BACKGROUND: Modern acupuncture anesthesia is a combination of Chinese and Western medicine that integrates the theories of acupuncture with anesthesia. However, some clinical studies of acupuncture anesthesia lack specific descriptions of randomization, allocation concealment, and blinding processes, with subsequent systematic reviews indicating a risk of bias. OBJECTIVE: Clinical trial registration is essential for the enhancement of the quality of clinical trials. This study aims to summarize the status of clinical trial registrations for acupuncture anesthesia listed on the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP). SEARCH STRATEGY: We searched the ICTRP for clinical trials related to acupuncture anesthesia registered between January 1, 2001 and May 31, 2023. Additionally, related publications were retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and Wanfang Data. Registrations and publications were analyzed for consistency in trial design characteristics. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Clinical trials that utilized one of several acupuncture-related therapies in combination with pharmacological anesthesia during the perioperative period were eligible for this review. DATA EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS: Data extracted from articles included type of surgical procedure, perioperative symptoms, study methodology, type of intervention, trial recruitment information, and publication information related to clinical enrollment. RESULTS: A total of 166 trials related to acupuncture anesthesia from 21 countries were included in the analysis. The commonly reported symptoms in the included studies were postoperative nausea and vomiting (19.9%) and postoperative pain (13.3%). The concordance between the publications and the trial protocols in the clinical registry records was poor, with only 31.7% of the studies being fully compatible. Inconsistency rates were high for sample size (39.0%, 16/41), blinding (36.6%, 15/41), and secondary outcome indicators (24.4%, 10/41). CONCLUSION The volume of acupuncture anesthesia clinical trials registered in international trial registries over the last 20 years is low, with insufficient disclosure of results. Postoperative nausea and vomiting as well as postoperative pain, are the most investigated for acupuncture intervention. Digital intraoral scanning is a hot topic in the field of oral digital technology.In recent years,digital intra-oral scanning has gradually become the mainstream technology in orthodontics,prosthodontics,and implant dentistry.The precision of digital intraoral scanning and the accuracy and stitching of data collection are the keys to the success of the impression.However,the operators are less familiar with the intraoral scanning characteristics,imaging process-ing,operator scanning method,oral tissue specificity of the scanned object,and restoration design.Thus far,no unified standard and consensus on digital intraoral scanning technology has been achieved at home or abroad.To deal with the problems encountered in oral scanning and improve the quality of digital scanning,we collected common expert opin-ions and sought to expound the causes of scanning errors and countermeasures by summarizing the existing evidence.We also describe the scanning strategies under different oral impression requirements.The expert consensus is that due to various factors affecting the accuracy of digital intraoral scanning and the reproducibility of scanned images,adopting the correct scanning trajectory can shorten clinical operation time and improve scanning accuracy.The scanning trajec-tories mainly include the E-shaped,segmented,and S-shaped methods.When performing fixed denture restoration,it is recommended to first scan the abutment and adjacent teeth.When performing fixed denture restoration,it is recommend-ed to scan the abutment and adjacent teeth first.Then the cavity in the abutment area is excavated.Lastly,the cavity gap was scanned after completing the abutment preparation.This method not only meets clinical needs but also achieves the most reliable accuracy.When performing full denture restoration in edentulous jaws,setting markers on the mucosal tissue at the bottom of the alveolar ridge,simultaneously capturing images of the vestibular area,using different types of scanning paths such as Z-shaped,S-shaped,buccal-palatal and palatal-buccal pathways,segmented scanning of dental arches,and other strategies can reduce scanning errors and improve image stitching and overlap.For implant restora-tion,when a single crown restoration is supported by implants and a small span upper structure restoration,it is recom-mended to first pre-scan the required dental arch.Then the cavity in the abutment area is excavated.Lastly,scanning the cavity gap after installing the implant scanning rod.When repairing a bone level implant crown,an improved indi-rect scanning method can be used.The scanning process includes three steps:First,the temporary restoration,adjacent teeth,and gingival tissue in the mouth are scanned;second,the entire dental arch is scanned after installing a standard scanning rod on the implant;and third,the temporary restoration outside the mouth is scanned to obtain the three-di-mensional shape of the gingival contour of the implant neck,thereby increasing the stability of soft tissue scanning around the implant and improving scanning restoration.For dental implant fixed bridge repair with missing teeth,the mobility of the mucosa increases the difficulty of scanning,making it difficult for scanners to distinguish scanning rods of the same shape and size,which can easily cause image stacking errors.Higher accuracy of digital implant impres-sions can be achieved by changing the geometric shape of the scanning rods to change the optical curvature radius.The consensus confirms that as the range of scanned dental arches and the number of data concatenations increases,the scanning accuracy decreases accordingly,especially when performing full mouth implant restoration impressions.The difficulty of image stitching processing can easily be increased by the presence of unstable and uneven mucosal mor-phology inside the mouth and the lack of relatively obvious and fixed reference objects,which results in insufficient ac-curacy.When designing restorations of this type,it is advisable to carefully choose digital intraoral scanning methods to obtain model data.It is not recommended to use digital impressions when there are more than five missing teeth.

Aim To establish a gait analysis system based on DeepLabCut(DLC)algorithm for evaluating motor function in aged mice.Methods Based on DLC algorithm in deep learning technology,treadmill device and fully closed design were used in the system,including software and hardware.This system was applied to evaluate gait characteristics of mice due to aging un-der different movement modes.Correlation analysis was used to explore the effects of body weight and body length on gait indica-tors.Results This system realized the synchronous analysis of three-dimensional gait(lateral and ventral plane)of mice at specific gait speed,and automatically quantified 47 gait indica-tors.Using this system,it was found that during walking(15 cm·s-1),the standard deviation of body turning angle decreased,forelimb sway duration,standard deviation of knee angle,mean outward angles of left and right hind paw increased in 8 and 15 month-old mice,compared with 2-month-old mice.However,15-month-old mice showed decreased walking frequency,and in-creased stride width,total duration of double support,and knee extension and contraction distance.In addition,at trot(20 cm·s-1),15-month-old mice were unable to walk steadily,and 8-month-old mice had increased total duration of double support and mean outward angles of left hind paw,compared with 2-month-old mice.Correlation analysis revealed that indicators like walking frequency,stride width,forelimb sway duration,total duration of double support,standard deviation of knee an-gle,knee extension and contraction distance,were not affected by changes in body weight and body length.Conclusions The gait analysis system based on DLC algorithm can achieve a more sensitive,accurate and comprehensive evaluation of the gait of aged mice,distinguishing the gait characteristics of aged mice to maintain gait stability,and selecting behavioral indicators that better reflect the gait changes of aged mice.It provides a meth-odological basis for more effective assessment of efficacy and side effects of drugs for anti-aging and anti-decline of motor coordina-tion in the future.

Objective To evaluate the roles of telomerase,interferon-γ(IFN-γ),adenosine deaminase(ADA)and T cell spot test(T-SPOT.TB)in the diagnosis of tuberculous and malignant pleural effusion.Methods Forty patients with early tuberculous pleurisy(tuberculosis group)and 40 patients with malignant pleural effusion(tumor group)were enrolled.Pleural effusion and fasting blood were extracted before treatment.The activity of telomerase and the concentration of IFN-γ were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.The activity of ADA was detected by colorimetric analysis.The positive rate of T-SPOT.TB was detected by Elispot spot counting.Results Telomerase activity in the tuberculosis group was significantly lower than that in the tumor group([1.46±0.73]×10-3 nmol/L vs.[3.34±1.72]×10-3 nmol/L,P<0.01).The concentration of IFN-γ was(137.44±38.93)U/L and(27.94±8.46)U/L in the tuberculosis group and tumor group,respectively;ADA content was(68.42±9.58)U/L and(15.39±4.43)U/L.There were significant differences in IFN-γ and ADA between the 2 group(P<0.01).IFN-γ concentration,ADA activity and the positive rate of T-SPOT.TB in the tuberculosis group were significantly higher than those in the tumor group(P<0.01).The sensitivity and specificity of combined detection of telomerase,IFN-γ,ADA and T-SPOT.TB in differentiating tuberculous and malignant pleural effusion were 0.974 and 0.974,respectively.Conclusion The combined detection of telomerase,IFN-γ,ADA and T-SPOT.TB has important value in differential diagnosis of tuberculosis and malignant pleural effusion.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effect the treatment of arthroscopy-assisted calcaneal spur resection combined with plantar fascia release and calcaneal decompression in the treatment of the patients with intractable calcaneal pain. METHODS: The clinical data of 50 patients with intractable heel pain from January 2016 to January 2019 were retrospectively analyzed, including 20 males and 30 females;aged from 40 to 68 years old with an average of (50.12±7.35)years old, the medical history ranged from 1 to 4 years. All patients underwent arthroscopy-assisted calcaneal spur resection combined with plantar fascia release and calcaneal decompression, and were followed up, the duration ranged from 24 to 60 months with an average of(42.00±3.28) months. All patients had obvious heel pain before surgery, and X-ray examinations often showed the presence of calcaneal spurs. In addition to the routine foot examination, the changes in the height and angle of the arch of the foot were also measured pre and post-operatively by X-ray, for the evaluation of clinical effect. The VAS system was used to evaluate the degree of foot pain;the AOFAS scoring system was used to comprehensively evaluate the foot pain, voluntary movement, gait and stability. RESULTS: The VAS decreased from (8.75±1.24) before surgery to (5.15±2.35) at 3 months after surgery, (4.07±2.53) at 6 months after surgery, and (3.95±2.44) at the last fllow-up(P<0.05). The AOFAS score increased from (53.46±4.17) before surgery to(92.46±2.53) at 3 months after surgery, (96.33±2.46) at 6 months after surgery, and (97.05±2.37) at the last follow-up(P<0.05). The arch height was (41.54±1.15) mm before operation and (41.49±1.09) mm after the operation, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05). The internal arch angle of the foot arch was (121±6)° before operation and (122±7)° after operation. The difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05). CONCLUSION Arthroscopy-assisted calcaneal bone spurs resection combined with plantar fascia release and calcaneal decompression exhibited great clinical effect for treating intractable heel.

The angle between the lower extremity force line and the position of the unicondylar prosthesis is an important factor affecting the long-term survival and rate clinical outcome of the unicondylar replacement prostheses. Insufficient lower limb alignment will accelerate the wear of prosthesis and reduce the survival rate of prosthesis. Excessive lower limb alignment will accelerate the progress of contralateral interventricular arthritis. It is generally believed that the lower limb force line should be corrected in mild varus after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty. However, some scholars believe that the lower limb alignment has no effect on the functional score and prosthesis survival rate after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty. The poor position of femoral and tibial prosthesis will cause unexplained pain and even prosthesis wear, but the optimal position of femoral and tibial prosthesis is controversial. It is generally believed that the posterior tibial slope should be corrected in the range of 3° to 7° in unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, but some scholars believe that excessive change of posterior tibial slope will also affect the balance of knee joint space and knee joint range of motion. This study shows that the correction of lower limb alignment to mild varus is still the best lower limb alignment for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty. The best position of femoral and tibial prosthesis needs to be confirmed by further biomechanical research. The correction of tposterior tibial slope should be changed according to the specific original dissection angle of patients before operation.

Objective To measure the prevalence of mental health symptoms and identify the associated factors among college students at the beginning of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)outbreak in China. Methods We carried out a multi-center cross-sectional study via snowball sampling and convenience sampling of the college students in different areas of China.The rates of self-reported depression,anxiety,and stress and post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)were assessed via the 21-item Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale(DASS-21)and the 6-item Impact of Event Scale-Revised(IES-6),respectively.Covariates included sociodemographic characteristics,health-related data,and information of the social environment.Data pertaining to mental health service seeking were also collected.Multivariate Logistic regression analyses were performed to identify the risk factors. Results A total of 3641 valid questionnaires were collected from college students.At the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak,535(14.69%)students had negative emotions,among which 402(11.04%),381(10.49%),and 171(4.90%)students had the symptoms of depression,anxiety,and stress,respectively.Meanwhile,1245(34.19%)college students had PTSD.Among the risk factors identified,male gender was associated with a lower likelihood of reporting depression symptoms(AOR=0.755,P=0.037],and medical students were at higher risk of depression and stress symptoms than liberal arts students(AOR=1.497,P=0.003;AOR=1.494,P=0.045).Family support was associated with lower risks of negative emotions and PTSD in college students(AOR=0.918,P<0.001;AOR=0.913,P<0.001;AOR=0.899,P<0.001;AOR=0.971,P=0.021). Conclusions College students were more sensitive to public health emergencies,and the incidence of negative emotions and PTSD was significantly higher than that before the outbreak of COVID-19.More attention should be paid to female college students who were more likely to develop negative emotions.We should strengthen positive and proper propaganda via mass media and help college students understand the situation and impact of COVID-19.Furthermore,we should enhance family support for college students.The government and relevant agencies need to provide appropriate mental health services to the students under similar circumstances to avoid the deterioration of their mental well-being.

We have established a quantitative analysis of multi-components by single marker method (QAMS) for the simultaneous determination of apigenin-7-glucuronide, quercitrin, yuankanin, luteolin, apigenin, hydroxygenkwanin, and genkwanin in Qutan Zhike Granules. The chromatographic column used was an Agilent EC-C18 (150 mm × 4.6 mm, 4 μm), the mobile phase was methanol-0.15% phosphoric acid solution (gradient elution), and the detection wavelength was 338 nm. Apigenin was chosen as the internal reference standard, the relative correction factors for the six components were determined by multi-point correction method and included apigenin-7-glucuronide, quercitrin, yuankanin, luteolin, hydroxygenkwanin and genkwanin. According to the two-point correction method combined with the relative retention time correction of the components to be tested, the peak location was determined. The contents of these seven compounds in 10 batches of Qutan Zhike Granules samples were determined with relative correction factors, and the relative error (RE) was used to compare the results to that of the external standard using the External Standard Method to verify the accuracy of QAMS. The relative correction factors for apigenin-7-glucuronide, quercitrin, yuankanin, luteolin, hydroxygenkwanin and genkwanin were 1.762 8, 2.310 4, 1.898 4, 1.282 8, 1.191 3 and 1.066 9, respectively. RSDs of the relative correction factors were all lower than 3%. The peaks for each constituent were accurately located by the two-point correction method combined with relative retention time correction, and the predicted retention time was close to the actual retention time. The relative error of the contents by QAMS and determined by ESM in 10 batches of Qutan Zhike Granules were between -5% and 5%. This content determination method can be used for the simultaneous determination of seven components in Qutan Zhike Granules.

Objective: To investigate the impact of surgical treatment on quality of life in patients with locally recurrent rectal cancer (LRRC). Methods: A descriptive case series study was performed. The complete clinical data of 62 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of LRRC and treated by surgical procedures in Huashan Hospital of Fudan University from January 2012 to November 2019 were analyzed retrospectively. All the patients were followed up at least 12 months. Assessments of urinary function, sexual function, mobility function of lower limb and quality of life were documented. Patients with distant metastasis and surgical history of the urinary system were excluded. According to the criteria of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), recurrence were divided into central (n=27), anterior (n=20), posterior (n=7), and lateral (n=8) subtypes. Baseline characteristics, surgical procedures and short-term complications were analyzed. International prostate symptom score (IPSS) and grade of voiding dysfunction were used to evaluate the urinary function. Higher score of IPSS and higher grade of voiding dysfunction indicated worse voiding function. Sexual function for both genders was assessed preoperatively and postoperatively. International index of erectile function-5 (IIEF-5) was used for assessment of male patients and higher score indicated better function. Female sexual function index (FSFI) was used in females and higher score indicated better function. Short-form health survey with 36 items (SF-36), yielding an 8-scale profile of functional health (physical functioning, role-physical, bodily pain, general health, vitality, social functioning, emotional health and mental health) was used to evaluate the quality of life. The higher score indicated the better quality of life. Results: All the operations of 62 patients completed successfully and R0 resection rate was 88.7% (55/62). Postoperative surgical complications occurred in 16 cases (25.8%), including 3 patients of Clavien-Dindo classification III. At postoperative 3-month, 42 patients without ileum cystectomy or ureterostomy suffered from different grade of voiding dysfunction. IPSS increased significantly after the surgery (before surgery: 12.36±4.75, after surgery: 18.40±4.77, t=-9.128, P<0.001). There was no significant difference among the subtypes (P>0.05). At postoperative 12-month, IIEF-5 decreased from 14 (0~25) to 9 (0~19) in males (Z=-5.174, P<0.001) and FSFI deceased from 8.4 (2.0-27.0) to 2.0 (2.0-18.4) in females (Z=-3.522, P<0.001). Scores of physical functioning and role-physical decreased significantly [physical functioning: before surgery 70 (35-85), after surgery 65 (30-80), Z=-3.685, P<0.001; role-physical: before surgery 50 (0-50), after surgery 25(0-75), Z=-4.065, P<0.001], while those of social functioning role-emotional and mental health increased significantly after the surgery [social functioning: before surgery 44 (22-78), after surgery 56 (0-89), Z=-3.509, P<0.001; role-emotional: before surgery 17 (0-100), after surgery 33 (0-100), Z=-2.439, P=0.015; mental health: before surgery 40 (36-76), after surgery 52 (24-80), Z=-3.395, P<0.001]. All surgical procedures decreased the voiding function of LRRC patients and the sexual function of male patients (all P<0.01). However, only total pelvic exenteration and posterior pelvic exenteration decreased FSFI in female patients [before surgery: 8.4 (2.0-27.0) after surgery: 2.0 (2.0-18.4), Z=-2.810, P=0.005]. Conclusions: Multi-visceral resection in LRRC patients may damage voiding and sexual function. However, successful and effective surgical treatment can improve the psychosocial health of LRRC patients.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the potential systemic antitumor effects of stereotactic ablativeradiotherapy (SABR) and apatinib (a novel vascular endothelial growth factor receptor2 inhibitor) via reversing the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment for lung carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Lewis lung cancer cells were injected into C57BL/6 mice in the left hindlimb (primary tumor;irradiated) and in the right flank (secondary tumor; nonirradiated). When both tumors grewto the touchable size, mice were randomly divided into eight treatment groups. These groupsreceived normal saline or three distinct doses of apatinib (50 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg, and 200mg/kg) daily for 7 days, in combination with a single dose of 15 Gy radiotherapy or not tothe primary tumor. The further tumor growth/regression of mice were followed andobserved. Results: For the single 15 Gy modality, tumor growth delay could only be observed at the primarytumor. When combining SABR and apatinib 200 mg/kg, significant retardation of both primaryand secondary tumor growth could be observed, indicated an abscopal effect wasinduced. Mechanism analysis suggested that programmed death-ligand 1 expressionincreased with SABR was counteract by additional apatinib therapy. Furthermore, whenapatinib was combined with SABR, the composition of immune cells could be changed.More importantly, this two-pronged approach evoked tumor antigen–specific immune responsesand the mice were resistant to another tumor rechallenge, finally, long-term survivalwas improved. Conclusion Our results suggested that the tumor microenvironment could be managed with apatinib,which was effective in eliciting an abscopal effect induced by SABR.
