This paper summarizes Professor WANG Xixing's clinical experience in treating immune checkpoint inhibitor-related pneumonitis (CIP) based on the theory of "cough attributed to the five zang (脏) organs". Cough is a common predominant symptom of CIP. According to the theory of "cough attributed to the five zang organs", drug toxicity triggers cancer toxin, leading to disharmony among the five zang organs, and then lung failing to diffuse and govern descent as the core pathogenesis. Therefore, treatment should focus on harmonizing the five zang organs to restore the normal function of lung qi to diffuse and govern descent. In clinical practice, CIP can be classified into four syndrome patterns, including lung yin depletion, deficiency of both the lung and the spleen with phlegm-dampness, liver fire harassing the lung, and lung-kidney yin deficiency. Correspondingly, Chaimai Jinluo Runfei Decoction (柴麦金络润肺汤) is used to nourish yin and moisten the lung; Qigui Peitu Huayin Decoction (芪桂培土化饮汤) is used to fortify the spleen and tonify the lung, resolve dampness and dispel phlegm; Chaidan Shuyu Runjin Decoction (柴丹疏郁润金汤) is used to drain liver and clear the lung; and Dimai Jinshui Xiangsheng Decoction (地脉金水相生汤) is used to nourish the kidney and moisten the lung.

To summarise Professor WANG Xixing's experience in treating brain tumour from emotions and minds. Professor WANG regarded abnormal emotions and minds as the key to the treatment of brain tumor. Emotions and minds internal damage lead to malfunction of the five zang organs, resulting in phlegm, stasis, dampness, toxicity and other pathogenic qi gathering in the brain and developing into brain tumour. The treatment advocated regulating qi of the five zang organs and dispelling phlegm, blood stasis, dampness and toxins at the same time. The brain tumour is classified into four syndromes: heart-spleen deficiency, liver depression and spleen deficiency, failure of the heart and kidney to interact, and liver-kidney yin deficiency, with Guipi Yangshen Decoction (归脾养神汤) to fortify the spleen and nourish the heart, Guishao Shunzhi Decoction (归芍顺志汤) to soothe the liver and fortify the spleen, Liangui Tongshen Decoction (连桂通神汤) to restore interaction between the heart and the kidney, and Zishui Qingmu Huashen Decoction (滋水清木化神汤) to nourish the kidney and clear liver. At the same time, it was emphasised that the patient's emotional changes should be paid attention to, and psychological guidance should be given at the right time, so as to overcome the disease with emotions and mind.

OBJECTIVETo detect the estrogenic activity of genistein and apigenin with ER-positive cell line MCF-7 human breast cancer cells.
METHODMTT method was adopted to study the impact of genistein and apigenin on MCF-7 proliferation in vitro. Real-time RT-PCR method was used to detect their impact on ERalpha, ERbeta, PR and PS2 mRNA expression levels.
RESULTGenistein and apigenin promoted the proliferation of MCF-7. Genistein 1 x 10(-10) mol x L(-1) group showed a significant increase in the expression of ERa mRNA levels or a 17. 76 times more than the control group and a 1.75 times more than the E2 group. Apigenin notably promoted the PR mRNA expression or a 4. 57 times more than the control group and a 1.11 times more than the E2 group. Both of them had different effect in promoting ERalpha, ERbeta, PR or PS2 mRNA.
CONCLUSIONBoth genistein and apigenin have a strong estrogen-like effect. Although they have different effect in promoting estrogenic response genes (such as ERa, ERbeta, PR and PS2 mRNA), genistein shows a stronger activity than apigenin. It also suggests that the signaling pathways of phytoestrogens showing estrogen-like effect are not completely identical with estrogen pathways. The B-cycle position of flavonoids is one of the key sites to estrogen-like activity, and isoflavones (cycle B on site 3) show stronger estrogen-like activity than flavones (B-cycle lies in site 2).

Objective To evaluate the practical value of preventive jejunum stoma for enteral nutrition in abdominal operation.Method Retrospectively analyzed 43 cases (from July,1995 to July, 2001) of patients under went performed with abdominal operation and preventive jejunum stoma, and compared their practical value in different diseases. Results The frequency of practical usage of jejunum stoma in acute severe pancreatitis was the highest (87%,13/15),while it was less in the patients group of upper digestive tract tumor and biliary or portal venous hypertension(41.67% and 45.45% respectively,P0.05 when compared with pancreatitis group. Conclusions Preventive jejunum stoma for enteral nutrition in abdominal operation must take into account three factors (disease, patient, and surgeon).Viewing from the diseases, the acute severe pancreatitis should be considered, patients with combined wound must be considered conditionally, patients with upper digestive tract tumor or biliary operation together with bile exo-drainage may take into account according to different situation, patients with portal venous hypertension should not be advocated.
