ObjectiveTo explore the potential mechanism of acupuncture with the method of soothing the liver and regulating the mind in improving depressive disorder. MethodsEighteen C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into blank group, model group, and acupuncture group, with 6 mice in each group. The model group and the acupuncture group were subjected to depression induction by intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS), while the blank group received an equal volume of normal saline once daily for seven consecutive days. Concurrently, the acupuncture group received "soothing the liver and regulating the mind" acupuncture intervention starting from the first day of modeling, once daily for 14 days; whereas the blank group and the model group were only restrained without acupuncture. The sucrose preference test was used to assess sucrose preference rate, the open-field test to measure center stay time and total travel distance, and the forced swim test to evaluate immobility time. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was performed to observe hippocampal morphological changes. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in hippocampal tissue. Western blot analysis was conducted to examine the protein expression levels of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in the hippocampus. ResultsCompared to the blank group, the model group showed a significant reduction in sucrose preference rate, center stay time, and total travel distance, along with a significant increase in immobility time in the forced swim test, hippocampal IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α levels, as well as TLR4 and NF-κB protein expression (P<0.01), and the histological examination revealed blurred hippocampal neuronal boundaries, loose arrangement, and some neurons exhibiting nuclear pyknosis and deep staining. Compared to the model group, the acupuncture group demonstrated a significant increase in sucrose preference rate, center stay time, and total travel distance, along with a significant reduction in immobility time in the forced swim test, hippocampal IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α levels, and TLR4 and NF-κB protein expression (P<0.01), and the histological analysis showed that hippocampal neurons in the acupuncture group were more tightly arranged, with reduced nuclear pyknosis and deep staining. ConclusionAcupuncture with the "soothing the liver and regulating the mind" method can significantly improve depression-like behavior, potentially by inhibiting the hippocampal TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway and alleviating inflammatory responses.

Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia 2025;11(4):137-144
Objectives:
The effectiveness of combining romosozumab (ROMO) with denosumab (Dmab) remains uncertain. We compare the six-month effects of Dmab plus monthly ROMO versus Dmab plus daily teriparatide (TPTD) on bone mineral density (BMD) in treatment-naïve postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
Methods:
This retrospective cohort study analyzed 26 treatment-naïve postmenopausal women with primary osteoporosis. Participants received either a monthly regimen of ROMO and Dmab (N = 14) or a daily regimen of TPTD plus Dmab (N = 12). BMD at the lumbar spine, total hip, and femoral neck was measured at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. Serum levels of C-terminal telopeptide (CTX) and procollagen type I N-terminal propeptide (P1NP) were assessed at the same intervals.
Results:
Both regimens significantly improved lumbar spine BMD at 6 months (ROMO + Dmab: +9.75%; TPTD +Dmab: +7.42%). Improvements in total hip and femoral neck BMD were modest and similar between groups (~2%). Serum CTX and P1NP were significantly suppressed in both groups at 3 months, but P1NP suppression waned in the TPTD + Dmab group by 6 months. No statistically significant differences in BMD or marker changes were detected between the two regimens.
Conclusions
Both combination therapies effectively improve lumbar spine BMD over 6 months. The ROMO +Dmab regimen yielded numerically greater increases with fewer injections.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) diseases are common clinical conditions. The number of patients with TMJ diseases is large, and the etiology, epidemiology, disease spectrum, and treatment of the disease remain controversial and unknown. To understand and master the current situation of the occurrence, development and prevention of TMJ diseases, as well as to identify the patterns in etiology, incidence, drug sensitivity, and prognosis is crucial for alleviating patients′suffering. This will facilitate in-depth medical research, effective disease prevention measures, and the formulation of corresponding health policies. Cohort construction and research has an irreplaceable role in precise disease prevention and significant improvement in diagnosis and treatment levels. Large-scale cohort studies are needed to explore the relationship between potential risk factors and outcomes of TMJ diseases, and to observe disease prognoses through long-term follw-ups. The consensus aims to establish a standard conceptual frame work for a cohort study on patients with TMJ disease while providing ideas for cohort data standards to this condition. TMJ disease cohort data consists of both common data standards applicable to all specific disease cohorts as well as disease-specific data standards. Common data were available for each specific disease cohort. By integrating different cohort research resources, standard problems or study variables can be unified. Long-term follow-up can be performed using consistent definitions and criteria across different projects for better core data collection. It is hoped that this consensus will be facilitate the development cohort studies of TMJ diseases.

Objective:To explore the value of mitoxantrone hydrochloride injection for tracing in endoscopic thyroidectomy (ETE) via anterior chest approach for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) .Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients undergoing ETE via anterior chest approach for PTC admitted to Beijing Longfu Hospital (Medical Treatment Combination with Peking Union Medical College Hospital) from Sep. 2022 to Mar. 2024. The patients were divided into two groups: the control group (without tracer) and the tracer group (with mitoxantrone hydrochloride injection for tracing). All surgeries were performed by the same thyroid surgical team. Baseline, postoperative pathologies and complications were compared between the 2 groups. Results:A total of 25 patients (13 in the control group and 12 in the tracer group) were included in this study, and the average dissection of unilateral central region lymph nodes in the tracer group was 7.4±4.6, significantly more than in the control group (2.4±1.9) ( P=0.004). There were no instances of mistakenly resected parathyroid gland in the postoperative pathology or accidental injury of recurrent laryngeal nerve in either group. The incidence of transient hypocalcemia did not significantly different between the two groups ( P=0.503). However, the incidence of transient hypoparathyroidism in the tracer group was 1 (1/12,8.3%), significantly lower than in the control group 4 (4/13,30.8%) ( P=0.009). The tracer group exhibited more impressive levels in parathyroid hormone (5.4±8.1) pg/mL compared to the control group (20.0±11.1) pg/mL ( P=0.001) .The total volume of postoperative drainage in the tracer group (142.9±71.7) mL was more than that of the control group (87.7±38.8) mL ( P=0.030). But It did not affect the extubation time in either group ( P=0.610). No residual tracer was observed at the skin puncture site in the tracer group after 2 weeks. Conclusions:Mitoxantrone hydrochloride injection for tracing as tracer in ETE via breast approach can increase the number of pathological lymph nodes dissection in cervical central region. Combined with negative development, identifying and protecting the function of parathyroid glands show feasible and potential application value to improve the safety of thyroidectomy. The use of mitoxantrone hydrochloride injection for tracer has the risk of increased exudation from the surgical area, but does not affect the time to remove the drain.

Patients with severe trauma require an extremely timely treatment and transfusion plays an irreplaceable role in the emergency treatment of such patients. An increasing number of evidence-based medicinal evidences and clinical practices suggest that patients with severe traumatic bleeding benefit from early transfusion of low-titer group O whole blood or hemostatic resuscitation with red blood cells, plasma and platelet of a balanced ratio. However, the current domestic mode of blood supply cannot fully meet the requirements of timely and effective blood transfusion for emergency treatment of patients with severe trauma in clinical practice. In order to solve the key problems in blood supply and blood transfusion strategies for emergency treatment of severe trauma, Branch of Clinical Transfusion Medicine of Chinese Medical Association, Group for Trauma Emergency Care and Multiple Injuries of Trauma Branch of Chinese Medical Association, Young Scholar Group of Disaster Medicine Branch of Chinese Medical Association organized domestic experts of blood transfusion medicine and trauma treatment to jointly formulate Chinese expert consensus on blood support mode and blood transfusion strategies for emergency treatment of severe trauma patients ( version 2024). Based on the evidence-based medical evidence and Delphi method of expert consultation and voting, 10 recommendations were put forward from two aspects of blood support mode and transfusion strategies, aiming to provide a reference for transfusion resuscitation in the emergency treatment of severe trauma and further improve the success rate of treatment of patients with severe trauma.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2024;40(12):1007-1023
Diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, collectively referred to the " Three Highs, " represent increasingly prevalent metabolic risk factors in China. Many individuals experience all three conditions concurrently, significantly heightening the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality. Although the National Metabolic Management Center(MMC) has been established for over eight years and has its unique features, the awareness, treatment, and control rates of these diseases in China remain low, and the efficiency of community management is insufficient. According to the previous two editions of management guidelines and the most recent domestic and international diagnostic and treatment guidelines, this paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the operational experience and management strategies of the MMC. Its aim is to improve the efficiency of grassroots MMC mode management for " Three Highs" patients and ensure that patients receive more standardized management.
