Objective:To compare the diagnostic efficacy of the added 99Tc m-methoxyisobutylisonitrile (MIBI) SPECT/CT imaging (tomography imaging) after early or delayed planar imaging in different types of hyperparathyroidism, and to seek for the optimal timing of preoperative imaging. Methods:A total of 339 patients (148 males, 191 females, age (52±13) years) with primary or secondary hyperparathyroidism and pathological results from January 2016 to June 2024 in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into primary early tomography imaging group ( n=63) and delayed tomography imaging group ( n=47), secondary early tomography imaging group ( n=89) and delayed tomography imaging group ( n=140). χ2 test was used to compare the diagnostic efficacies of early and delayed tomography imaging. Results:The difference of accuracy between primary delayed (98.40%(185/188)) and early tomography imaging (94.84%(239/252)) was statistically significant ( χ2=3.90, P=0.048). There were significant differences in sensitivity (77.29%(405/524) and 85.40%(275/322)), accuracy (75.89%(425/560) and 83.99%(299/356)) and negative predictive value (14.39%(20/139) and 33.80%(24/71)) between secondary delayed and early tomography imaging ( χ2 values: 8.33, 8.61, 10.70, all P<0.01). Conclusion:The optimal timing of preoperative 99Tc m-MIBI SPECT/CT imaging for primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism is after delayed planar imaging and after early planar imaging respectively.

Schizophyllum commune has emerged as the most promising model mushroom to study developmental stages (mycelium, primordium), which are two primary processes of fruit body development. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) has been proved to participate in fruit development and sex differentiation in fungi. However, potential lncRNAs have not been identified in S. commune from mycelium to primordium developmental stages. In this study, lncRNA-seq was performed in S. commune and 61.56 Gb clean data were generated from mycelium and primordium developmental stages. Furthermore, 191 lncRNAs had been obtained and a total of 49 lncRNAs were classified as differently expressed lncRNAs.Additionally, 26 up-regulated differently expressed lncRNAs and 23 down-regulated between mycelium and primordia libraries were detected. Further, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed that differentially expressed lncRNAs target genes from the MAPK pathway, phosphatidylinositol signal, ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, autophagy, and cell cycle. This study provides a new resource for further research on the relationship between lncRNA and two developmental stages (mycelium, primordium) in S. commune

Purpose: This study aimed to establish whether computed tomography (CT)–determined sarcopenia is a useful imaging biomarker for postoperative outcome in elderly colorectal cancer (CRC) patients, and construct sarcopenia-based nomograms to predict individual outcomes after surgery. Materials and Methods: CT imaging data of 298 elderly CRC patients who underwent surgery in 2012-2014 were retrospectively analyzed. Skeletal muscle mass was determined by CT, and sarcopenia was diagnosed based on the optimal cutoff value determined by X-tile program. The correlation between sarcopenia and risk of preoperative nutrition and postoperative complications was evaluated. A Cox proportional hazards model was used to determine survival predictors. Sarcopenia-based nomograms were developed based on multivariate analysis, and calibrated using concordance index and calibration curves. Results: A total 132 patients (44.3%) had sarcopenia based on the optimum cutoff values (29.9 cm2/m2 for women and 49.5 cm2/m2 for men). Sarcopenia was an independent risk factor for preoperative nutrition (p < 0.001; odds ratio [OR], 3.405; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.948 to 5.954) and postoperative complications (p=0.008; OR, 2.192; 95% CI, 1.231 to 3.903). Sarcopenia was an independent predictor for poor progression-free survival (p < 0.001; hazard ratio [HR], 2.175; 95% CI, 1.489 to 3.179) and overall survival (p < 0.001; HR, 2.524; 95% CI, 1.721 to 3.703). Based on multivariate analysis, we produced four nomograms that had better predictive performance. Conclusion CT-determined sarcopenia is a useful imaging biomarker for predicting preoperative nutritional risk, postoperative complications, and long-term outcomes in elderly CRC patients. The sarcopenia-based nomograms can provide a scientific basis for guiding therapeutic schedule and follow-up strategies.

Objective To analyze the patients with infection before transfusion in onder to avoid misdiagnosis and blood transfusion caused by cross-infection and remind medical staff attention to operation and self-protection.Methods HBsAg,Anti-HCV,Anti-TP,Anti-HIV1/2 were detecced by 2 576 cases of pre-operative,prenatal,blood transfusions before the patient's blood ELISA assay.Results 2 576 cases of infectious markers in patients with serum positive rate was 12.15％.The positive rates of was HBsAg,Anti-HCV,Anti-TP,Anti-HIV1/2:11.06％,2.13％,1.67％,0.00％,HBsAg and Anti-HCV were positive for both the percentage of 0.54％.Conclusion The transfusion of pre-infection detection is necessary for patients with early diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases to avoid and prevent hospital infections,medical personnel,as well as occupational infection to reduce or avoid blood transfusion caused by medical disputes.

The gene encoding the VP28 envelope protein of White spot syndrome virus (WSSV)was cloned into expression vector pET-30a and transformed into the Escherichia coli strain BL21.After induction,the recombinant VP28 (rVP28) protein was purified and then used to immunize Balb/c mice for monoclonal antibody (MAb) production.It was observed by immuno-electron microscopy the MAbs specific to rVP28 could recognize native VP28 target epitopes of WSSV and dot-blot analysis was used to detect natural WSSV infection.Competitive PCR showed that the viral level was approximately 104 copies/mg tissue in the dilution of gill homogenate of WSSV-infected crayfish at the detection limit of dot-blot assay.Our results suggest that dot-blot analysis with anti-rVP28 MAb could rapidly and sensitively detect WSSV at the early stages of WSSV infection.

Objective To study the general toxicity of formaldehyde on germ cells and its effects on the SDH activity in testicle tissue of mice. Methods The 30 male Kunming mice were divided into 5 groups. 3 groups as exposure groups were in-traperitoneally injected with formaldehyde at doses of 0.20, 2.00 and 20.00 mg/kg respectively and continuously for 5 days. The other 2 groups were considered as controls positive and negative group. The pathological changes of testicle tissue of mice were observed by microscopy and the activity of SDH in testicle tissue was determined. The sperm count and the abnormal sperm's heads were observed by microscopy. Results Formaldehyde could induce the degeneration and necrosis in germ cells of mice. With the increases of the exposure doses of formaldehyde, the sperm count and the activity of SDH in testicle tissue of mice decreased (P
