Abstract To understand the relationship between cardiovascular disease (CVD) and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the present review aims to describe the burden and influencing factors of CVD, epidemiological characteristics and burden of ACEs, current research on the relationship between ACEs and CVD, and the mechanism of ACEs leading to CVD. It is proposed that further assessment of the relationship is warranted through identifying blood biomarkers, conducting prospective cohort studies and intervention studies. Such efforts would provide valuable scientific insights for primary prevention strategies for cardiovascular disease.

Objective To explore the mechanism of the gut-lung axis in paraquat-induced lung injury in mice, with a focus on analyzing the changes in intestinal gene expression and their potential roles. Methods Specific pathogen-free C57BL/6 wild-type mice were randomly divided into control, low-dose, and high-dose groups, with 10 mice in each group. Mice in the three groups received a single intragastric administration of paraquat solution at doses of 0, 25, or 50 mg/kg body weight. The mice were euthanized on day 21. Lung histopathological changes were assessed, and the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the intestinal tissues of mice in these two groups were analyzed through transcriptomics. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses were conducted to explore potential mechanisms of the gut-lung axis in paraquat-induced lung injury and fibrosis. Results Paraquat exposure induced dose-dependent pulmonary injury and fibrosis in the mice. The Ashcroft score of lung tissue was higher in the mice of low-dose group than that in the control group (P<0.05). Both the lung organ coefficient and Ashcroft score of lung tissues in the mice of high-dose group were higher than those in the control group and the low-dose group (all P<0.05). The result of transcriptomic analysis showed 146 DEGs, including 91 upregulated and 55 downregulated genes, in intestinal tissues of mice in the low-dose group, and 57 DEGs, including 47 upregulated and 10 downregulated genes in the high-dose group, compared with the control group. Notably, 19 DEGs were commonly altered in both low- and high-dose groups. The result of GO enrichment analysis showed that the DEGs were primarily involved in biological processes including "immune response", "oxidative stress" and "cell differentiation". The result of KEGG enrichment analyses showed that DEGs were primarily involved in key processes including "oxidative stress response path way", "immune response path way" and "digestion and absorption path way". Conclusion Paraquat exposure alters intestinal gene expression, particularly in genes in biological processes related to immune responses and oxidative stress. These changes may mediate inflammatory signaling via the gut-lung axis and contribute to the development of paraquat-induced pulmonary fibrosis.

Objective: To analyze the implementation status and challenges of sex education in special education schools, so as to provide a scientific basis for formulating effective promotion strategies. Methods: From November 2023 to January 2024, a census survey was conducted among 120 in service teachers from 7 special education schools in Luzhou. The questionnaire covered the current status of sex education in schools, teachers attitudes and knowledge toward sex education, and their coping methods for students inappropriate sexual behaviors. Results: About 77.5% of teachers reported having provided sex education to students, but 93.2% indicated a lack of specialized sex education textbooks for special children, 90.4% reported no full time teachers for sex education, and the methods of sex education were relatively limited (50.0% mainly based on lecture method). Nearly 95.8% of teachers held a positive attitude toward sex education, with 98.3% supporting its implementation. Only 26.7% of teachers demonstrated a good grasp of sex education knowledge, with the best understood topic being "recognition and protection of private parts" (21.6%). When dealing with students inappropriate sexual behaviors, the active response rate of teachers was 23.9%, with the highest active response rate observed for "intentionally hugging or kissing the opposite sex" (39.7%). Conclusions The special education schools in Luzhou lack comprehensive sex education curricula, teaching materials and full time teachers, sufficient knowledge among teachers, and adequate proactive responses to students inappropriate sexual behaviors. Greater emphasis should be placed on sex education for special children, including the training of dedicated teachers, to provide comprehensive and high quality sex education services for special children.

The cellular and molecular components of the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) and their information exchange processes significantly influence the trends of anti-tumor immunity. In recent years, numerous studies have begun to evaluate TIME in the context of previous cancer treatment strategies. This review will systematically summarize the compositional characteristics of TIME and, based on this foundation, explore the impact of current cancer therapies on the remodeling of TIME, aiming to provide new insights for the development of innovative immune combination therapies that can convert TIME into an anti-tumor profile.

Muenke syndrome is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder that is typically characterized by unilateral or bilateral coronal synostosis, macrocephaly, midface hypoplasia, and developmental delays. This article reports a case of Muenke syndrome with a soft cleft palate. A heterozygous missense mutation c.749C>G (p.P250A) was identified in the FGFR3 gene through genetic testing. The patient exhibited typical features including coronal synostosis, bilateral hearing loss, right accessory auricle, and developmental delays and underwent surgery to repair the soft cleft palate. Cases of Muenke syndrome with cleft palate in the literature are relatively rare, and common associated symptoms include coronal suture craniosynostosis and hearing impairment. This article reports a differential diagnosis with other craniosynostosis syndromes and provides a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To analyze differential metabolites (DMs) in the urine of workers with occupational nickel exposure using non-targeted metabolomics, and to screen differential metabolic pathways. Methods A total of 30 nickel exposed workers were selected as the exposure group, and 30 administrative staff from the same factory were selected as the control group using the judgment sampling method. Urine samples of the individuals from the two groups were collected. The ultra-high performance liquid chromatography with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry and non-targeted metabolomics were used to detect and identify metabolites. The differential metabolic profiles were compared between workers of the two groups, and key differential metabolic pathways and potential biomarkers were screened. The association of DMs and urinary nickel level were evaluated by Spearman correlation coefficients. The sensitivity and specificity of biomarkers were assessed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results A total of 418 metabolites were identified in the urine of worker in the exposure and control groups. The result of principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least squares analysis showed that there were 128 DMs in the urine of workers in the exposure group compared with the control group. These DMs were mainly enriched in glutathione metabolism, carnitine synthesis, and amino acid and nucleotide metabolism pathways, including glycine and serine metabolism. The result of correlation analysis and ROC curve analysis revealed that 4-methylcatechol, 4-vinylphenol sulfate, 2-hydroxyphenylacetone sulfate, 2-dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid, and decylbenzenesulfonic acid could be the potential biomarkers for nickel exposure (all area under the ROC curve >0.800). Conclusion There were significant differences in the urinary metabolic profiles of workers with occupational nickel exposure. The five DMs including 4-methylcatechol, 4-vinylphenol sulfate, 2-hydroxyphenylacetone sulfate, 2-dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid, and decylbenzenesulfonic acid. These DMs could be potential biomarkers of occupational nickel exposure.

Purpose To explore the clinical value of quantitative assessment of renal perfusion using ultrasound contrast imaging for the auxiliary diagnosis of type 2 diabetic nephropathy.Materials and Methods This prospective study was conducted from May 2017 to December 2019 at the First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital.A total of 41 patients with type 2 diabetes and renal function abnormalities,who were scheduled for renal biopsy,underwent contrast-enhanced ultrasound.Differences in contrast imaging parameters,including time to peak in the renal cortex,peak enhancement,mean transit time local,and area under the curve between diabetic nephropathy and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis were compared,and the correlation between imaging parameters and pathological results was analyzed.Results Among 41 patients,30 cases were diagnosed as diabetic nephropathy,and 11 cases were diagnosed as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.The peak enhancement and area under the curve in the diabetic nephropathy group were significantly lower than those in the focal segmental glomerulosclerosis group[peak enhancement:3 837.16(2 449.16,5 929.16)vs.8 508.00(4 334.88,21 201.00),Z=-2.766,P=0.006;area under the curve:0.14±0.05 vs.0.19±0.05,t=-3.135,P=0.003].In the diabetic nephropathy group,peak enhancement showed a negative correlation with the global glomerulosclerosis rate(r=-0.489,P=0.006).Conclusion Contrast-enhanced ultrasound can quantitatively evaluate renal perfusion and has certain clinical value in assisting the diagnosis of type 2 diabetic nephropathy.

Objective To construct a postoperative lung infection preventive care program for lung cancer patients and carry out preliminary validation,so as to provide a reference basis that can be used in clinical practice.Methods Literature analysis was carried out to search domestic and international databases,guideline networks,and association websites,with a search timeframe of January 2011 to December 2021,to obtain relevant evidence,to construct a preliminary draft of a preventive care program for postoperative lung infections in patients with lung cancer,and to use the Delphi method of correspondence with experts from Guangdong Province,Henan Province,and Sichuan Province,September-December 2022,to determine the content of the program.Correspondence to determine the content of the program.In November-December 2023,15 thoracic surgery nurses and 15 lung cancer patients in a tertiary hospital in Shantou City were selected for the initial application of the program and evaluated the effectiveness of the program through the nurses'clinical significance,applicability,feasibility,and patient satisfaction.Results A total of 21 experts completed 2 rounds of correspondence.95.65％and 95.45％of questionnaires were retumed in the 2 rounds of correspondence;the authority coefficients of the experts were 0.941 and 0.948;the Kendall's harmony coefficients were 0.176 and 0.310;the coefficients of variation for each item in the 2nd round of correspondence were 0.04～0.25.The final draft of the program included 10 aspects and 37 measures,such as teamwork,health education,risk assessment,rehabilitation training,fluid management,oral manage-ment,airway management,nutritional management,pain management,line management,and other 10 areas with 37 measures.After the initial application of the program,100％of the nurses thought that the program was meaningful,87％of the nurses thought that the program was clinically applicable and feasible,and 100％of the patients indicated that they were satisfied with the program,of which 80％were very satisfied.Conclusion The constructed nursing program for preventing postoperative lung infection in lung cancer patients is scientific,relevant and feasible,and can provide references for clinical health care personnel to develop measures for preventing postoperative lung infection in lung cancer patients.

BACKGROUND:The expression efficiency of recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype 9(rAAV9)carrying the macrophage-specific promoter synthetic promoter 146-C1(SP146-C1)and the exogenous gene vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGFC)in atherosclerosis is uncertain. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the expression efficiency of rAAV9-SP146-C1-VEGFC in atherosclerotic mice and its effect on lymphangiogenesis. METHODS:Thirty ApoE-/-mice were fed high-fat diet for 12 weeks to establish atherosclerosis models and were randomly divided into six groups,five in each group:7-,14-,21-,28-,and 35-day transfection groups and control group.The mice in the transfection groups were transfected with 5.0×1011 vg rAAV9-SP146-C1-VEGFC by caudal vein injection.In the control group,the mice were injected with the same amount of control virus rAAV9-SP146-C1-Scramble.Animals in the first five groups were killed under anesthesia at 7,14,21,28 and 35 days after transfection,respectively,and those in the control group were killed under anesthesia at 7 days.Serum,femur,tibia,heart and aorta tissue samples were collected and retained in each group.The femur and tibia of mice in each group were used to extract bone marrow-derived macrophages.The gene expression of vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGFC),vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3(VEGFR3),Podoplanin and lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronan receptor-1(LYVE-1)in bone marrow-derived macrophages and the aorta were detected by RT-qPCR.VEGFC protein expression levels in bone marrow-derived macrophages and the aorta were detected by western blot,serum level of VEGFC was detected by ELISA,and VEGFC expression in the aortic sinus and LYVE-1 expression around the aorta and in the myocardium was detected by immunofluorescence. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The serum level of VEGFC,the mRNA expression of VEGFC,VEGFR3,Podoplanin,and LYVE-1 in bone marrow-derived macrophages and the aorta,the protein expression of VEGFC in bone marrow-derived macrophages,and the fluorescence intensity of VEGFC in aortic sinus plaques were significantly increased in the 7-day transfection group compared with the control group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).Serum VEGFC level of mice transfected with rAAV9-SP146-C1-VEGFC gradually increased with time and began to decrease at 28 days.mRNA levels of VEGFC,VEGFR3,Podoplanin and LYVE-1 in mouse aorta and bone marrow-derived macrophages,VEGFC protein level in bone marrow-derived macrophages,VEGFC fluorescence intensity in aortic sinus plaques,LYVE-1 fluorescence intensity around the aortic sinus and in the myocardium gradually increased with time(P＜0.05).In addition,the mRNA level of LYVE-1 in the aorta and the fluorescence intensity of LYVE-1 around the aortic sinus and in the myocardium were the highest at 28 days(P＜0.05),and gradually decreased(P＜0.05).The expression of the other indicators reached the peak at 21 days.To conclude,rAAV9-SP146-C1-VEGFC could effectively transfect bone marrow-derived macrophages and promote lymphatic hyperplasia in atherosclerotic mice.

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effect of Tiaoxin formula in the treatment of patients with coronary heart disease and anxiety/depression and its impact on serum levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine （5-HT）， β- thromboglobulin （β-TG） and myeloperoxidase （MPO）. MethodA total of 66 patients with coronary heart disease and anxiety/depression were randomly divided into the Tiaoxin formula group and Deanxit group， 33 cases in each group. Both groups were given fundamental western treatment for coronary heart disease. Additionally， the Deanxit group was treated with flupentixol and melitracen tablets and the Tiaoxin formula group was treated with Tiaoxin Formula. The treatment lasted 8 weeks. Before and after treatment， the changes of clinical efficacy， Patient Health Questionnaire （PHQ-9）， Generalized Anxiety Disorder （GAD-7） scale， Seattle Angina Questionnaire （SAQ）， heart rate variability， and serum 5-HT， β-TG and MPO levels， and incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were observed. ResultThere was no significant difference in the baseline indexes of patients in the two groups， and thus the two groups were comparable. After treatment for 8 weeks， the total effective rate for traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） syndromes in the Tiaoxin Formula group was 87.88% （29/33） higher than 63.64% （21/33） in the Deanxit group （Z=-2.653， P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， the PHQ-9 and GAD-7 scores of the two groups were decreased at week 4 and 8 of treatment （P<0.05）， and there was no statistical difference between two groups. And the SAQ dimension scores of the two groups were increased at week 4 and 8 of treatment （P<0.05）. Compared with the Deanxit group， the Tiaoxin Formula group had elevation in two dimension scores： Physical limitation and angina stability （P<0.05）. Compared with the conditions before treatment， the serum 5-HT level in the two groups were increased， while the β-TG and MPO levels were lowered （P<0.05）， and there was no distinct difference between two groups. In addition， the standard deviation of normal-to-normal intervals （SDNN） and standard deviation of average normal-to-normal intervals （SDANN） of the heart rate variability in the Tiaoxin formula group were elevated after treatment （P<0.05）， which were more significant than those of the Deanxit group （P<0.05）. During the treatment period， the incidence of adverse drug reactions in the Tiaoxin formula group was lower than that in the Deanxit group （P<0.05）， and no adverse events were observed in the two groups. ConclusionTiaoxin formula was effective for the treatment of patients with coronary heart disease accompanied by anxiety and depression， which improved the clinical symptoms， increased serum 5-HT levels， and decreased serum β-TG and MPO levels， and had few adverse reactions and high safety for patients， showing a high clinical value.
