AIM To compare the contents of caffeic acid, ferulic acid, narirutin, calycosin, glycyrrhizic acid and atractylenolide Ⅲ of modified Liujunzi Decoction(MLJZD)during small test, pilot test(500,1 500 L)and large production.METHODS The samples were taken after soaking for 60 min, boiling for 0,5,10,15,20,30 min in the first decoction, and boiling for 5,10,15,20 min in the second decoction, respectively, after which the HPLC fingerprints were established, the contents of active constituents were determined.RESULTS There were 6 common peaks in the HPLC fingerprints for small test and pilot test, while 5 common peaks were observable in the HPLC fingerprints for large production, along with the similarities of more than 0.980.During pilot tests at different time points, various active constituents demonstrated consistent content changing trends, whose total content was higher than those during small test and large production.CONCLUSION Process amplification exhibits a little influence on active constituent contents in MLJZD,which don't show increasing trends with the expansion of container and enhancement of dosage.

This study was aimed at determining the molecular characteristics of Yersinia pestis in the natural plague foci around Qinghai Lake through single nucleotide polymorphism technology,to lay a foundation for molecular epidemiological and source-tracing analysis of Y.pestis in this area.Using the whole genome sequencing technology,we obtained the whole genome sequences of 84 representative Y.pestis strains.Using the sequences of Y.pestis and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis IP32953 from the NCBI database as references,we compared and analyzed the 2 298 SNP loci of these strains. From 1957 to 2020,84 representative strains of Y.pestis from the natural plague foci around Qinghai Lake were divided into two clades:1.IN2 and 3.ANT1.The 1.IN2 clade was the characteristic population of Y.pestis throughout all epidemic years in this area.Additionally, analysis of the SNP distribution and hosts in the region indicated that the 1.IN2 clade was located in five counties except Wulan, whereas the 3.ANT1 clade was isolated from Himalayan marmot and dog in two counties. In conclusion, the population structure of SNP of Y.pestis in the natural plague foci around Qinghai Lake is relatively simple, and SNP analysis of Y.pestis provided a scientific basis for tracing plague epidemic sources and formulating plague prevention and control measures in this area.

Linxian County in Henan Province, Northern China is known as the region with the highest incidence and mortality rate of esophageal cancer worldwide. Since 1959, the Henan medical team has conducted field work on esophageal cancer prevention and treatment in Linxian. Through three generations of effort exerted by oncologists over 65 years of research on esophageal cancer prevention and treatment in Linxian, the incidence rate of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in this area has dropped by nearly 50%, and the 5-year survival rate has increased to 40%, reaching the international leading

Biomedical and Environmental Sciences 2025;38(10):1194-1204
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the relationship between physical activity and genetic risk and their combined effects on the risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
METHODS:
This prospective cohort study included 318,085 biobank participants from the UK. Physical activity was assessed using the short form of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. The participants were stratified into low-, intermediate-, and high-genetic-risk groups based on their polygenic risk scores. Multivariate Cox regression models and multiplicative interaction analyses were used.
RESULTS:
During a median follow-up period of 13 years, 9,209 participants were diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. For low genetic risk, compared to low physical activity, the hazard ratios ( HRs) for moderate and high physical activity were 0.853 (95% confidence interval [ CI]: 0.748-0.972) and 0.831 (95% CI: 0.727-0.950), respectively. For intermediate genetic risk, the HRs were 0.829 (95% CI: 0.758-0.905) and 0.835 (95% CI: 0.764-0.914), respectively. For participants with high genetic risk, the HRs were 0.809 (95% CI: 0.746-0.877) and 0.818 (95% CI: 0.754-0.888), respectively. A significant interaction was observed between genetic risk and physical activity.
CONCLUSION
Moderate or high levels of physical activity were associated with a lower risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease across all genetic risk groups, highlighting the need to tailor activity interventions for genetically susceptible individuals.

Objective:To explore the coupling and coordination relationship between long-term care resources and population and economic development in Shanghai, and to provide a basis for optimizing the allocation of long-term care resources and the coordinated development of the system. Methods:Based on the coupling coordination theory, the evaluation system of long-term care resources, economic development and population structure was constructed, and the comprehensive evaluation index (U value) of each subsystem was analyzed from 2019 to 2021,and the coordination of the system was evaluated by combining the coupling degree ( C value ) and coupling coordination degree (D value). Results:In 2019,population structure (U3=0.344) led,long-term care resources (U1=0.160) and economic development (U2=0.240) lagged, and system coordination was poor (D=0.486).In 2020,long-term care resources (U1=0.593) increased, outpacing economy (U2=0.175) and population (U3=0.318),and system coordination improved (D=0.566).In 2021,economic development (U2=0.890) leads,long-term care resources (U1=0.653) and population structure (U3=0.574) lag behind, but system coordination is significantly improved ( D=0.833 ) .Conclusion:From 2019 to 2021,the overall development of the three subsystems of long-term care resources, population and economic development in Shanghai was good and showed dynamic changes, with strong coupling among the subsystems but insufficient coordination. In the future,we should strengthen the dynamic, coordinated adjustment and continuous monitoring of the system, optimize policies and resource allocation, and promote the coordinated and sustainable development of long-term care and population and economic resources.
