The aim of this study is to identify the cause of death of a South China tiger cub at the Meihuashan breeding institute of Fujian Province.Pathogenic bacteria were isolated and cultured from liver, spleen, lung and other tissue samples of the dead South China tiger aseptically. The iso-lated bacteria were identified through morphological observation, biochemical characterization, sequence analysis of housekeeping gene gyrB,virulence gene detection, animal pathogenicity test and drug sensitivity test.A pathogenic Aeromonas hydrophila strain, designated FJ/Tiger-201809 was successfully isolated from the trachea of dead South China tiger. The nucleotide sequence ho-mology between the isolate and 11 strains of Aeromonas gyrB ranged from 91.2%to 99.1%,with the highest homology of 99.1%observed with Aeromonas hydrophila(AF208251.1).Genetic evo-lution analysis showed that the isolated strain FJ/Tiger-201809 was in the same evolutionary branch as other reference strains of Aeromonas hydrophila and was closely related. The pathoge-nicity test in mice showed artificial infection of mice with the strain resulted in varying degrees of lesions in several organs of the mice, and the median lethal dose(LD50)was 1 × 107.8 CFU/mL.Virulence gene test results showed that the isolate FJ/Tiger-201809 carried two virulence genes, aer and act.The results of drug sensitivity test showed that FJ/Tiger-201809 was highly sensitive to enrofloxacin and ampicillin among 18 commonly used antibiotics, relatively sensitive to penicil-lin G and doxycycline, and resistant to the other 14 antibiotics. In conclusion, this study isolated and identified a strain of Aeromonas hydrophila from a dead South China tiger with multiple drug resistance and strong pathogenicity, which provided an important reference for the prevention and control of bacterial diseases in South China tiger.

Objective:To explore the value of the "sandwich" feedback method based on the PDCA (plan, do, check, action) cycle in improving the ability of faculty in the department of radiology in teaching clinical radiological image interpretation during standardized residency training. Methods:The study involved six faculty members engaged in standardized residency training in the department of radiology from January 2023 to January 2024. The "sandwich" feedback method based on PDCA cycle was adopted to improve their ability in teaching clinical radiological image interpretation quarterly. The teaching ability was evaluated by residents and peer faculty members. A survey on teaching satisfaction was carried out. Results:Comparison of the teaching ability between PDCA cycles demonstrated a progressive increase in scores as rated by both residents and peer faculty members (scores from quarter 1 to quarter 4 were (77.00±2.53)/(80.33±3.26), (79.16±2.04)/(82.83±2.86), (81.83±1.17)/(85.16±1.17), (83.00±1.41)/(86.00±1.41). ANOVA of repeated measures indicated that quarter had a significant impact on both peer faculty member and resident evaluations ( P<0.001), and the results remained significant after Greenhouse-Geisser correction (G-G) and Huynh-Feldt correction (H-F). Moreover, a steady increase was observed in the scores of common deficiencies. The questionnaire survey showed that 88.88% (24/27) of the faculty members were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the feedback model. There were no significant differences in the scores of teaching feedback is necessary and aids in standardized teaching activities, creating an atmosphere before feedback is essential and effective "sandwich" feedback is helpful in improving the ability of faculty in teaching radiological image interpretation, and "sandwich" feedback can promote teaching reflection among faculty" between resident and peer faculty member evaluations ( P>0.05). Conclusions:The "sandwich" feedback method based on the PDCA cycle can effectively improve the ability of faculty in teaching clinical radiological image interpretation in the department of radiology and provide new ideas for achieving teaching homogeneity.

Objective:To explore the clinicopathological characteristics of primary bladder mucosal-associated lymphoid tissue extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (MALToma). Methods:A retrospective case series study was conducted. The clinicopathological data of 9 primary bladder MALToma patients diagnosed and underwent transurethral resection of bladder tumors at the Fujian Provincial Hospital, Zhangzhou Municipal Hospital, Mindong Hospital of Ningde City, Zhangzhou Second Hospital and Fuzhou Taijiang Hospital from December 2008 to December 2021 were collected. Paraffin-embedded surgical specimens were collected for HE staining, immunohistochemical staining and genetic testing, the clinicopathological characteristics of patients were summarized, and the literature was reviewed. Results:Of the 9 cases, 8 were female and 1 was male, the age was (59± 11) years old (range: 39-74 years old). Two cases had 3 lesions, 3 cases had 2 lesions, and 4 cases had single lesion. The maximum diameter of the mass was (3.2±1.9) cm (range: 0.3-7.0 cm). The follow-up time was 6-127 months, 4 cases lost to follow-up, 4 cases were disease-free survival, and 1 case was survival with tumor. Pathomorphologically, the bladder tissue consisted of diffusely infiltrating small-to-medium sized lymphocytes, with moderate amounts of pale-staining cytoplasm, without obvious nucleoli, some of them were translucent, and the mitosis was rare. Large cell proliferation in some areas was observed in 1 case, with prominent nucleoli and mitotic figures. Tumor cells in all 9 patients expressed CD20; bcl-2, CD43 and CD38 were positive in some cells in 4 cases, and CD138 was positive in a few cells in 2 cases; κ was positive in 4 cases, and scattered positive in 5 cases; λ was positive in 4 cases, and scattered positive in 5 cases. B-cell receptor gene clonal rearrangement was positive in all 8 cases who underwent the assay. No break-apart signal was observed in all 6 cases who underwent the fluorescence in situ hybridization assay with MALT1 gene segregation probe. Conclusions:Primary bladder MALToma is a rare low-grade B-cell lymphoma that is more commonly found in elderly women. There is no abnormal change in MALT1 gene.

Objective:To compare the endometrial blood flow in patients with recurrent implantation failure (RIF) and non RIF patients. Methods:A prospective cohort study was perfomed. Infertility patients who underwent frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles in the Reproductive Medicine Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University from February 2019 to July 2019 were included. Transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound was used to detect whether there was subendometrial blood flow in the endometrium of RIF patients (RIF group, n=85) and non-RIF patients (non-RIF group, n=17). The proportion of patients without endometrial blood flow signal was compared, as well as endometrial blood flow pulsatility index (PI) and resistance index (RI). Results:Compared with non-RIF group, the proportion of patients without endometrial blood flow signal detected by ultrasound was significantly increased in RIF group [34.12% (29/85) vs. 5.88% (1/17), P=0.020]. PI and RI values of RIF group were significantly higher than those of non-RIF group (0.895 9±0.182 0 vs. 0.779 1±0.271 9, P=0.048; 0.575 6±0.078 4 vs. 0.511 1±0.130 7, P=0.016). Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that endometrial blood flow was an independent risk factors for RIF ( P=0.045). Conclusion:Abnormal endometrial blood flow may be related to RIF, which may cause RIF by reducing the receptivity of endometrium to embryo.
