Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(8):1106-1111
Objective:
To investigate the intervention effects and mechanisms of function-rehabilitation-oriented physical training on the physical health of higher vocational college students, so as to provide replicable strategies for integrating physical education with health education in such institutions.
Methods:
In March 2024, a cluster random sampling method was employed to select 312 first and second year non sports major students from Chongqing Water Resources and Electric Engineering College as research subjects, and the selected classes were randomly divided into an intervention group ( n =151) and a control group ( n =161) by using a random number table. Both groups received a 16 week intervention program consisting of 2 academic hours per week from Macrh to July 2024. The control group followed the standard teaching curriculum for public physical education courses in higher vocational education, while the intervention group incorporated a function-rehabilitation-oriented physical training module into the regular physical education curriculum. For the module, stratified functional correction was implemented based on pre class functional movement screening results, with dedicated 10-15 minute intervention sessions per lesson accompanied by personalized exercise prescriptions delivered three times weekly. Before and after the intervention, Functional Movement Screen, the Exercise Attitude Scale, and the National Student Physical Health Standards (2014 Revision) were used for pre and post intervention assessments. Main effect of the intervention was examined via repeated measures analysis of variance, while chain mediating effect was analyzed by using the Hayes Process macro program.
Results:
After the intervention, the scores for functional movement quality (15.82±2.35), physical exercise attitude (237.64±17.22), and physical health level (76.45±7.82) in the intervention group were significantly higher than those before intervention (13.10±2.41, 199.51±15.78, 70.30±8.34) and those in the control group during the same period (13.08±2.81, 199.02±18.67, 71.42±7.56)( t =10.07, 20.34, 6.58; 9.21, 19.17, 5.57, all P < 0.01 ). Function-rehabilitation-oriented physical training directly and positively predicted physical health status ( β =0.18). Functional movement quality (effect size=0.21) and physical exercise attitude (effect size= 0.15 ) each served as independent mediators, their chain mediating effect was statistically significant (effect size=0.10)(all P < 0.01 ), with the total indirect effect accounting for 71.88% of the overall effect.
Conclusion
Function-rehabilitation-oriented physical training significantly improves the physical health of vocational college students through both direct effects and chain pathways, making it suitable for widespread implementation in vocational education institutions.

Body weight abnormalities, including overweight, obesity, and underweight, have become a dual public health challenge in Chinese adults: overweight and obesity lead to a variety of chronic complications, while underweight increases the risks of malnutrition, sarcopenia, and organ dysfunction. To systematically address these issues, multidisciplinary experts in endocrinology, sports science, nutrition, and psychiatry from various regions have held multiple weight management seminars. Based on the latest epidemiological data and clinical evidence, they expanded the guideline to include assessment and intervention strategies for underweight, in addition to the core content of obesity management. This guideline outlines the etiological mechanisms, evaluation methods, and multidimensional management strategies for overweight and obesity, covering key areas such as diagnosis and assessment, medical nutrition therapy, exercise prescription, pharmacological intervention, and psychological support. It is intended to provide a scientific and standardized approach to weight management across the adult population, aiming to curb the rising prevalence of obesity, mitigate complications associated with abnormal body weight, and improve nutritional status and overall quality of life.

Objective:To investigate the glymphatic system dysfunction and white matter microstructural damage in type 2 diabetic mellitus patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), and to identify the early diagnostic imaging biomarkers.Methods:Thirty-one DPN patients and 31 type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients who attended the First People's Hospital of Yancheng from March 2022 to October 2023 were included. In addition, 40 healthy controls (HC) were recruited. All subjects underwent 3.0T MRI scan with diffusion tensor imaging and 3D-T1WI sequences, and the diffusion tensor imaging analysis along the perivascular space(DTI-ALPS) index, perivascular space volume fraction in white matter(PVSVF-WM) and peak width of skeletonized mean diffusivity (PSMD) were calculated. SPSS 26.0 software was used to perform one-way ANOVA, t-tests, and Chi-square tests to compare clinical data and imaging indicators among the three groups. Partial correlation analysis was used to explore the relationships between DTI-ALPS index, PVSVF-WM, PSMD and clinical indicators in DPN patients. Finally, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted to evaluate the diagnostic value of DTI-ALPS index, PVSVF-WM, and PSMD for DPN. Results:The DPN group(1.46±0.19)had considerably lower DTI-ALPS index than the T2DM group (1.59±0.14) and HC group (1.60±0.17) (both P<0.05, Bonferroni correction). The DPN group (1.44±0.11) had significantly higher PVSVF-WM than both the T2DM group (1.35±0.14) and HC group (1.26±0.13) (both P<0.05, Bonferroni correction). The DPN group (1.84±0.31) and the T2DM group (1.83±0.25) had higher PSMD than HC group (1.60±0.24) (both P<0.05, Bonferroni correction), but the difference between the DPN group and the T2DM group was not statistically significant ( P>0.05). The DTI-ALPS index in the DPN group were negatively correlated with PSMD ( r=-0.379, P=0.035). The DTI-ALPS index was negatively correlated with the Toronto clinical scoring system (TCSS) score ( r=-0.456, P=0.01), while PSMD was positively correlated with TCSS scores ( r=0.686, P<0.001) in DPN group. The ROC curves showed that the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.777 ( P<0.001) for the combined diagnosis of DPN with the DTI-ALPS index, PVSVF-WM and PSMD. Conclusion:DPN patients exhibit glymphatic system dysfunction and white matter microstructural damage. The DTI-ALPS index and PSMD can serve as objective markers for assessing DPN severity. The combination of glymphatic system function indicators and white matter microstructural damage markers has moderate diagnostic value for peripheral neuropathy in T2DM patients.

Objective:The greater tuberosity angle(GTA)and critical shoulder angle(CSA)are commonly referred to as radiographic markers which were used to described morphology of the greater tu-berosity and acromion respectively. At present, most international studies focus on the correlation be-tween the above two parameters and rotator cuff tears(RCTs),and their diagnostic value and risk assess-ment.This study attempts to find out the trend of GTA and CSA changes and risk threshold of RCTs,as well as the protective factors and risk factors. Methods:In this study,130 individuals from May 2019 to December 2020 were recruited.According to Southern California Orthopedic Institute(SCOI)classifica-tion,the individuals were divided into four groups retrospectively:Group A,negative control group;Group B,partial tears(articular side);Group C,partial tears(bursal side);Group D,full-thickness tears.GTA and CSA were measured respectively on true anteroposterior position X-ray of shoulder with arm in neutral rotation and performed by the same trained technician team in single-blind.The correla-tions between RCTs and relevant factors were analyzed. Results:According to the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),GTA and CSA of RCTs(Groups B,C and D)were 0.736 and 0.673 with 95%confidence interval(CI),the cut-off value of GTA and CSA of RCTs were 70.5° and 39.5° respectively.Comparing with the control group,RCTs groups had significant statistical differences in age and body mass index(BMI)(P<0.05),especially the full-thickness RCTs(Group D),which was older than Groups A,B and C(P<0.05,cut-off value:56.5 years old)and shorter than Groups A and B(P<0.05,cut-off value:1.58 m).Analyzed from scatter plot and regression analysis, there was no linear correlation between GTA and CSA.There were no significant differences in gender, dominant shoulders and smoking between the RCTs groups and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:Larger GTA(>70.5°)and CSA(>39.5°)would be highly predictive in diagnosing RCTs without linear cor-relation,and GTA has a higher diagnostic value in contrast.Subacromial impingement and shoulder de-generation occurred before RCTs.Patients with age>56.5 years and height<1.58 m were more likely to develop disease of full-thickness RCTs and no statistic differences in weight and BMI.Gender,domi-nant shoulder and smoking were neither risk factors nor protective factors.
