Objective To explore the clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of testicular Ewing sarcoma(ES), so as to enhance the understanding and differential diagnosis of this disease. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical manifestations, auxiliary examinations and pathological findings of a case of left-sided ES treated at our hospital, supplemented by a review of relevant literature. Results A 24-year-old male patient presented with left testicular enlargement with pain. Magnetic resonance imaging suggested a neoplastic lesion, with a high likelihood of testicular germ cell tumor. A radical left orchiectomy was performed. Postoperative pathology revealed testicular ES. The patient subsequently completed 8 cycles of VDC/IE chemotherapy and showed no evidence of recurrence at 10 months of follow-up. Analysis of literature on 5 previously reported cases of testicular ES had testicular enlargement as the primary presentation. All patients underwent surgery and 4 received adjuvant therapy. Follow-up revealed 1 death at 9 months postoperatively, with no recurrence or progression seen in the remainder. Conclusion ES occurring in the testis is extremely rare.Testicular ES is a poorly differentiated small round-cell malignant tumor that primarily presents as testicular enlargement. Current treatment mainly surgical resection combined with adjuvant chemotherapy.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of health education in the treatment of pneumoconiosis patients with bronchoalveoar lavage( BAL) during perioperative period. METHODS: Ninety-six pneumoconiosis patients treated with BAL in hospital were divided into observation group and control group( 48 cases in each group). The patients in the control group were given routine perioperative health education, and the patients in the observation group implemented perioperative health education in accordance with the health education pathway. Adverse reactions in hospital were collected, and the awareness of perioperative health knowledge of BAL was surveyed. RESULTS: Before implement of the health education pathway, there was no difference( P > 0. 05) in the health knowledge between the 2 groups. After implementation of the health education pathway, the awareness of health knowledge of observation group and control group were higher than that of the same group before implementation of the health education pathway( P < 0. 01). The awareness of 15 items of health knowledge was higher( P < 0. 05) and the incidences of intraoperative cough and postoperative low fever were lower in the observation group than in the control group( 4. 2% vs 25. 0%,2. 1% vs 16. 7%,P < 0. 05).CONCLUSION: Executing effective healthy education pathway in perioperative BAL is helpful to improve the knowledge of disease prevention and control in pneumoconiosis patients, and reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions during BAL.

Objective To investigate the association between multi-drug resistant 1 (MDR1) gene C3435T and T129C polymorphism with refractory epilepsy in children. Methods A total of 260 children including 60 refractory epilepsy, 100 drug-responsive epilepsy, and 100 healthy children were enrolled. The genotypes for MDR1 polymorphisms were determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. The distribution of genotypes and allele frequencies of the three groups were compared. Results The distribution of TT/TC/CC genotypes and T/C allele frequencies of C3435T showed no signiifcant difference between drug-resistant patients and drug-responsive patients or normal control group (P>0.05). Drug-resistant patients were more likely to have the TC genotype and the C allele at T129C when compared with the drug-responsive patients and the normal control group (P<0.05). Conclusions T129C polymorphism of the MDR1 gene was associated with refractory epilepsy in children.
