.41~0.84) were protective factors, and ACTH ( OR=1.57, 95%CI:1.23-1.92), CRP ( OR=1.53, 95 %CI: 1.06-2.00) 、BDNF ( OR=1.43, 95 %CI:1.11-1.75) were risk factors affecting the stress state of patients ( P<0.05) ; The construction of a risk nomogram model based on the above influencing factors and the ROC analysis indicated that its AUC=0.829, indicating a good predictive ability. The correction curve is close to the ideal curve, indicating that the model has good discrimination and consistency. DCA curve verification revealed that its predicted probability was 68%, indicating a positive net benefit. Correlation analysis showed that the intraoperative sufentanil dose, SOD, ACTH, CRP, BDNF were significantly correlated with the postoperative stress level-related indicators NE, ET-1, Cor. Among them, the intraoperative sufentanil dose and SOD were negatively correlated with NE, ET-1, Cor, while the other indicators were positively correlated with them ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:High levels of ACTH, CRP and BDNF are independent risk factors for postoperative stress in patients with BC, while sufentanil fibroids and SOD during the operation are protective factors. Moreover, the intraoperative sufentanil dose has a significant correlation with the related indicators of emergency levels. Clinically, this can be used as a biomarker for predicting postoperative stress in patients with BC and individualized intervention measures can be implemented, providing a new monitoring perspective for clinical prediction of the occurrence of stress.
6.Implant restoration assisted by autonomous dental robot after upper jaw reconstruction

The left maxilla of a patient was resected because of tumor,and the defect was reconstruted with fibular transplantation.The autonomous dental implant robot technology was used to achieve precise implantation of multiple implants and immediate denture restoration within the limited left maxilla.The surgery was minimally invasive and efficient,and significantly reducing patient post-operative discomfort.The final restoration was completed 6 months after surgery.
7.Treating hyperuricemia from"returning the clear and the turbid to the original"based on the theory of"indigestion of spleen and stomach"

Hyperuricemia is a chronic metabolic disease resulting from purine metabolic dysfunction and is classified under the category of"blood turbidity"in traditional Chinese medicine.Our team termed it"acid turbidity,"and its pathogenesis is closely related to the dynamic evolution of the clear and the turbid components.With the change of modern people's diet structure,the incidence of hyperuricemia is increasing annually owing to the intake of fatty,sweet foods and alcohol.Therefore,this paper explores hyperuricemia from the"indigestion of spleen and stomach"theory.The core pathogenesis of hyperuricemia is indigestion of spleen and stomach,the inversion of clear and turbid substances,and endogenous acid turbidity.The initial manifestation of hyperuricemia is the internal retention of acid turbidity and ascending-descending disharmony;the gradual manifestation of this disease is that indigestion causes heat,and acid turbidity transforms into poison;the final manifestation of this disease is that secular indigestion causes deficiency and the inversion of clear and turbid substances.It can be summarized into three syndromes:syndromes of internal retention of dampness-turbidity,dampness-heat toxin amassment,and dampness-heat due to spleen deficiency.Therefore,this paper proposes to treat the disease according to different syndromes,with ascending the clear and descending the turbid as the core of treatment.And the therapeutic approach employs the flexible application of three methods:transportation,resolving,and transformation.For syndrome of internal retention of dampness-turbidity,treatment focuses on promoting spleen transportation to eliminate dampness;for syndrome of dampness-heat toxin amassment,the strategy is to resolve indigestion and purge heat;and for syndrome of dampness-heat due to spleen deficiency,the aim is to resolve turbidity and clear heat.By ascending the clear and descending the turbid,so that"returning the clear and the turbid to the original,"the spleen and stomach regain harmony,functions of ascending and descending are reestablished,and hyperuricemia can be effectively managed.
8.The novel compound Austocystin R induces cycle arrest and autophagy in triple-negative breast cancer cells by regulating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway

Aim To explore the in vitro anti-human triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)effect and mech-anism of Austocystin R.Methods MTT assay was used to evaluate the anti-tumor potential of Austocystin R for various human tumor cells and normal cells.Flow cytometry was employed to evaluate the influence on cell cycle progression.mRFP-GFP-LC3 adenovirus transfection was used to evaluate the autophagic flux process.Western blot assay was used to verify the effect of Austocystin R on the expression of related pro-teins.Results The results showed that Austocystin R significantly inhibited the proliferation of multiple tumor cells in a dose-dependent manner,especially for the MDA-MB-231 cells with an IC50 of 1.45μmol·L-1.In addition,Austocystin R increased the protein expression of PTEN,p53,p-p53,p27,p21,and down-regulated the expression of p-PI3K,p-AKT and p-mTOR.Austocystin R can significantly increase the proportion of S-phase MDA-MB-231 cells,inhibit the expression of Cyclin D1,CDK4,CDK6,Rb,Cyclin B1 and CDK1,and promote the expression of Cyclin E1 and CDK2.Austocystin R can promote the autophagic flux process of MDA-MB-231 cells,promote the expres-sion of LC3 Ⅰ/Ⅱ,p-Beclin-1,p-ULK1,HMGB-1 and Atg 14 proteins,and inhibit the expression of Beclin-1,ULK1,p62,ATG 3,ATG 4B,ATG 5,ATG 7,ATG 12,ATG 13 and ATG 16L1 proteins.Conclusion Austo-cystin R can exhibit its anti-TNBC activity by inhibi-ting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway,blocking the cell cycle at the S phase and inducing autophagic cell death.
