Brain-computer interface (BCI) has high application value in the field of healthcare. However, in practical clinical applications, convenience and system performance should be considered in the use of BCI. Wearable BCIs are generally with high convenience, but their performance in real-life scenario needs to be evaluated. This study proposed a wearable steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP)-based BCI system equipped with a small-sized electroencephalogram (EEG) collector and a high-performance training-free decoding algorithm. Ten healthy subjects participated in the test of BCI system under simplified experimental preparation. The results showed that the average classification accuracy of this BCI was 94.10% for 40 targets, and there was no significant difference compared to the dataset collected under the laboratory condition. The system achieved a maximum information transfer rate (ITR) of 115.25 bit/min with 8-channel signal and 98.49 bit/min with 4-channel signal, indicating that the 4-channel solution can be used as an option for the few-channel BCI. Overall, this wearable SSVEP-BCI can achieve good performance in real-life scenario, which helps to promote BCI technology in clinical practice.

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is one of the common chronic complications in diabetic patients. Its course is complex and the therapeutic effect is limited, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the research on the mechanism of DFU wound repair. Studies have found that dysregulation of the inflammatory microenvironment, vascular dysfunction, obstruction of re-epithelialization, insufficient collagen deposition, and formation of wound biofilms are the core factors affecting healing. Intervention strategies targeting these mechanisms have become research hotspots. For instance, hydrogel scaffolds could provide an appropriate healing microenvironment, immune regulation strategies could promote inflammation resolution and tissue remodeling, and stem cell exosomes and growth factors have shown good potential in cell migration, angiogenesis, and matrix remodeling. Various natural compounds, such as components from Chinese herbal medicines, are also applied in diabetic foot ulcers. And it demonstrates excellent anti-inflammatory and restorative capabilities. However, existing research still faces obstacles in clinical translation, such as the immaturity of individualized treatment strategies and the difficulty of animal models in simulating complex clinical situations. By systematically summarizing the latest research progress on the repair mechanism of DFU, it is expected to provide theoretical support for precise treatment.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the positive rate and distribution of anti-M unexpected antibody in pediatric inpatients aged 0 to 14 years in central China. METHODS: A total of 30 049 pediatric inpatients admitted to the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Wuhan Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital Affiliated of Zhengzhou University from May 2020 to August 2022 were enrolled in this study, and relevant clinical data were collected. Blood samples from the patients were tested for blood typing and screened for unexpected antibodies. For samples that screened positive for unexpected antibodies, identification was conducted using the identification panel to determine the specificity of the antibodies. The distribution and differences of anti-M antibodies in pediatric patients of different sexes, ages, blood groups, disease types, with or without a history of blood transfusion, and across different regions were analyzed. RESULTS: Among 30 049 inpatients, the positive rate of unexpected antibodies was 0.91% (273/30 049), of which the positive rate of anti-M antibodies was 0.44% (131/30 049). The positive rate of anti-M antibodies in the neonates aged 0 to < 1 month was 0.10% (5/4 881), and all of them were IgG antibodies from their mothers; The positive rate of anti-M antibodies for the group aged from 1 month to < 1 year old was 0.23% (7/3 108), with no anti-M antibodies detected in patients aged 1-6 months; The positive rates of anti-M antibodies in the 1-4 years old group, 5-9 years old group, and 10-14 years old group were 0.87% (88/10 064), 0.38% (27/7 190), and 0.08% (4/4 806), respectively. The positive rate of anti-M antibodies in the 1-4 years old group was significantly higher than that of the other groups ( P <0.001), and there were also statistical differences in the positive rate between the 5-9 years old group and the 0-< 1 month and 10-14 years old groups ( P <0.001). The prevalences of anti-M antibodies in ABO blood group A, B, O and AB were 0.32% (30/9 482), 0.70% (58/8 293), 0.32% (31/9 595) and 0.45% (12/2 679), respectively. The prevalence of anti-M antibodies in patients with blood group B was significantly higher than that in patients with blood groups A and O ( P <0.05). The prevalences of anti-M antibodies in Hunan, Hubei and Henan was 0.18%, 0.32% and 0.71%, respectively. The prevalence of anti-M antibodies in Henan was significantly higher than that in Hunan and Hubei ( P <0.05), and the distribution showed obvious regional differences between the north and the south. There were no significant differences in the positive rate of anti-M antibodies between the children with different sexes, disease types, and with or without a history of blood transfusion (P >0.05). CONCLUSION This study reveals the distribution pattern of anti-M antibodies in pediatric inpatients aged 0-14 years in central China, which has reference value for the research on unexpected red blood cell antibodies in Chinese children.

Early correction of childhood malocclusion is timely managing morphological, structural, and functional abnormalities at different dentomaxillofacial developmental stages. The selection of appropriate imaging examination and comprehensive radiological diagnosis and analysis play an important role in early correction of childhood malocclusion. This expert consensus is a collaborative effort by multidisciplinary experts in dentistry across the nation based on the current clinical evidence, aiming to provide general guidance on appropriate imaging examination selection, comprehensive and accurate imaging assessment for early orthodontic treatment patients.

Functional dyspepsia (FD), characterized by persistent or recurrent dyspeptic symptoms without identifiable organic, systemic or metabolic causes, is an increasingly recognized global health issue. The objective of this guideline is to equip clinicians and nursing professionals with evidence-based strategies for the management and treatment of adult patients with FD using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The Guideline Development Group consulted existing TCM consensus documents on FD and convened a panel of 35 clinicians to generate initial clinical queries. To address these queries, a systematic literature search was conducted across PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIP Database, China Biology Medicine (SinoMed) Database, Wanfang Database, Traditional Medicine Research Data Expanded (TMRDE), and the Traditional Chinese Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System (TCMLARS). The evidence from the literature was critically appraised using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. The strength of the recommendations was ascertained through a consensus-building process involving TCM and allopathic medicine experts, methodologists, pharmacologists, nursing specialists, and health economists, leveraging their collective expertise and empirical knowledge. The guideline comprises a total of 43 evidence-informed recommendations that span a range of clinical aspects, including the pathogenesis according to TCM, diagnostic approaches, therapeutic interventions, efficacy assessments, and prognostic considerations. OBJECTIVE: The relationship between fish consumption and stroke is inconsistent, and it is uncertain whether this association varies across predicted stroke risks. METHODS: A cohort study comprising 95,800 participants from the Prediction for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk in China project was conducted. A standardized questionnaire was used to collect data on fish consumption. Participants were stratified into low- and moderate-to-high-risk categories based on their 10-year stroke risk prediction scores. Hazard ratios ( HRs) and 95% confidence intervals ( CIs) were estimated using Cox proportional hazard models and additive interaction by relative excess risk due to interaction (RERI), attributable proportion (AP), and synergy index (SI). RESULTS: During 703,869 person-years of follow-up, 2,773 incident stroke events were identified. Higher fish consumption was associated with a lower risk of stroke, particularly among moderate-to-high-risk individuals ( HR = 0.53, 95% CI: 0.47-0.60) than among low-risk individuals ( HR = 0.64, 95% CI: 0.49-0.85). A significant additive interaction between fish consumption and predicted stroke risk was observed (RERI = 4.08, 95% CI: 2.80-5.36; SI = 1.64, 95% CI: 1.42-1.89; AP = 0.36, 95% CI: 0.28-0.43). CONCLUSION Higher fish consumption was associated with a lower risk of stroke, and this beneficial association was more pronounced in individuals with moderate-to-high stroke risk.

OBJECTIVE: To identify the key features of facial and tongue images associated with anemia in female populations, establish anemia risk-screening models, and evaluate their performance. METHODS: A total of 533 female participants (anemic and healthy) were recruited from Shuguang Hospital. Facial and tongue images were collected using the TFDA-1 tongue and face diagnosis instrument. Color and texture features from various parts of facial and tongue images were extracted using Face Diagnosis Analysis System (FDAS) and Tongue Diagnosis Analysis System version 2.0 (TDAS v2.0). Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) regression was used for feature selection. Ten machine learning models and one deep learning model (ResNet50V2 + Conv1D) were developed and evaluated. RESULTS: Anemic women showed lower a-values, higher L- and b-values across all age groups. Texture features analysis showed that women aged 30-39 with anemia had higher angular second moment (ASM)and lower entropy (ENT) values in facial images, while those aged 40-49 had lower contrast (CON), ENT, and MEAN values in tongue images but higher ASM. Anemic women exhibited age-related trends similar to healthy women, with decreasing L-values and increasing a-, b-, and ASM-values. LASSO identified 19 key features from 62. Among classifiers, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model achieved the best performance [area under the curve (AUC): 0.849, accuracy: 0.781]. The ResNet50V2 model achieved comparable results [AUC: 0.846, accuracy: 0.818]. CONCLUSION Differences in facial and tongue images suggest that color and texture features can serve as potential TCM phenotype and auxiliary diagnostic indicators for female anemia.

The conversion of abundant and low-cost biomass waste into highly efficient two-electron oxygen reduction(ORR)electrocatalyst is an important link in the degradation of pollutants in industrial wastewater through the electro-Fenton process.In this work,porous biocarbon materials doped with manganese and nitrogen(MnNBC)were prepared from corn stalk.The H2O2 selectivity of MnNBC in acidic media was up to 81% @0.6 Vvs RHE,also MnNBC exhibited a long-term stability in a 10-h uninterrupted lifetime test.The ORR activity of MnNBC could be attributed to the synergistic effect of the hierarchical porous structure,improved defect level and heteroatom doping.Moreover,MnNBC as a cathode material for the electro-Fenton system could completely degrade four kinds of common organic dye pollutants,e.g.,Rhodamine B,methyl orange,methylene blue and crystal violet(25 mg/L),respectively,within 40?60 min.The present study provided valuable insights into the transformation of corn stalk waste into efficient cathode materials for the electro-Fenton process.

Risks of food safety induced by small molecule drug residues in animal food and environment have become an increasing public concern,so it is necessary to develop highly sensitive and easy-to-operate techniques to detect small molecules.Herein,a metasurface plasma resonance(MetaSPR)sensor chip coupled with gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)was developed for detection of enrofloxacin(ENR)based on competitive immunoassay.The detection range of the sensor for ENR was 0.025-3.2 ng/mL,and the detection limit(3σ)was 20 pg/mL.The biosensor showed excellent performance including high selectivity,good stability,ease to operate and high throughput,etc.The developed method was applied to detection of ENR residues in real samples,with recoveies of 96.0% -105.0%.The proposed sensing strategy provided new technique reference for detection of other small molecules in the field of residue analysis in food safety and environment monitoring.

Sarin(GB)is a typical representative of nerve agents with high toxicity,and very low amount can cause death.GB can cause water and atmospheric environment poisoning,so the detection of GB in water and air is of great significance.In this work,a colorimetric sensor array(CSA)based on GB inhibition of cholinesterase activity was constructed to detect GB with high selectivity.A 4×4 colorimetric array was constructed using acetylcholinesterase(AChE),butyryl cholinesterase(BuChE)and the corresponding substrate acetylthiocholine iodide(S-ACh),butyryl thiocholine iodide(S-BCh),acetylcholine chloride(ACh),butyryl choline chloride(BCh)and 2,6-dichloroindophenol ethyl ester(DCIE).The linear curve of the sensor was Y=131.3×lgC+271.6(R2=0.997),where Y was the array response Euclidean distance,C was the concentration of GB(mg/L),the linear range was 0.03?0.32 mg/L,and the detection limit was 27.6 μg/L.The method could effectively distinguish chemical warfare agents(CWA)such as VX,Soman(GD),mustard gas(HD),Louie reagent(L),and had high anti-interference ability,sensitivity and good repeatability.It was successfully applied to the detection of GB in simulated water and simulated air samples,and the sample recovery rate was 97.2% ?100.9%.This method would be potentially applied to the field rapid detection of nerve agents.
