Objective To systematically evaluate the radiation impact of radioactive sources used in online elemental analyzers in cement enterprises on the surrounding environment, and to provide a scientific basis for radiation monitoring and safety management at the application sites of this type of radioactive sources. Methods A statistical analysis was conducted on 15 cement enterprises in Guangxi Province using online elemental analyzers with 252Cf as the radioactive source. On-site investigation of radiation safety management and on-site monitoring of radiation environment were performed, followed by an evaluation based on the collected data. Results Although the gamma radiation ambient dose equivalent rate and neutron ambient dose equivalent rate increased around the sites using online elemental analyzers with 252Cf as the radioactive source, they all met the requirements of the Radiological Health Protection Requirements for Instruments with Sealed Sources (GBZ 125—2009). Conclusion Under the current usage and management conditions, the application of this type of radioactive sources has controllable radiation impact on the surrounding environment, and will not pose a threat to public health and environmental safety. However, continuous strengthening of radiation safety management measures and regular radiation monitoring work are still needed to ensure the safe use of radioactive sources, further reducing potential radiation risks and providing strong guarantees for the safe application of radioactive sources in online elemental analyzers in cement enterprises.

Functional dyspepsia (FD), characterized by persistent or recurrent dyspeptic symptoms without identifiable organic, systemic or metabolic causes, is an increasingly recognized global health issue. The objective of this guideline is to equip clinicians and nursing professionals with evidence-based strategies for the management and treatment of adult patients with FD using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The Guideline Development Group consulted existing TCM consensus documents on FD and convened a panel of 35 clinicians to generate initial clinical queries. To address these queries, a systematic literature search was conducted across PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIP Database, China Biology Medicine (SinoMed) Database, Wanfang Database, Traditional Medicine Research Data Expanded (TMRDE), and the Traditional Chinese Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System (TCMLARS). The evidence from the literature was critically appraised using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. The strength of the recommendations was ascertained through a consensus-building process involving TCM and allopathic medicine experts, methodologists, pharmacologists, nursing specialists, and health economists, leveraging their collective expertise and empirical knowledge. The guideline comprises a total of 43 evidence-informed recommendations that span a range of clinical aspects, including the pathogenesis according to TCM, diagnostic approaches, therapeutic interventions, efficacy assessments, and prognostic considerations. OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the association between ABO blood types and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) risk.
METHODS:
A prospective birth cohort study was conducted. ABO blood types were determined using the slide method. GDM diagnosis was based on a 75-g, 2-h oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) according to the criteria of the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups. Logistic regression was applied to calculate the odds ratios ( ORs) and 95% confidence intervals ( CIs) between ABO blood types and GDM risk.
RESULTS:
A total of 30,740 pregnant women with a mean age of 31.81 years were enrolled in this study. The ABO blood types distribution was: type O (30.99%), type A (26.58%), type B (32.20%), and type AB (10.23%). GDM was identified in 14.44% of participants. Using blood type O as a reference, GDM risk was not significantly higher for types A ( OR = 1.05) or B ( OR = 1.04). However, women with type AB had a 19% increased risk of GDM ( OR = 1.19, 95% CI = 1.05-1.34; P < 0.05), even after adjusting for various factors. This increased risk for type AB was consistent across subgroup and sensitivity analyses.
CONCLUSION
The ABO blood types may influence GDM risk, with type AB associated with a higher risk. Incorporating it-either as a single risk factor or in combination with other known factors-could help identify individuals at risk for GDM before or during early pregnancy.

Combined seawater Hf and Nd isotope compositions have been applied as reliable tracers of water mass mixing and weathering input changes. The establishment of standardized synchronous extraction methods for Fe-Mn oxyhydroxide in sediments, which serve as effective carriers for isotopic signals of ancient seawater,is a prerequisite and key for paleoceanography research. The research material of this study was the surface sediments of the Western Arctic Ocean obtained from China's 7th Arctic Scientific Expedition, and a reliable simultaneous Nd-Hf isotope extraction method in Fe-Mn oxyhydroxide fraction was established through systematic optimization of pretreatment procedures and key extraction parameters. This research focused on analyzing the effects of pretreatment(Milli-Q water pre-wash)and key extraction parameters(leaching time,solution/solid ratios, concentration of EDTA-2Na,and concentration of mixed solution of hydroxyamine hydrochloride(HH)and acetic acid(HAc))on element extraction efficiency and isotopic composition. The experimental results indicated that the Milli-Q water pre-wash was not necessary,Fe-Mn oxyhydroxide extraction could be directly performed.Nd extraction amount in Fe-Mn oxyhydroxide fraction was not sensitive to changes in extraction conditions, while the Hf extraction amount was significantly affected by leaching time,solution/solid ratios and concentration of EDTA-2Na.The optimal conditions for synchronously extracting Nd-Hf isotopes were as follows:adding 20 mL of a mixed solution of 0.005 mol/L HH+1.5%HAc+0.03 mol/L EDTA-2Na per gram of sample, and reaction at room temperature for 3 h under shaking.Through systematic verification of 87Sr/86Sr ratio,εNd value,εHf value,Al/Nd ratio and Al/Hf ratio,it was confirmed that this method could effectively avoid interferences from residual components and accurately obtain Nd-Hf isotope signals of ancient seawater preserved in sediments. The standardized method established in this work provided reliable technical support for reconstructing water mass mixing between the Arctic,North Atlantic, and North Pacific Oceans and riverine input histories. It also provided important reference for the extraction methods of Nd and Hf isotopes from marine sources in sediments from other sea areas around the world.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2025;41(2):120-126
Doxorubicin is a commonly used antitumor drug for the treatment of various cancers.How-ever,its clinical application is greatly restricted by its severe cardiotoxicity. At present,doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity is categorized into acute and chronic forms, depending on the dosage and dura-tion of exposure, which may eventually lead to the occurrence of heart failure. The pathogenesis of doxorubicin cardiotoxicity is associated with oxidative stress, mitochondrial damage, calcium overload, dysregulation of autophagy, and apoptosis. In forensic medical practice, cases of poisoning or even car-diac death caused by doxorubicin showed no obvious changes in cardiac morphology through routine forensic pathological examinations. The paper aims to summarize the research on the mechanisms of action of doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in recent years, analyze and discuss the possible pathways of cardiomyocyte injury caused by doxorubicin, and provide references for research on the mechanisms of doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity and forensic application.

Objective To report the diagnosis, treatment, and verification process of a patient with sex development disorder whose chromosomal karyotype and genetic test results are inconsistent, and conduct a literature review to improve the understanding of the mosaic status of sexual development disorders. Methods A 14-year-old patient presented with primary amenorrhea on April 3,2020,at the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University, exhibiting female sexual characteristics. The patient underwent ultrasonic/magnetic resonance imaging of gonads, assessment of gonadal axis function, chromosomal karyotype, and molecular genetic testing,as well as pelvic exploration, malignant gonads resection, and hormone replacement therapy, resulting in drug-induced menstruation.During the diagnosis and treatment,it was found that the patient's chromosomal karyotype analysis was inconsistent with the molecular genetic test results.Subsequently, samples from the three germ layer cells were taken, and fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)was used to detect the sex chromosomes in each germ layer cell.XY probes were used to label the gonadal pathological sections to explore the distribution differences of the Y chromosome in the gonads, and changes in anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH)levels before and after surgery were compared.Databases such as Wanfang and PubMed were searched to summarize relevant cohort study literature and understand the current status of research on this disease. Results The patient's body exhibited a significant differences between the 45,X and 46,XY cell lines in different germ layers and within the same layer tissues. The proportion of 45,X in buccal mucosal cells derived from the ectoderm was 30%(6/20),in peripheral blood lymphocytes derived from the mesoderm was 9.7%(11/114),and in bladder shed cells derived from endoderm was 20.4%(22/108).The gonadal pathological sections labeled with XY probes indicated a mosaic state with a reduced Y-chromosome;where the epididymal structure area had a 45,X cell line mosaic of 50.0%,and the malignant area had a normal"Y"content. After gonadal resection,AMH levels significantly dropped from 7.28 pmol/L to<0.07 pmol/L.Literature review revealed that patients with 45,X/46,XY have a complex phenotype spectrum, most with features of Turner syndrome, and female phenotypes are at risk of gonadal tumors. Conclusions In the diagnosis of difficult cases of sex development disorders, when performing peripheral blood karyotype testing, the number of counted cells and analyzed cells should be increased as much as possible, and multi-germ layer cell sampling should be performed.Gonads with a high"Y"mosaic rate are more prone to malignancy in the abdominal cavity.Detecting AMH levels can distinguish cryptorchidism and anorchidism in sexual development disorders with Y chromosomes.
