AIM To study the comprehensive quality of Epimedii Folium from different botanical origins, and to provide a basis for its quality assessment to ensure its further development and utilization.METHODS The analysis was performed on a 30℃ thermostatic Agilent ZORBAX SB-C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm,5μm),with the mobile phase comprising of acetonitrile-0.1% phosphate flowing at 1 mL/min in a gradient elution manner, and the detection wavelength was set at 270 nm.With regard to the established HPLC fingerprints, the twenty-nine batches of samples achieved their chemical pattern recognition by using cluster analysis, principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis.RESULTS Among the twelve common peaks in the fingerprint of twenty-nine batches of samples, five were identified, sharing a similarity within the range of 0.235-0.999.Displaying significant content differences in epimedin A,epimedin B,epimedin C,icariin, and pogostemin I.Each batch of E.Folium of different origins categorized into 4 types was observed with peak 3,epimedin B,epimedin C,and icariin as the main components.CONCLUSION This method of strong specificity, stability and reliability can be applicable in the quick identification of E.Folium from different botanical origins and its quality assessment.

Objective: To analyze the survival and influencing factors of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy in relapsed/refractory acute B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia (R/R B-ALL) . Methods: Clinical information of patients who received CAR-T-cell therapy and achieved complete remission of R/R B-ALL between May 2015 and June 2018 at the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital was obtained. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to evaluate the overall survival (OS) and leukemia-free survival (LFS) times of patients, and Cox regression analysis was performed to analyze the prognostic factors that affect patient survival after CAR-T therapy. Results: Among the 38 patients with R/R B-ALL, 21 were men, with a median age of 25 (6-59) years and a median OS time of 18 (95% CI 3-33) months. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that positive MLL-AF4 fusion gene expression was an independent risk factor for OS and LFS (OS: HR=4.888, 95% CI 1.375-17.374, P=0.014; LFS: HR=6.683, 95% CI 1.815-24.608, P=0.004). Maintenance therapy was a protective factor for OS and LFS (OS: HR=0.153, 95% CI 0.054-0.432, P<0.001; LFS: HR=0.138, 95% CI 0.050-0.382, P<0.001). In patients with MRD negative conversion, LFS benefit (HR=0.209, 95% CI 0.055-0.797, P=0.022) and OS difference was statistically insignificant (P=0.111). Moreover, patients with high tumor burden were risk factors for OS and LFS at the level of 0.1 (OS: HR=2.662, 95% CI 0.987-7.184, P=0.053; LFS: HR=2.452, 95% CI 0.949-6.339, P=0.064) . Conclusion: High tumor burden and high-risk genetics may affect the long-term survival rate of patients with R/R B-ALL receiving CAR-T, and lenalidomide-based maintenance therapy may improve their prognosis.

OBJECTIVETo examine the trend in meat consumption patterns between 1991 and 2011 in Chinese children in nine provinces(autonomous region) aged 6 to 17 years.
METHODSA multistage, random cluster sampling process was used to investigate 2720, 2702, 2525, 2405, 1509, 1238, 1085, and 936 children and adolescents aged 6-17 years in 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2011 respectively in 9 provinces (autonomous region) in China. Their consecutive 3 d 24 h dietary recall data were analyzed to compare meat intake pattern in children and adolescents with different characteristics and different years.
RESULTSThe consumption rate increased from 60.9% (1657/2720) in 1991 to 87.2% (816/936) in 2011 for livestock meat (χ(2) = 458.23, P < 0.01), from 9.4% (257/2720) to 33.3% (312/936) for poultry (χ(2) = 446.07, P < 0.01) and from 27.3% (743/2720) to 40.6% (380/936) for seafood (χ(2) = 89.89, P < 0.01). The median of total meat intake increased from 47.4 g/d in 1991 to 100.0 g/d in 2011 (χ(2) = 516.77, P < 0.01), poultry intake from 33.3 g/d to 60.0 g/d (χ(2) = 420.13, P < 0.01), pork intake from 26.7 g/d to 50.0 g/d (χ(2) = 380.50, P < 0.01). The percentage of children whose livestock meat and poultry intakes higher than the recommended amount increased from 32.9% (896/2720) in 1991 to 59.8% (560/936) in 2011 (χ(2) = 392.97, P < 0.01); the percentage of children whose seafood intakes meeting the recommended amount increased from 6.9% (187/2720) in 1991 to 8.8% (82/936) in 2011 (χ(2) = 21.52, P < 0.01). The consumption rates of livestock meat in urban and rural children increased from 81.2% (536/660) and 54.4% (1121/2060) in 1991 to 94.7% (234/247) (χ(2) = 38.34, P < 0.01) and 84.5% (582/689) (χ(2) = 429.26, P < 0.01) in 2011. The intakes of livestock meat in rural children increased from 16.7 g/d in 1991 to 56.7 g/d in 2011 (χ(2) = 472.46, P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe overall pattern of meat consumption in Chinese children in nine provinces(autonomous region) was unreasonable between 1991 and 2011. There was a significant improvement in meat consumption in rural children over time.

Objective To determine the survival rate of HIV/AIDS patients after receiving free antiretroviral treatment in Dehong prefecture, Yunnan province. Methods A retrospective cohort analysis was conducted on all the HIV/AIDS patients aged over 16 years who had started antiretroviral treatment during January 2007 throughout December 2009 in Dehong prefecture. Results A total of 3103 HIV/AIDS patients had received antiretroviral treatment during the study period. Among them, the mean age was (36.0 ± 9.9) years and 62.4% were males. 66.2% of them were infected with HIV through heterosexual transmission, and the mean treatment follow-up time was 21.7 months. Most patients well complied with the treatment, i.e., the average times of not taking the medicine were less than 5 per month. The cumulative survival rate of antiretroviral treatment after 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years were 0.95, 0.94, 0.93, 0.92, and 0.92, respectively. Data from the Cox proportional hazard regression model analysis indicated that, after adjustment for age, gender, and marital status, the baseline CD4+T cell counts and transmission route could significantly predicate the rates of survival. Those who were with baseline CD4+T cell counts as 200-350/mm3 were less likely to die of AIDS than those with CD4+T cell counts <200/mm3 (Hazard Ratio or HR=0.16, 95%CI:0.09-0.28), and HIV-infected through mother-to-child transmission or routes other than heterosexual transmission were less likely to die of AIDS than through injecting drug use (HR=0.35, 95% CI:0.13-1.00). Conclusion Free antiretroviral treatment had significantly improved the survival of HIV/AIDS patients. Earlier initiation of antiretroviral treatment was likely to have achieved better survival effects.
