Children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) commonly experience difficulties with handwriting.However, there is currently no standardized tool for assessing dysgraphia in this population.Therefore, this paper provides a review of the commonly used handwriting assessment tools both domestically and internationally, as well as their application in individuals with DCD.The aim is to offer a reference to clinical professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of DCD in selecting appropriate tools for assessing handwriting difficulties in children.
2.Biocompatibility of poly(vinylidene fluoride)piezoelectric bionic periosteum prepared by electrospinning

BACKGROUND:Our previous studies have found that poly(vinylidene fluoride)bionic periosteum prepared by electrospinning has good cytocompatibility,but its biocompatibility is unknown. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the biocompatibility of poly(vinylidene fluoride)bionic periosteum doped with Zn2+and Mg2+. METHODS:Poly(vinylidene fluoride),poly(vinylidene fluoride)bionic periosteum doped with 1%Zn2+,doped with 1%Mg2+,and doped with 1%(Zn2++Mg2+)were prepared by electrospinning to make bionic periosteum extract.SD rats were selected as the experimental subjects for hemolysis test,short-term systemic toxicity test,and heat source test.Guinea pigs were selected as the experimental subjects for skin sensitization test.The biocompatibility of bionic periosteum of four groups was tested. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The hemolysis test results showed that the hemolysis rates of 1%Zn2+poly(vinylidene fluoride),1%Mg2+poly(vinylidene fluoride),1%Zn2++1%Mg2+poly(vinylidene fluoride)bionic periosteum and poly(vinylidene fluoride)extract were(0.130±0.013)%,(0.149±0.020)%,(0.466±0.018)%,and(0.037±0.018)%,respectively,which met the hemocompatibility standard of biomaterials.(2)The results of short-term systemic toxicity test showed that the four groups of bionic periosteal extract had no toxic signs such as body mass reduction,food intake changes,and dyspnea in SD rats,and had no toxic effects on major organs of rats.(3)Heat source test results showed that after intervention with poly(vinylidene fluoride)bionic periosteum doped with 1%Zn2+,doped with 1%Mg2+,and doped with 1%(Zn2++Mg2+),and poly(vinylidene fluoride)bionic periosteum extract,the elevated body temperature values of SD rats were(0.133±0.058),(0.100±0.010),(0.300±0.010),and(0.300±0.017)℃respectively.All were less than 0.6 ℃and the total temperature increase was less than 1.4 ℃.(4)The results of skin sensitization test showed that no erythema or edema was observed under the skin of guinea pigs after the intervention of bionic periosteum extract of four groups.(5)The results showed that poly(vinylidene fluoride)and poly(vinylidene fluoride)bionic periosteum doped with Zn2+and Mg2+had good biocompatibility.
3.FGF21 ameliorates severe acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury in rats by modulating autophagy

Objective:To explore the role of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) in rats with severe acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury (SAP-ALI) and its related molecular mechanisms.Methods:Twenty-four healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups (random number, n=6 per group): Control group, SAP group, FGF21 intervention group (SAP+FGF21 group), and autophagy inhibitor group (SAP+FGF21+3-MA group). The SAP model was established by retrograde injection of 3.5% sodium taurocholate into the pancreatic duct. In SAP+FGF21 group, FGF21 10 mg/kg was intraperitoneally injected at 1 hour before modeling. In SAP+FGF21+3-MA group, FGF21 10 mg/kg and 3-MA 20 mg/kg were intraperitoneally injected at 1 h before modeling. Serum amylase activity was detected by biochemical kit. Plasma levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and FGF21 were detected by ELISA. HE staining was used to observe the pathological changes of pancreas and lung tissues. Immunofluorescence was used to detect the protein level of FGF21 in lung tissue. Western blot was used to detect the expression levels of autophagy-related proteins in lung tissue. Autophagosomes in lung tissue were observed by electron microscopy. Results:Compared with the Control group, the plasma and lung tissue FGF21 levels in SAP group were significantly decreased (both P<0.001) , severe pancreatic and lung tissue damage, and elevated plasma TNF-α levels ( P<0.001). Western Blot and transmission electron microscopy showed that: The expression of LC3Ⅱ/Ⅰ in lung tissue of SAP group was down-regulated [(0.912±0.052) vs. (0.700±0.135), P<0.001], and P62 protein level was up-regulated [(0.475±0.068) vs. (0.687±0.070), P<0.001] , and reduced autophagosome counts in the SAP group. In contrast, the SAP+FGF21 group showed elevated FGF21 levels (both P<0.01), attenuated pancreatic and lung injury ( P<0.001), decreased TNF-α levels [(280.10±49.36) pg/mL vs. (86.32±66.00) pg/mL, P<0.001]. Lung tissue of LC3 Ⅱ/Ⅰ levels increase [(0.700±0.135) vs. (0.853±0.073), P<0.01], P62 protein levels cut [(0.687±0.070) vs. (0.538±0.030), P<0.01] ], and increased autophagosomes and autolysosomes under electron microscopy. Compared with SAP+FGF21 group, the expression levels of FGF21 in plasma and lung tissue in SAP+FGF21+3-MA group were not significantly changed, and the level of autophagy was decreased. Pancreas and lung tissue injury was severe ( P<0.001), Plasma TNF-α level obviously higher [(86.32±66.00) pg/mL vs. (212.90±11.56) pg/mL, P<0.05]. Conclusion:FGF21 may play a protective role in SAP-ALI by up-regulating the level of autophagy.
4.Comparison of Visual Prostate Symptom Score(Chinese version)and International Prostate Symptom Score in the evaluation of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia

Objective The aim of this study is to examine the Chinese version of Visual Prostate Symptom Score(CVPSS)and the International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS)in the assessment of lower urinary tract symptoms in BPH pa-tients.Methods By using convenient sampling,inpatients in the urology department of a tertiary grade A hospital in Shanghai were selected as the survey subjects from March 2023 to March 2024.The lower urinary tract symptoms of the patients were eval-uated using the self-designed general information questionnaire.And the CVPSS and IPSS with their urine flow rate were meas-ured.A comparative analysis was conducted from aspects such as internal consistency,correlation of item scores,completion time of the scale,and assistance rate.Results A total of 246 patients with BPH were recruited.The total score and life quality score were 13.93±3.55 and 4.23±1.02 by CVPSS.And the total score and life quality by IPSS was 18.33±7.55 and 4.36±1.02,respectively.The Cronbach's α coefficient were 0.761 and 0.787,respectively.The time taken on CVPSS was less than that on IPSS(P<0.01).And the rate of needing assistance was 23.58%for CVPSS,which was significantly lower than that(65.24%)for IPSS.Conclusion CVPSS is significantly correlated with the corresponding items and total scores of IPSS,as well as the quality of life.Moreover,it takes less time and can be used as a simple and effective self-assessment tool for lower urinary tract symptoms in elderly BPH patients with lower education levels.It reduces the burden of medical staffs as well.
5.Prediction of Peritumoral Brain Tissue Invasion in Atypical Meningioma by Multimodality MRI-Based Nomogram Model

Purpose To evaluate the value of multimodality MRI-based nomogram model for predicting peritumoral brain tissue invasion in atypical meningioma.Materials and Methods A total of 187 patients with pathologically diagnosed atypical meningioma in the First Affiliated Hospital Fujian Medical University from January 2018 to January 2023 were retrospectively enrolled,including 130 cases of peritumoral brain tissue invasion and 57 cases of none peritumoral brain tissue invasion.Clinical data and multimodality MRI features,including age,gender,tumor location,maximum diameter,peritumoral oedema,tumor-brain interface,lobulated sign,dural tail sign,cyst degeneration/necrosis,relative minimum apparent diffusion coefficient(rADCmin)and intratumoral susceptibility signal were analyzed.Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were performed to screen the independent predictors of peritumoral brain tissue invasion in atypical meningioma,then a multimodality MRI prediction model was constructed,and was visualized as a nomogram.The prediction performance of multimodality MRI-based nomogram model and each independent predictor were assessed using receiver operating characteristic curve.Results The maximum diameter(OR=0.705,95%CI 0.539-0.920,P=0.010),peritumoral oedema(OR=1.333,95%CI 1.095-1.624,P=0.004),tumor-brain interface(OR=5.121,95%CI 2.045-12.806,P<0.001)and rADCmin(OR=0.126,95%CI 0.033-0.483,P=0.002)were independent predictors of peritumoral brain tissue invasion in atypical meningioma.The area under the curve,sensitivity and specificity of the multimodality MRI-based nomogram model for predicting peritumoral brain tissue invasion in atypical meningioma was 0.80(95%CI 0.73-0.88),87.69%and 66.67%,respectively.The multimodality MRI-based nomogram model showed significantly higher area under the curve than that of the maximum diameter,peritumoral oedema,tumor-brain interface and rADCmin of atypical meningioma(all Z=3.665,3.904,4.359,3.701,P<0.05).Conclusion The multimodality MRI-based nomogram model may be helpful for the prediction of peritumoral brain tissue invasion in atypical meningioma.

9.Investigation on Detoxification Mechanism of Euphorbia Fischeriana Steud.Processed with Terminalia Chebula Retz Soup U-sing LC-MS and Simulation Processing

OBJECTIVE To explore the detoxification mechanism of Terminalia chebula Retz(TCR)soup-processed Euphorbia fischeriana Steud.(EFS)based on LC-MS and simulation processing.METHODS The changes of chemical composition of TCR soup-processed EFS,and dichloromethane extracts of crude EFS after simulation processing with TCR soup were analyzed by LC-MS.Mice were orally administered with alcoholic extracts of crude EFS,alcoholic extracts of water-processed EFS,alcoholic extracts of TCR soup,alcoholic extracts of TCR soup-processed EFS,dichloromethane extracts of crude EFS,dichloromethane extracts of TCR soup-processed EFS,and dichloromethane extracts of crude EFS after simulation processing with TCR soup,respectively.Toxicity changes in TCR soup-processed EFS and dichloromethane extracts of crude EFS after simulation processing with TCR soup were evalu-ated by fecal water contents,release levels of TNF-α and IL-1β,and intestinal pathology.RESULTS A total of 115 and 53 com-pounds were identified in EFS and TCR soup,respectively.The contents of 58 and 12 compounds significantly decreased and signifi-cantly increased respectively in EFS after processing with TCR soup.Compared to the blank control group,the fecal water contents and the release levels of TNF-α and IL-1β significantly increased in both the crude and water-processed EFS groups(P<0.01),and no-table intestinal injury was observed.Compared to the crude EFS group,the fecal water contents and the release levels of TNF-α and IL-1β significantly decreased in both the TCR soup group and the TCR soup-processed EFS group(P<0.01),and repaired intestinal injury was observed.After simulation processing for the dichloromethane extracts of crude EFS with TCR soup,the ion intensity change rates for diterpenoids and tannin phenolic acid compounds ranged from-6.75%to 8.09%and 66.06%to 100.00%,respectively.The ion intensity change rates of diterpenoids in the dichloromethane extracts of TCR soup-processed EFS ranged from-9.92%to 54.72%with almost no tannin phenolic acid compounds.Compared to the blank control group,the fecal water contents and the release levels of TNF-α and IL-1β significantly increased in both the dichloromethane extracts of crude and TCR soup-processed EFS groups(P<0.01),and severe intestinal injury was observed.Compared to the dichloromethane extracts of crude EFS group,the fecal water contents and the release levels of TNF-α and IL-1β significantly decreased in the group of the dichloromethane extracts of crude EFS after simulation processing with TCR soup(P<0.01),with no apparent intestinal injury.CONCLUSION TCR soup pro-cessing can alleviate the intestinal toxicity of EFS.The detoxification mechanism may involve the introduction of a large number of tan-nin phenolic acid compounds in TCR soup during the processing of EFS,which plays a pharmacological antagonistic role in the animal body.
10.Evaluation of antibacterial properties of uniaxial and coaxial minocycline hydrochloride-loaded bone scaffolds

BACKGROUND:Due to the unstable drug release rate of uniaxial bone scaffolds,multi-structure composite printing methods have been sought in and outside China in recent years.Currently,coaxial drug-loaded bone scaffolds,which combine drug-loaded sustained release system with bone transplantation and repair technology,not only replace the defective bone after implantation,but also release drugs slowly,providing a microenvironment conducive to bone formation at the implant site. OBJECTIVE:To explore and assess the in vitro antibacterial properties of uniaxial and coaxial minocycline hydrochloride bone scaffolds. METHODS:Rapid prototyping technology was used to prepare uniaxial hydroxyapatite/silk fibroin-polyvinyl alcohol scaffold,uniaxial hydroxyapatite/silk fibroin-polyvinyl alcohol scaffold,coaxial hydroxyapatite/silk fibroin-polyvinyl alcohol scaffold,and coaxial hydroxyapatite/silk fibroin-polyvinyl alcohol scaffold,respectively,which were named S1,S2,T1 and T2.The morphology,porosity,degradation performance,in vitro sustained-release performance and cytotoxicity of scaffolds were characterized.Four kinds of bone scaffolds were immersed in PBS to prepare the extracts at different time points(1,3,5,7,14,21,and 28 days).The qualitative filter paper was placed into the extract for 24 hours.The filter paper was co-cultured with Porphyromonas gingivalis and Fusobacterium nucleatum for 72 hours.The bacteriostatic effect of four groups of scaffolds was detected by the agar diffusion method. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Scaffold characterization:Four groups of scaffolds were well formed.The surface of micro-wires in the S1 and S2 groups was dense and smooth,and the surface of micro-wires in the T1 and T2 groups was rough.Porosity was between 40%-47%and met the requirements of bone scaffolds.Compared with the S2 group,sustained release time was longer in the T2 group.The sustained release concentration of the drug was between 1-10 μg/mL for a long time,which was more conducive to bacteriostasis and osteogenesis.After 10 weeks of immersion in PBS in vitro,the degradation rate of the coaxial printed bone scaffold was faster than that of the corresponding uniaxial printed bone scaffold,and the degradation rate of the coaxial loaded bone scaffold was lower than that of the coaxial non-loaded bone scaffold.The four groups of scaffold extracts were co-cultured with osteoblasts respectively.CCK-8 assay displayed that the cell proliferation rate was greater than 75%,which met the requirements of biocompatibility.(2)In vitro antibacterial effect:S1 and T1 did not have antibacterial activity.S2 and T2 had an obvious antibacterial effect.Under the extraction solution on day 28,the diameter of Porphyromonas gingivalis and Fusobacterium nucleatum inhibition zone in the S2 group was smaller than that in the T2 group(P<0.05).(3)These findings exhibit that hydroxyapatite/silk fibroin-polyvinyl alcohol scaffolds with coaxial minocycline have good physical properties and bacteriostatic properties.
