As a patented characteristic medicine of Yi ethnic minority, Pingxuan capsules have the effects of nourishing the liver and kidney, pacifying the liver, and subduing Yang. With the main indications of dizziness, headache, palpitations, tinnitus, insomnia, dreaminess, waist and knee soreness caused by liver-kidney deficiency and liver Yang upward disturbance, Pingxuan capsules are widely used in the treatment of posterior circulation ischemic vertigo, vestibular migraine, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. However, the current knowledge is limited regarding the efficacy, syndrome differentiation, and safety of this medicine. On the basis of summarizing the experience of clinicians and the existing evidence, this study invites clinical experts of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, pharmaceutical experts, and methodological experts from relevant fields across China to conduct evidence-based evaluation of Pingxuan capsules. The evaluation follows the Specifications for the Development of Clinical Expert Consensus on Chinese Patent Medicines issued by the Standardization Office of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, and reaches 5 recommendations and 16 consensus suggestions. The consensus clarifies the clinical applications, efficacy, dose, course of treatment, combination of medicines, precautions, and contraindications of Pingxuan capsules in the treatment of vertigo and explains the safety of clinical application. This consensus is applicable to clinicians (traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine, and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine) and pharmacists in tertiary hospitals, secondary hospitals, and community-level medical and health institutions across China, providing a reference for the rational use of Pingxuan capsules in the treatment of vertigo. It is hoped that the promotion of this consensus can facilitate the rational use of drugs in clinical practice, reduce the risk of drug use, and give full play to the advantages of Pingxuan capsules in the treatment of vertigo diseases. This consensus has been reviewed and published by the China Association of Chinese Medicine, with the number GS/CACM330-2023.

Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) is a refractory condition characterized by chronic inflammation of the bladder wall, disruption of the urothelial barrier, and neural sensitization. Current therapies, such as oral pentosan polysulfate sodium (PPS) or intravesical hyaluronic acid instillations, offer limited efficacy due to transient effects and an inability to reverse tissue fibrosis. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a regenerative medicine approach, has demonstrated significant therapeutic potential in urological disorders through the synergistic actions of its multiple growth factors. This review summarizes the latest advances in PRP therapy for IC/BPS, revealing that the underlying mechanisms primarily involve the release of diverse growth factors, suppression of inflammatory responses, restoration of the urothelial barrier, and modulation of nerve axonal regeneration. Clinically, PRP therapy significantly alleviates symptoms including pelvic/bladder pain, urinary frequency, nocturia episodes, and improves patients'quality of life. Furthermore, it offers advantages such as convenient administration, a favorable safety profile, and strong feasibility, presenting new therapeutic methods and options for the clinical treatment of IC/BPS.

Objective To investigate the effects of the health concept of novel starting point (HCNSP) on the nutritional as-sessment, liver function and physical and mental health of patients with early liver cirrhosis .Methods Thirty-eight patients with early liver cirrhosis admitted into the Department of Infectious Diseases were randomly assigned to the experimental group and the control group. The patients in the experimental group received HCNSP , in addition to routine treatment , which included nutrition intervention , naturopathy and special educational lectures on health care , while the patients in the control group were just given treatment without any other special therapy .Results Three weeks after the implementation HCNSP , positive effects were achieved in the patients with early cirrhosis, with an effective rate of nutrition evaluation being 89.4% and an effectual rate of liver function being 94.7% respectively. Significant differences could be noted , when comparisons were made with the figures of the control group (68.4%and 73.7%) ( P <0.05).The rate of patients inclined to adopt improper coping strategies , such as confrontation, avoidance and compliance decreased significantly , as compared with that before intervention .When compared with that of the control group , the rate of patients with improp-er coping strategies, e.g.avoidance and compliance, decreased significantly, as compared with that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion HCNSP could effectively improve the nutritional status and liver function , decrease adverse emotional feelings and en-hance treatment effects for patients with early liver cirrhosis .

Objective To explore epidemiology, clinical features and prevention strategy for pulmonary tuberculosis in the military units of the Southern Theatre of Operations. Methods Analyses were made on the epidemiological and clinical data of 146 confirmed cases of pulmonary tuberculosis ( TB) from 2008 to 2012 in the Southern Theatre of Operations. Then, short-term chemother-apy and preventive anti-TB chemotherapy were given to the patients and those having close contact with the patients. Results Morbidity of pulmonary tuberculosis in the military units of the Southern Theatre of Operations tended to decrease year by year.Incidence was higher in summer and autumn seasons and most victims were military personnel with 1-3 years of service.Main clinical symptoms were cough, sputum, chest pain, and tightness in the chest.Positive rates of serum TB antibody, tuberculin (PPD) test and sputum TB bac-teria test were usually not high ( about 30%) .Lung imaging foci were mostly in the upper lobe of the lung, accounting for 63%.Re-sults of the 2-month treatment indicated that effectual rate was 91.1%(133 cases), effective rate 7.5%(11 cases) and non-effective rate 1.4%(2 cases), with total effective rate being 98.6%and recurrent rate being 1.5%(2/133).Outbreak of pulmonary tubercu-losis infection was seen neither among those in close contact with TB patients nor in their units. Conclusion The strategy for the pre-vention and control of pulmonary TB in the Southern Theatre of Operations was early diagnosis and treatment of the disease.Routine health check and health check before deployment, close monitoring of main risk population and preventive treatment of those in close contact with open pulmonary TB patients with anti-TB chemotherapy were important measures, so that the outbreak of TB infection could be effectively curbed in the military units.

7.Study in knowledge, attitude and behavior of six-step hand-washing procedure among health professionais in the department of infections diseases
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2008;24(24):18-20
Objective To study the knowledge, attitude and behavior of six-step hand-washing procedure in the infectious department. Methods Questionnaires were used to investigate the knowledge, acceptability and compliance of six-step hand-washing procedure in the clinical workers in four class a tertiary hospitals of Guangdong province. Results 168 medical staff all knew the six-step hand-washing procedure(100%).However,the rates of acceptability and compliance varied from one occasion to another. The knowledge about hand-washing scored(4.36±2.08),(26.08±6.14)for attitude,The correlation coefficient was 0.358.Conclusions Though the importance of hand-washing has been confirmed and accepted by the medical staff, their compliance of hand-washing during work is not very optimistic.
