Objective:To investigate the expression of lysosome-associated membrane protein 3(LAMP3)and activating transcription factor 4(ATF4)in cervical cancer and their correlation with clinicopathological parameters. Methods:The expression of LAMP3 and ATF4 in normal cervical tissues, cervical intraepithelial lesions, and cervical cancer tissues was detected by SP immunohistochemistry. The relationships between the expression of these two proteins and patient clinicopathological parameters were analyzed,as well as the correlation between LAMP3 and ATF4 expression.Results:LAMP3 was negative or lowly expressed in both normal cervix tissues and high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions, but highly expressed in cervical cancer tissues(38.3%),showing a statistically significant difference(χ2=14.113,P=0.001).ATF4 was highly expressed in 26.7%of the normal cervix tissues,10.0%of the high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions, and 58.3%in the cervical cancer tissues, also showing a significant difference(χ2=11.078,P=0.004).In cervical cancer,LAMP3 expression was significantly associated with FIGO stage(χ2=10.139,P=0.006)and lymph node metastasis(χ2=8.475,P=0.004);ATF4 expression was significantly associated with tumor size(χ2=4.578,P=0.032),FIGO stage(χ2=8.971,P=0.009),and lymph node metastasis(χ2=7.881,P=0.005).There was a positive correlation between the expression of LAMP3 and ATF4 in cervical cancer tissues(r=0.388,P=0.002).Conclusion:LAMP3 and ATF4 are highly expressed in cervical cancer tissues and are positively correlated. Both of them play important roles in the development and progression of cervical cancer and could serve as potential therapeutic targets for cervical cancer treatment.

Carcinoid is a kind of tumor originating from neuroendocrine cells, which is rare in female reproductive system. Patients with primary ovarian carcinoid are usually difficult to diagnose before operation, and often coexist with ovarian teratoma. Postoperative pathology is the final basis for diagnosis. Adnexectomy is the main choice for treatment. The effect of surgical treatment is satisfied. The clinical data of 3 patients with ovarian carcinoid were analyzed and the literature was reviewed in order to deepen the understanding of primary ovarian carcinoid and guide the clinical therapy.

Marine fungi are important members of the marine microbiome, which have been paid growing attention by scientists in recent years. The secondary metabolites of marine fungi have been reported to contain rich and diverse compounds with novel structures (Chen et al., 2019). Aspergillus terreus, the higher level marine fungus of the Aspergillus genus (family of Trichocomaceae, order of Eurotiales, class of Eurotiomycetes, phylum of Ascomycota), is widely distributed in both sea and land. In our previous study, the coral-derived A. terreus strain C23-3 exhibited potential in producing other biologically active (with antioxidant, acetylcholinesterase inhibition, and anti-inflammatory activity) compounds like arylbutyrolactones, territrems, and isoflavones, and high sensitivity to the chemical regulation of secondary metabolism (Yang et al., 2019, 2020; Nie et al., 2020; Ma et al., 2021). Moreover, we have isolated two different benzaldehydes, including a benzaldehyde with a novel structure, from A. terreus C23-3 which was derived from Pectinia paeonia of Xuwen, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, China.

2-Haloacid dehalogenases (EC 3.8.1.X) catalyze the hydrolytic dehalogenation of 2-haloacids, releasing halogen ions and producing corresponding 2-hydroxyacids. The enzymes not only degrade xenobiotic halogenated pollutants, but also show wide substrate profile and astonishing efficiency for enantiomer resolution, making them valuable in environmental protection and the green synthesis of optically pure chiral compounds. A variety of 2-haloacid dehalogenases have been biochemically characterized so far. Further studies have been made in protein crystal structures and catalytic mechanisms. Here, we review the recent progresses of 2-haloacid dehalogenases in their source, protein structures, reaction mechanisms, catalytic properties and application. We also suggest further research directions for 2-haloacid dehalogenase.

Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine 2013;52(9):734-736
Objectives To investigate the incidence of the heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) and positivity of anti-heparin/platelet factor 4 complex antibody (HIT-antibody) in inpatients treated with heparin preparations. Methods A total of 197 consecutive patients, including 120 men and 77 women, who were treated with unfractioned heparin (UFH) or low molecular weight heparin (LMWH),were enrolled in this study.HIT-antibody was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).All patients were classified into subgroups based on 4Ts (Pretest Clinical Scoring System) and types of underlying disorders. The incidence of HIT and positivity of HIT-antibody among different groups were analyzed. Results The overall incidence of HIT was 3.0% (6/197),and the positivity of HIT antibody was 12.2% (24/197).The positivity of HIT-antibody was 10.1% (18/178),7.7% (1/13) and 83.3%(5/6) in low, moderate and high HIT probability group respectively. There were significant differences of HIT positivity and mean level of HIT-antibody between the high HIT probability group and the low or moderate HIT probability group (P =0.000).Both the incidence of HIT and positivity of HIT-antibody were higher in surgical patients than in medical patients (5.8% vs 0.9%,P =0.047 and 19.8% vs 6.3%,P =0.004).Conclusions The incidence of HIT and positivity of HIT-antibody were 3.0% and 12.2% respectively, both of which were related with the types of disorders.Detection of HIT-antibody has a better applicable value in patients with high HIT probability.
