Cancer Research on Prevention and Treatment 2026;53(9):672-681
Objective To analyze the prevalence of malignant tumors in cancer registration areas in Hubei Province in 2021. Methods Data on the incidence and mortality of malignant tumors from 31 cancer registries in Hubei Province in 2021 were collected. Incidence, mortality (crude rate, ASRC, and ASRW), and cumulative rates in the 0-74-year-old age group were calculated by gender, urban-rural area, and age group. Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to describe and analyze the incidence and mortality characteristics of malignant tumors in cancer registration areas in Hubei Province in 2021. Results In 2021, malignant tumors in cancer registration areas in Hubei Province had an incidence of 329.62/105, an ASIRC of 189.33/105, an ASIRW of 201.50/105, and a cumulative rate of 20.81% in the 0-74-year-old age group. Malignant tumors had a mortality rate of 183.59/105, an ASMRC of 90.36/105, an ASMRW of 103.22/105, and a cumulative rate of 10.26% in the 0-74-year-old age group. Incidence and mortality were higher in males than in females, with incidence rates in urban areas being significantly higher than those in rural areas, whereas urban and rural mortality rates showed no significant difference. The incidence of malignant tumors gradually increased with age, peaking in the 75-79-year-old age group. Mortality rose rapidly after 45 years and peaked in the 85+-year-old age group. Significant gender and urban–rural differences were found in the incidence and mortality of malignant tumors. The leading cause of incidence across the province was lung cancer, followed by female breast, thyroid, colorectal, and liver cancers. The top five causes of death were lung, liver, stomach, colorectal, and esophageal cancers. The incidence rates of female breast, thyroid, and colorectal cancers were higher in urban areas than in rural areas, whereas the burden of liver and cervical cancers was more prominent in rural areas than in urban areas. Significant differences were found in the incidence of malignant tumors among different cities and counties. Conclusion In 2021, the burden of malignant tumors in cancer registration areas in Hubei Province was primarily caused by lung, digestive tract, liver, and female breast cancers, with significant regional differences. This situation seriously endangers the health of residents. Comprehensive prevention and control measures should be continuously strengthened to reduce the burden of malignant tumors.

Sichuan Mental Health 2025;38(5):398-404
BackgroundThe functional changes of the default mode network (DMN) are closely related to the onset of major depressive disorders. However, the relationship between the DMN subsystem (core subsystem, dorsomedial prefrontal cortex subsystem, medial temporal lobe subsystem) and symptoms of first-episode major depressive disorder remains unclear. ObjectiveTo investigate abnormal functional connectivity between DMN subsystems and the whole brain in first-episode major depressive disorder patients during the resting-state, and to analyse the correlations between these functional connectivity patterns and clinical symptoms, so as to reveal the potential neural mechanisms from the perspective of DMN subsystem. MethodsFrom September 2020 to September 2023, a total of 64 first-episode outpatients and inpatients meeting the diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition (DSM-IV) were enrolled at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Mental Health Center as the study group. During the same period, 54 healthy volunteers matched for age, gender, and years of education were recruited from the community as the control group. Both groups were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale-24 item (HAMD-24). Resting-state functional magnetic resonance images (rs-fMRI) of the two groups were acquired using a Siemens 3.0 T scanner, and differences in functional connectivity between DMN subsystems (core subsystem, dorsomedial prefrontal cortex subsystem, medial temporal lobe subsystem) and the whole brain were compared. The functional connectivity values of brain regions with statistically significant differences between the two groups were extracted. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient analysis was used to investigate the correlation between these functional connectivity values and HAMD-24 scores of the study group. ResultsUltimately, 46 patients and 43 controls completed the study. Compared with the control group, the study group exhibited significantly stronger functional connectivity in the following pathways: between the right superior parietal lobule (core subsystem) and right cerebellar lobule VIII (t=3.954, P<0.05, GRF-corrected), between the right lateral temporal cortex (dorsomedial prefrontal cortex subsystem) and right cerebellar lobule VIII, right and left hippocampi, right medial, and paracingulate gyrus (t=4.595, 4.208, 5.200, 4.038, P<0.05, GRF-corrected), and between the temporoparietal junction (dorsomedial prefrontal cortex subsystem) and left lingual gyrus and right cerebellar lobule VIII (t=3.557, 4.274, P<0.05, GRF-corrected). Conversely, weaker functional connectivity was observed between the right inferior frontal gyrus and left gyrus rectus (t=-3.824, P<0.05, GRF-corrected). Furthermore, within the study group, the functional connectivity values between the right lateral temporal cortex and right hippocampus, as well as between the temporoparietal junction and right cerebellar lobule VIII, were both negatively correlated with the HAMD-24 cognitive impairment factor score (r=-0.306, -0.318, P<0.05). ConclusionIncreased functional connectivity between the DMN (specifically its core and dorsomedial prefrontal cortex subsystems) and cerebellum, partial limbic system, and lingual gyrus may be associated with the neuropathology of first-episode major depressive disorder. Furthermore, alterations in functional connectivity between the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex subsystem and both the cerebellum and hippocampus in these patients may be related to cognitive function. Objective To investigate the rate of greater omentum metastasis in gastric cancer(GC). Methods General informations of patients with GC who underwent radical gastrectomy at Shanghai Ruijin Hospital in May 2020 were collected, and their clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed to find risk factors of greater omentum metastasis. Recurrence and survival were also assessed. Results A total of 59 patients with GC were included in the study, of which 2(3.4%) had greater omentum metastasis. One patient presented a pathological stage of pT4aN3bM0 and another ypT4bN1M0. The 3-year overall survival rate of patients in the study was 87.9%. Conclusions The rate of greater omentum metastasis was relatively low, and patients with greater omentum metastasis had an more advanced pathological stage. To further validate this clinical issue, a prospective randomized controlled clinical study should be conducted between radical gastrectomy with omentectomy and omentum-preserving radical gastrectomy.

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry 2025;53(3):407-417
The MXene/MF microspheres were prepared by coating MXene nanosheets on melamine formaldehyde(MF)resin microspheres.Co(NO3)2 was adsorbed on the surface of the microspheres by impregnation, and then calcined at high temperature in an argon atmosphere.MF pyrolysis generated reducing gases such as CO and NH3,reducing Co2+to elemental Co,which was then used as a catalyst for in situ growth of carbon nanotube(CNT)through chemical vapor deposition(CVD),forming MXene-Co-CNT microspheres(MXene-Co-CNT MS).During this process, the pyrolysis of MF microspheres had dual effects. On one hand, the template was sacrificed to produce an internal hollow structure, and on the other hand, the generated gas worked as carbon source to generate CNT,forming an external sea urchin-like structure. Both of them promoted the formation of a novel structure, which combined the advantages of large specific surface area and good conductivity, thus possessing excellent electrocatalytic activity. The MXene-Co-CNT MS was modified on glassy carbon electrode(GCE)and further used in highly sensitive detection of nitroaromatic compounds(NACs).The detection limits of MXene-Co-CNT MS/GCE for 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene(TNT),1,3,5-nitrobenzamide(TNB),2,4-dinitrotoluene(DNT),1,3-dinitrobenzene(DNB),1-Cl-2,4-dinitrotoluene(Cl-DNB),and 4-nitrophenol(4-NP)were 26.84,31.60,35.03,54.14,43.86 and 28.67 nmol/L,respectively.It also had excellent anti-interference ability, and was used to detect NACs in environmental water samples accurately.

National Journal of Andrology 2025;31(3):208-215
Objective:To investigate the action mechanism of formononetin(FN)in regulating T helper type 1(Th1)cell dif-ferentiation and macrophage polarization through JAK/STAT signaling pathways in a mouse model of experimental autoimmune prostati-tis(EAP).Methods:Forty non-obese diabetic(NOD)male mice were randomly divided into four groups:normal control,EAP model control,low-dose FN(LFN,50 mg/kg)and high-dose FN(HFN,100 mg/kg).The EAP model was established in the latter three groups by subcutaneous injection of prostate antigens(PAgs)combined with complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA).After modeling, the mice in the LFN and HFN groups were treated intragastrically with FN at 50 and 100 mg/kg/d,respectively,and those in the nor-mal and model controls groups with carboxymethylcellulose sodium(CMC-Na).At 42 days after treatment, all the animals were killed and relevant tissues collected for observation of the pathological changes in the prostate tissue by HE staining, detection of Th1 cell dif-ferentiation and macrophage polarization in the prostate by immunofluorescence double staining(labeling CD4 and interferon-γ[IFN-γ],inducible nitric oxide synthase[iNOS]and CD206),measurement of the ratio of Th1 cells/macrophages in the spleen by flow cy-tometry and the levels of IFN-γ and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the serum by ELISA,and determination of the expressions of phosphorylated(p)-Janus kinase(JAK)1,JAK1,p-JAK2,JAK2,p-signal transducer and activator of transcription(STAT1)in the prostate tissue by Western blot. Results:Compared with the model controls, the mice treated with low-and high-dose FN exhibited more orderly arrangement of glandular epithelial cells, significantly reduced prostatic tissue inflammation scores(P<0.05),and de-creased proportion of Th1 cells and expression of M1 macrophages(P<0.05),but increased expression of M2 macrophages in the prostate and spleen tissues(P<0.05).Besides,the levels of inflammatory cytokines IFN-γ(P<0.05)and TNF-α(P<0.05)in the serum of the mice in the LFN and HFN groups were remarkably reduced, and so were the ratios of p-JAK1/JAK1,p-JAK2/JAK2 and p-STAT1/STAT1 in the prostate tissues at the molecular level(P<0.05),indicating the therapeutic effect of FN on EAP by regu-lating JAK/STAT signaling pathways, promoting inflammation resolution, and restoring immune balance. Conclusion:FN alleviates EAP by inhibiting JAK/STAT signaling pathways and regulating Th1 cell differentiation and macrophage polarization.

Objective:To explore the effect of Pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (PEG-rhG-CSF) with chemotherapy on breast cancer patients who got agranulocytosis of 3 to 4 degree, agranulocytosis with fever (FN) and the influential factors of relative dose intensity (RDI) chemotherapy scheme. Meantime, the value of CD34 + and CD45 in peripheral blood on predicting agranulocytosis of 3-4 degree were investigated. Methods:A total of 104 women with breast cancer were treated at Huzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Cancer Hospital of Zhejiang Province from Jan. 2022 to Sep. 2023. All subjects received primary prevention with PEG-rhG-CSF during chemotherapy. The clinical risk factors of agranulocytosis, FN and RDI were analyzed. The levels of CD34 + and CD45 in peripheral blood samples were analyzed by flow cytometry. Then the predictive value of the receiver characteristic curve (ROC) for Grade 3 to 4 agranulocytosis after primary prophylaxis with PEG-rhG-CSF for breast cancer chemotherapy was evaluated. Results:Among 104 breast cancer patients who received primary prevention of PEG-rhG-CSF during chemotherapy, 28 patients had agranulocytosis of 3 to 4 grade, 10 patients got FN, and 12 patients developed RDI<85%. The results of single factor analysis showed that CD34 +, CD45 and chemotherapy scheme were the influential factors of agranulocytosis of 3 to 4 degree, and low RDI of chemotherapy scheme ( OR=0.584, OR=0.999, OR=2.299, OR=0.100, OR=0.999, OR=3.088, P<0.05) . It also showed that CD34 + and chemotherapy scheme were the influential factors of FN ( OR=0.099, OR=2.667, P<0.05) . Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that CD34 +, CD45 and intensive chemotherapy were the independent risk factors of agranulocytosis of 3 to 4 degree after primary prevention with PEG-rhG-CSF ( OR=0.602, OR=0.999, OR=20.174, P<0.05) . CD34 + and intensive chemotherapy scheme were the independent influential factors of FN and RDI of chemotherapy scheme after primary prevention with PEG-RHG-CSF ( OR=0.072, OR=33.934, OR=0.086, OR=54.788, P<0.05) . The area under the curve (AUC) of CD34 + were 0.767 (95% CI:0.659-0.876) , AUC of CD45 were 0.743 (95% CI:0.644-0.842) , and the AUC of combined two indexes was 0.825 (95% CI:0.730-0.920) , which was higher than that of single index. So AUC of CD34 + and CD45 can be used for predicting agranulocytosis of grade 3 to 4 in breast cancer patients receiving primary prophylaxis with PEG-rhG-CSF. Conclusions:The levels of CD34 + and CD45 in peripheral blood of breast cancer patients with agranulocytosis of grade 3 to 4 receiving primary prevention with PEG-rhG-CSF during chemotherapy are lower. Combined detection of CD34 + and CD45 in peripheral blood can predict the occurrence of agranulocytosis of grade 3 to 4 in breast cancer patients after primary prevention with PEG-rhG-CSF. Also it can provide a reliable basis for assessing the risk of grade 3 to 4 agranulocytosis.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of overweight and obesity among Chinese children aged 3-18 years from 11 provinces, antonomous regions, or municipalities. Methods:This national cross-sectional community health survey utilized a multistage stratified cluster-random sampling method to recruit 193 997 nationally representative participants from 11 provinces, autonomous regions, or municipalities between January 2017 and December 2019. All participants underwent physical examinations, and their caregivers completed questionnaires assessing participants′ dietary, lifestyle, familial, and perinatal information. Multilevel multinomial logistic regression models were employed to identify the potential risk factors. Results:The cohort comprised 193 997 children (102 178 boys, 91 819 girls),aged (10±4) years. Overall prevalence rates were 30 574(15.8%)overweight children and 17 217(8.9%) obesity children. Boys exhibited higher overweight and obesity rates than girls (17.0% (17 368/102 178) vs. 14.4% (13 206/102 178), 11.3% (11 553/91 819) vs. 6.2% (5 664/91 819), χ2=249.12,1 578.69,both P<0.001). The detection rates of obesity in Tanner stage 2 and 3 were the highest in boys and girls, with 13.4%(2 231/16 665) and 8.6%(880/10 221) respectively. Risk factors for obesity included parental overweight (paternal OR=2.34 and maternal OR=2.29), annual household income of 100 000-200 000 yuan (compared with<100 000 yuan, OR=1.04), higher paternal education (compared with below high school, high school and a college education OR=1.09,1.14), birth weight >4.0 kg (≤5 and>5 years old OR=1.74, 1.44,respectively), and western food consumption≥1 time/month (compared with<1, 1-2, 3-4,>4 times/month OR=1.36, 1.30, 1.67(≤5 years), 1.19, 1.16, 1.15 (>5 years), respectively) (all P<0.05). Conversely, coarse grain intake≥1 times/week (compared with<1 times/week, every day, 3-4, 1-2 times/week OR=0.74, 0.80, 0.71 (≤5 years), 0.75, 0.87, 0.90(>5 years), respectively, all P<0.05) was associated with reduced obesity risk. Conclusions:Obesity epidemiology in children demonstrates significant heterogeneity across age, gender, geographic regions, and pubertal stages. It is necessary to establish a personalized prevention and control strategy.
