Alcoholic liver disease(ALD), a major cause of chronic liver disease worldwide, poses a serious threat to human health. Despite the availability of various drugs for treating ALD, their efficacy is often uncertain, necessitating the search for new therapeutic approaches. Traditional Chinese medicine polysaccharides have garnered increasing attention in recent years due to their versatility, high efficiency, and low side effects, and they have demonstrated significant potential in preventing and treating ALD. Emerging studies have suggested that these polysaccharides exert their therapeutic effects through multiple mechanisms, including the inhibition of oxidative stress and the regulation of lipid metabolism, gut microbiota, and programmed cell death. This review summarizes the recent research progress in the pharmacological effects and regulatory mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine polysaccharides in treating ALD, aiming to provide a scientific basis and theoretical support for their application in the prevention and treatment of ALD.

Jiuwei Xifeng Granules have become a Chinese patent medicine in the market. Because the formula contains Os Draconis, a top-level protected fossil of ancient organisms, the formula was to be improved by replacing Os Draconis with Ostreae Concha. To evaluate whether the improved formula has the same effectiveness and safety as the original formula, a randomized, double-blind, parallel-controlled, equivalence clinical trial was conducted. This study enrolled 288 tic disorder(TD) of children and assigned them into two groups in 1∶1. The treatment group and control group took the modified formula and original formula, respectively. The treatment lasted for 6 weeks, and follow-up visits were conducted at weeks 2, 4, and 6. The primary efficacy endpoint was the difference in Yale global tic severity scale(YGTSS)-total tic severity(TTS) score from baseline after 6 weeks of treatment. The results showed that after 6 weeks of treatment, the declines in YGTSS-TSS score showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups. The difference in YGTSS-TSS score(treatment group-control group) and the 95%CI of the full analysis set(FAS) were-0.17[-1.42, 1.08] and those of per-protocol set(PPS) were 0.29[-0.97, 1.56], which were within the equivalence boundary [-3, 3]. The equivalence test was therefore concluded. The two groups showed no significant differences in the secondary efficacy endpoints of effective rate for TD, total score and factor scores of YGTSS, clinical global impressions-severity(CGI-S) score, traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) response rate, or symptom disappearance rate, and thus a complete evidence chain with the primary outcome was formed. A total of 6 adverse reactions were reported, including 4(2.82%) cases in the treatment group and 2(1.41%) cases in the control group, which showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups. No serious suspected unexpected adverse reactions were reported, and no laboratory test results indicated serious clinically significant abnormalities. The results support the replacement of Os Draconis by Ostreae Concha in the original formula, and the efficacy and safety of the modified formula are consistent with those of the original formula.

OBJECTIVES: Anxiety is a common negative emotion. Under current social circumstances, university young teachers face multiple stressors and are more prone to anxiety, seriously threatening their physical and mental health. This study aims to investigate the impact of job insecurity on anxiety of university young teachers, while exploring the mediating roles of perceived stress and insomnia on this relationship. METHODS: Using convenience sampling, young teachers from a general university in a Chinese province were surveyed online. Scores of the Job Insecurity Scale, Perceived Stress Scale, Athens Insomnia Scale-Short Form, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale were collected. A chain mediation analysis was conducted using the PROCESS macro. RESULTS: A total of 798 subjects were finally included. The detection rate of anxiety among university young teachers was 36.47%. Mediation analysis showed that job insecurity not only had a direct effect on anxiety, but also indirectly affected anxiety via perceived stress (46.42% of the total effect) and insomnia (7.45%), as well as through the chain-mediating path of perceived stress→ insomnia (13.18%; all P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Job insecurity is a significant predictor of anxiety in young university faculty. Perceived stress and insomnia serve as sequential mediators in this relationship. Targeted interventions addressing job insecurity, stress perception, and sleep disturbances, alongside efforts to improve mental health literacy and the working environment, may help promote the overall well-being of university young teachers.

Apical microsurgery is accurate and minimally invasive, produces few complications, and has a success rate of more than 90%. However, due to the lack of awareness and understanding of apical microsurgery by dental general practitioners and even endodontists, many clinical problems remain to be overcome. The consensus has gathered well-known domestic experts to hold a series of special discussions and reached the consensus. This document specifies the indications, contraindications, preoperative preparations, operational procedures, complication prevention measures, and efficacy evaluation of apical microsurgery and is applicable to dentists who perform apical microsurgery after systematic training.

Human brain banks use a standardized protocol to collect,process and store post-mortem human brains and related tissues,along with relevant clinical information,and to provide the tissue samples and data as a resource to foster neuroscience research according to a standardized operating protocols(SOP).Human brain bank serves as the foundation for neuroscience research and the diagnosis of neurological disorders,highlighting the crucial rule of ensuring the consistency of standardized quality for brain tissue samples.The first version of SOP in 2017 was published by the China Human Brain Bank Consortium.As members increases from different regions in China,a revised SOP was drafted by experts from the China Human Brain Bank Consortium to meet the growing demands for neuroscience research.The revised SOP places a strong emphasis on ethical standards,incorporates neuropathological evaluation of brain regions,and provides clarity on spinal cord sampling and pathological assessment.Notable enhancements in this updated version of the SOP include reinforced ethical guidelines,inclusion of matching controls in recruitment,and expansion of brain regions to be sampled for neuropathological evaluation.

Objective To observe the effect of deglycerolized red blood cells suspended in MAP on preservation and ex-plore the most effective preservation method.Methods Concentrated red blood cells were prepared by centrifuging 400 mL of whole blood on the third day after collection.40%compound glycerol solution was added using the ACP 215 automatic blood cell analyzer,and the resulting mixture was stored in an ultra-low temperature refrigerator at-65℃for 30 days.After thawing and washing,it was equally separated into two bags.The control group received 0.9%sodium chloride solution,while the experimental group received MAP.Both groups were stored at 2-6℃.Hematological parameters,hemolysis inde-xes and cell metabolism indexes were measured on day 0,1,3,5,7 and 14 after storage.The quality changes of both groups were observed during the 14-day storage period.Results The quality of red blood cells in both groups was assessed through a panel of quality tests,including volume,hemoglobin content,free hemoglobin content,white blood cell residue,glycerin residue and sterility.These results met the Quality Requirements outlined in the"Quality Requirements of Whole Blood and Component Blood"(GB18469-2012),Hematocrit,red blood cell count,Hb recovery rate after washing and MCV meet the detection limit outlined in the"Expert Consensus on Quality Evaluation Indicators for Frozen Red Blood Cells",and the residual amount of platelets exceeds the detection limit(≤1%).There were no significant differences in RBC,Hct,MCV and hemoglobin between the two groups during the 14 day storage period.The level of free hemoglobin,hemolysis rate and K+value increased in both groups over time.Significant differences in free hemoglobin were found on day 3,5,7 and 14 between the two groups(P<0.05).Hemolysis rate was significantly different on days 3,5,7 and 14,while K+value was significantly different only on day 14(P<0.05).On day 14,the osmotic fragility of red blood cells was higher in the control group than in the experimental group(P<0.05);The ATP and pH values of both groups decreased as storage time in-creased,and significant differences in ATP and pH value were found on day 3,5,7 and on day 1,3,5,7 and 14,respec-tively(P<0.05).Conclusion Deglycerolized red blood cells suspended in MAP additive solution can extend the storage period of blood to 7 days.This study provides a reference for the formulation of relevant standards.

Objective:To investigate the application effect of injecting ozone water into the dorsal root ganglion combined with skin lesions in the acute stage of herpes zoster.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 90 patients with acute lesions of herpes zoster in the chest and abdomen who were admitted to the outpatient department of Changsha Central Hospital from February 2021 to April 2024. According to the random number table method, they were divided into two groups, each with 45 cases. The control group received oral administration of famciclovir, pregabalin, weak laser skin lesion illumination, and local application of mupirocin. The observation group received 10 ml of 25 μ g/ml ozone water injected into the dorsal root ganglion under ultrasound guidance on the basis of the control group, and 20 ml of 25 μg/ml ozone water injected subcutaneously into the skin lesion. Two groups of local lesions were compared in terms of the cessation of blister growth, local scab formation, and significant pain relief time. The changes in pain Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) score and the proportion of viral inclusions in the blisters during the treatment were also analyzed. The sleep quality and quality of life scores, as well as complications during the treatment process, were analyzed after 10 days of treatment in both groups.Results:The observation group had a shorter time for the cessation of local lesion blister growth, local scab formation, and significant pain relief compared to the control group (all P<0.05). After 48 hours and 10 days of treatment, the pain NRS score of both groups was lower than before treatment (all P<0.05), and the pain NRS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group at the same time after 48 hours and 10 days of treatment (all P<0.05). After 48 hours and 10 days of treatment, the proportion of viral inclusions in the blisters of both groups was lower than before treatment (all P<0.05), and the observation group had a lower proportion of viral inclusions in the blisters than the control group at the same time (all P<0.05). After 10 days of treatment, the sleep quality and quality of life scores of the observation group were better than those of the control group (all P<0.05). The total incidence of complications such as local infections, insomnia, palpitations, and local numbness during the treatment process of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Subcutaneous injection of ozone water into the dorsal root ganglion and lesion site of patients with acute stage herpes zoster can inhibit the growth of local blisters, promote scab formation, reduce the level of viral inclusions in blisters, effectively alleviate patient pain, improve their sleep quality and quality of life, and reduce the occurrence of complications.

The dental operative microscope has been widely employed in the field of dentistry, particularly in endodontics and operative dentistry, resulting in significant advancements in the effectiveness of root canal therapy, endodontic surgery, and dental restoration. However, the improper use of this microscope continues to be common in clinical settings, primarily due to operators' insufficient understanding and proficiency in both the features and established operating procedures of this equipment. In October 2019, Professor Jingping Liang, Vice Chairman of the Society of Cariology and Endodontology, Chinese Stomatological Association, organized a consensus meeting with Chinese experts in endodontics and operative dentistry. The objective of this meeting was to establish a standard operation procedure for the dental operative microscope. Subsequently, a consensus was reached and officially issued. Over the span of about four years, the content of this consensus has been further developed and improved through practical experience.
