Alcoholic liver disease(ALD), a major cause of chronic liver disease worldwide, poses a serious threat to human health. Despite the availability of various drugs for treating ALD, their efficacy is often uncertain, necessitating the search for new therapeutic approaches. Traditional Chinese medicine polysaccharides have garnered increasing attention in recent years due to their versatility, high efficiency, and low side effects, and they have demonstrated significant potential in preventing and treating ALD. Emerging studies have suggested that these polysaccharides exert their therapeutic effects through multiple mechanisms, including the inhibition of oxidative stress and the regulation of lipid metabolism, gut microbiota, and programmed cell death. This review summarizes the recent research progress in the pharmacological effects and regulatory mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine polysaccharides in treating ALD, aiming to provide a scientific basis and theoretical support for their application in the prevention and treatment of ALD.

Early screening, diagnosis, and intervention for congenital muscular torticollis (CMT) in infants are crucial for improving clinical outcomes. However, in China, limited awareness of CMT among child healthcare institutions and caregivers, as well as inconsistent professional standards among rehabilitation personnel, pose significant challenges to the effective diagnosis and management of CMT. The "Physical therapy management of congenital muscular torticollis: a 2024 evidence-based clinical practice guideline from the American Physical Therapy Association Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy" includes 17 action statements, primarily addressing the prevention, identification, assessment, and intervention of CMT. This guideline is expected to facilitate early detection of CMT in infants, enhance the treatment capabilities of physical therapists, and improve clinical outcomes. This article provides an interpretation of the guideline in the context of the current status of CMT diagnosis and management in China, aiming to offer a reference for improving the ability of primary child healthcare providers and physical therapists to recognize and manage CMTropriately.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of acupuncture therapy on dysphagia in patients with Parkinson's disease. METHODS: This randomized controlled study lasted 42 days and included 112 patients with Parkinson's disease and dysphagia. Participants were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (56 cases each group) using the completely randomized design, all under routine treatment. The experimental group was given acupuncture therapy. The primary outcome was Penetration-Aspiration Scale (PAS). The secondary outcomes were (1) Standardized Swallowing Assessment (SSA), and (2) nutritional status including body mass index (BMI), serum albumin, prealbumin, and hemoglobin. Adverse events were recorded as safety indicators. RESULTS: One participant quitted the study midway. There were no significant differences in baseline assessment (P>0.05). After treatment, both groups showed significant improvement in PAS, SSA and nutritional status except for BMI of the control group. There were significant differences between the two groups in the PAS for both paste and liquid, SSA (25.18±8.25 vs. 20.84±6.92), BMI (19.97±3.34 kg/m²vs. 21.26 ±2.38 kg/m²), serum albumin (35.16 ±5.29 g/L vs. 37.24 ±3.98 g/L), prealbumin (248.33 ±27.72 mg/L vs. 261.39 ±22.10 mg/L), hemoglobin (119.09±12.53 g/L vs. 126.67±13.97 g/L) (P<0.05). There were no severe adverse events during the study. CONCLUSION: The combination of routine treatment and acupuncture therapy can better improve dysphagia and nutritional status in patients with Parkinson's disease, than routine treatment solely. Nodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma(NMZL),the least common subtype of marginal zone lymphoma,represents a low-grade malignancy arising from the marginal zone of lymph node follicles,composed of small B-cells with an inert non-Hodgkin lymphoma nature.It accounts for 1.5% to 1.8% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas and 10% of all marginal zone lymphomas.The low incidence and lack of typical clinical and pathological features pose a challenge to the diagnosis and clinical management of NMZL.In this article,we reported the diagnosis and treatment of a case of NMZL located in the parapharyngeal space of the left neck and reviewed the relevant literature from both domestic and international sources.We summarized the clinical manifestations,histopathological features,immunohistochemical characteristics,imaging features,diagnosis and treatment modalities,and prognosis of NMZL.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chinese patent medicine combined with inhalation therapy for bronchial asthma in children with network meta-analysis.Methods CNKI,CBM,Wanfang Data,VIP,Embase,PubMed,and Web of Science were searched for obtaining the clinical randomized controlled trials of Chinese patent medicine combined with inhalation therapy for the treatment of bronchial asthma in children.Stata14 was used for network meta-analysis of the data.Results A total of 28 studies were eventually included,involving seven kinds of Chinese patent medicines,namely Hanchuan Zupa Granules,Huaiqihuang Granules,Tanreqing Injection,Xiaoer Feire Kechuan Granules,Chuankezhi Injection,Yupingfeng Granules and Zhubei Dingchuan Pills.The results of network meta-analysis showed that for improving the total effective rate,Tanreqing Injection combined with inhalation therapy,Chuankezhi Injection combined with inhalation therapy,and Zhubei Dingchuan Pills combined with inhalation therapy had the top 3 rankings of surface under the cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA).The optimal intervention measures to improve the peak expiratory flow(PEF),forced expiratory volume at one second(FEV1),and the ratio of FEV1 to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC)may separately be Tanreqing Injection combined with inhalation therapy,Hanchuan Zupa Granules combined with inhalation therapy,and Zhubei Dingchuan Pills combined with inhalation therapy.The analysis of the SUCRA ranking of the incidence of adverse reactions showed that Xiaoer Feire Kechuan Granules combined with inhalation therapy may be the intervention with the least side effects,and Zhubei Dingchuan Pills combined with inhalation therapy may be the intervention with greater side effects.Conclusion Compared with inhalation therapy alone,Chinese patent medicine combined with inhalation therapy can enhance the effective rate of bronchial asthma in children and improve lung function indicators,and has good safety.

Inflammation-to-tumor transition is one of the important mechanisms by which the cervical high-risk human papillomavirus(HR-HPV)infection develops into cervical cancer.Persistent cervical HR-HPV infection is an important cause of cervical cancer,and the focal uncontrolled inflammatory microenvironment caused by persistent cervical HR-HPV infection is the underlying mechanism of cervical cancer.The macroscopic and microscopic pathological process of inflammation-to-tumor transition is consistent with the pathogenesis evolution of damp-heat accumulation resulting into toxin in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM):the accumulation of damp-heat is the driving factor of inflammation-to-tumor transition,long-term retention of damp-heat leading to spleen deficiency and liver depression contributes to the characteristics of pathogenesis evolution,and long-term retention of damp-heat toxin causes the disorder of liver and spleen and then blood stasis accumulates in the cervical orifice,which eventually becomes cancer toxin.The process of inflammation-to-tumor transition caused by persistent cervical HR-HPV infection is due to the pathological factors of damp,heat,deficiency and toxin in TCM.Therefore,the regulation of inflammatory microenvironment caused by persistent cervical HR-HPV infection is the key approach to the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer.For the treatment of cervical cancer,methods of clearing heat and drying dampness,strengthening the spleen and soothing the liver are the key therapies.By intervention with the proper pathogen-eliminating methods and with simultaneous regulation of the interior and exterior,the process of inflammation-to-tumor transition can be interrupted.The exploration of inflammation-to-tumor transition caused by persistent cervical HR-HPV infection from the perspective of damp-heat accumulation resulting into toxin will provide thoughts for the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer with TCM and for Chinese medicine in intervening inflammation-to-tumor transition.

Objective: To investigate how parental divorce impacts psychological abuse and neglect among middle and high school students, so as to provide evidence for the development of family intervention strategies for mental health promotion. Methods: A stratified random cluster sampling method was employed to select students from 23 middle and high schools in Nanchong, Neijiang, and Luzhou. Online questionnaires utilizing the General Data Questionnaire and the Child Psychological Abuse and Neglect Scale (CPANS) were administered. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to compare individual characteristics between parent divorce and the control groups. The χ 2 test was then employed to analyze differences in psychological abuse and neglect across variables, with Logistic regression used to treat psychological abuse and neglect as dependent variables. Results: After PSM, there were 1 898 cases in both parent divorce and control groups. There was no significant difference in gender composition between the two groups ( χ 2=0.03, P >0.05). Compared to the control group, after controlling for various factors including gender, phase of studying, parental education, whether to live in school, and long term caregivers of the student, the risk of experiencing psychological abuse ( OR=1.43, 95%CI =1.26-1.63) and neglect ( OR=1.53, 95%CI =1.33-1.75) was significantly higher in parentdivorce group ( P <0.05). Conclusions Parental divorce significantly impacts psychological abuse and neglect experienced by middle and high school students. Therefore, support and intervention efforts should be intensified for students from divorced or unstable marriage families.

Objective To study the clinical effect of levosimendan combined with recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide(rhBNP)on patients with acute heart failure.Methods A total of 100 patients with acute heart failure in the hospital from December 2019 to December 2021 were selected as the research sub-jects.According to different treatment options,the subjects were divided into the control group,levosimendan group,rhBNP group and combined treatment group,with 25 cases in each group.The control group received traditional conventional diuretic,tube expansion and other treatment;the levosimendan group was treated with levosimendan on the basis of the control group;the rhBNP group was treated with rhBNP on the basis of the control group;the combined treatment group was treated with levosimendan and rhBNP on the basis of the control group.The improvement of New York Heart Association(NYHA)classification,death,rehospitaliza-tion rate,6-minute walking distance,improvement of serological indicators and adverse reactions were recor-ded in each group.Results Before treatment,there was no significant difference in baseline data between the groups(P>0.05).On the 1 st and 3 rd day after treatment,the improvement of NYHA classification in the combined treatment group was better than that in the other groups(P<0.05),and the improvement of NY-HA classification in the levosimendan group and rhBNP group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).The readmission rate within 6 months after treatment in the combined treatment group was lower than that in the other groups(P<0.05).At 5 and 9 days after treatment,the 6-minute walking distance in the combined treatment group was longer than that in the other groups(P<0.05).At 9 days after treatment,the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)in the combined treatment group was higher than that in the other groups(P<0.05),and the level of N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP)in the combined treatment group was lower than that in the other groups(P<0.05).No significant difference was found in the comparison of the occurrence of adverse reactions among the four groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combina-tion of levosimendan and rhBNP in the treatment of patients with acute heart failure is superior to traditional treatment and monotherapy in early clinical improvement,and dose not increase the incidence of adverse reactions.

Objective:To explore the survival prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma patients over 60 years old with comorbidities treated with microwave ablation.Methods:A retrospective analysis of 267 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma aged 60 years or older admitted to the PLA General Hospital from April 2012 to September 2022 were analyzed, including 179 patients with preoperative comorbidities and 88 patients without comorbidities. The overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of the two groups were compared by the Log-rank test, and the Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to evaluate ablation-related risk factors.Results:A total of 267 patients were included (comorbidity group, n=179; no comorbidity group, n=88). There were no statistical differences in OS and PFS between the two groups (all P>0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that comorbidities were not risk factors that affected the survival prognosis (OS and PFS) of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after microwave ablation ( P>0.05). Total bilirubin (hazard ratio 0.356, 95% CI=0.174-0.731, P=0.005) was a risk factor affecting OS; tumor number (hazard ratio 0.538, 95% CI=0.365-0.793, P=0.002) and international coagulation normalized ratio (hazard ratio 1.022, 95% CI=1.001-1.043, P=0.040) were risk factors affecting PFS. Subgroup analysis showed that patients with a maximum diameter of >3 cm and female patients, the OS of the comorbidity group was significantly lower than that of the non-comorbidity group( P<0.05). Conclusions:Microwave ablation therapy remains an effective treatment modality in hepatocellular carcinoma patients over 60 years of age with comorbidities, and its survival prognosis is not inferior to patients with hepatocellular carcinoma without comorbidities.

Objective To explore the changes of metabonomics in blood of mice after high-voltage electric shock,then screen out the significantly changed differential metabolites and metabolic pathways.Methods The head of C57BL/6J mice was subjected to high-voltage electric shock(electric shock group)or exposed to acoustic and optical stimulation of high-voltage electric(control group),then the whole blood from mice were collected to separate serum.The dual platform combined metabonomic analysis based on gas chromatography-mass spectrometer(GC-MS)and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer(LC-MS)was performed and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA)was used to screen the differential metabolites and related metabolic pathways.Results A total of 415 differential metabolites were screened out in metabonomics in blood of mice after high-voltage electric shock,including 187 up-regulated and 228 down-regulated metabolites.These differentially metabolites were significantly enriched in metabolic pathways including central carbon metabolism in cancer,glucagon signaling pathway,etc.Conclusion By establishing the model of high-voltage electrical injury on experimental mice,this study reveals the significant change of metabolite content and metabolic pathway in blood by high-voltage electrical injury.Which provides a basis for the damage of blood metabolic activity by high-voltage electrical injury,and suggests the potential harm of high-voltage electrical injury to blood metabolic activity in the whole body.
