This study employed the "disease-medicine-dose" pattern to mine the medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) prescriptions containing Astragali Radix in ancient Chinese medical books, aiming to provide a scientific basis for the clinical application of Astragali Radix and the development of new medicines. The TCM prescriptions containing Astragali Radix were retrieved from databases such as Chinese Medical Dictionary and imported into Excel 2020 to construct the prescription library. Statical analysis were performed for the prescriptions regarding the indications, syndromes, medicine use frequency, herb effects, nature and taste, meridian tropism, dosage forms, and dose. SPSS statistics 26.0 and IBM SPSS Modeler 18.0 were used for association rules analysis and cluster analysis. A total of 2 297 prescriptions containing Astragali Radix were collected, involving 233 indications, among which sore and ulcer, consumptive disease, sweating disorder, and apoplexy had high frequency(>25), and their syndromes were mainly Qi and blood deficiency, Qi and blood deficiency, Yin and Yang deficiency, and Qi deficiency and collateral obstruction, respectively. In the prescriptions, 98 medicines were used with the frequency >25 and they mainly included Qi-tonifying medicines and blood-tonifying medicines. Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium were frequently used. The medicines with high frequency mainly have warm or cold nature, and sweet, pungent, or bitter taste, with tropism to spleen, lung, heart, liver, and kidney meridians. In the treatment of sore and ulcer, Astragali Radix was mainly used with the dose of 3.73 g and combined with Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma to promote granulation and heal up sores. In the treatment of consumptive disease, Astragali Radix was mainly used with the dose of 37.30 g and combined with Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma to tonify deficiency and replenish Qi. In the treatment of sweating disorder, Astragali Radix was mainly used with the dose of 3.73 g and combined with Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma to consolidate exterior and stop sweating. In the treatment of apoplexy, Astragali Radix was mainly used with the dose of 7.46 g and combined with Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma to dispell wind and stop convulsions. Astragali Radix can be used in the treatment of multiple system diseases, with the effects of tonifying Qi and ascending Yang, consolidating exterior and stopping sweating, and expressing toxin and promoting granulation. According to the manifestations of different diseases, when combined with other medicines, Astragali Radix was endowed with the effects of promoting granulation and healing up sores, tonifying deficiency and Qi, consolidating exterior and stopping sweating, and dispelling wind and replenishing Qi. The findings provide a theoretical reference and a scientific basis for the clinical application of Astragali Radix and the development of new medicines.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effectiveness of arthroscopic release of elbow joint assisted by medial small incision ulnar nerve release in the treatment of non-traumatic elbow stiffness. METHODS: The clinical data of 15 patients with non-traumatic elbow stiffness treated with arthroscopic release of elbow joint assisted by medial small incision ulnar nerve release between April 2019 and September 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 6 males and 9 females with an average age of 46 years ranging from 34 to 56 years. The causes included rheumatoid arthritis in 3 cases, gouty arthritis in 2 cases, loose bodies in 3 cases, and elbow osteoarthritis in 7 cases. There were 4 cases with ulnar neuritis and 3 cases with synovial osteochondromatosis. The duration of elbow stiffness ranged from 6 to 18 months, with an average of 10 months. The operation time and intraoperative blood loss were recorded. The effectiveness was evaluated by visual analogue scale (VAS) score, range of elbow motion (maximum flexion, maximum extension, and total flexion and extension), Mayo score, and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) elbow score. RESULTS: The operation time was 60-90 minutes, with an average of 65 minutes, and the intraoperative blood loss was 40-100 mL, with an average of 62 mL. All patients were followed up 13-18 months, with an average of 14 months. There was no complication such as vascular and nerve injury, poor wound healing, collateral ligament injury, elbow joint space narrowing, osteophyte proliferation, or loose body formation around the joint. At last follow-up, the elbow range of motion (maximum flexion, maximum extension, and total flexion and extension), VAS score, and Mayo score significantly improved when compared with those before operation ( P<0.05). The HSS elbow score was 85-95, with an average of 92; 12 cases were excellent, 3 cases were good, and the excellent and good rate was 100%. CONCLUSION Arthroscopic release of elbow joint assisted by medial small incision ulnar nerve release is an effective way to treat non-traumatic elbow stiffness, which has the advantages of small trauma, short operation time, and good effectiveness. It can carry out early elbow rehabilitation training and significantly improve elbow function.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the association between acupuncture during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) and the live birth rate (LBR) using different propensity score methods. METHODS: In this retrospective cohort study, eligible women who underwent a COH were divided into acupuncture and non-acupuncture groups. The primary outcome was LBR, as determined by propensity score matching (PSM). LBR was defined as the delivery of one or more living infants that reached a gestational age over 28 weeks after embryo transfer. The propensity score model encompassed 16 confounding variables. To validate the results, sensitivity analyses were conducted using three additional propensity score methods: propensity score adjustment, inverse probability weighting (IPW), and IPW with a "doubly robust" estimator. RESULTS: The primary cohort encompassed 9751 patients (1830 [18.76%] in the acupuncture group and 7921 [81.23%] in the non-acupuncture group). Following 1:1 PSM, a higher LBR was found in the acupuncture cohort (41.4% [755/1824] vs 36.4% [664/1824], with an odds ratio of 1.23 [95% confidence interval, 1.08-1.41]). Three additional propensity score methods produced essentially similar results. The risk of serious adverse events did not significantly differ between the two groups. CONCLUSION This retrospective study revealed an association between acupuncture and an increased LBR among patients undergoing COH, and that acupuncture is a safe and valuable treatment option. Objective In order to shorten the transparency time of clear,unobstructed brain imaging cocktails and computational analysis(CUBIC),improve the transparency efficiency,and explore the possibility of applying hydrophilic tissue transparency technique,this study was conducted to optimize the perfusion of CUBIC technique and compare it with four hydrophilic tissue clearing method in terms of tissue transparency effect,transparency time,area change,volume change and adeno-associated virus(AAV)fluorescence retention.Methods Brain,liver,spleen and kidney of 6 adult Institute of Cancer Research(ICR)mice were subjected to clearing treatment by SeeDB,FRUIT,ScaleS and CUBIC method,respectively.The area and gray value of the samples were measured by Image J 1.8.0,and the volume before and after transparency was measured by drainage method to compare the transparency effect,time and size deformation of each group.Perfusion optimization of the CUBIC was performed by improving the perfusion rate with the optimal perfusion dose,each group of the experimental sample size was 6.Fluorescence preservation by different techniques was evaluated by injecting AAV in the motor cortex of 16 adult mice and taking the cervical spinal segments for transparency treatment after four weeks,and the fluorescence photographs were measured by Image J 1.8.0 to measure the mean fluorescent intensity.Results The optimal perfusion rate and dose of CUBIC was 15 ml/min and 200 ml respectively.For transparency ability and speed,the perfusion CUBIC had the lowest mean gray value and took the shortest time,while CUBIC consumed the longest time,and SeeDB,FRUIT,and ScaleS did not show good transparency ability.In terms of area and volume changes,several techniques showed different degrees of expansion after transparency of tissues or organs.In terms of fluorescence retention,perfusion CUBIC showed the best retention of green fluorescent protein(GFP)fluorescence signal,followed by CUBIC,ScaleS,FRUIT,and SeeDB.Conclusion Perfusion CUBIC technique shows the best tissue transparency,the shortest transparency time,and the most AAV fluorescence retention compared with other techniques.

Objective To investigate the differentiation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells after neural injury utilizing Sox10 cell lineage tracing in the cortical tissue.Methods C57BL/6 mice and Sox10-CreERT2/red fluorescent protein(RFP)model mice were used in the current study.The Sox10-CreERT2/RFP model mice generated by crossing Sox10-CreERT2 and Ai9 were 8-week-old F1 mice(n=16),which were randomly divided into control group(n=4)and 7 days(n=4),14 days(n=4),and 30 days feed groups(n=4).Tamoxifen(TAM)was used to induce the expression of RFP.The control group received tamoxifen dissolved in sunflower seed oil by gavage(40 mg/kg once daily for three consecutive days)and the brain tissues were obtained after 4 days.The feed group mice were fed with tamoxifen-containing feed to induce RFP expression,and the brain tissues were obtained after 7,14,and 30 days,respectively.Immunofluorescent staining was performed to detect the expressions of neuronal nuclei(NeuN),microtubule-associated protein 2(MAP2),phosphorylated histone 2AX(γ-H2AX),cluster of differentiation 13(CD 13),γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA),glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP),cluster of differentiation 11b(CD11b),vesicular glutamate transporter 2(VGLUT2),and adenomatous polyposis coli(APC,CC-1)in the brains of each group mice.The number of positive cells was counted,and the proportion was calculated.Eight-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into wild type(WT)group(n=4)and WT+TAM group(n=4).They were fed with regular feed and tamoxifen-containing feed for 30 days,respectively,and then brain tissues were obtained.Immunofluorescent double-labeling was used to detect the expressions of γ-H2AX positive neurons in the cortex of mice in both groups.Results In the control group,feed 7 days,14 days,and 30 days groups,the proportions of RFP+pericytes among all RFP+cells in the cortical tissue were(0.8±0.1)％,(2.7±0.1)％,(3.2±0.1)％,(4.0±0.1)％,respectively,and the proportion of mature oligodendrocytes(CC-1+RFP+)in the feed 7 days group was(51.2±0.7)％.The proportions of RFP-positive neurons in the cortex after 14 and 30 days of tamoxifen feed were(0.7±0.1)％and(1.5±0.1)％,respectively,while no conversion to RFP-positive neurons was observed in the gavage group and 7 days feed group.RFP cells in the cortex of the 7 days or 30 days feed group did not express GFAP or CD11b.Extensive γ-H2AX+NeuN+staining was observed in the WT group and WT+TAM group.Conclusion Long-term administration of tamoxifen can promote the differentiation of Sox10 cells into pericytes and neurons.Further investigation into the role of OPC in the neurovascular unit repair mechanism may contribute to a better understanding of the pathogenesis underlying AD.

Objective:To observe the application value of "Internet +" based case teaching method combined with objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) teaching method in the teaching of nursing students in the Department of Nephrology, and analyze its impact on nursing student satisfaction of teaching.Methods:A total of 60 nursing students who practiced in the Department of Nephrology, Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 30 students in each group. The control group adopted traditional teaching method, and the observation group adopted case teaching method based on "Internet +" combined with OSCE teaching method. SPSS 25.0 statistical software was used for data analysis, and independent sample t-test was used to compare the clinical practical work ability and teaching satisfaction of the two groups of nursing students after teaching. Results:After 4 weeks of teaching, the total scores of clinical thinking ability, disease observation and evaluation ability, mastery of medical knowledge, standardized operation ability, communicative ability, adaptive ability, humanistic care and health literacy of the observation group were higher than those of the control group [(29.84±3.52) vs. (25.67±3.36), (5.81±1.52) vs. (4.34±1.67), (17.93±2.24) vs. (15.52±2.05), (25.72±2.73) vs. (22.17±2.56), (4.18±0.75) vs. (3.56±0.69), (83.48±6.67) vs. (71.26±7.05)], with a statistically significant difference ( P < 0.05); after 4 weeks of teaching, the teaching preparation, teaching process, teaching ability, teaching attitude, teaching effect and total score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group [(17.13±2.42) vs. (15.07±1.84), (36.44±3.12) vs. (34.07±2.49), (21.97±2.36) vs. (21.37±2.01),(17.00±2.36) vs. (16.83±2.23), (17.73±2.00) vs. (14.07±2.55), (110.27±5.51) vs. (101.40±4.58)], and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The case teaching method based on "Internet +" combined with OSCE can not only effectively improve the clinical practical work ability of nursing students in the department of nephrology, but also improve student satisfaction of teaching.

Objective:To explore the application value of E-learning+mind mapping in nursing internship teaching in the department of neurology.Methods:A total of 215 nursing students admitted for internships in February 2021 were selected as research subjects. They were randomly divided into two groups. The observation group received teaching method combining E-learning and mind mapping, while the control group received conventional teaching method. The two groups of nursing students were compared in terms of internship assessment results, learning engagement (learning engagement scale), clinical thinking ability (clinical thinking ability evaluation scale), and student self-recognition. SPSS 20.0 was used for t test and chi-square test. Results:After 1 month of internship, the scores of theories and practical operation were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group [(90.05±3.02) vs. (85.29±4.17) and (81.33±5.26) vs. (78.62±4.69), all P<0.05]. The score of learning engagement scale, score of clinical thinking ability evaluation scale, and self-recognition rate were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusions:E-learning+mind mapping can significantly enhance the learning efficiency of intern nursing students in the department of neurology and improve their clinical nursing thinking ability, making it worthy of widespread application.

Objective:To explore the application of a role transition shock model based on the teach-back technique in knee arthroplasty nursing teaching.Methods:We assigned 50 nursing student interns practicing in the knee arthroplasty team of Orthopedics Department of Nanjing First Hospital between August 2020 and August 2022 into control group ( n=25, traditional teaching) and observation group ( n=25, teach-back-based role transition shock model teaching) according to the order of admission. At the end of internship, the examination scores, the impact of transition shock on comprehensive abilities, and teaching satisfaction of the students were assessed and analyzed using the t test and Fisher's exact test with the use of SPSS 22.0. Results:Compared with the control group, the observation group scored significantly lower in the physical, psychological, knowledge and skills, and sociocultural and developmental dimensions of the transition shock assessment scale ( P<0.05). The observation group showed significantly higher scores of nurse-patient communication, nursing practice, disease observation, health education, humanistic care, team cooperation, clinical thinking, and emergency response than the control group ( P<0.05). The examination results of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group ( t=12.31, 11.52, P<0.001). The teaching satisfaction rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group [100.00% (25/25) vs. 68.00% (17/25), χ2=9.52, P=0.002]. Conclusions:The teach-back-based role transition shock model can help alleviate the transition impact faced by nursing student interns when entering clinical practice, and also improve their comprehensive abilities as well as satisfaction with teaching.

Hypophosphatemia rickets is a rare disease that is divided into two categories,namely,hereditary and ac-quirability.Its clinical manifestations include growth disorders,limb deformities and dysfunction,poor mineralization of the teeth,and growth retardation in children as well as hyperparathyroidism,osteoarthritis,osteomalacia,and pseudofrac-ture in adults.Oral manifestations include non-carious teeth with recurrent apical periodontitis,periapical abscess and even cellulitis,periodontitis,and early tooth loss.X-linked hypophosphatemia rickets(XLHR)accounts for approximate-ly 80％of all hypophosphatemia rickets.We report a 3-year-old child with XLHR whose first diagnosis was apical peri-odontitis of multiple non-carious and non-traumatic teeth.Through medical history,clinical examination,laboratory ex-amination,radiographic findings,genotype testing,and literature analysis,we analyze the pathogenesis,clinical manifes-tations,radiographic features,diagnosis and differential diagnosis,treatment,and follow-up.This work provides refer-ence for clinical diagnosis and treatment and reduces missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis by dentists.

Objective To examine the impact of arid climates on distribution of Oncomelania hupensis snails in the Poyang Lake area, so as to provide insights into precision control of O. hupensis snails in the Poyang Lake area. Methods O. hupensis snails-infested grass islands in Hukou County, Lianxi District and Lushan City in the northern Poyang Lake area, and Jinxian County, Nanchang County and Poyang County in the southern Poyang Lake area were selected as the study areas, and the occurrence of frames with living snails and the mean density of living snails were captured from snail surveys in the study areas in spring and autumn each year from 2006 to 2023. Five years 2007, 2011, 2013, 2019 and 2022 were selected as drought years, and the mean daily water levels were collected at the Xingzi hydrological station in the drought years, normal flow year (2012) and flood year (2020). The numbers of days with water levels ranging from the lower elevation (11 m) to the upper elevation (16 m) for snail survival and the numbers of days with water levels of 11 m and below were collected in the Poyang Lake area, and the changes of snail indicators were compared in different grass islands in the Poyang Lake area before and after drought. Results The numbers of days with water levels ranging from 11 to 16 m were 110, 88, 136 d and 125 d at the Xingzi hydrological station in four drought years 2007, 2011, 2013 and 2019, which were less than in the flow year and flood year, and the days with water levels of 11 m and below were 242, 277, 220 d and 198 d in four drought years 2007, 2011, 2013 and 2019, which were longer than in the flow year and flood year. A total of 416 snails-infested marshlands were surveyed in the Poyang Lake area from 2006 to 2021, and the survey marshlands accounted for 43.12% (307/712) and 46.98% (109/232) of total marshlands in the southern and northern Poyang Lake areas, respectively. The median occurrence of frames with living snails and mean density of living snails were 0.60% (interquartile range, 4.04%) and 0.010 1 snail/0.1 m² (interquartile range, 0.076 1 snail/0.1 m²) in drought years, which were both lower than those [1.33% (5.19%) and 0.022 8 (0.098 9) snail/0.1 m²] in non-drought years (χ²= 42.170 and 44.911, both P values < 0.01). The proportion of grass islands with a continuous decline in snail indicators was higher in the southern Poyang Lake area than in the northern Poyang Lake area after the next year of drought (24.24% vs. 2.33%; χ² = 10.633, P < 0.01), and the proportion of grass islands with rebounding snail indicators was higher in the northern Poyang Lake area than in the southern Poyang Lake area (53.49% vs. 15.76%; χ² = 26.966, P < 0.01). A longitudinal analysis of snail indicators in marshlands with rebounding snail indicators after drought showed 1 to 5 years for return to pre-drought snail status, with a median of 2 (interquartile range, 1) years, and snail status was more likely to rebound if the occurrence of frames with living snails and the mean density of living snails were 2.11% and 0.025 5 snail/0.1 m² and greater in snails-infested grass islands. Conclusions Drought causes a remarkable decline in O. hupensis snail indicators in the Poyang Lake area, with a more remarkable impact in the southern Poyang Lake area, and 1 to 5 years are required for return to pre-drought snail status.
