Objective To gain insights into the biological characteristics of different populations of Culex tritaeniorhynchus within and around the Yellow Sea wetland from the perspective of the occurrence of resistance, we investigated the levels of resistance to deltamethrin and kdr gene mutation in the wetland and its peripheral areas. Methods Specimens were collected from Cx. tritaeniorhynchus populations at two monitoring sites in the Rare Bird National Nature Reserve and Tiaozi Ni Wetland Scenic Area, and also from two populations in Yancheng City and the Liuhe District of Nanjing, and the resistance of these mosquitoes to deltamethrin was determined using the CDC biotest bottle method. For each concentration of deltamethrin assessed, a random subset of exposed specimens was selected for amplification of the kdr gene fragment, followed by Sanger sequencing to identify and analyze resistance-associated mutations. Results The LC50 levels of deltamethrin among mosquitoes from the four populations in Luhe, Yancheng, the Rare Bird National Nature Reserve and the Tiaozi Ni Wetland Scenic Area were 2.048 5, 7.798 2, 3.473 3, and 17.695 5 mg/mL, respectively, with corresponding concentrations of deltamethrin ranging from 0.005 to 5.000,0.050 to 50.000,0.050 to 25.000 and 0.050 to 50.000 mg/mL, respectively. Furthermore, the ranges of the KT50 values were 11.76-107.43, 67.05-216.30,29.77-107.43 and 28.40-329.51 min; the 1-h knockdown rates were 34.58%-99.15%, 9.52%-43.80%, 55.09%-73.01%, and 10.09%-68.07%; and the 24-h mortality rates were 12.15%-67.52%,9.52%-79.56%,13.17%-82.21%, and 11.01%-78.99%, respectively. With respect to kdr gene mutation, we assayed a total of 63,70,59, and 57 mosquitoes for the four populations, for which we detected L1014F mutation frequencies of 14.29%, 35.00%, 20.34%, and 31.58%, respectively, with a majority of these mutations being heterozygous for resistance. In addition, five adult mosquitoes were identified has having synonymous mutations at site 1011[i. e. , AAT(asparagine)mutation to AAC(asparagine)]. Conclusions Our findings revealed the clear resistance of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus to deltamethrin in the Yancheng region of the Yellow Sea wetland, and the resistance phenotype and kdr frequency of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus in the wetland environment were comparable to those of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus in the wetland environment, thereby indicating that the resistance of different populations of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus was homogeneous under the pressure of different insecticide selection within and around the wetland. However, the underlying mechanisms need to be further studied.

Objective:
Negative symptoms in schizophrenia indicate a poor prognosis. However, the mechanisms underlying the development of negative symptoms remain unclear. This study investigated the relationship between negative symptoms in schizophrenia and frontal alpha asymmetry (FAA).
Methods:
The study used a 32-channel electroencephalography to acquire alpha power in 4 target-paired sites in each patient. Regional alpha asymmetry was calculated based on the alpha power using EEGLAB Frontal Alpha Asymmetry Toolbox.
Results:
Sixty schizophrenia patients with predominant negative symptoms (PNS), 72 stabilized schizophrenia (SS) patients, and 73 healthy control (HC) participants were enrolled in this study. No significant differences were observed in FAA between the PNS and SS groups, although both groups exhibited reduced P3-P4 alpha asymmetry compared to HCs. A positive correlation was found between F7-F8 alpha asymmetry and illness duration. Additionally, a predictive model based on P3-P4 alpha asymmetry scores was able to differentiate schizophrenia patients from HCs, achieving a sensitivity of 71.2% and a specificity of 72.6%.
Conclusion
This study highlighted that parietal alpha asymmetry could serve as a valuable diagnostic tool for schizophrenia.

Background:
and Purpose Symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) following endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is a severe complication associated with adverse functional outcomes and increased mortality rates. Currently, a reliable predictive model for sICH risk after EVT is lacking.
Methods:
This study used data from patients aged ≥20 years who underwent EVT for anterior circulation stroke from the nationwide Taiwan Registry of Endovascular Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke (TREAT-AIS). A predictive model including factors associated with an increased risk of sICH after EVT was developed to differentiate between patients with and without sICH. This model was compared existing predictive models using nationwide registry data to evaluate its relative performance.
Results:
Of the 2,507 identified patients, 158 developed sICH after EVT. Factors such as diastolic blood pressure, Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score, platelet count, glucose level, collateral score, and successful reperfusion were associated with the risk of sICH after EVT. The TREAT-AIS score demonstrated acceptable predictive accuracy (area under the curve [AUC]=0.694), with higher scores being associated with an increased risk of sICH (odds ratio=2.01 per score increase, 95% confidence interval=1.64–2.45, P<0.001). The discriminatory capacity of the score was similar in patients with symptom onset beyond 6 hours (AUC=0.705). Compared to existing models, the TREAT-AIS score consistently exhibited superior predictive accuracy, although this difference was marginal.
Conclusions
The TREAT-AIS score outperformed existing models, and demonstrated an acceptable discriminatory capacity for distinguishing patients according to sICH risk levels. However, the differences between models were only marginal. Further research incorporating periprocedural and postprocedural factors is required to improve the predictive accuracy.

Objective To analyze the anatomical relationship between maxillary premolars and the alveolar bone and maxillary sinus using cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT),in order to provide an anatomical basis for immediate implant placement in maxillary premolars. Methods Data from 351 patients who underwent maxillary CBCT imaging at Yancheng Stomatological Hospital between January 2022 and December 2023 were collected.Measurements included the vertical distance between premolar roots and the maxillary sinus floor, intraosseous root length, angle between the tooth axis and alveolar bone axis, and buccal/palatal bone wall thickness, with comparisons of gender differences. Results The median vertical distance between single-rooted maxillary first premolars and the maxil-lary sinus floor was 10.16 mm,while that for second premolars was 4.61 mm.For double-rooted first premolars, the buccal root dis-tance was(4.13±3.99)mm and the palatal root was(5.14±3.94)mm.Maxillary first premolars were farther from the maxillary sinus floor than maxillary second premolars, with palatal roots farther than buccal roots. The intraosseous root length of maxillary first premo-lars was(9.20±1.44)mum,and maxillary second premolars(9.64±2.04)mm.Maxillary first premolars exhibited significantly shorter intraosseous root length than maxillary second premolars. The angle α between tooth axis and alveolar bone axis was 18.89°±6.33° for maxillary first premolars, and 12.65°±6.10° for maxillary second premolars, showing statistically significant differences. The buccal bone wall thickness of maxillary first premolars gradually decreased from 2 mm subcrest to the apex, while palatal bone walls of maxil-lary first premolars and both buccal/palatal walls of maxillary second premolars progressively thickened from 2 mm subcrest to the apex.Significant correlations were identified between angle α and buccopalatal bone wall thickness at mid-root and the apex:increased α cor-responded with reduced buccal wall thickness and enhanced palatal wall thickness. Conclusion The apical region of maxillary first premolars provides sufficient bone volume for primary stability in immediate implantation, though the thin buccal bone wall necessitates careful consideration of implant shape and positioning.Maxillary second premolar roots are closely adjacent to the maxillary sinus floor, requiring implant stabilization with the sinus floor cortical bone or me-siodistal walls of the extraction socket.
