Acta Medicinae Universitatis Scientiae et Technologiae Huazhong 2025;54(3):415-422
Objective To compare and analyze the disease burden of stroke related to high systolic blood pressure(HSBP)in China and globally. Methods Data were collected and organized from the GBD 2021 on the age-specific and sex-specific mortali-ty rates and disability-adjusted life years(DALY)rates for stroke attributable to HSBP in China and globally from 1990 to 2021.The Joinpoint regression model was used to analyze trends in the disease burden of stroke attributable to HSBP.The Bayesian age-period-cohort(BAPC)model was applied to predict future disease burden of stroke attributable to HSBP in China and globally. Results From 1990 to 2021,the age-standardized mortality rate(ASMR)and age-standardized disability-adjusted life years(ASDR)for stroke attributable to HSBP in China were both higher than the global trends, and the rate of decline was slower than that of the global trend. The decline was slower in males compared to females.By 2021,China's ASMR and ASDR had decreased to 77.73 per 100000(AAPC=-1.31%)and 1484.39 per 100000 person-years(AAPC=-1.34%),respective-ly.The disease burden of stroke attributable to HSBP both in China and globally was primarily concentrated in the elderly popu-lation.In China, except for the 25-34 age group, the mortality rate and DALY rate in all other age groups showed a downward trend. It is projected that, over the next 10 years, both China's and the global ASMR and ASDR for stroke attributable to HSBP will continue to decline, and the decline in China was expected to be greater than the global trend. Conclusion Although the ASMR and ASDR for stroke attributable to HSBP in China show a declining trend, the prevention and treatment situation re-mains challenging. The disease burden is higher among the elderly and males, and the lack of improvement in the disease burden among the 25-34 age group requires attention. In the future, preventive and treatment measures for stroke related to HSBP should be further refined based on existing experience.

Objective:To explore the training experiences of palliative care nurses participating in a prognosis disclosure workshop based on Kolb's experiential learning model, and to provide references for future educational programs in palliative care nursing. Methods:Using purposive sampling, 11 nurses were recruited who had participated in the "Palliative Care Competency Training Program for Nurses" in Shanghai between March and May 2025 and selected the Third Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University as their clinical training site. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, and data were analyzed using Colaizzi's seven-step method. Results:A total of three major themes emerged: a sense of benefit from enhanced competencies; complex emotional experiences; recommendations for course optimisation. Conclusions:Workshops based on Kolb's experiential learning model offer positive value in palliative care education. They effectively improve core competencies such as communication and empathy. However, the emotional experiences of nurses must also be considered, and multifaceted optimizations to the training design are recommended to further enhance training outcomes.

Objective:To systematically evaluate and synthesize qualitative research on the care experiences and coping strategies of family caregivers in home-based hospice care, so as to provide a reference for developing systematic support strategies for these caregivers. Methods:Qualitative studies on the care experience and coping strategies of family caregivers in home-based hospice care were electronically and systematically retrieved from PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, SinoMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang Data, and VIP. The search period was from database establishment to March 2025. The literature quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Center for Evidence-Based Health Care Quality Assessment Criteria for Qualitative Research. The results were analyzed and synthesized through the aggregative integration method. The quality rating of the integrated findings was conducted using the Confidence in the Qualitative Evidence developed by the Joanna Briggs Institute Center for Evidence-Based Health Care. Results:A total of 17 studies were included. Ninety research findings were extracted and categorized into 14 categories, ultimately synthesizing into four integrated findings, including the multifaceted impacts of home-based hospice care on family caregivers' physical and mental well-being and daily lives, the diverse coping strategies sought by family caregivers in home-based hospice care, the varying attitudes toward death among family caregivers, and the external difficulties and challenges faced by family caregivers. The integrated evidence rating indicated that three integrated evidence bodies were of moderate quality, while one evidence body was of low quality. Conclusions:Healthcare providers should recognize the multifaceted impact of home-based hospice care on family caregivers, identify caregiving challenges, and provide personalized support to enhance both the caregivers' quality of life and the patient's quality of dying.
5.Association between screen time and anxiety-depression symptoms and their comorbidity among middle school students in Taiyuan City
Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(7):980-984
Objective:
To investigate the association between screen time (ST) during leisure time and anxiety-depression symptoms among middle school students, so as to provide a basis for formulating relevant intervention measures.
Methods:
From November to December 2023, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 2 542 students from junior and senior high school in Taiyuan City. A self designed questionnaire, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), and the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) were used to investigate ST and anxiety/depression symptoms among middle school students. The Logistic regression model was used to explore the association of ST with symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as with anxiety and depression comorbiditles (CAD).
Results:
The detection rates of anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms, and CAD were 13.69%, 15.77%, and 10.11%, respectively. The median ST was 2.00 h/d [interquartile range ( IQR =2.38) for weekly averages], with 0.33 h/d ( IQR =1.67) on work days and 5.00 h/d ( IQR=5.50) on rest days. Logistic regression analysis indicated that the total ST of mobile phones during rest days ( OR =1.07, 1.10, 1.11) and the averages ST of mobile phones over a week ( OR = 1.20 , 1.22, 1.29), as well as the total ST of all screen types during rest days ( OR =1.04, 1.04, 1.05) and the averages ST of all screen types over a week ( OR =1.08, 1.09, 1.21) were positively correlated with anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms, and CAD (all P <0.01).
Conclusions
Among middle school students in Taiyuan City, screen time is positively correlated with symptoms of anxiety or depression and the comorbidity of anxiety and depression, especially smartphone screen time and weekend screen use. Therefore, measures should be implemented to reduce unnecessary screen time among middle school students, especially the use of mobile phones, in order to mitigate the occurrence of anxiety and depression.
