OBJECTIVES:
To investigate the correlation between bone mineral density (BMD) and bone metabolic markers in preschool children and the influencing factors for BMD, and to provide a clinical basis for promoting bone health in children.
METHODS:
A retrospective analysis was performed for the data of 127 preschool children who underwent physical examination in the Department of Child Health Care of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, from June to December 2024. BMD and bone metabolic markers were measured, and physical examination was performed. A multiple linear regression analysis was used to investigate the effect of general information on BMD Z-score in preschool children. Spearman's rank correlation test was used to investigate the correlation of BMD Z-score with 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-OHD), serum bone Gla protein (BGP), and parathyroid hormone (PTH).
RESULTS:
BMD Z-score significantly differed by ethnicity, weight category, and height category (all P<0.05). The multiple linear regression analysis indicated that weight and height significantly influenced BMD Z-score (P<0.05), whereas sex, age, ethnicity, and parental education level did not (P>0.05). In children, BMD Z-score was positively correlated with 25-OHD level (rs=0.260, P<0.001) and BGP level (rs=0.075, P=0.025) and was negatively correlated with PTH level (rs=-0.043, P=0.032).
CONCLUSIONS
Weight, height, 25-OHD, BGP, and PTH are influencing factors for BMD in preschool children. In clinical practice, combined measurement of bone metabolic markers may provide a scientific basis for early identification of children with abnormal BMD and prevention of osteoporosis and osteomalacia.

Chinese Journal of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2017;52(5):355-360
Objective:
To investigate the aeroallergen spectrum in allergic rhinitis in Xinjiang area and analyze its relating factors.
Methods:
Skin prick test was carried out in 480 cases with allergic rhinitis using 20 inhaled allergens. The major change in recent years with allergic rhinitis and allergen distribution was compared.SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the data.
Results:
Among 480 cases, 406 showed positive reaction. The most common allergens found in patients were chenopodium (61.6%) and mugwort (44.1%), followed by willow(37.7%), maple(37.7%), poplar(30.3%), house dust mite(30.3%), plantain(29.8%), acacia(25.9%), dust mite maple(25.4%), and so on. The rate of positive reaction to only one allergen was 9.6%, of which 21 were mite allergens. The positiverate to allergensin male and female were 84.2% and 85.1%, the distribution of allergens in both sexes did not differ(χ2=0.001,

Objective To get the situation with the Uygur students of hepatitis B virus marker in south Xinjiang , provide basis for physical examination system. Methods 398 blood samples of pupils in the southern region of Xinjiang were collected , 5 serological markers of hepatitis were detected with ELISA. Results The HBsAg positive rate was 1.26% ( 5/398 ) of the samples from the pupils in the southern region of Xinjiang, HBsAb positive rate was 50.47% ( 201/398 ) .There was no significance difference between male and female for the HBsAg and HBsAb positive rate (P>0.05).Conclusions The infection rate of HBV is relatively low among pupils in the southern region of Xinjiang, HBsAg positive rate is lower than the national average level, so the prevention of HBV infection should be enhanced there.
