Objective:To analyze the efficacy and safety of standard chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors (CI) combined with radiotherapy (RT) in driver-gene negative (wild-type) oligometastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with central nervous system involvement. Methods:In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, oligometastatic NSCLC patients receiving first-line chemo-immunotherapy-based therapy were analyzed. Between January 2017 and January 2023, a total of 98 eligible patients were enrolled from the National Cancer Center/Cancer Hospital (Beijing/Shenzhen) and Shanxi Province Cancer Hospital. All participants were divided into chemo-immunotherapy (CI) group (28.6%, n=28) and chemo-immuno-radiotherapy (CIR) group (71.4%, n=70) according to whether receiving radiotherapy. Baseline characteristics were well-balanced between two groups, with no statistically significant differences (all P>0.05). The primary endpoint of the study was overall survival (OS), while progression-free survival (PFS) was designated as a key secondary endpoint. Qualitative data were compared by Chi-square test. Survival analysis was conducted using Kaplan-Meier method, and prognostic analysis was performed by multivariate Cox regression models. Results:The median PFS in the CIR and CI groups was 21.8 and 11.5 months, respectively, and the difference was not statistically significant ( P=0.211). The median OS in the CIR group was significantly better ( P=0.036) than 25.3 months in the CI group. The median OS in the CIR group was not reached. The 2-year local regional control rates for the whole brain radiotherapy patients, stereotactic radiotherapy / stereotactic radiosurgery patients and CI groups were 33.3% ,100% and 83.4%, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that brain radiotherapy was an independent protective factor for OS in patients with oligometastatic brain metastases at baseline ( HR=0.47, 95% CI=0.22-0.99, P=0.047). Subgroup analysis revealed that patients with 1-3 metastatic lesions benefited from radiotherapy (PFS: HR=0.47, 95% CI=0.22-1.03, P=0.060; OS: HR=0.34, 95% CI=0.12-0.98, P=0.046). Conclusions:For central nervous system involved oligometastatic NSCLC patients, the integration of chemo-immunotherapy with radiotherapy is well tolerated and can improve the efficacy, particularly among those with a limited number of metastatic lesions.

This study aims to explore the mechanism of "simultaneous treatment of the brain and the heart" of Naoxintong Capsules(NXT) under cerebral ischemia based on Toll-like receptor(TLR) signaling pathway.Male SD rats were randomized into sham operation group, model group, NXT group, and positive drug group.Middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) model rats were used in model group, NXT group, and positive drug group, respectively.Neurological function was scored with the Bederson scale, and brain infarct rate was measured by 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) staining.Brain edema was detected with wet-dry weight method.Hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining and TdT-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL) staining were used to observe and count apoptotic cardiocytes. In addition, serum myocardial enzymes were measured. The expression of 8 TLR signaling pathway-related proteins interferon-α(IFN-α), interferon regulatory factor-3(IRF3), interferon regulatory factor-7(IRF7), TLR2, TLR4, TLR7, TLR9, and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in the cerebral cortex and heart of rats was detected by Western blot. Brain infarct rate, neurological function score, and brain water content in NXT group decreased significantly compared with those in the model group. At the same time, the reduction in apoptosis rate of cardiocytes and the content of serum aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), creatine kinase(CK), and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) were decreased in the NXT group.Systems pharmacological results and previous research showed that TLR signaling pathway played an important role in immune inflammatory response. The study of TLR signaling pathway and related proteins is helpful to elucidate the mechanism of "simultaneous treatment of the brain and the heart". Western blot results showed that NXT significantly inhibited the expression of IRF3, IRF7, TLR2, TLR7, and TNF-α in cerebral cortex and heart under cerebral ischemia.Cerebral ischemia influences cardiac functions, and TLR signaling pathway is one of the pathways for "simultaneous treatment of the brain and the heart" of NXT.

OBJECTIVES:
To investigate the incidence of extrauterine growth retardation (EUGR) and its risk factors in very preterm infants (VPIs) during hospitalization in China.
METHODS:
A prospective multicenter study was performed on the medical data of 2 514 VPIs who were hospitalized in the department of neonatology in 28 hospitals from 7 areas of China between September 2019 and December 2020. According to the presence or absence of EUGR based on the evaluation of body weight at the corrected gestational age of 36 weeks or at discharge, the VPIs were classified to two groups: EUGR group (n=1 189) and non-EUGR (n=1 325). The clinical features were compared between the two groups, and the incidence of EUGR and risk factors for EUGR were examined.
RESULTS:
The incidence of EUGR was 47.30% (1 189/2 514) evaluated by weight. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that higher weight growth velocity after regaining birth weight and higher cumulative calorie intake during the first week of hospitalization were protective factors against EUGR (P<0.05), while small-for-gestational-age birth, prolonged time to the initiation of total enteral feeding, prolonged cumulative fasting time, lower breast milk intake before starting human milk fortifiers, prolonged time to the initiation of full fortified feeding, and moderate-to-severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia were risk factors for EUGR (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
It is crucial to reduce the incidence of EUGR by achieving total enteral feeding as early as possible, strengthening breastfeeding, increasing calorie intake in the first week after birth, improving the velocity of weight gain, and preventing moderate-severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia in VPIs.

Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control 2021;33(1):74-78
The mixed teaching model combines the advantages of traditional teaching and network teaching in the “Internet +” era, which has become one of the important trends in the higher education teaching development. In order to follow this development trend, the human parasitology teaching team makes a reasonable use of modern information techniques, actively promotes the construction and application of online resources, and conducts mixed online and offline teaching based on MOOC resources and the experimental teaching digital platform. This mixed teaching model has shown a positive impact on both teaching and learning among teachers and students; however, students’ personalized independent and deep learning remains unsatisfactory. It is suggested that the online course resources construction, teaching design and digital literacy remain to be increased, so as to create a high-level, innovative and challenging online-offline mixed “golden course”

A fast and sensitive UPLC-MS/MS method was established for the direct quantification of insulin aspart in human plasma. The plasma samples were extracted by solid phase extraction (SPE), an ESI ion source was used and operated in the positive ion mode with multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). Bovine insulin was chosen as internal standard and the chromatographic separation of insulin aspart was performed on Waters ACQUITY UPLC CSH C18 column (50 mm×2.1 mm, 1.7 μm). A mixture of acetic acid aqueous solution and acetonitrile with acetic acid at a flow rate of 0.6 mL·min-1 in gradient elution mode was employed as mobile phase. We found that the method was validated over the range of 0.200-10.0 ng·mL-1 for insulin aspart and showed excellent linearity. The intra-and inter-assay accuracy and precision were below 14.5% and the recovery was 36.7%-41.7% over the three concentration levels evaluated. The UPLC-MS/MS method was selective, accurate, sensitive and robust, and the method was successfully applied in supporting the pharmacokinetic research of two insulin aspart injections (Test Product and NovoRapid®) in heathy male subjects. This clinical trial was approved according to the Ethics Committee of West China Hospital, Sichuan University (2017 Clinical Trial (Western Medicine) Approval (148)).

Objective:
The relationship between serum uric acid (SUA) levels and glycemic indices, including plasma glucose (FPG), 2-hour postload glucose (2h-PG), and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), remains inconclusive. We aimed to explore the associations between glycemic indices and SUA levels in the general Chinese population.
Methods:
The current study was a cross-sectional analysis using the first follow-up survey data from The China Cardiometabolic Disease and Cancer Cohort Study. A total of 105,922 community-dwelling adults aged ≥ 40 years underwent the oral glucose tolerance test and uric acid assessment. The nonlinear relationships between glycemic indices and SUA levels were explored using generalized additive models.
Results:
A total of 30,941 men and 62,361 women were eligible for the current analysis. Generalized additive models verified the inverted U-shaped association between glycemic indices and SUA levels, but with different inflection points in men and women. The thresholds for FPG, 2h-PG, and HbA1c for men and women were 6.5/8.0 mmol/L, 11.0/14.0 mmol/L, and 6.1/6.5, respectively (SUA levels increased with increasing glycemic indices before the inflection points and then eventually decreased with further increases in the glycemic indices).
Conclusion
An inverted U-shaped association was observed between major glycemic indices and uric acid levels in both sexes, while the inflection points were reached earlier in men than in women.
