Objective:To explore the effect of nurse-led peer education on the disease knowledge, medication adherence, and fall efficacy of osteoporosis patients. Methods:From June 2022 to May 2023, convenience sampling was used to select 63 patients with osteoporosis who visited the Bone Metabolism Clinic of Peking Union Medical College Hospital as participants. The patients were divided into a control group ( n=32) and an observation group ( n=31) using a random number table method. Control group received conventional health education, while observation group was treated with nurse-led peer education on the basis of control group. The osteoporosis knowledge, medication adherence, and fall efficacy scores were compared between the two groups of patients before and after intervention. Results:Two cases were lost to follow-up in control group, one case was lost to follow-up in observation group, and ultimately 30 cases were included in both observation group and control group. Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in osteoporosis knowledge, medication adherence, and fall efficacy scores between the two groups of patients ( P>0.05). After intervention, observation group had higher scores in osteoporosis knowledge, medication adherence, and fall efficacy than control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Nurse-led peer education based on online platforms can improve the knowledge, medication compliance, and fall efficacy score of osteoporosis patients, and is worthy of promotion and application in health education for osteoporosis patients.

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive mental and behavioral abnormalities, executive dysfunction, and language impairment. The initial symptoms of FTD are complex and diverse, which can be easily misdiagnosed, and there is an apparent genetic predisposition. Repeated expansion of chromosome 9 open reading frame 72( C9orf72) is a common genetic cause of FTD, but it is rarely reported. In this paper, we report a case of an elderly man with progressive memory loss, initially diagnosed as Alzheimer′s disease. The patient had a definite family history, but whole exome sequencing testing refinement revealed no apparent pathogenic mutation. The patient′s sister exhibited personality changes and language dysfunction, suggesting the possibility of frontotemporal dementia. The patient and her sister were tested for dynamic mutations in the C9orf72, and the results showed that the patient and her sister had an abnormal number of repeats in intron 1, GGGGCC, of the C9orf72. Both were ultimately diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia with C9orf72 mutation. Based on the report of this family, continued refinement of C9orf72 repeat expansion testing is recommended for familial dementia patients if whole exome sequencing is negative.

Objective To investigate the positive detective rate of interlobar node in the operation of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and to compare the effect of interlobar node dissection by video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) with thoracotomy in treatment of lung cancer. Methods 108 patients with NSCLC who received the surgery by the same group of thoracic surgeons were collected from Aug 2012 to Mar 2016 in Guangdong Medical University Affiliated Kaiping Central Hospital. The positive transfer and detective rates of interlobar node in patients with different clinical and pathological stage were analyzed. Then the patients were divided into traditional open thoracotomy group and VATS group according to the operation mode, meanwhile, the number of interlobar nodes dissection in the two groups were compared. Results The positive transfer rates of the interlober nodes in patients with different clinical stage were ⅠA 5.7 % (2/35),ⅠB 5.0 % (1/20), ⅡA 14.3 % (3/21), ⅡB 13.3 % (2/15), ⅢA 29.4 % (5/17); For patients with different pathological T stage were T1A 8.3 % (2/24), T1B 9.1 % (2/22), T2A 12.9 % (4/31), T2B 14.3 % (2/14), T3 21.4 %(3/14), T4 33.3 % (1/3), and over-all transfer rate was 13.0 % (14/108). In pathology stage and pathology T stage, the number of interlober nodes had no statistical difference in traditional open thoracotomy group and VATS group (all P>0.05). Conclusions Even in the early clinical stage, the transfer of interlobar node may be positive. The transfer rate of interlobar node is correlated positively with pathology T stage. VATS can achieve the same effect in interlobar node dissection compared with the traditional approach.
5.Perioperative nursing care of elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture combined with coronary heart disease
Journal of Clinical Medicine in Practice 2017;21(8):130-133
Objective To explore perioperative nursing of elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture combined with coronary heart disease. Methods A total of 120 femoral intertrochanteric fractures patients with coronary heart disease were selected as the research objects and were randomly divided into observation group (60 cases) with conventional nursing and control group (60 cases) with conventional nursing. Before and after nursing (postoperative 6 h) and after nursing (postoperative 14 d),the pain scores and grading of the patients in the two groups were compared by visual analogue scale (VAS).Before and after nursing,Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA),Depression Scale (HRSD) and the Simple Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ) were used to evaluate the psychological status of the two groups. After 14 d of nursing, the Harris hip function score of the patients in the two groups were recorded and compared at discharge and after operation for 6 months. Results After nursing, the number of patients with mild pain of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P < 0.05);The number of severe pain was significantly lower than that of the control group (P < 0.01).After nursing,VAS scores of two groups were significantly lower than treatment before (P < 0.05).VAS score of observation group was significantly lower than that of control group (P < 0.05).HAMA,HRSD and SCSQ scores of observation group were significantly lower than nursing before (P < 0.05).The HAMA,HRSD and SCSQ of observation group were significantly lower than that of control group (P < 0.05).Harris hip score of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group at different time points (P < 0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive, scientific and rational nursing should be given to elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture combined with coronary heart disease during perioperative period.
