BACKGROUND: As an essential part of health services, rehabilitation is of great significance to improve the health and quality of life of the whole population. Accelerating aging calls for a significant expansion of rehabilitation services in China, but rehabilitation needs remain unclear. We conducted the study to explore the rehabilitation needs in China and project the trend of rehabilitation needs from 2020 to 2034. METHODS: The data of health conditions that might potentially benefit from rehabilitation were obtained from Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study. Estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs) were calculated to quantify the trends of the age-standardized rates. Projections of rehabilitation needs were made until 2034 using Bayesian age-period-cohort analysis (BAPC). RESULTS: Approximately 460 million persons (33.3% of the total population) need rehabilitation in China, contributing to 63 million years lived with disabilities (YLDs) in 2019. The number of prevalent cases that need rehabilitation increased from around 268 (95% uncertainty interval [UI]: 257-282) million in 1990 to almost 460 (95% UI: 443-479) million in 2019, representing an increase of 71.3%. The highest contribution to the need for rehabilitation was musculoskeletal disorders with about 322 (95% UI: 302-343) million persons in seven aggregate disease and injury categories, and hearing loss with over 95 (95% UI: 84-107) million people among 25 health conditions. Based on the projection results, there will be almost 636 million people (45% of the total population) needing rehabilitation services in China by 2034, representing an increase of 38.3%. The rehabilitation needs of neoplasms, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders are expected to increase significantly from 2019 to 2034, with increases of 102.3%, 88.8% and 73.2%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The need for rehabilitation in China substantially increased over the last 30 years. It is predicted that over two in five people will require rehabilitation by 2034, thus suggesting the need to develop rehabilitation services that meet individuals' rehabilitation needs.

Objective:To analyze the current status, identify existing issues, and explore countermeasures for the development of " Six-Good" retirement Party branches in medical institutions and scientific research institutes.Methods:In August 2024, ten medical and research institutions were selected. Focusing on the current status and existing issues in Party branch building for retired personnel, questionnaire surveys were conducted among staff members of the Party office and the retired cadres department, as well as retired Party members. Experts in the field of Party building were selected for semi-structured interviews. Core themes were then extracted through content analysis.Results:The questionnaire survey included a total of 399 survey respondents, comprising 112 staff members from the Party office and the retired cadres department, as well as 287 retired Party members. 212 (53.1%) of the respondents belonged to Party branches with over 50 members, 280 (70.2%) of the respondents expressed a preference for establishing Party branches based on similar business functions or former departments prior to retirement. 373 (93.5%) of the respondents believed Party branch committee members were adequately appointed. 33.7% (127/377) of the respondents perceived ideological fluctuations among retirement Party members. 175 (43.9%) of the respondents indicated that learning content was insufficiently diverse. Through interviews with 15 experts, it was found that the construction of retired party branches was faced with issues such as low participation in offline organizational life, insufficient effectiveness in the education and management of party members, limited role play of party members, and prominent service and support pressures. In response, the experts proposed specific suggestions such as innovating organizational forms, strengthening the effectiveness of education and management, and building platforms for role play.Conclusions:The " Six-Good" Party branch building for retired personnel of the medical and scientific research institutions had achieved certain results, but there were also some problems. It is necessary to further optimize organizational settings, strengthen the branch leadership, innovate learning forms, build a platform for role play, strictly implement various systems, and strengthen assistance to difficult party members.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the mechanisms of rutin in alleviating depressive symptoms associated with premenstrual dysphoric disorder(PMDD)characterized by liver qi stagnation syndrome.METHODS Network pharmacology was employed to identify the intersecting targets of action between PMDD and rutin.A protein-protein interaction network was constructed to screen core targets,followed by gene ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analysis.Molecular docking simulations validated rutin's binding affinity to core targets.The bilateral ovaries of female Wistar rats were removed,followed by artificial hormone induction.The rats were then randomly divided into normal group(10 rats)and modeling group(50 rats).PMDD rat model with liver qi stagnation syndrome was established via restraint stress.The successfully modeled rats were further divided into model group,fluoxetine group(positive control)and rutin group,with 12 rats in each group.The corresponding drug solutions or water were administered by gavage at 9:00 a.m.every day,continuing for two estrous cycles.The open-field test,forced swimming test and Y-maze test were utilized to evaluate the effects of rutin on the behavioral indexes of model rats.Additionally,the density of neuronal dendritic spines in the hippocampal tissues of the rats was observed.Serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)levels and the expressions of BDNF,tyrosine kinase receptor type B(TrkB),synuclein(Syn),and postsynaptic density protein 95(PSD95)in hippocampal tissues were quantified,respectively.RESULTS Network pharmacology and molecular docking revealed the core targets through which rutin ameliorated PMDD characterized by liver qi stagnation syndrome included BDNF,TrkB,PSD65,Syn,etc.The results of experimental validation demonstrated that rutin significantly increased the spontaneous alternation behavior scores of PMDD model rats with liver qi stagnation syndrome during the non-receptive phase,shortened their immobility time during the forced swimming test,and enhanced the density of neuronal dendritic spines in the hippocampal tissues.Additionally,rutin upregulated the levels of serum BDNF and the protein expressions of BDNF,TrkB and Syn in the hippocampal tissues(P＜0.05).However,it had no significant effect on the above indexes in model rats during the receptive phase(P＞0.05).CONCLUSIONS Rutin ameliorates depressive symptoms,enhances spatial memory capabilities,and reduces neuronal damage in PMDD model rats with liver qi stagnation syndrome.These effects may be associated with the activation of BDNF/TrkB signaling pathway and upregulation of Syn protein expression.

Objective:To explore the establishment and application of ovarian cancer organoids.Methods:Fresh ovarian tumor tissues, obtaining from patients underwent surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University between October 2021 and March 2022, were collected, enzymatic degraded, digested, and embedded into matrigel to establish organoids. A total of 32 ovarian cancer samples were collected. Hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining and immunofluorescence (IF) procedure were used to verify the morphological structure of organoids and their expression of molecular markers. 3D cyto-live or dead assay was used to detecte the live or dead cells in organoids. Carboplatin with a concentration ranging from 5 to 80 μmol/L (5, 10, 20, 40, 80 μmol/L) was added to organoids to calculate the 50% inhibitory concentration (IC 50) in different organoids. Results:(1) Organoids from a total of 32 patients were established, of which 18 cases could be passaged stably in the long term in vitro, while 14 could be passaged in the short time. The average amplification time of long-term passage in vitro was over 3 months, and the longest reached 9 months. (2) In HE staining, significant nuclei atypia and local micropapillary structures were observed in organoids. IF staining revealed that ovarian cancer organoids expressed molecular markers similar to primary tumor tissues, such as Pan cytokeratin (Pan-CK), p53, paired box gene 8 (PAX8), and Wilms tumor gene 1 (WT1). (3) In 3D cyto-live or dead assay, a large number of apoptotic cells were observed inside and around the organoids after added carboplatin. The sensitivity to carboplatin varied in 18 organoids could amplify in the long term, with an average IC 50 of (29.5±15.8) μmol/L. Moreover, IC 50 values of 4 organoids derived from patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy were much higher than the 14 organoids which did not received neoadjuvant chemotherapy [(48.7±11.3) μmol/L vs (24.0±12.1) μmol/L; t=3.429, P=0.022]. Conclusions:Organoids recapitulate ovarian cancers in vitro and could be stably passaged. Organoids derived from patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy have higher resistance to carboplatin.

Objective:To investigate the training status of robotic-assisted surgery nurses in hospitals with robotic-assisted surgery system in China, and to provide reference for the training and management of robotic-assisted surgery nurses.Methods:From August to December in 2021, hospitals with robotic-assisted surgery system in China were surveyed by a self-designed questionnaire distributed online.Results:The participants in the survey of 111 hospitals in 30 provinces, cities, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, nurses cooperated with robotic-assisted surgery exist the phenomenon of their own training was up to 96.40% (107/111) of hospital, 47.75% (53/111) of the hospital said the current training content also need to add other aspects of the course. Training duration of theoretical courses was 0-13 (2.86 ± 3.03) periods arranged by hospitals, and the training duration of practical courses was 1-60 (8.38 ± 9.91) d. 35.14% (39/111) of hospitals set up regular assessment after training, and the assessment cycle of them was 1-12 (4.08 ± 3.31) months. Many hospitals put forward suggestions on strengthening English training and attaching importance to team cooperation and so on.Conclusions:In our country, Robotic-assisted surgery nurses′ training has turned to that training themselves in operating rooms, the training time, form, content and other aspects have no uniform standard, strict admittance, standardization of specialist training , these are questions need to solve.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion for functional dyspepsia (FD) due to Yang deficiency of the spleen and stomach.Methods: A total of 90 patients meeting the inclusion criteria of FD due to Yang deficiency of the spleen and stomach were randomized into an acupuncture-moxibustion group, an electroacupuncture (EA) group, and a mosapride group by the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The mosapride group was treated with mosapride citrate dispersible tablets. The EA group was treated with EA treatment. The acupuncture-moxibustion group was treated with additional moxibustion therapy based on the treatment in the EA group. All three groups took 10 d as one treatment course and 2 courses in total, with a 2-day interval between two courses. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms score, functional digestive disorder quality of life questionnaire (FDDQL) score, oral-colon transit time (OCTT), and serum glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) level was compared before and after treatment among the three groups. And the clinical efficacy was evaluated.Results: The total effective rate in the acupuncture-moxibustion group was 96.7％, which was higher than 86.7％ in the EA group and 73.3％ in the mosapride group, and the total effective rate in the EA group was higher than that in the mosapride group; the inter-group differences were all statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM symptom score in the three groups was lower than that before treatment (P<0.05), and the FDDQL score was higher than that before treatment (P<0.05). The change after treatment in the TCM symptom score in the acupuncture- moxibustion group and the EA group was more significant than that in the mosapride group, and the change in the acupuncture-moxibustion group was more significant than that in the EA group; the inter-group differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The change after treatment in the FDDQL score in the acupuncture-moxibustion group and the EA group was greater than that in the mosapride group, and the change in the acupuncture-moxibustion group was larger than that in the EA group; the inter-group differences were all statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the OCTT in all three groups was lower than that before treatment (P<0.05), and the serum GLP-1 level was higher than that before treatment (P<0.05); the change after treatment in the OCTT in the acupuncture-moxibustion group and the EA group was more significant than that in the mosapride group, and the change in the acupuncture- moxibustion group was more significant than that in the EA group; the inter-group differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The change after treatment in the serum GLP-1 level in the acupuncture-moxibustion group and the EA group was greater than that in the mosapride group, and the change in the acupuncture-moxibustion group was larger than that in the EA group; the inter-group differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion: Acupuncture and moxibustion can improve the clinical symptoms in patients with FD and enhance their quality of life, producing better effects than EA or mosapride alone. Shortening gastrointestinal movement time and increasing gastrointestinal hormone levels may be its mechanism.

Objective:To describe the COVID-19 epidemic and its characteristics in Heilongjiang province, and provide evidence for the further prevention and control of COVID-19 in the province.Methods:The information of COVID-19 cases and clusters were collected from national notifiable disease report system and management information system for reporting public health emergencies of China CDC. The Software’s of Excel 2010 and SPSS 23.0 were applied for data cleaning and statistical analysis on the population, time and area distributions of COVID-19 cases.Results:On January 22, 2020, the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported in Heilongjiang. By March 11, 2020, a total of 482 cases domestic case of COVID-19, The incidence rate was 1.28/100 000, the mortality rate was 2.70% (13/482) in 13 municipalities in Heilongjiang. There were 81 clusters of COVID-19, The number of confirmed cases accounted for 79.25% (382/482) of the total confirmed cases and 12 cases of deaths. The family clusters accounted for 86.42% (70/81). Compared with the sporadic cases, the mortality rate, proportion of elderly cases aged 60 or above and severe or critical cases of clinical classification were all higher in the clusters especially the family clusters, but the differences were not significant ( P>0.05). There were 34 clusters involving more than 5 confirmed cases accounted for 41.98% (34/81) of the total clusters, the involved cases accounted for 68.31% (261/382) of the total cases of clusters. There were significant differences in age distribution of the cases among the case clusters with different case numbers. In the clusters involving 6-9 cases, the proportion of cases aged 65 years or above was more (26.53%, 39/147). Conclusions:The incidence rate of COVID-19 was relatively high and the early epidemic was serious in Heilongjiang, The number of cases was large in clusters especially family clusters.

Objective The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the methylation of phosphodies-terase 4C(PDE4C)gene in peripheral blood leukocytes,and its interaction with environmental factors and the pathogenesis of breast cancer. Methods A case-control study was conducted to select 402 cases of breast cancer and 470 cancer-free controls from Octo-ber 2010 to December 2014. The specific DNA methylation-modified quantitative PCR method was used to detect the methylation of PDE4C gene. The use of crossover analysis and multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between the level of gene methylation and its interaction with environmental factors and the pathogenesis of breast cancer. Results PDE4C methylation was not found to be significantly associated with the onset of breast cancer. High-frequency/high-intake of whole grains,vegetables, onion-based plants,poultry,milk,and regular exercise could reduce the risk of breast cancer;high-frequency/high-intake of pork, irregular menstrual cycle,and a high psychological stress index could increase the risk of breast cancer. PDE4C hypermethylation had a significant combining effect with edible onion-producing plants greater than 3 times/week,with an OR of 0. 373(95% CI:0. 208~0. 668,P=0. 001). Conclusion Hypermethylation of PDE4C is not an independent risk factor for breast cancer,and its combination with environmental factors affects the risk of breast cancer.

Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between STAT1,STAT3 gene promoter CpG island methylation status and prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer(CRC)and the prognostic factors of CRC patients. Methods The cohort study was conducted to biosamples and follow up 239 patients with primary colorectal cancer pathologically diagnosed in Cancer Hospital of Harbin Medical University(Tumor Hospital). The methylation status of STAT1,STAT3 gene promoter CpG island was analyzed by methylation specific high-resolution melting curve(MS-HRM). Results The survival rates of 239 patients with colorectal cancer at 1 year,3 years and 5 years were 94. 90% ,86. 00% and 67. 20% ,respectively. The methylation status of STAT1 and STAT3 genes was not associated with postoperative survival in colorectal cancer patients( STAT1:HR=0. 85,95% CI:0. 55 ~1. 30,P=0. 44;STAT3:HR=0. 75,95% CI:0. 36~1. 58,P=0. 45). Dukes stage(HR=1. 31,95% CI:1. 14~1. 51,P<0. 01)and intraoperative intestinal stapler use(HR=1. 98,95% CI:1. 25 ~3. 14,P<0. 01) were important factors affecting the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients. The risk of death in patients with stage D and Dukes was significantly higher than that in stages A and B (HR=1. 31,95% CI:1. 14~1. 51,P<0. 01). Intestinal anastomosis was used during operation. The patient′s prognosis was better than that of patients without an intestinal stapler. However,gender,age,tumor location,gross tumor type,histological classification and postoperative chemotherapy were not associated with the prognosis of colorectal cancer. Conclusion Dukes stage is an independent factor affecting the prognosis of colorectal cancer. The prognosis of patients with intestinal stapler is better than that of non-users. The methylation status of STAT1 and STAT3 in peripheral blood is not a biomarkers for the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer.
