Objective To analyze the current status of occupational health literacy (OHL) among front-line workers in the metal products industry and to explore its influencing factors. Methods A total of 5 193 front-line workers from the metal products industry in 14 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province were selected as the research subjects by the stratified cluster random sampling method. The Occupational Health Literacy Questionnaire of National Key Populations was used to assess their OHL levels. To analyze the influencing factors of OHL, binary logistic regression analysis was conducted. Results The overall OHL level among the participants was 40.0% (2 079/5 193). The result of binary logistic regression analysis showed that workers with lower educational level, lower average monthly personal income, and smaller enterprise size had lower OHL levels (all P<0.01). In addition, workers in foreign-funded enterprises had higher OHL levels than those in private enterprises (P<0.01). Conclusion There remains considerable room for improvement in OHL among front-line workers in the metal products industry. Priority focus is to improve OHL among workers with lower education and income levels, as well as those employed in private and micro- or small-sized enterprises.

[Abstract] Objective: To investigate the expression of long non-coding RNA LINC01001 in breast cancer tissues and its effect on the proliferation of breast cancer MCF-7 cells. Methods: The expression levels of lncRNA LINC01001 were analyzed in 12 cases of cancer and para-cancer tissues from breast cancer patients, who underwent surgical resection in Affiliated People’s Hospital of Hubei University of Medicine from March 2016 to June 2017. The plasmid over-expressing LINC01001 was transfected into human breast cancer MCF-7 cells. The cell cycle distribution and proliferation ability of MCF-7 cells were detected by flow cytometry and MTT assay, respectively. The mRNA expressions of miR-485-5p and CDKN1A mRNA were detected by qRT-PCR, and the protein expressions of CDKN1A, CDK4, CDK6 and Cyclin D1 were detected by Western blotting. Results: The expression level of lncRNA LINC01001 in breast cancer tissues was lower than that in para-cancer tissues (P<0.01). LINC01001 recombinant plasmid transfection significantly inhibited cell cycle progression (P<0.05) and cell proliferation (P<0.05) of MCF-7 cells. qRT-PCR showed that the expression level of miR-485-5p was decreased (P<0.01) and the expression level of CDKN1A mRNA was increased (P<0.01) after over-expressing LINC01001. Western blot results confirmed that over-expression of LINC01001 could promote the expression of CDKN1A protein, but decrease the expressions of CDK4, CDK6 and Cyclin D1 proteins. Conclusion: The expression of LINC01001 in breast cancer tissues was decreased. LINC01001 may down-regulate the expression of miR-485-5p to up-regulate the expression of CDKN1A, and further to inhibit the proliferation of breast cancer MCF-7 cells, providing experimental basis for the clinical application of lncRNA.

Objective To explore the effect of early intervention on patients with severe illness deterioration induced multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS). Methods 184 severe patients were randomly divided into conventional treatment and intervention groups(each,92 cases). Active treatment of primary disease and symptomatic treatment were given to the patients in the control group, and based on the treatment of the above group, low dose heparin was additionally given to the observation group for anticoagulation to change hemorheology. Before and after treatment for 1 week, life signs, blood routine test, blood biochemistry, blood coagulation index,D-dimer, hemorheology, blood gas analysis and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ(APACHEⅡ)score were observed in two groups to judge the overall changes of disease situation. The length of stay in intensive care unit(ICU), the incidence of MODS and mortality after 1 week treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The levels of platelet count(PLT),fibrinogen(Fib),D-dimer,whole blood high shear viscosity, whole blood low shear viscosity, plasma viscosity, white blood cell count(WBC),arterial blood lactate(Lac),alanine aminotransferase (ALT),serum creatinine(SCr),APACHE Ⅱ score in two groups after the treatment were decreased significantly, while oxygenation index(PaO2/FiO2),mean arterial pressure(MAP)were increased significantly, and the observation group improvement was better than that of the control group〔PLT(×109/L):180.74±85.59 vs. 214.33±78.68,Fib (g/L):3.15±0.83 vs. 3.22±1.89,D-dimer(g/L):0.35±0.17 vs. 0.72±0.25,whole blood high shear viscosity (mPa · s):5.54±2.26 vs. 6.73±2.48,whole blood low shear viscosity(mPa · s):8.56±2.12 vs . 11.76±3.45,plasma viscosity(mPa · s):1.35±0.24 vs. 1.82±0.50,WBC(×109/L):10.75±5.53 vs. 14.34±8.66,PaO2/FiO2(mmHg, 1 mmHg=0.133 kPa):288.52±85.34 vs. 216.34±97.72, MAP(mmHg):99.52±20.85 vs. 90.73±21.86, Lac (mmol/L):2.72±1.08 vs. 4.46±2.87, ALT (U/L):89.73±22.45 vs. 125.23±77.48, SCr (μmol/L):110.19±35.26 vs. 140.23±68.96,APACHEⅡscore:13.29±3.74 vs. 18.45±3.52,all P<0.05〕;in the control group, the activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT)after treatment was decreased significantly(s:40.76±9.89 vs. 42.39±12.47),while in the observation group,increased(57.50±7.12 vs. 41.74±13.62). Compared with the control group, the length of stay in ICU was shortered(days:4.1±1.5 vs. 4.6±2.3,P<0.05),the incidence of MODS (22.8% vs. 46.7%,P<0.05)and mortality(6.5% vs. 14.1%,P<0.05)were reduced significantly in observation group. Objective To evaluate the efficacy of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and percutaneous cryosurgery sequential therapy for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods Four hundred and twenty patients with unresectable HCC were divided into sequential TACE-cryosurgery sequential (sequential) group (n=290) and cryosurgery alone (cryoalone) group (n = 130). TACE was performed with the routine operation; the percutaneous cryosurgery was conducted 2 to 4 weeks after TACE. The patients were followed up at the first month and once every 2 to 3 month later. Liver ultrasound or both computer tomography and alpha fetal protein were examined during follow-up. Results During a mean follow-up of (42±17) months (range from 24 to 70 months), the local recurrence rate of ablated lesion was 17% for all the patients, 11% and 24% for patients in sequential group and cryoalone groups respectively (P=0. 001). The overall 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-and 5-year survival rate was 72%, 57%, 47%, 39% and 31%, respectively. The 1- and 2-year survival rates (71% and 61 % ) in sequential group were similar to those (73 % and 54 % ) in cryo-alone group (P=0.69 and 0. 147), while the 4- and 5-year survival rates were higher in sequential group (49 % and 39 % ) than those (29 % and 23 % ) in cryo-alone group (P= 0.001). Eighteen patients with large HCC (>5 cm in diameter) in sequential group survived for more than 5 years while no one in cryo-alone group. Complication rate was 24% in all patients, 21% and 26% for the sequential and cryo-alone groups respectively (P=0. 06). The incidence of hepatic bleeding was higher in cryo-alone group than in sequential group (P=0. 02). Liver crack occurred in two patients of the cryoalone group. Conclusions Pre-cryosurgical TACE increased the cryoablation efficacy and decrease its complications, especially hepatic bleeding. TACE and cryosurgery sequential therapy may be a better treatment for unresectable HCC, especially for large HCC.

Objective To investigate the effects of component combination in Siwu Decoction (CCSWD) on the proliferation of human bone marrow stromal cell lines HFCL and hematopoiesis-related gene expression and to probe into the mechanism of the stimulative effects of SWD and CCSWD on the proliferation of HFCL cells. Methods MTT and FCM were used for assaying the proliferation potency and cell cycle of HFCL cells, respectively. A human hematopoiesis-related cytokine oligonuleotide microarray was prepared to investigate the diversity of gene expression of HFCL cells in SWD and CCSWD groups. Results The energy metabolism and proliferation potency of HFCL cells treated with CCSWD were more prompted than that of the control group. Meanwhile, the percentage of HFCL cells in G 0/G 1 phase treated with CCSWD was significantly lower, while the proliferation index (PI) was higher than that of the control group. Compared to the control group, expressions of IL 2-R?, NF-?B, and TPO were up-regulated in CCSWD group. Conclusion The proliferation of HFCL cells could be facilitated by CCSWD with up-regulating the expressions of IL 2-R?, NF-?B, and TPO.
