Radiation enteritis(RE)is an inflammatory reaction caused by radiation exposure, commonly observed following radiotherapy for malignancies in the abdominal, pelvic and retroperitoneal regions. The authors believe that the pathogenesis of RE is complex, involving factors such as deficiency and excess, cold and heat,as well as qi and blood. The general pathogenesis can be summarized as"instability of the Zhongzhou, depletion of essence and blood, dysregulation of ascending and descending, and accumulation of heat-toxins".And"the instability of the Zhongzhou and subsequent malnutrition of the intestines"are the key drivers of disease progression.Based on theoretical exploration and clinical observations, this article proposed a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic approach centered on"stabilizing the Zhongzhou, replenishing essence and blood, regulating ascending and descending functions, and clearing heat-toxins".These four methods are often applied simultaneously, with"stabilizing the Zhongzhou and regulating the intestines"serving as the core of treatment. The approach is tailored according to the individual patient's condition of blood,qi and body fluids.A medical case was attached as evidence for verification.

Cancer cachexia is a complex syndrome caused by multiple factors, which seriously affects the quality of life and prognosis of patients. Its overall pathogenesis is related to the deficiency of spleen qi,insufficiency of kidney essence, internal generation of turbid toxins, and the obstruction of the production of qi,blood and essential qi,which cannot nourish the muscles and bones.Under the guidance of the dynamic diagnosis and treatment system of"spleen and kidney exhaustion as the root cause and internal accumulation of turbid toxins as the manifestation",the overall regulation is carried out from four dimensions:opening and closing the spleen and stomach, nourishing the kidney and promoting transportation, transforming turbid toxins and detoxification, and tonifying qi and nourishing yin.It has shown unique value in the intervention of cancer cachexia and can provide ideas and references for the clinical practice of TCM in treating cancer cachexia.

Objective Objective To investigate the expression levels of long non-coding RNA HCG11(LncHCG11)and miR-214-5p in pancreatic cancer tissues and their potential molecular regulatory mechanisms. Methods Ten patients with pancreatic cancer admitted between January 2022 and January 2025 were included, and post-operative cancer tissue and paired adjacent tissue samples were collected.Real-time quantitative PCR technology was used to detect the transcription levels of LncHCG11 and miR-214-5p,and the expression level of sirtuin 2(SIRT2)protein was measured by Western blot. The relationship of miR-214-5p with LncHCG11 and SIRT2 was predicted through a biological database. Results Compared with the adjacent non-cancerous tissues, the expression of LncHCG11 and SIRT2 was significantly reduced in pancreatic cancer tissues, while the level of miR-214-5p was significantly increased(P<0.01).In vitro experiments showed that overexpression of LncHCG11 in the Panc1 cell line could upregulate the expression of SIRT2 protein and simultaneously inhibit the proliferative activity of Panc1 cells(P<0.05).Both miR-214-5p and LncHCG11,SIRT2 had binding sites. Conclusion LncHCG11 may act as a competing endogenous RNA to sponge miR-214-5p,releasing its transcriptional inhibition on SIRT2,thereby inhibiting the progression of pancreatic cancer.

Objective:To analyze the correlation between the skin temperature variation trajectory in the radiation field and the occurrence of grade 2 or higher radiation dermatitis in female breast cancer patients during postoperative radiotherapy. Methods:This prospective cohort study used convenience sampling to select 103 breast cancer patients who underwent modified radical mastectomy and subsequent radiotherapy at the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University from May 2022 to December 2022. All patients received three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT), with an irradiation field covering the chest wall ± supraclavicular and infraclavicular lymphatic drainage regions, and a prescribed dose of 50 Gy delivered in 25 fractions. Skin temperature in the irradiated area was measured using an infrared thermometer before radiotherapy and on the days of the 5 th, 10 th, 15 th, 20 th, and 25 th fractions. The latent classes of skin temperature variation trajectories were identified using the Mplus latent class growth model, and logistic regression was applied to analyze the correlation between the skin temperature variation trajectory and the occurrence of grade 2 or higher radiation dermatitis. Results:The skin temperature variation trajectories in the irradiated field of breast cancer patients undergoing postoperative radiotherapy could be divided into two groups: the temperature non-increasing group (81/103) and the temperature increasing group (22/103). The Akaike information criterion (AIC) was 66.468, the Bayesian information criterion (BIC) was 116.528, and the entropy was 0.810, with a likelihood ratio test P-value of 0.037, and a Bootstrap-based likelihood ratio test P-value<0.001. After adjusting for covariates such as age and body mass index, logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of developing grade 2 or higher radiation dermatitis in the temperature increasing group was 6.92 times of that in the temperature non-increasing group ( OR=6.92, 95% CI = 2.30-20.82, P=0.001). Conclusions:There is group heterogeneity in the skin temperature variation trajectories of breast cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy, and patients with a rise in skin temperature have a higher risk of developing grade 2 or higher acute radiation dermatitis.
