BackgroundWith the rapid development of the networking technologies， internet addiction has increasingly become a serious mental health issue. Previous studies have revealed the link between childhood trauma and internet addiction， while the mediating role of perceived stress in this link is not yet clear. ObjectiveTo investigate the role of medical students' perceived stress in the relationship between childhood trauma and internet addiction， so as to provide references for the intervention of internet addiction. MethodsFrom February to March 2023， a random sampling technique was used to select 1 232 undergraduate students from the School of Clinical Medical Sciences of Southwest Medical University as research subjects. The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form （CTQ-SF）， Perceived Stress Scale （PSS）， Internet Gaming Disorder Scale （IGDS）， and Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale （BSMAS） were used for assessment. Pearson's correlation coefficients were calculated. The mediation effect of perceived stress in the relationship between childhood trauma and internet addiction was tested using Model 4 in the SPSS Process 4.1， and Bootstrapping procedure involving 5 000 replicates was employed to confirm the statistical significance. ResultsA total of 1 016 （82.47%） valid completed questionnaires were gathered. The CTQ-SF scores of medical students were positively correlated with PSS scores， IGD scores， and BSMAS scores （r=0.583， 0.474， 0.465， P<0.01）. PSS scores were positively correlated with IGD scores and BSMAS scores （r=0.369， 0.479， P<0.01）. Childhood trauma in medical students was found to positively predict perceived stress （β=0.191， P<0.01）， social media addiction （β=0.160， P<0.01）， and internet gaming disorder （β=0.106， P<0.01）. Perceived stress played a significant mediating role in the relationship between childhood trauma and internet gaming disorder， indirect effect value was 0.018 （95% CI： 0.009~0.027）， accounting for 16.98%. Perceived stress also exhibited a significant mediating role in the relationship between childhood trauma and social media addiction， indirect effect value was 0.063 （95% CI： 0.048~0.079）， accounting for 39.38%. ConclusionChildhood trauma in medical students may affect internet gaming disorder and social media addiction through perceived stress. ［Funded by 2022 Annual Research Project of Sichuan Applied Psychology Research Center，（number，CSXL-22102）］

BACKGROUND: Most studies have evaluated disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients based on a set of generic disability weights (DWs). This study aimed to apply local CRC-stage-specific DWs to estimate the burden of DALYs for CRC (CRC-DALYs) in populations in China and consider the influence of local screening coverage of CRC. METHODS: A prevalence-based model was constructed using data from various sources. Years lived with disability (YLDs) were estimated mainly via cumulative prevalence data (based on CRC incidence rates, population numbers, and survival rates), stage-specific proportions of CRC, and DWs of the local population. Years of life lost (YLLs) were calculated based on the CRC mortality rates and standard life expectancies. CRC incidence and mortality rates for the years 2020, 2025, and 2030 were estimated by joinpoint regression, and the corresponding DALYs were predicted. The main assumption was made for CRC screening coverage. Sensitivity analyses were used to assess the impact of population, DWs, and coverage. RESULTS: In 2017, among the Chinese population, the estimated number of CRC-DALYs was 4,303,314 (11.9% for YLDs). If CRC screening coverage rate in China (2.3%) remains unchanged, the overall DALYs in 2030 are predicted to increase by 37.2% (45.1% of those aged ≥65 years). More optimistically, the DALYs would then decrease by 0.7% in 2030 (from 5,902,454 to 5,860,200) if the coverage could be increased to 25.0%. A sensitivity analysis revealed that using local DWs would change the base-case values by 5.7%. CONCLUSIONS The estimated CRC-DALYs in China using population-specific DWs were considerably lower (with a higher percentage of YLDs) than the global burden of disease (GBD) estimates (5,865,004, of 4.6% for YLDs), suggesting the impact extent of applying local parameters. Sustainable scale-up CRC screening needs to be in place to moderate the growth trend of CRC-DALYs in China.

CRISPR/Cas9-based therapeutics face significant challenges in penetrating the dense microenvironment of solid tumors, resulting in insufficient gene editing and compromised treatment efficacy. Current nanostrategies, which mainly focus on the paracellular pathway attempted to improve gene editing performance, whereas their efficiency remains uneven in the heterogenous extracellular matrix. Here, the nanoCRISPR system is prepared with self-cascading mechanisms for gene editing-mediated robust apoptosis and transcellular penetration. NanoCRISPR unlocks its self-cascade capability within the matrix metallopeptidase 2-enriched tumor microenvironment, initiating the transcellular penetration. By facilitating cellular uptake, nanoCRISPR triggers robust apoptosis in edited malignancies, promoting further transcellular penetration and amplifying gene editing in neighboring tumor cells. Benefiting from self-cascade between robust apoptosis and transcellular penetration, nanoCRISPR demonstrates continuous gene transfection/tumor killing performance (transfection/apoptosis efficiency: 1st round: 85%/84.2%; 2nd round: 48%/27%) and homogeneous penetration. In xenograft tumor-bearing mice, nanoCRISPR treatment achieves remarkable anti-tumor efficacy (∼83%) and significant survival benefits with minimal toxicity. This strategy presents a promising paradigm emphasizing transcellular penetration to enhance the effectiveness of CRISPR-based antitumor therapeutics.

Colorectal cancer is a common malignant tumor disease that poses a threat to human life. Its early stage is relatively concealed and often does not present specific clinical manifestations. Therefore, metastasis is the main factor leading to death. However, for colorectal cancer and all other tumor diseases, early identification and intervention have a significant impact on the prognosis, survival time and quality of life of patients. However, the current clinical examination and testing methods all have certain limitations, especially in terms of the sensitivity and specificity for indicating tumor occurrence and metastasis, which still need to be improved. Therefore, finding new biomarkers is of great significance, and the discovery of new biomarkers can also increase the risk stratification of screening. In recent years, with the deepening of research, chemokine CCL11 has gradually come into researchers′ view. CCL11 is an eosinophil chemotactic factor and was first reported in guinea pig allergic airway inflammation. With the progress of research, its important role in many tumor-related diseases has gradually emerged. This article will provide an overview of the correlation between CCL11 and colon cancer.

Objective To explore the medication patterns of Professor Wu Wei,a renowned traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)expert of Guangdong Province,in treating coronary heart disease(CHD)and to provide insights for TCM clinical management of CHD.Methods From September 2015 to September 2024,the prescriptions for effective CHD cases treated by Professor Wu Wei at the Department of Cardiology,the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine were collected.The prescription data were input into the TCM Inheritance Assistant System(V2.5).Data mining methods of frequency analysis,association rule analysis,association degree analysis,and cluster analysis were employed to analyze the usage frequencies of herbs,association rules among herbs,and potential novel formula combinations.Results A total of 200 prescriptions were included,comprising 134 medicinals.There were 28 herbs used over 15 times.The top 10 most frequently-used herbs were Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma,Paeoniae Radix Rubra,Chuanxiong Rhizoma,Dalbergiae Odoriferae Lignum,Ilex Pubescens Radix,Carthami Flos,Scutellariae Radix,Astragali Radix,Fici Simplicissimae Radix,and Bambusae Caulis in Taenia.The commonly-used medicinals can be primarily classified into blood-activating herbs,heat-clearing herbs,qi-tonifying herbs,yin-nourishing herbs,and qi-regulating herbs according to their therapeutic actions.Association rule analysis identified 27 herbal combinations used frequently,predominantly involving Paeoniae Radix Rubra,Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma,Dalbergiae Odoriferae Lignum,Chuanxiong Rhizoma,Ilex Pubescens Radix,and Carthami Flos.Association degree analysis revealed that Professor Wu Wei's prescriptions for CHD usually consisted of the combinations of blood-activating,heat-clearing,phlegm-resolving,yin-nourishing,qi-tonifying,qi-regulating,diuretic,and sedative herbs.Complex system entropy-based cluster analysis yielded seven potential novel formulas.Conclusion For the treatment of CHD,Professor Wu Wei focuses on the utilization of heat-clearing and toxin-resolving herbs and blood-activating and stasis-resolving agents,and frequently uses qi-tonifying,phlegm-resolving,qi-regulating,yin-nourishing,diuretic,and sedative herbs as the adjuvant drugs,which reflects his view of CHD's pathogenesis being heat-toxin and blood stasis and his emphasis on the clinical application of heat-clearing and blood-activating therapy.

As an emerging discipline that combines traditional diagnostic methods with modern scientific technology,micro syndrome differentiation has good prospects for development,but there are some controversies in the research process.Based on ancient and modern literature,this article reviewed the origin and flow of research on micro syndrome differentiation,and summarized the problems to be improved in the process of research on micro syndrome differentiation from three aspects:application of disease type,guiding ideology and micro indicators.Based on this,the article further expounded the new thinking on"near-micro"syndrome differentiation from three aspects:connotation,scope of application,and links to traditional identification and micro-identification,and pointed out that the modern medical detection basis should be incorporated into the field of TCM syndrome differentiation,and at the same time,it should be based on the overall thinking mode of TCM,which would provide a new idea for the development of modern TCM diagnosis technology.

BACKGROUND:Our previous studies found that adding barium sulfate could improve the mechanical and radiopaque properties of calcium phosphate cement.However,with the degradation of calcium phosphate,the remaining radiopaque agent is difficult to degrade,and the space-occupying and osteoclast effects at the implantation site affect the bone repair process.Therefore,it is necessary to develop a new biodegradable radiopaque material. OBJECTIVE:To discuss the radiopaque ability of bioactive degradable material strontium polyphosphate(SrPP)and its impact on the physicochemical properties and osteogenic effect of calcium phosphate cement. METHODS:(1)Calcium phosphate cement(CPC),starch modified calcium phosphate cement(CPS)and starch modified calcium phosphate cement(20%SrPP-CPN)containing SrPP(20%mass fraction of bone cement powder)were prepared respectively,and the physicochemical properties of the three groups of bone cements were characterized.(2)The three groups of bone cement extracts were co-cultured with rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,respectively,to detect cell proliferation,energy metabolism,and osteogenic differentiation.(3)Bone defects with a diameter of 5 mm were made on each side of the top of the skull of 24 SD rats,and they were randomly divided into control group(without any intervention),CPC group,CPS group,and 20%SrPP-CPN group for intervention,with 6 rats in each group.Relevant tests were performed after 4 and 12 weeks of intervention. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Compared with the other two groups of bone cement,20%SrPP-CPN had enhanced radiopaque ability,increased compressive strength and degradation rate,and prolonged curing time,and 20%SrPP-CPN could release Sr2+ stably during degradation.(2)CCK-8 assay showed that 20%SrPP-CPN did not affect the proliferation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Cell starvation test(serum-free culture)showed that 20%SrPP-CPN could promote the proliferation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells compared with the other two groups of bone cement.Compared with the other two groups of bone cements,20%SrPP-CPN increased adenosine triphosphate concentration in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Alkaline phosphatase and alizarin red staining showed that 20%SrPP-CPN could promote osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells compared with the other two groups of bone cement.(3)In the rat skull defect experiment,Micro-CT scanning and histological observation(hematoxylin-eosin and Masson stainings)showed that bone cement in 20%SrPP-CPN group was significantly degraded compared with that in CPC and CPS groups,and a large number of new bone tissues were dispersed in degraded bone cement.Immunohistochemical staining showed that Runx2 protein expression was increased in 20%SrPP-CPN group compared with CPC group and CPS group(P＜0.01).(4)These results show that 20%SrPP-CPN has good radiopaque ability and osteogenic properties.

Objective:To test the reliability and validity of the general procrastination scale (GPS) in the application of middle school students.Methods:The Chinese version of GPS, the irrational procrastination scale(IPS), and the Maslach burnout inventory(MBI) were utilized to survey 10 825 middle school students in Harbin City through stratified random sampling, and 4 498 students were retested after 4 weeks. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 27.0 and Mplus 8.0.Results:The entries were well differentiated.Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis indicated that GPS was composed of two factors, including active avoidance and lack of planning.The model fit was good (CFI=0.914, TLI=0.901, RMSEA=0.069, SRMR=0.072). GPS was positively correlated with the total scores of IPS and MBI ( r=0.753, 0.677, both P<0.001). The Cronbach's α coefficient of GPS was 0.864, the folded half reliability was 0.870, and the retest reliability after 4 weeks was 0.756. Conclusion:The GPS has good reliability and validity among middle school students, which provides a standard for measuring the procrastination level of middle school students and carrying out related research.

Objective:To understand the current and integrated disease burden and economic burden caused by breast cancer in females in China.Methods:Based on six updated data sources, including the series of Chinese Cancer Registry Annual Report, China Death Cause Surveillance Datasets, China Health Statistical Yearbook, GLOBOCAN, Cancer Incidence in Five Continents, Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD), the information about incidence, mortality and disability adjusted life years (DALY) of breast cancer were extracted for the analysis on the current incidence and time trend of breast cancer and predicted disease burden of breast cancer in females in China. Software Joinpoint was used for time trend analysis. The data of economic burden were systematically updated and analyzed by literature review.Results:1) GLOBOCAN 2022 estimated that the age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) and one- year prevalence rate of breast cancer in females were 33.0/100 000, 6.1/100 000 and 40.1/100 000, respectively, in China in 2022. According to Chinese Cancer Registry Annual Report, the ASIR and ASMR were 28.4/100 000 and 5.8/100 000, respectively, in 2018. The China Death Cause Surveillance Datasets showed that the ASMR was 4.5/100 000 in 2021, and the urban to rural area mortality ratio was 1.2∶1. GBD reported that the DALYs of breast cancer were 2.921 million in China in 2021, accounting for 14.4% of the global total. 2) Chinese Cancer Registry Annual Report data showed that the ASIR and ASMR of breast cancer decreased by 2.1% and 11.4%, respectively, in China from 2009 to 2018, while increased by 43.9% and 8.2% in rural area, respectively. The Joinpoint analysis showed that the average annual percentage change (AAPC) of ASIR and ASMR in China were -0.2% ( P>0.05) and -1.6% ( P<0.05). The AAPC of ASIR and ASMR in rural area were 3.9% ( P<0.05) and 0.6% ( P>0.05), and -0.3% ( P>0.05) and -1.2% ( P<0.05) in urban area, respectively. China Health Statistical Yearbook data showed that the urban ASMR decreased by 12.3% from 2014 to 2021 with AAPC of -2.6% ( P<0.05). 3) The GLOBOCAN 2022 predicted that, the breast cancer case count and death count in China would be 387 776 and 111 133 by 2050, an increase of 8.6% and 48.2%, respectively, compared with 2022, the increases would be more obvious in people over 65 years old, an increase of 80.8% and 124.9%, respectively. 4) Thirteen individual- based studies reported that the median medical expenditure per patient ( M=21 000 to 39 000 Yuan) and length of hospital stay ( M=11.0 to 30.5 days) for breast cancer treatment decreased from 2010 to 2019, while the average medical expenditure per visit ( M=9 000 to 23 000 Yuan) showed an upward trend. There was only one national-level analysis, which showed that the treatment cost of breast cancer was 25.24 billion Yuan in China in 2018, accounting for 6.4% of the total cancer treatment cost. Conclusions:According to the above updated multi-source data, the incidence and mortality of female breast cancer in China were stable in the past ten years, but the increasing trend in rural area should be noted. The direct medical expenditure of breast cancer treatment per case might decrease, but the population-level economic burden would remain heavy due to population aging.

Objective We aimed to investigate the relationship between microscopic pattern of blood stasis and renal pathological grade and related physical and chemical indexes in children with Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura nephritis(HSPN).Methods We conducted a retrospective analysis of 800 HSPN children from the medical records of the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine.Laboratory indicators(blood routine test,urine routine test,coagulation test,liver function)and renal pathological indicators of them were collected.According to the severity of renal pathological microscopic lesions,the microscopic pattern of blood stasis was divided into three types,including choroidal discord,dead blood coagulation and intracarenal disease accumulation.The classification of renal microscopic pattern of blood stasis and the correlation between laboratory indexes and renal pathological index were analyzed by Spearman grade correlation and binary Logistic regression analysis.Results(ⅰ)There was no statistical difference of the distribution of the renal microscopic pattern of blood stasis in the different traditional Chinese medicine patterns.(ⅱ)There were significant differences in the contents or the grade of albumin and fibrinogen in the HSPN children with different microscopic pattern of blood stasis(all P＜0.05).(ⅲ)The maximum area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve between fibrinogen and intracarenal disease accumulation was 0.594(95％CI from 0.540 to 0.633,P＜0.001);sensitivity was 0.447,specificity was 0.725;the best threshold on the ROC curve of 0.172 was 3.755 g/L.(ⅳ)There were positive correlations between the content of fibrinogen,ISKDC grade and Bohle A grade respectively with the scores of intracarenal disease accumulation type(r=0.176,r=0.315,r=0.656;all P＜0.001).(ⅴ)There were positive correlations between the content of fibrinogen,ISKDC grade and Bohle A grade respectively with the renal microscopic pattern of blood stasis(r=0.157,r=0.377,r=0.429;all P＜0.001).Conclusion The microscopic renal pattern of blood stasis can not only reflect the severity of renal blood stasis,but also reflect the severity and long-term prognosis of renal diseases.Albumin and urinary protein grade can reflect the early stage of the microscopic renal pattern of the blood stasis(choroidal discord).The content of fibrinogen increases with the aggravation of renal microscopic pattern of blood stasis,reflecting the end-stage of HSPN,which has the correlation with the formation and severity of related indexes.Fibrinogen can be used as a laboratory indicator to assist in the diagnosis of irreversible lesionsin the renal pathology of HSPN children.
