Acute ischemic stroke is less likely to be caused by carotid artery occlusion related to compression from the hyoid bone. This case report described a patient with acute ischemic stroke due to hyoid bone compression-induced carotid artery occlusion who presented with speech disorder and hemiplegia, without atherosclerotic factors in the past and with exercise history.Head CT angiography showed no atherosclerosis changes in regions outside the offending vessel.Considering the anatomical relationship between hyoid bone and carotid artery, the most reasonable mechanism might be owed to repetitive mechanical compression from ipsilateral greater horn of hyoid bone.It induced endothelial damage to the carotid artery, leading to occlusion and ischemic stroke consequently. It is extremely rare in patients with ischemic stroke.Accordingly, based on the literature review, this study was conducted to explore clinical and imaging manifestations, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of this special clinical manifestation.

Objective To investigate the effect of blood flow restriction combined with low-intensity plyometric jump training(LI-PJT+BFR)on lower limb dynamic postural control of functional ankle instability(FAI)in college students. Methods From March to May,2023,40 FAI college students were recruited from Xi'an Physical Education University, and randomly divided into high-intensity plyometric jump training(HI-PJT,n = 14)group,low-intensity plyomet-ric jump training(LI-PJT,n = 13)group and LI-PJT+BFR group(n = 13).All the groups finished the six-week corresponding training. The maximum voluntary isometric contraction(MVIC)of tibialis anterior, peroneus lon-gus,lateral head of gastrocnemius, gluteus maximus, vastus lateralis, biceps femoris and semitendinosus were measured, and the root mean square(RMS)of electromyography of these muscles was measured during the sin-gle-leg landing(SLL),using wireless surface electromyography before and after intervention. Moreover, they were assessed with Y-balance test and Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool(CAIT). Results MVIC and RMS of the target muscles improved after intervention in all the groups(t>2.218,P<0.05),except MVIC and RMS of peroneus longus, gluteus maximus, biceps femoris and semitendinosus in LI-PJT group, and RMS of peroneus longus in LI-PJT+BFR group;and MVIC and RMS of the target muscles were the least in LI-PJT group(F>3.262,P<0.05),except those of peroneus longus. The extension scores of Y-balance test and the total score improved after intervention(t>2.485,P<0.05),and they were the least in LI-PJT group(F>5.042,P<0.05).The CAIT score improved after intervention(t>5.227,P<0.001),and it was the least in LI-PJT group(F = 4.640,P<0.05). Conclusion LI-PJT+BFR could improve lower limb dynamic postural control of FAI college students, which is similar to HI-PJT.

Objective To evaluate the role of miR-143, miR-145 in the development of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Methods The expression levels of miR-143 and miR-145 in 21 cases of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor and the matched non-tumor adjacent tissue specimens were examined by stem-loop real-time RT-PCR, and its correlation with clinicopathologic features of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor were analyzed. Results Expression level of miR-145 were significantly higher in tumor than adjacent normal tissues (P<0.01 ) and that with mitotic count ≥ 5/50HPF cases was significantly lower than that with mitotic count <5/50HPF cases (P=0.02). miR-145 expression in huge tumor (>10 cm)was significantly lower than that in the large tumor (5~10 cm) and small tumor (2~5 cm) (P=0.048).By Fletcher risk stratification system, miR-145 expression in high-risk cases was significantly lower than that in the intermediate-risk and low-risk cases (P=0.048). While the expression of miR-145 in low-risk group was significantly different compared to that in intermediate-risk group and high-risk group (P=0.01).There was no difference between the expressions of miR-143 in tumor and that in normal tissue(P=0.06).Conclusion In gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor, MiR-145 expression is significantly higher in tumor than adjacent normal tissues. miR-145 is closely associated with tumor size. mitotic counts and Fletcher risk stratification system.
