Background Frailty serves as a significant precursor to falls, disability, and mortality. Epidemiological evidence examining the impact of working hours on frailty remains scarce. Objective To explore the prevalence of frailty and the relationship between frailty and working hours among full-time middle-aged and older workers in China. Methods Data were derived from the 2020 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). The study included full-time workers aged 45 years and above with a weekly working duration exceeding 35 h. Frailty was assessed using the Frailty Index (FI). First, the dose-response relationship between working hours and FI was explored using a generalized additive model (GAM). Second, univariate analyses were performed using t-tests, χ2 tests, and the Jonckheere–Terpstra trend test. Restricted cubic splines (RCS) were introduced for modeling. Based on ordinal logistic regression models, covariates were adjusted sequentially to examine whether differences in frailty prevalence existed across different weekly working hour categories. Finally, subgroup analyses were performed. Results Among the

Rectal cancer is a prevalent malignant tumor both in China and worldwide. Despite the availability of numerous sphincter-preserving procedures for low rectal cancer, each with specific indications, advantages, and limitations, no single procedure achieves optimal outcomes in all key domains: anal function preservation, surgical complication reduction, local recurrence rate minimization, and patient quality of life improvement. This article reviewed the evolutionary trajectory of laparoscopic sphincter-preserving surgery for low rectal cancer, while addressing current surgical challenges including prevention and management of anastomotic leakage, strategies for ensuring adequate distal resection margins, and functional outcomes prognosis. Corresponding countermeasures for these critical issues were systematically discussed.

Objective:To investigate the effect and safety of the double-cross dressing technique for composite rhytidectomy. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on a total of 121 patients with face and neck ageing, who were admitted to the Facial and Neck Plastic Surgery Center, the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from June 2020 to May 2023, all female with the age ranged 34-72 years old. All the patients underwent a full facial and neck composite rhytidectomy. Immediately after surgery, a double-cross bandaging was applied. The cotton pad was nested on the outer auricle, so that the front of the ear and the back of the ear were the first cross. This cross aimed to accurately pressurized the temporal, buccal region and postauricle flap. The second cross occurred at the radix. It secured composite tissue flap at the zygomatic arch and the buccal fat pad zone. Patient′s external auricle was not compressed after bandaging. The healing and the occurrence of complications were observed. Results:All the patients were satisfied with the comfort of the bandaging, the satisfied rate was 100% (121/121). All the patients had different degrees of periocular and perioral swelling 72 hours after surgery. Conjunctival edema and xanthochromia occurred in 30 patients, and oral mucosal congestion occurred in 25 patients, all of which were spontaneously resolved 2-4 weeks after surgery. Postoperative nursing was easily managed. There were no events such as dressing loosening, blocked draining tubes, and difficulty in replacing tubes. All the patients were followed up for 3-12 months after surgery, the flap in the postauricular area of all patients healed well, and there were no adverse complications such as wound infection, necrosis of the flap in the operative area, and delayed healing of the incision. Conclusion:The double-cross bandaging technique achieves the comfort bandaging and good protection of the face, which is safe and effective.

BACKGROUND:Transcranial magneto-acoustic-electrical stimulation is a novel non-invasive neural regulation technique that utilizes the induced electric field generated by the coupling effect of ultrasound and static magnetic field to regulate the discharge activity of the nervous system. However, the mechanism by which it affects synaptic plasticity in the brain is still not enough. OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of transcranial magneto-acoustic-electrical stimulation intensity on synaptic plasticity of the prefrontal cortex neural network in mice. METHODS:(1)Animal experiment:Twenty-four C57 mice were equally and randomly divided into four groups:the control group receiving pseudo-stimulation,the 6.35 W/cm2 stimulation group receiving coupled stimulation of 0.3 T,6.35 W/cm2,the 17.36 W/cm2 stimulation group receiving coupled stimulation of 0.3 T,17.36 W/cm2,and the 56.25 W/cm2 stimulation group receiving coupled stimulation of 0.3 T,56.25 W/cm2.The local field potential signals and behavioral correctness were recorded during the execution of T-maze in mice.(2)Modeling and simulation experiments:A neural network model of the prefrontal cortex in mice stimulated by transcranial magneto-acoustic-electrical stimulation was constructed to compare the structural connectivity characteristics of the neural network under different stimulation intensities. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Transcranial magneto-acoustic-electrical stimulation could effectively shorten the behavior learning time, improve the working memory ability of mice(P<0.05),and continue to stimulate the frontal lobe of mice after learning behavior. There was no significant difference in the accuracy of the T-maze behavioral experiment among the experimental groups(P>0.1).Analysis of local field potential signals in the frontal lobe of mice revealed that transcranial magneto-acoustic-electrical stimulation promoted energy enhancement of β and γ rhythms. As the stimulation intensity increased, there was an asynchronous decrease in β and γ rhythms.Through β-γ phase amplitude coupling,it was found that stimuli could enhance the neural network's ability to adapt to new information and task requirements.Modeling and simulation experiments found that stimulation could enhance the discharge level of the neural network, increase the long-term synaptic weight level, and decrease the short-term synaptic weight level only when the stimulation intensity was high.To conclude, there is a complex nonlinear relationship between different stimulus intensities and the functional structure of neural networks. This neural regulation technique may provide new possibilities for the treatment of related neurological diseases such as synaptic dysfunction and neural network abnormalities.

Aiming at the problems of tongue diagnosis instruments relying on manual operation, uneven illumination, color distortion and lack of dynamic information,an automated operation black box tongue diagnosis instrument based on machine vision is proposed. This instrument utilizes machine vision technology and image processing algorithms to achieve automatic positioning and automatic acquisition of tongue manifestations.High-resolution camera technology enables the acquisition of 3-second dynamic videos and high-quality static images. The performance test results show that, based on the dual-camera geometric projection calibration algorithm, the average time for tongue recognition is less than 0.15 seconds. The diffuse reflection light source improves the gray uniformity to 76.74%,and the maximum color difference in color reproduction degree is 19,which is better than the industry standard value of 25.The developed tongue diagnosis instrument will promote the objective, efficient and precise acquisition of tongue diagnosis in traditional Chinese medicine.
