Objective To investigate the population density and seasonal fluctuations of Aedes albopictus in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, from 2021 to 2023, so as to provide insights into A. albopictus control and management of dengue fever. Methods The surveillance of A. albopictus density was performed in all surveillance sites assigned across all streets (townships) in Guangzhou City during the period from January to December from 2021 to 2023. The surveillance frequency was twice every half month from May to September, and once every month for the rest of a year. In each surveillance period, A. albopictus mosquito larvae were captured from indoor and outdoor small water containers in residential areas, parks, medical facilities, schools, other government sectors and social organizations, construction sites, special industries and others for mosquito species identification. Adult mosquitoes were captured using electric mosquito suction apparatus for species identification and gender classification. Adult mosquitoes and mosquito eggs were collected with mosquito and egg traps at the breeding and dwelling places of Aedes mosquitoes for identification. The mosquito oviposition index (MOI), Breteau index (BI), adult mosquito density index (ADI) and standard space index (SSI) were calculated. The A. albopictus density was classified into grades 0, 1, 2 and 3 in each surveillance site, with Grade 0 density defined eligible, and the eligible rate of A. albopictus density was calculated at all surveillance sites each year from 2021 to 2023. In addition, the changing trends in MOI, SSI, BI and ADI of A. albopictus were analyzed in Guangzhou City from 2021 to 2023. Results The eligible rates of A. albopictus density were 61.69%, 68.75% and 55.15% in surveillance sites of Guangzhou City from 2021 to 2023 (χ2 = 297.712, P < 0.001), and appeared a tendency towards a reduction followed by a rise each year, which gradually reduced since January, maintained at a low level during the period between May and October, and gradually increased from November to December. The MOI, SSI, BI and ADI of A. albopictus all appeared a tendency towards a rise followed by a reduction in Guangzhou City during the period between January and December from 2021 to 2023. The BI of A. albopictus peaked in the first half of June in 2021 (4.03), the first half of July in 2022 (3.89) and the last half of August in 2023 (5.02), and the SSI of A. albopictus peaked in the last half of June in 2021 (0.93), the last half of May in 2022 (0.59), and the last half of June (0.94) and the first half of September in 2023 (1.12). In addition, the MOI of A. albopictus peaked in the first half of May in 2021 (8.64), the first half of June in 2022 (8.96), and the last half of May (10.21) and the last half of June in 2023 (10.89), and the ADI of A. albopictus peaked in the first half of June in 2021 (3.41), the last half of June in 2022 (4.06), and the first half of July in 2023 (3.61). Conclusions The density of A. albopictus is high in Guangzhou City during the period from May to October, and the risk of local outbreak caused by imported dengue fever is high. Persistent intensified surveillance of the density and seasonal fluctuation of A. albopictus is recommended and timely mosquito prevention and control is required according to the fluctuation in the A. albopictus density.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2024;28(2):272-279
BACKGROUND:In recent years, with the improvement of living standards,non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has a gradually increasing trend.miRNA-122 is one of the most abundant microRNAs in the liver, which plays an important role in maintaining the environmental stability and differentiation of the liver.Exercise training is a non-drug treatment for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which may improve liver lipid metabolism by regulating the expression of miRNA-122. OBJECTIVE:To review the effects of miRNA-122 on the pathological factors related to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease as well as the effects of exercise on the expression of miRNA-122 and the occurrence and development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. METHODS:The first author searched the databases of CNKI,WanFang,VIP,PubMed,Geenmedical,EBSCO,Medline,Web of Science, and Elsevier using"non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,microRNA,microRNA-122,lipid metabolism, inflammatory response, insulin resistance, exercise, physical exercise, exercise training"as the English and Chinese search terms for all relevant literature published before June 5,2022.All included documents were screened, summarized, and analyzed.Finally,68 documents were included for review. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the healthy control group, the expression of circulating miRNA-122 is increased in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The level of miRNA-122 may show different expression levels at different stages of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.miRNA-122 can regulate the expression of downstream-related proteins, influence lipid metabolism, inflammatory response, insulin resistance and other pathogenic factors in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by targeting base complementary pairing sites on mRNA or directly acting as physiological ligands of some RNA receptors.Different exercise modes can improve non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Therefore, patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease need to complete at least 120 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every week to have a positive effect. For patients who can tolerate various exercises, priority should be given to the combination of aerobic and resistance exercises 4-5 times a week. The exercise intensity should be 50%-70%of the maximum heart rate and the exercise should last for>3 months. For patients with poor tolerance, resistance exercise may be more feasible than aerobic exercise. In addition, patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can also choose proper exercise modes according to their own disease conditions(such as liver enzymes and lipid levels).Exercise can be used as a feasible strategy to prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, reduce liver steatosis, and alleviate liver inflammatory response and insulin resistance.Exercise training can regulate the expression of miRNA-122,but in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, the effect of exercise on miRNA-122 and its related signal pathways remains to be studied.

OBJECTIVE
To compare the cost-utility of eight programmed death 1(PD-1)/programmed cell death-ligand 1(PD-L1) inhibitor combination regimens for first-line treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) from the perspective of Chinese healthcare system.
METHODS
Relevant data were derived from a published network meta-analysis and randomized controlled trails, a three-state Markov model was established to analyze the cost-utility of eight immunotherapy combinations. The robustness of results were validated through sensitivity analyses and a series of scenario analyses was also conducted.
RESULTS
The incremental cost-utility ratio(ICUR) of the sintilizumab plus chemotherapy group and the tislelizumab plus chemotherapy group were ¥125143.88/quality adjusted life year(QALY) and ¥189609.64/QALY, respectively, which were less than the willingness-to-pay(WTP) threshold of ¥257094/QALY, and all the ICURs of other PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor combination regimens exceeded the WTP threshold and were not economical. Scenario analyses found that even if the medical insurance reimbursement ratio reached 80%, the different combinations of pembrolizumab, nivolumab and atezolizumab were not economical.
CONCLUSION
Compared with other PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor combination regimens, sintilizumab plus chemotherapy and tislelizumab plus chemotherapy have cost-utility advantages in the first-line treatment of advanced NSCLC, which can provide a certain reference for selecting a reasonable treatment plan for NSCLC patients.

Excessive N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine(NAPQI)formation is a starting event that triggers oxidative stress and subsequent hepatocyte necrosis in acetaminophen(APAP)overdose caused acute liver failure(ALF).S-glutathionylation is a reversible redox post-translational modification and a prospective mechanism of APAP hepatotoxicity.Glutaredoxin-1(Glrx1),a glutathione-specific thioltransferase,is a primary enzyme to catalyze deglutathionylation. The objective of this study was to explored whether and how Glrx1 is associated with the development of ALF induced by APAP.The Glrx1 knockout mice(Glrx1-/-)and liver-specific overexpression of Glrx1(AAV8-Glrx1)mice were produced and underwent APAP-induced ALF.Pirfenidone(PFD),a potential inducer of Glrx1,was administrated preceding APAP to assess its protective effects. Our results revealed that the hepatic total protein S-glutathionylation(PSSG)increased and the Glrx1 level reduced in mice after APAP toxicity.Glrx1-/- mice were more sensitive to APAP overdose, with higher oxidative stress and more toxic metabolites of APAP.This was attributed to Glrx1 deficiency increasing the total hepatic PSSG and the S-glutathionylation of cytochrome p450 3a 11(Cyp3a11),which likely increased the activity of Cyp3a11.Conversely,AAV8-Glrx1 mice were defended against liver damage caused by APAP overdose by inhibiting the S-glutathionylation and activity of Cyp3a11,which reduced the toxic metabolites of APAP and oxidative stress.PFD precede administration upregulated Glrx1 expression and alleviated APAP-induced ALF by decreasing oxidative stress. We have identified the function of Glrx1 mediated PSSG in liver injury caused by APAP overdose.Increasing Glrx1 expression may be investigated for the medical treatment of APAP-caused hepatic injury.

{L-End}Objective To analyze the prevalence of multi-site work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) and their influencing factors among workers in the chemical pharmaceutical industry. {L-End}Methods A total of 563 workers from three chemical pharmaceutical factories in Guangzhou City were selected as the research subjects using the judgment sampling method. The prevalence of multi-site WMSDs in the past 12 months was investigated using the electronic questionnaire of Chinese Version of Musculoskeletal Disorders Questionnaire. {L-End}Results The prevalence of multi-site WMSDs in the research subjects was 30.0% (169/563). The results of multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that workers who smoked regularly/frequently and those who had their hands above shoulder level for long periods of time had a lower risk of multi-site WMSDs than those who never/occasionally smoked (all P≤0.05). Workers with a high school, secondary specialty, college degree, or above had a lower risk of multi-site WMSDs than those with a middle school education or below (all P<0.05). The longer the daily working hours, the higher the risk of multiple WMSDs (all P<0.05). Workers with regular/frequently work shifts had a lower risk of multi-site WMSDs than those with none/occasional work shifts (P<0.05). {L-End}Conclusion The prevalence of multi-site WMSDs among workers in the chemical pharmaceutical industry is relatively high. The influencing factors are individual factors, unreasonable work organization and poor ergonomics factors.

{L-End}Objective To investigate the current status of long working hours of food-delivery workers from food-delivery platform, and analyze its impact on their health such as occupational stress, depressive symptoms, insomnia symptoms, fatigue accumulation, and life satisfaction. {L-End}Methods A total of 2 145 food-delivery workers from two food-delivery platforms in Guangzhou City were selected as the research subjects using convenience sampling method. The occupational stress, depressive symptoms, insomnia symptoms, fatigue accumulation, and life satisfaction were investigated using the Core Occupational Stress Scale, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 items, Self-sleep Management Questionnaire, Self-diagnosis Questionnaire of Fatigue Accumulation of Workers, and World Health Organization Five-item Well Being Index. {L-End}Results The median and the 25th and 75th percentiles of weekly working hours were 63 (49,77) hours. And 92.2% (1 978/2 145) of workers, who worked more than 40 hours per week, were long working hours workers. While 70.1% (1 504/2 145) workers, who worked 55 hours or more per week, were ultra-long working hours workers. The detection rate of occupational stress, depressive symptoms, insomnia symptoms, fatigue accumulation, and low life satisfaction was 30.1%, 27.5%, 34.7%, 40.8%, and 75.1%, respectively. The longer the weekly working hours of the research subjects, the higher the detection rate of occupational stress and fatigue accumulation (all P<0.01). The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that ultra-long working hours (weekly working hours ≥55 hours) was the influencing factor of occupational stress and fatigue accumulation after excluding the influence of confounding factors among workers (all P<0.05). {L-End}Conclusion The food-delivery workers of food-delivery platforms generally work long hours. Ultra-long working hours is a risk factor for occupational stress and fatigue accumulation among these workers.

The outbreak and spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) highlighted the importance and urgency of the research and development of therapeutic drugs. Very early into the COVID-19 pandemic, China has begun developing drugs, with some notable progress. Herein, we summarizes the anti-COVID-19 drugs and promising drug candidates originally developed and researched in China. Furthermore, we discussed the developmental prospects, mechanisms of action, and advantages and disadvantages of the anti-COVID-19 drugs in development, with the aim to contribute to the rational use of drugs in COVID-19 treatment and more effective development of new drugs against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and the variants. Neutralizing antibody is an effective approach to overcome COVID-19. However, drug resistance induced by rapid virus mutation will likely to challenge neutralizing antibodies. Taking into account current epidemic trends, small molecule drugs have a crucial role in fighting COVID-19 due to their significant advantage of convenient administration and affordable and broad-spectrum. Traditional Chinese medicines, including natural products and traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, contribute to the treatment of COVID-19 due to their unique mechanism of action. Currently, the research and development of Chinese anti-COVID-19 drugs have led to some promising achievements, thus prompting us to expect even more rapidly available solutions.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects and underlying mechanism of Yinxing Mihuan oral solution (YM) on neovascularization and vascular remodeling in chemical photothrombosis-induced focal cerebral ischemia model in mice. MethodFifty SPF C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into sham group, model group, ginaton group (12.5 mg·kg-1), and low- (YM-L, 412 mg·kg-1) and high-dose (YM-H, 824 mg·kg-1) YM groups, with 10 mice in each group. The focal cerebral ischemia model was established by chemical photothrombosis method. Drugs in each group were administered by gavage for 14 consecutive days after operation. The modified neurological severity score (mNSS) and measurement of forelimb grasping were used to evaluate the neurologic impairment of mice. The vascular density of infarct border-zone (IBZ) was measured by fluorescein labelled dextran (FITC-dextran) method. The morphology of IBZ was evaluated and observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. The expression of proteins related to neovascularization and vascular remodeling in brain tissues, including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), platelet and endothelial cell adhesion molecule 1 (CD31), hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α), von Willebrand factor (vWF), and angiogenin (ANG), was detected by Western blot. ResultCompared with the sham group, the model group showed manifest neurological deficits (P<0.01), weakened forelimb grasping (P<0.01), increased vascular density of IBZ (P<0.01), and obvious pathological changes, such as neuronal necrosis and gliocyte proliferation. After treatment for 14 days, compared with the model group, the YM-H group showed improved neurological deficits (P<0.01), and the YM-L group and the YM-H group showed strengthened forelimb grasping (P<0.01). Moreover, the YM-L group displayed increased vascular density of IBZ (P<0.05), reduced pathological damage, and up-regulated protein expression of CD31, ANG, HIF-1α, and vWF (P<0.05, P<0.01). ConclusionYM could improve motor function and pathological morphological impairment in chemical photothrombosis-induced focal cerebral ischemia mouse model, and the underlying mechanism might be related to the promotion of neovascularization and vascular remodeling in IBZ.

Objective:To investigate any anti-aging effect of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and explore the relationship between the effect and relief of clinical symptoms in patients with Parkinson′s disease (PD).Methods:A total of 108 PD patients were randomly divided into an rTMS group and a control group, each of 54, while another 54 healthy counterparts were selected to form a normal group. In addition to anti-PD drug therapy, the rTMS group was given daily rTMS treatment, 5 days a week for 4 weeks, while the control group received sham rTMS treatment, with no treatment of the normal group. Before the treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment as well as and 1 month after the ending of the treatment, the subjects′ clinical exercise symptoms were evaluated using the Unified Parkinson′s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), a timed exercise test and the 10m re-entry exercise test. Non-exercise symptoms were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) and the Mini-mental State Examination (MMSE). Fasting venous blood samples were analyzed to quantify the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3).Results:Four weeks and 1 month after the treatment, the average UPDRS scores, exercise test times and 10m re-entry exercise test results of the rTMS group were significantly better than those before treatment and significantly better than those of the control group at the same time point. The rTMS group′s average HAMA, HAMD and MMSE scores, as well as its average P300 latency and amplitude were also significantly better than those of the control group at the same time point and significantly better than those before treatment. After 4 weeks, the average MMP-3 content in the rTMS group was significantly lower than the control group′s average, and after a month the average levels of TNF, IL-6, IL-1β and MMP-3 of the rTMS group were all significantly different from those before treatment and those of the control group. The TNF, IL-6, IL-1β and MMP-3 levels were all positively correlated with the average UPDRS total score.Conclusion:High-frequency rTMS therapy can change the phenotypes related to cell senescence, and thus has good therapeutic effect on motor and non-motor symptoms of PD.
