Hyperlipidemia is a common metabolic disorder driven by dysregulated lipid metabolism， whose pathological progression involves multifaceted interactions across various signaling pathways， including disrupted cholesterol homeostasis， insulin resistance， chronic inflammation， and oxidative stress. Although existing clinical medications such as statins can effectively reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol through single-target inhibition， significant limitations remain in comprehensively improving reverse cholesterol transport， metabolic inflammation， and coordinated regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism. Curcumin， the primary polyphenolic active compound derived from the traditional medicinal herb turmeric， exhibits multi-dimensional pharmacological effects including modulation of lipid metabolism， improvement of insulin sensitivity， suppression of inflammatory responses， and enhancement of antioxidant defense. This review systematically integrates the multi-target regulatory network of curcumin， elucidating its key mechanisms： Balancing the low density lipoprotein receptor/proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 （LDLR/PCSK9） signaling pathway to promote reverse cholesterol transport， activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α/γ （PPARα/γ） signaling pathways to coordinate glucolipid metabolic homeostasis， remodeling the gut microbiota-bile acid axis， inhibiting nuclear factor kappa-B （NF-κB）-mediated inflammatory responses， and activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/antioxidant response element （Nrf2/ARE） antioxidant signaling pathway. Furthermore， supported by clinical research data， the review validates curcumin's therapeutic potential in reducing total cholesterol （TC） and triglyceride （TG） levels， increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-C）， as well as improving vascular endothelial function and insulin sensitivity. The study highlights the multi-target regulatory properties of curcumin and discusses future clinical applications based on nano-delivery systems and personalized treatment strategies， providing a theoretical basis and novel insights for the prevention and treatment of hyperlipidemia and related metabolic disorders.

ObjectiveTo explore the mechanism of action of Wendantang on ApoE^-/- hyperlipidemic mice using non-targeted metabolomics technology. MethodsMale C57BL/6J mice served as the normal control group （n=6）， and they were fed with regular chow， while male ApoE^-/- mice constituted the high-fat group （n=30）， and they were fed with a 60% high-fat diet. After 11 weeks of model establishment， the mice in the high-fat group were randomly divided into the model group， simvastatin group （3.3 mg·kg^-1）， and high-dose， medium-dose， and low-dose groups of Wendantang （26， 13， 6.5 g·kg^-1， respectively， in terms of crude drug amount）， with six mice in each group. The normal control group and the model group were gavaged with an equivalent volume of normal saline， and all groups continued to be fed their respective diets， receiving daily medication for 10 weeks with weekly body weight measurements. Serum levels of total cholesterol （TC）， triglycerides （TG）， high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-C）， low-density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C）， free fatty acids （NEFA）， blood glucose （GLU）， alanine aminotransferase （ALT）， and aspartate aminotransferase （AST） were detected in the mice. Pathological changes in liver tissue were observed using hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining， and ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry （UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS） was employed for metabolomic analysis of mouse liver tissue. ResultsCompared to the normal control group， the model group exhibited significantly increased body weight， blood lipid levels， and liver function （P<0.05， P<0.01）， with disordered liver tissue structure， swollen hepatocytes， and accompanying vacuolar fatty degeneration and inflammatory cell infiltration. Compared to the model group， the simvastatin group and Wendantang groups showed significantly reduced body weight， TG， NEFA， GLU， ALT， and AST levels （P<0.05， P<0.01）， with a significant increase in HDL-C levels （P<0.05， P<0.01）， demonstrating a dose-dependent effect. The lesion of the liver tissue section was obviously improved after administration， tending towards a normal liver tissue morphology. Analysis of liver metabolites revealed 86 differential metabolites between the normal control group and the model group， with the high-dose group of Wendantang able to regulate 56 of these metabolites. Twenty-two differential metabolites associated with hyperlipidemia were identified， mainly including chenodeoxycholic acid， hyocholic acid， taurine， glycocholic acid， dihydroceramide， hydroxy sphingomyelin C14∶1， arachidonic acid， and linoleic acid， enriching 22 metabolic pathways， with 4 being the most significant （P<0.05）， namely primary bile acid biosynthesis， sphingolipid metabolism， unsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis， and linoleic acid metabolism pathways. ConclusionWendantang can improve blood lipid levels and liver function in ApoE^-/- hyperlipidemic mice， which may be related to the regulation of primary bile acid biosynthesis， sphingolipid metabolism， unsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis， and linoleic acid metabolism pathways.

ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanisms by which the combination of berberine （BBR） and baicalin （BAI） ameliorates type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM） due to internal accumulation of dampness-heat from the perspectives of gut microbiota and metabolomics. MethodsAntibiotics were used to induce pseudo-sterile mice. Thirty pseudo-sterile mice were randomized into a normal fecal microbiota transplantation group （n=10） and a T2DM （syndrome of internal accumulation of dampness-heat） fecal microbiota transplantation group （n=20）. The mice were then administrated with suspensions of fecal microbiota from healthy volunteers and a patient with T2DM due to internal accumulation of dampness-heat by gavage， respectively. Each mouse received 200 µL suspension every other day for a total of 15 times to reshape the gut microbiota. The T2DM model mice were then assigned into a model group （n=8） and a BBR-BAI group （n=11）. BBR was administrated at a dose of 200 mg·kg^-1， and BAI was administrated in a ratio of BBR-BAI 10∶1 based on preliminary research findings. The administration lasted for 8 consecutive weeks. Fasting blood glucose （FBG）， glycated hemoglobin （HbA1c）， insulin （INS）， triglycerides （TG）， total cholesterol （CHOL）， low-density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C）， high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-C）， aspartate aminotransferase （AST）， and alanine aminotransferase （ALT） levels were measured to evaluate the effects of the BBR-BAI combination on glucose and lipid metabolism and liver function in T2DM mice. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was employed to observe pathological changes in the colon tissue. The expression of claudin-1， zonula occludens-1 （ZO-1）， and occludin in the colon tissue was determined by Western blot. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction（Real-time PCR） was employed to assess the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）， interleukin-1β （IL-1β）， and interleukin-6 （IL-6） in the colon tissue. The fecal microbiota composition and differential metabolites were analyzed by 16S rRNA sequencing and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time of flight tandem mass spectrometry （UPLC-Q-TOF-MS）， respectively. ResultsThe BBR-BAI combination lowered the FBG， HbA1c， and INS levels （P<0.05， P<0.01） and alleviated insulin resistance （P<0.01） in T2DM mice. Additionally， BBR-BAI elevated the levels of ZO-1， occludin， and claudin-1 （P<0.05， P<0.01） and down-regulated the expression levels of TNF-α， IL-1β， and IL-6 in the colon （P<0.05， P<0.01）. The results of 16S rRNA sequencing showed that BBR-BAI increased the relative abundance of Ligilactobacillus， Phascolarctobacterium， and Akkermansia （P<0.05）， while significantly decreasing the relative abundance of Alistipes， Odoribacter， and Colidextribacter （P<0.05）. UPLC-Q-TOF-MS identified 28 differential metabolites， which were primarily involved in arachidonic acid metabolism and α-linolenic acid metabolism. ConclusionBBR-BAI can ameliorate T2DM due to internal accumulation of dampness-heat by modulating the relative abundance of various bacterial genera in the gut microbiota and the expression of fecal metabolites.

Premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)is a disease that seriously affects the health and life of women,which is also one of the main causes of female infertility.The incidence of POI is increasing in recent years.The diagnostic criteria of POI are not uniform,and different diagnostic criteria have inconsistent thresholds for various indicators.Strict diagnostic criteria are more conducive to early detection and treatment of POI.At present,complementary and alternative therapies such as traditional Chinese medicine,acupuncture and moxibustion are widely used in the treatment of POI.This article reviewed the recent studies on the complementary and alternative therapy of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of POI,and finds that the dialectical treatment of traditional Chinese medicine is based on the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine theory and puts forward corresponding treatment plans for different dialectical types.For example,treatment from the kidney,tonifying kidney filling essence,regulating chongren;Treatment from the liver,soothing the liver,regulating qi,nourishing blood and softening the liver;Treatment from the heart and spleen,nourishing Yangming,tonifying the spleen and nourishing the heart.In terms of acupuncture treatment,regulating menstruation and promoting pregnancy and regulating the conception vessel and toning the governor vessel and toning the kidney are often used to treat POI.In addition,moxibustion regulates body function by stimulating the bladder meridian and conception vessel and governor vessel acupoints.Other methods,such as ear acupoint bean-pressing,acupoint thread-embedding and acupoint injection,have also shown potential in the treatment of POI.This article summarizes the role and characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of POI,in order to provide ideas and basis for clinical treatment of POI.

Gegen Qinliantang is a representative prescription for dual releasing of exterior and interior and treating diarrhea with fever in the Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases （《伤寒杂病论》）. This prescription consists of Puerariae Lobatae Radix， Scutellariae Radix， Coptidis Rhizoma， and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle. The combination of the four herbal medicines has the ability to clear both the exterior and the interior， thereby halting diarrhea and clearing heat. According to the idea of treating different diseases with the same method， Gegen Qinliantang is used in clinical practice to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM）， which demonstrates positive outcomes. T2DM is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. The etiology and pathogenesis of T2DM are complex， mainly related to heredity， lifestyle， environment， diet and other factors. Clinical observations and experimental studies have shown that Gegen Qinliantang and its effective ingredients have significant effects of preventing and treating T2DM. Clinically， Gegen Qinliantang is often applied with modification， or in combination with Western drugs， demonstrating better therapeutic effects than Western drugs alone. Clinical practice has confirmed that Gegen Qinliantang can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms， reduce the occurrence of complications， and alleviate gastrointestinal adverse reactions in T2DM patients. Experimental studies have demonstrated that Gegen Qinliantang can ameliorate insulin resistance and boost pancreatic function by regulating the insulin and inflammation signaling pathways， alleviating oxidative stress， and modulating gut microbiota to treat T2DM. Nevertheless， more thorough studies remain to be carried out to decipher the mechanism of Gegen Qinliantang in ameliorating insulin resistance in T2DM. To provide theoretical and data references for the subsequent in-depth research on the mechanism of Gegen Qinliantang in treating T2DM and the prevention and treatment of this disease， this article systematically reviews the clinical and experimental research progress of Gegen Qinliantang in ameliorating insulin resistance in T2DM.

Objective:To investigate the effect of internal fixation of medial support and lateral wall on initial weight-bearing stability of femoral intertrochanteric fracture after reconstruction of intertrochanteric fracture.Methods:Based on the digital model of Sawbones femur, intertrochanteric fracture models with different medial support and lateral wall states were constructed. Combined with various intramedullary and extramedullary fixation methods, the mechanical models after fixation were simplified, and seven mechanical simplified models were obtained. The individual body weight load (70 kg) was simulated by applying concentrated force (700 N) to the end nodes of the femoral head. Through the analysis and calculation of each model in StrucMaster software, the axial force, shear force, bending moment, displacement deformation, and support reaction force of each bar in each mechanical model were obtained, and the results were output through the supporting SMConsole.Results:The median bending moment of model 1 was 11.55(5.57, 18.00) N·m, and the median bending moment was 2.89(2.81, 2.94) rad. The median bending moment of model 2 was 13.72(9.30, 20.05) N·m, and the median bending moment was 2.93(2.77, 3.05) rad. The median bending moment of model 3 was 19.65(10.23, 26.11) N·m, and the median bending moment was 2.93 (2.77, 3.05) rad. The median bending moment of model 4 was 25.95(25.14, 36.70) N·m, and the median bending moment was 4.38(3.16, 5.15) rad. The median bending moment of model 5 was 13.66(7.99, 25.62) N·m, and the median bending moment was 3.50(3.32, 3.56) rad. The median bending moment of model 6 was 24.60(9.33, 29.37) N·m, and the median bending moment was 3.90(3.69, 4.10) rad. The median bending moment of model 7 was 41.14(0.16, 41.30) N·m, and the median bending moment was 5.50(5.50, 7.05) rad. The mechanical properties of model 1 were better than those of the other six models.Conclusion:The simplified mechanical model and its mechanical calculation analysis based on the lever reconstruction balance theory can be used to preliminarily reveal the mechanical characteristics of femoral intertrochanteric fractures after internal fixation. The internal fixation methods of the medial support and lateral wall of femoral intertrochanteric fracture reconstruction can improve the initial stability of the weight bearing after internal fixation of femoral intertrochanteric fractures and have guiding significance for the functional rehabilitation of early postoperative weight bearing.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the therapeutic effect of stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix on androgenic alopecia （AGA） and study the treatment mechanism. MethodNinety-nine SPF-grade male C57BL/6J mice were randomized into control， model， positive drug （finasteride， 0.65 mg·kg^-1）， low （0.78 g·kg^-1）， medium （1.56 g·kg^-1）， and high （3.12 g·kg^-1）-dose stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix， and Polygoni Multiflori Radix Praeparata groups by the random number table method. The mouse model of AGA was constructed by subcutaneous multi-point injection of testosterone propionate diluent for 60 days， and the mice were administrated with corresponding drugs by gavage from day 11. The therapeutic effects of stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix and Polygoni Multiflori Radix Praeparata on AGA were evaluated by newly hair area， hair length， hair weight in the hair removal area， and hematoxylin-eosin staining. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was employed to determine the levels of testosterone （T）， dihydrotestosterone （DHT）， and 5α-reductase （5-AR） in the skin tissue of mice. Western blot was employed to determine the expression levels of key proteins in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. ResultCompared with the control group， the model group （after 60 days of modeling） showed reductions in the newly hair area， hair length and weight in the back hair removal area， and ratio of hair follicles containing melanin to total hair follicles （P<0.05， P<0.01）， elevated levels of T， DHT， and 5-AR， up-regulated expression level of glycogen synthase kinase-3β （GSK-3β） （P<0.05， P<0.01）， and down-regulated expression levels of β-catenin， phospho-glycogen synthase kinase-3β （p-GSK-3β）， and p-GSK-3β/GSK-3β （P<0.05， P<0.01） in the skin tissue. Compared with the model group， the positive drug， low-， medium-， and high-dose stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix， and low-， medium-， and high-dose Polygoni Multiflori Radix Praeparata improved the newly hair area and hair length of mice （P<0.01）， and stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix and Polygoni Multiflori Radix Praeparata at low and medium doses improved the weight of newly formed hair in mice （P<0.05， P<0.01）. The positive drug， low-， medium-， and high-dose stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix， and low- and high-dose Polygoni Multiflori Radix Praeparata increased the ratio of hair follicles containing melanin to total hair follicles in the skin tissue （P<0.05， P<0.01）. Compared with Polygoni Multiflori Radix Praeparata at the same doses， the medium and high doses of stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix increased the ratio of melanin-containing hair follicles to total hair follicles （P<0.05）. Compared with the model group， stewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix lowered the levels of T and DHT， down-regulated the expression level of GSK-3β （P<0.01）， and up-regulated the expression levels of β-catenin， p-GSK-3β， and p-GSK-3β/GSK-3β （P<0.05， P<0.01） in the skin tissue of the mice. ConclusionStewed Polygoni Multiflori Radix can ameliorate androgenic alopecia in mice by reducing the androgen level and promoting Wnt/β-catenin signaling.

Objective:To investigate the application effect of CBL teaching based on mind mapping combined with know-want-learned (KWL) chart in standardized nursing training for neonatal infection.Methods:A total of 58 students who participated in standardized training in Department of Neonatology, Children's Hospital, Capital Institute of Pediatrics, were included in the study and were divided into control group and observation group using a simple random number table, with 29 students in each group. The students in the control group were given traditional teaching, and those in the observation group were given CBL teaching based on mind mapping combined with KWL chart. Assessment score was compared between the two groups, and the two groups were compared in terms of self-directed learning ability, critical thinking ability, and evaluation of teaching effectiveness. SPSS 22.0 was used to perform the chi-square test and the t-test. Results:Both groups had significant increases in the scores of theoretical knowledge (91.65±5.17 vs. 84.58±9.14), clinical skills (89.16±6.24 vs. 83.34±7.40), Self-Rating Scale of Self-Directed Learning (257.23±25.79 vs. 241.56±22.74), and Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese Version (317.14±38.50 vs. 285.78±34.71) after training, and the observation group had significantly higher scores than the control group ( P<0.05). The observation group had a significantly higher evaluation of teaching effectiveness than the control group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:CBL teaching based on mind mapping combined with KWL chart can improve the assessment scores of students and improve their self-directed learning ability and critical thinking ability, and students have a high evaluation of teaching effectiveness.

Objectives:This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of bendamustine in combination with rituximab (BR regimen) for the treatment of newly diagnosed indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-iNHL) and elderly mantle cell lymphoma (eMCL) .Methods:From December 1, 2020 to September 10, 2022, a multi-center prospective study was conducted across ten Grade A tertiary hospitals in Shandong Province, China. The BR regimen was administered to evaluate its efficacy and safety in newly diagnosed B-iNHL and eMCL patients, and all completed at least four cycles of induction therapy.Results:The 72 enrolled patients with B-iNHL or MCL were aged 24-74 years, with a median age of 55 years. Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status scores of 0-1 were observed in 76.4% of patients, while 23.6% had scores of 2. Disease distribution included follicular lymphoma (FL) (51.4% ), marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) (33.3% ), eMCL (11.1% ), and the unknown subtype (4.2% ). According to the Ann Arbor staging system, 16.7% and 65.3% of patients were diagnosed with stage Ⅲ and stage Ⅳ lymphomas, respectively. Following four cycles of BR induction therapy, the overall response rate was 98.6%, with a complete response (CR) rate of 83.3% and a partial response (PR) rate of 15.3%. Only one eMCL patient experienced disease progression during treatment, and only one FL patient experienced a relapse. Even when evaluated using CT alone, the CR rate was 63.9%, considering the differences between PET/CT and CT assessments. The median follow-up duration was 11 months (range: 4-22), with a PFS rate of 96.8% and an OS rate of 100.0%. The main hematologic adverse reactions included grade 3-4 leukopenia (27.8%, with febrile neutropenia observed in 8.3% of patients), grade 3-4 lymphopenia (23.6% ), grade 3-4 anemia (5.6% ), and grade 3-4 thrombocytopenia (4.2% ). The main non-hematologic adverse reactions such as fatigue, nausea/vomiting, rash, and infections occurred in less than 20.0% of patients.Conclusion:Within the scope of this clinical trial conducted in China, the BR regimen demonstrated efficacy and safety in treating newly diagnosed B-iNHL and eMCL patients.
