Objective To evaluate the feasibility of multi spiral computed tomography(MSCT)for etiological analysis of patients with pelvic venous congestion syndrome(PVCS).Methods The clinical and imaging data of 134 patients diagnosed with PVCS were analyzed retrospectively. The anatomical etiology of PVCS was analyzed, and the clinical and imaging differences between the two groups with and without vascular variation were compared. Results Among the 134 patients,69 had vascular variation, which included 37 distal hypoplasia of left renal vein(LRV),22 nutcracker phenomenon,6 ovarian vein(OV)variation,2 LRV variation,2 portal hyper-tension,2 pelvic arteriovenous fistula,1 left iliac vein compression syndrome,1 left renal malrotation and 1 left renal arteriovenous fistula. The remaining 65 cases showed no vascular variation. There were statistically significant differences in the left ovarian vein(LOV)diameter and reflux degree between the two groups(t=2.544,P=0.012;χ2=21.797,P<0.001).Patients with vascular varia-tion had wider diameter of LOV and higher degree of reflux. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups regarding age, symptom, times of pregnancy and delivery and body mass index(BMI)values(P>0.05).Conclusion MSCT can provide important reference value for etiological analysis of PVCS,which is helpful for precise treatment.

Endothelial dysfunction is a pivotal contributor to atherosclerosis(As)pathogenesis.A comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction would provide novel insights into effective treatment of As.Recent advances in genome and transcripome technology have enabled researchers to further explore the molecular mecha-nisms of endothelial dysfunction. It has been found that the regulatory network of competitive endogenous RNA(ceRNA)mediated by long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)plays a key role in endothelial dysfunction.lncRNA acts as a"molecular sponge"for microRNA(miRNA)to block the post-transcriptional repression of miRNA on downstream target gene messen-ger RNA(mRNA)by binding to miRNA,thereby regulating the function and phenotypic conversion of endothelial cell(EC)lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA interactions are widely involved in play an essential role EC inflammatory responses,apopto-sis,autophagy,angiogenesis,and endothelial-mesenchymal transition(EndMT).Which suggests that it may be a poten-tial therapeutic targets for As.

Objective To analyze the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic sinistral portal hypertension (PSPH).Methods A total of 28 patients with PSPH were retrospectively analyzed, and the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment experience of the disease were summarized. Results There were primary pancreatic diseases in all the cases, including 16 cases of pancreatitis and 12 cases of pancreatic tumor in the tail.12 cases underwent distal pancreatectomy plus spleenectomy,2 cases did spleenectomy and pericardial devascularization,9 cases received miscellaneous surgical procedures, and 5 case were managed by non-surgical medical treatments. After 1 year of follow-up,20 of 23 postoperative patients were alive and well.Among the 5 conservatively treated patients,2 had repeated upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Conclusion PSPH,especially caused by chronic pancreatitis yields to personalized surgical procedures based on pancreatectomy.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of curcumin against cigarette smoke extract (CSE)- induced oxidative stress in human bronchial epithelial cells and explore the underlying mechanism.
METHODSHuman bronchial epithelial cell line 16HBE was treated for 24 h with curcumin, CSE, CSE + curcumin, and CSE + curcumin with transfection by a short hairpin RNA targeting PPARγ (shPPARγ). MTT assay was used to observe the changes in the cell viability after the treatments. Quantitative real-time PCR was performed to detect the mRNA expressions of tumor necrosis factor- (TNF-), iNOS and PPARγ in the cells, and the protein expressions of iNOS, PPARγ and the phosphorylation of NF-κB p65 were detected using Western blotting.
RESULTSThe treatments did not cause significant changes in the cell viability. Exposure to CSE for 24 h significantly lowered PPARγ expression and increased TNF- and iNOS expressions and phosphorylation of NF-κB p65 in the cells. The effects of CSE were significantly suppressed by curcumin, but transfection of the cells with shRNA-PPARγ obviously abrogated the suppressive effects of curcumin.
CONCLUSIONSCurcumin suppresses CSE-induced oxidative stress and inflammation via the PPARγ/NF-κB signaling pathway in 16HBE cells, suggesting the potential of curcumin in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Antiangiogenic targeted therapy plays an important role in the treatment of malignant tumors, especially in the process of antitumor treatment including transformation stage, late stage, and maintenance stage.Apatinib(YN968D1)is a self-developed antian-giogenic targeted agent that was approved and launched for third-line and subsequent-line treatment for advanced gastric adenocarci-noma or gastro-esophageal junction adenocarcinoma. Moreover, the use of apatinib for other multiple solid tumors has been investi-gated.With an increase in the number of clinical studies on apatinib, concerns have been raised about its safety.Hence,we highlight the common adverse reactions of apatinib in clinical application and the incidences of various adverse events in different tumor treat-ments.We provide a comprehensive analysis of available clinical data and compare the advantages and disadvantages of apatinib with other common antiangiogenic drugs regarding their adverse reactions.Overall, these results will help to provide a better understand-ing of the safety of this medicine in the hope of helping physicians to provide patients with a safe and effective treatment.

Objective To investigate the situation of pre-pregnancy health check in rural areas of Sichuan province and get the key difficult points during the process of carrying out the work. Methods According to the economic situation in Sichuan province and geographic distribution, random eight areas in Sichuan province (Chengdu,Neijiang,Nanchong,Ziyang,Meishan,Zigong,Les-han and Suining),investigate pregnant women in maternal and child health care institutions and family planning service institutions at all all levels in the areas above. Results Only 334 people (33.26%)underwent the pre-pregnancy health check during the 974 pregnant women in rural areas. The rate of planned pregnancy is low;the rate of unintended pregnancy is close to 40.00%.55.29%of the planned pregnancy women didn′t undergo the pre-pregnancy health check. And the factors that affect their behavior of under-going pre-pregnancy health check are whether planned pregnancy and personal attitude towards pre-pregnancy health check.Conclu-sion The rate of pre-pregnancy health check is low in the pregnant women from rural areas of Sichuan province, the health sector needs to make efforts to promote and enhance the awareness of the rural pregnant women to prevent birth defects and the initiative in participation.
