Objective:To understand the current status of epidemiological investigation task force construction and the performance of infectious disease epidemic response in county (district) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCs) in China, analyze the influencing factors and provide scientific evidence to improve the construction of grassroot epidemiological investigation task force.Methods:A survey was conducted in epidemiological investigation staff in county (district) CDCs in 31 provinces (autonomous regions/municipalities) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in China. A self-designed questionnaire was used to collect information based on the epidemiological dynamic data collection platform of China CDC. A descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted, and multiple linear regression models were used to identify the factors associated with the performance of infectious disease epidemic response.Results:A total of 24 934 epidemiological investigation task force members from 2 897 county (district) CDCs were surveyed in the study. In the epidemiological investigation task force, women, those with bachelor's degree and public health workers accounted for 62.46%, 71.36%, and 49.05% respectively. Up to 91.72% of the task force members had participated in field epidemic response. The average score of awareness of epidemic investigation procedures was 60.00, while the average score of key skill proficiency in the investigation was 42.22. The epidemic response performance showed correlations with area, gender, age, education level, major, and field epidemiology training programs, those who had received longer training showed higher competency scores (all P<0.001). Conclusions:Progress has been made in the construction of epidemiological investigation task force in grass-root CDCs in China, but further improvements are needed, especially in the knowledge awareness and investigation skills of the task force. Field epidemiology training demonstrated substantial impact on the improvement of epidemic response performance, indicating that it is necessary to further strengthen the training in grassroot public health workers for the better response to infectious disease epidemics.

Objective:To understand the awareness of influenza and influenza vaccine, influenza incidence, influenza vaccination status and intention and related factors in primary and secondary school teachers.Methods:Cross-sectional study design and stratified random sampling method were used to select 5 teachers from each of 51 primary schools and 40 middle schools in a district of Beijing from April 17 to 21, 2024. A questionnaire survey was conducted in the selected teachers with an estimated sample size of 1 040. The survey collected the information about their demographic characteristics, awareness of influenza and influenza vaccine, influenza incidence, influenza vaccination status and intention. Multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors related to influenza vaccination status and intention.Results:In the 975 primary and secondary school teachers, the awareness of susceptibility and severity of influenza and the benefits of influenza vaccination were high. In terms of safety of influenza vaccine, 48.00% (468/975) of the teachers believed that adverse reaction would occur after the vaccination. Influenza like illness occurred in 41.13% (401/975) of the teachers during 2023-2024, and in these teachers, 40.15% (161/401) asked for leave from work due to illness, 40.90% (164/401) sought medical care and 32.93% (54/164) were influenza virus positive. In the 975 teachers, 13.95% (136/975) were vaccinated against influenza during 2023-2024 and 34.46% (336/975) were willing to be vaccinated against influenza during 2024-2025. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that being teacher in charge of a class (a OR=1.58, 95% CI: 1.06-2.35), believing that influenza vaccination could effectively prevent influenza (a OR=1.99, 95% CI: 1.05-3.80), believing that teachers' vaccination could improve students' willingness to be vaccinated (a OR=1.98, 95% CI: 1.12-3.50) were the positive factors for teachers' vaccination, and worrying about adverse reactions after the vaccination (a OR=0.52, 95% CI: 0.34-0.80) was the negative factor. Doctors' recommendation (a OR=2.62, 95% CI: 1.41-4.86) and free influenza vaccination (a OR=10.26, 95% CI: 5.17-20.39) were positively correlated with teachers' intention to influenza vaccination. Conclusions:Primary and secondary school teachers in a district of Beijing had high awareness of influenza and influenza vaccine, but their awareness of influenza vaccine safety should be improved. The incidence of influenza-related infection was high in the primary and secondary school teachers. The influenza vaccination rate was low and the willingness to receive influenza vaccination in following year was not strong. For the better prevention and control of influenza in schools, it is necessary to strengthen the health education in primary and secondary school teachers to improve their awareness of influenza vaccine safety and vaccination rate.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of Xiaoji Hufei Formula in protecting children with close contact exposure to influenza， and to provide reference and evidence-based support for better clinical prevention and treatment of influenza in children. MethodsA multicenter， prospective， non-randomized， parallel， controlled trial was conducted from October 2021 to May 2022 in five hospitals， including Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Confirmed influenza cases and influenza-like illness （ILI） cases were collected， and eligible children with close contact exposure to these cases were recruited in the outpatient clinics. According to whether the enrolled close contacts were willing to take Xiaoji Hufei formula for influenza prevention， they were assigned to the observation group （108 cases） or the control group （108 cases）. Follow-up visits were conducted on days 7 and 14 after enrollment. The primary outcomes were the incidence of ILI and the rate of laboratory-confirmed influenza. Secondary outcomes included traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） symptom score scale for influenza， influenza-related emergency （outpatient） visit rate， influenza hospitalization rate， and time to onset after exposure to influenza cases. ResultsA total of 216 participants were enrolled， with 108 in the observation group and 108 in the control group. Primary outcomes： （1） Incidence of ILI： The incidence was 12.0% （13/108） in the observation group and 23.1% （25/108） in the control group， with the observation group showing a significantly lower incidence （χ²=4.6， P<0.05）. （2） Influenza confirmation rate： 3.7% （4/108） in the observation group and 4.6% （5/108） in the control group， with no statistically significant difference. Secondary outcomes： （1） TCM symptom score scale： after onset， nasal congestion and runny nose scores differed significantly between the two groups （P<0.05）， while other symptoms such as fever， sore throat， and cough showed no significant differences. （2） Influenza-related emergency （outpatient） visit rate： 84.6% （11 cases） in the observation group and 96.0% （24 cases） in the control group， with no significant difference. （3） Time to onset after exposure： The median onset time after exposure to index patients was 7 days in the observation group and 4 days in the control group， with a statistically significant difference （P<0.05）. ConclusionIn previously healthy children exposed to infectious influenza cases under unprotected conditions， Xiaoji Hufei formula prophylaxis significantly reduced the incidence of ILI. Xiaoji Hufei Formula can be recommended as a specific preventive prescription for influenza in children.

Ultrasound has emerged as a non-invasive neural modulation technique. Its mechanisms of action in the brain involve mechanical, cavitation, and thermal effects, which modulate neural activity by activating mechanosensitive ion channels, enhancing cell permeability, and improving blood circulation. The ultrasound-piezo-electric systems, based on the coupling between ultrasound and piezoelectric materials, can generate wireless electrical stimulation to promote neural repair, significantly improving therapeutic outcomes for neurodegenerative diseases and showing potential as a replacement for traditional invasive deep brain stimulation techniques. The ultrasound-responsive piezoelectric drug delivery system combines mechano-electrical conversion capability of piezoelectric materials with the non-invasive penetration advantage of ultrasound. This system achieves synergistic therapeutic effects for neurodegenerative diseases through on-demand drug release and wireless electrical stimulation in deep brain regions. It can effectively overcome the blood-brain barrier limitation, enabling precisely targeted drug delivery to specific brain regions. Simultaneously, it generates electrical stimulation in deep brain areas to exert synergistic neuroreparative effects. Together, these capabilities provide a more precise, efficient, and safe solution for treating neurodegenerative diseases. This review summarizes the neural regulatory mechanisms, technical advantages, and research progress of the ultrasound-responsive piezoelectric drug delivery systems for neurodegenerative disease therapy, aiming to offer novel insights for the field.

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of subcutaneous asymmetric tension reduction combined with dermal buried angular mattress suture in surgical treatment of benign pigmented facial lesions in infants and preschoolers.Methods:Totally, 100 infants and preschoolers with pigmented facial lesions were enrolled from the Department of Dermatology, Hanzhong Central Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi′an Jiaotong University from January 2018 to January 2019, and their clinical data were analyzed retrospectively. Among these patients, there were 59 males and 41 females, and their age ranged from 3 months to 5 years, with an average age of 15 months. All patients underwent outpatient surgery under local anesthesia, and sedative drugs were used before operation. The skin lesions were excised once or in stages according to their areas, and incisions were closed by using a subcutaneous asymmetric suture-based tension reduction technique, followed by dermal buried angular mattress sutures. After surgery, medical silicone gels and tension reduction devices were used for 6 months to 1 year, and postoperative follow-up was performed.Results:All patients were followed up for more than 1 year after surgery. Four patients showed suture rejection reaction within two months after surgery, and the incisions completely healed after the suture knots were discharged; cat′s ear-shaped scars were formed at the upper and lower ends of the incisions in 3 cases when the sutures were removed 1 week after surgery, no treatment was given, and the cat′s ear-shaped scars gradually became flat after 1 year of follow-up; fat liquefaction occurred in 1 case 4 days after surgery, re-suturing of the incision was done 1 week after the removal of internal sutures and drainage, and the incision healed well; 1 case developed infection 3 days after surgery, and then received the removal of internal sutures, drainage, and anti-infection treatment, re-suturing was performed after complete regression of the incision swelling, and the incisions healed well; scar hyperplasia occurred in 4 cases 3 to 6 months after surgery, and the scars became flat after the local injection of triamcinolone acetonide. In the remaining children, fine white linear scars were formed after the healing of incisions, the depressions and ridges at both ends of the incisions became flat, and there was no obvious pulling sensation in facial organs or formation of cat′s ear-shaped scars.Conclusions:Subcutaneous asymmetric tension reduction combined with dermal buried angular mattress suture can effectively reduce tension twice during delicate facial surgery in infants and preschoolers, and help to avoid incision widening and scar hyperplasia. The follow-up showed favorable long-term efficacy and aesthetic effect.

Objective To explore clinical value of the expression levels of cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein molecule 44(CD44)mRNA,cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein molecule 24(CD24)mRNA,and protein in the placenta of severe preeclampsia(SPE)patients.Methods The SPE patients who were delivered by cesarean section in the Second People's Hospital of Liaocheng from June 2019 to June 2022 were further divided into 45 patients in early onset SPE group(gestational age≤34 weeks)and 55 patients in late onset SPE group(gestational age＞34 weeks)according to the different gestational age.The control group consisted of 100 normal cases in the same period.The expression of CD44 and CD24 in placenta of SPE patients was detected by fluorescent quantitative PCR and immunohistochemistry,Pearson method was used to analyze the difference of their expression levels and their correlation with the clinical characteristics of SPE disease,and multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of SPE.Results Compared with the control group,the expression levels of CD44 mRNA(0.55±0.12 vs 1.02±0.33)and CD24 mRNA(0.68±0.19 vs 1.05±0.11)in SPE placental tissues decreased significantly,the differences were statistically significant(t=13.385,16.853,P＜0.05).The immunohistochemical staining results showed that CD44 and CD24 were mostly negative or weakly positive in the SPE group placental tissue,while they were mostly positive in the control group,the positive rates of CD44 and CD24 in the SPE placental tissue were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(χ2=9.696,14.346,P＜0.05).Compared to the early onset SPE group,the expression levels of CD44(0.65±0.17 vs 0.42±0.11)and CD24(0.77±0.23 vs 0.58±0.13)mRNA in placental tissue of late onset SPE were higher,and the differences were statistically significant(t=7.830,4.932,P＜0.05).Compared with the control group,the BMI,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,urinary protein,Cr,LDH and BUN were significantly increased in SPE group(t=5.360～30.241,all P＜0.05).In SPE group,the gestational age was earlier,the MPV and ALB were lower,the newborn's birth length was shorter,and the body weight than control group,the differences were statistically great(t=3.232～11.109,all P＜0.05).The expression of CD44 and CD24 in SPE placenta was positively correlated(r=0.698,P＜0.05),the expression of CD44 in SPE placenta was positively correlated with CD24,gestational week of delivery,MPV and neonatal birth length(r=0.611,0.639,0.612,0.465,all P＜0.05),and was negatively correlated with systolic blood pressure,urinary protein and LDH(r=-0.604,-0.569,-0.593,all P＜0.05).The expression of CD24 was positively correlated with gestational age,MPV and newborn birth length(r=0.605,0.584,0.640,all P＜0.05),and was negatively correlated with systolic blood pressure,urinary protein and LDH(r=-0.637,-0.593,-0.561,all P＜0.05).The results of logistic regression analysis showed that MPV(95％CI:1.429～4.350),urinary protein(95％CI:1.529～2.709),and LDH(95％CI:1.425～3.932)were all independent risk factors for SPE(all P＜0.05).High levels of CD44(95％CI:0.561～0.940)and CD24(95％CI:0.495～0.814)were independent protective factors for SPE(P＜0.05).Conclusion The low expression levels of CD44 and CD24 in placenta of SPE patients are independent protective factors of SPE,which can provide direction for the follow-up treatment of SPE.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the dynamic disinfection effect of the upper-room 222 nm ultraviolet radiation on the air in different areas of the emergency department, and to provide references for a new solution of air disinfection that man-machine coexisted in the medical and healthcare institutions. MethodsThe upper-room 222 nm ultraviolet radiation air sterilizers were installed at a height of 2.3‒2.6 m from the ground in the observation room, computed tomography (CT) scanning room, rescue room and consulting room of the emergency department in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University . The test area was divided into a 222 nm ultraviolet group and a control group according to whether the 222 nm ultraviolet germicidal air disinfection was conducted or not. The experimental group started air disinfection at8:00 a.m., and the air sampling was conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m., with a 10 min sampling interval of every 1 hour. While the control group only collected air sample with the same air sampling method used in the experimental group, without air disinfection. The air microbial sampler with six-level sieve impingement was used for the air sampling, and the differences in the total number of airborne bacterial colonies were compared between the two groups. ResultsA total of 128 air samples were collected in the trial, of which 64 were from the experimental group and 64 from the control group. The total number of airborne bacterial colonies in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (all P<0.001), and was maintained at a lower level throughout the entire period. The killing rate of 222 nm ultraviolet radiation to airborne microorganisms was approximately 55.76% to 76.33% in different sampling areas. The qualified rates of the total number of dynamic airborne bacterial colonies in the observation room, rescue room and consulting room were improved from 12.50%, 37.50% and 25.00% to 81.25%, 100.00% and 100.00%, respectively (all P<0.001). Over 62.50% of the time, the air quality in the consulting room and CT room in the 222 nm ultraviolet group met the environment standards for airborne bacterial colony criteria of class Ⅰ or class Ⅱ. ConclusionThe upper-room222 nm ultraviolet radiation germicidal disinfection can effectively reduce the total number of airborne bacterial colonies and improve the environment for emergency department, and the continuous using of it is helpful for keeping the air safe and clean.
